How to deploy webservices in weblogic 90

I am tryiong to find a way to deploy a set of web service endpoints
represented by stateless session beans in WL9.0. I know that 9.0 best
practice recommendation is using JSR181 and jwsc tool, but for various
reasons I cannot use that approach. So, what is the alternate approach?
Basically, I will have a generic ear file, where I have most of the JSR921
artifacts generated by XDoclet. I want to deploy this EAR in WL after
creating a set of new WSDLs (and replacing the corresponding WSDLs in the
EAR) using the WL tools. What is the best approach here?
It seems that only wldeploy is supported in 9.0. How can I use that to do
what I want? Also, which tool do I use to generate WSDL's from the session
bean service endpoints in WL 9.0?
Thanks for any pointers.

Pack the servlet in a web application packaging fashion and then go to the weblogic admin console...you can find the application by browsing the folder
when you click on the "deploy web application" link (which searches for the web.xml file and a valid package structure)

    3. Hudson (Hudson ver. 2.1.2) is intsalled.
Could you please tell me, how to automatic deploy *.jar in WebLogic by Hudson and WLST, if take into consideration the email-notification about problem in deploing?

I've never used WLST inconjunction with Hudson.
What I have done is use Maven to do this.
We have a WebLogic Server Maven Plugin which can perform deployment operations.
Hudson has support for Maven, so you create a Maven project which does the deployment from the project and configure a job using that on Hudson -- if you can get your developer to upload their artifacts to some form of SCM system so Hudson watches for the changes, grabs the new file and does the deployment, that would work.
If you want to use your scripts, then you could perhaps use the Hudson SSH plugin which can execute "shell" scripts on a server. Theoretically here you would create wrapper shell scripts for your WLST execution/script, then configure a Hudson job which executes the scripts. I've never used the plugin so not sure how it is activated, but you could configure a job to run on a periodic basis, and have the wrapper script itself do the check to see if the directory contains a jar/ear file to deploy -- if it does, execute the WLST scripts; if not, simply return.
Let us know how you get on!

    Hi,
You can find many articles on oracle site for this subject.
However in brief following are the steps
    1) Create a directory source,executables,images,reports and logfiles.
    2) Copy all your forms, menus and pll's in source directory
    3) All your images in your image directory
    4) All your reports in reports directory
    5) All yuor fmx,mmx and plx in executables directory
    6) Any log files in logfiles directory
    7) Add path of images and executables directory in FORMS_PATH in default.env
    8) Configure your formsweb.cfg as your need.
    9) Configure report.conf and rwservlet.properties according to your applications.
    10) Make jar of icons say myicons.jar.
    11) copy myicons.jar in forms/java directory
    12) Check yuor form services if they are running or not.
    13) Invoke the URL in internet explorer
    http://<ip_address>:<port_no>/forms/frmservlet?form=testform.fmx
I think that's enough from my side.. For more info you can go through the documentation.

  • Deploying WebServices to WebLogic 7.0

I'm trying to test a webservice I developed with JDev 9.0.3.
The deployment profile looks fine; it includes the web.xml with the servlet mapping and the three params (class-name; interface-name and session-timeout)

But when I try to actually test one method of my webservice, I'm getting an exception that's confusing me.
It's a ClassCastException referencing a WebLogic internal class but it's coming from a oracle internal class.

If you want to deploy Web services to BEA from Oracle9i JDeveloper you will probably have to use the Oracle SOAP approach which is based on Apache SOAP. This would mean that you have to do the following:
    1. first configure Apache SOAP (2.3.1)
    2. When running the Web service publishing wizard in JDeveloper choose Oracle9iAS 1.0.2.2/Apache SOAP 2.2 as your type of Web service (it really is Apache SOAP 2.3.1 but the screen was not updated)
    3. Deploy from JDeveloper both the underlying class and descriptor (read the Oracle9i JDev help for steps for deploying the Apache SOAP as they differ from the Oracle9iAS Web services
The first choice in the publish Web service wizard, Oracle9iAS Web services (what you describe here), is pretty much dependent on Oracle9iAS whereas the Oracle SOAP is pretty much native Apache SOAP which can be deployed from xml.apache.org/soap to BEA.
This issue will likely get less dramatic as both Oracle and BEA move to JAX-RPC in J2EE 1.4 where the implementation model for Web services is standardized. We hope to have our first JAX-RPC release available in the first half of this year.

use your console to create a web-app from the directory with the web-inf and your jsp. Hit deploy and it should work.

  • How to deploy Servlet Application in Weblogic 8.1

    Hi,
I am new to BEA Weblogic 8.1 .
I was trying to create a sample application using InelliJ IDea 5.1 , and IntelliJIdea 10.5 . i configured weblogic with IDE , but now i do not know how to deploy my application in weblogic .
I am new in IntelliJ also .
So Can anyone tell me how can i deploy a servlet application in any IDE like i also have eclipse indigo.
    Thanks & Regards
    Komi

    Hi Komi
Basically you deploy your Servlet as a WAR File. I am not familiar with IntellJ IDE. But it should have a provision to export/create a WAR file that has your Servlet. Also I hope you already have web.xml file with 2 sections like this: First you mention full package of your servlet and give it a name. Then enter a mapping url. You will use this url to run your servlet like http://weblogichost:weblogicport/yourWebappcontextroot/myservlet
    <servlet>
         <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
         <servlet-class>com.abd.def.MyServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
         <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
         <url-pattern>/myservlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
Coming to deployment, I hope you already created a Weblogic Domain and have admin username/password. Start your domain. Login into weblogic console like http://host:port/console and use admin username/password. Then from Deployments section, deploy the above WAR file. In Weblogic you can deploy JAR (EJBs, java files), WAR (web jsp, html, webservices, servlets) or EAR (JAR + WAR). In your case its just a WAR file.
Refer the online docs for more details on Deployments in Weblogic.

  • How to migrate .war archived webservice to WebLogic 10.0.3

    Hi everyone.
I have been requested to deploy a War file as Webservice on Weblogic Server 10.0.3 (installed on Redhat EL 5.0, I used Sun jdk 1.0.6 distributed along with installer bin file). This file
was run well on TOMCAT 5.0.28 server. When hacking into this WAR file I know it use Xfire(1.2.2) as a base to construct Webservice, hibernate(3.0) to mapping with database (it use only a
services.xml putting on META_INF to describe service as far as I know). Firstly, I use Adminstration Console, go to deployment link and deploy as this tool say, the result in Adminstration
Console tell me I had deployed succedfully but when I digged into exploded directory of WAR file, I can not see any .class file under WEB_INF directory and my client actually can not access provided services. I thought there is problem when use Application Console to deploy so I switch to use other tool like wlst or ant task but result is the same. Finally, I had to upload WAR file, use jar to extract WAR file to a directory and use Adminstration Console to deploy the whole directory as a Web Application. All class file are under WEB_INF directory. But when I use a client to access services I got exception as below on WebBrowser
Could not invoke service.. Nested exception is org.codehaus.xfire.fault.XFireFault: Fault: java.lang.NullPointerException
and no more detail (or I do not known where to get log file). Because I am just a system maintainer and do not know much a bout J2EE Webservice specification, I just read some materials
and know that WebLogic support Web Services 2.1 (JAX-WS) and XML-Based RPC 1.1 (JAX-RPC). So I desire to know some thing below:
    1) What kind of Webservice in WAR file do I have (Web Services 2.1 (JAX-WS) and XML-Based RPC 1.1 (JAX-RPC) or something WebLogic do not support?
    2) How to migrate my WAR file to Weblogic by a very common way?
    3) How to get log to make more detail about exception above on WebLogic (does log4j archive this work?) ?
    Thank you so much

    Hi all,
May be I found the problem. The compatibility between Weblogic and hibernate 3.0 relating to antlr-2.7.5H3.jar library. Although I include all application's jar file in CLASSPATH when start server
but Weblogic seem not to see my antlr-2.7.5H3.jar and use its default antlr library instead. So I set my antlr-2.7.5H3.jar directly into PRE_CLASSPATH variable on $DOMAIN_HOME/lib/setDomainEnv.sh
    file like below:
    PRE_CLASSPATH="$DOMAIN_HOME/lib/antlr-2.7.5H3.jar"
    export PRE_CLASSPATH
By now my application use the desired lib and Webservice work fine.
But I wonder if this is a good solution, is there any other good practice to set CLASSPATH for this situation? setting PRE_CLASSPATH is correct point and having no affection to the whole domain
in the case there are more application reside in the domain?
    Thank all.

    Hi
    1. Deleting a domain will not hold any references. But make sure that under your user_projects/applications also remove the folder that matches with your domain. Basically under user_projects folder you will see 2 folders named applications and domains. When you create a domain say mySoaDomain, it will crate a folder with the same name under applications folder also with few files like em.ear. If you do this, then you can crate a new soa domain and use the same old name.
    2. NOW comes the most important thing. If you create a new SOADomain, at one point, you had to give details for soainfra and mds schemas. If you give your current existing db details (that was used for your old deleted domain), then you may still have the issues. Because the soainfra db may still have the instances for your old process.
    3. If you really want to have a full clean soa domain, here is what you do:
    a) Run rcu and drop the existing schemas for soainfra and mds.
    b) Run rcu again and create above schemas again.
    c) Now create SOADomain using config wizard and refer above clean rcu db and you are all set.
    3. Under your domain root folder, just searh for files named with your workflow and you should see the .jar location.
    Thanks

I have just enabled security in our ADF 11g application, as descripbed in [chapter 29|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/adding_security.htm#insertedID0] of the Fusion Developer's Guide. It works fine in the embedded WebLogic server of JDeveloper.
Now I'm trying to deploy to our WebLogic 10.3 server, which runs in production mode. I'm running into all sorts of problems. The WebLogic console seems to have hundreds of security related pages, I don't know which one I should use, let alone how to use it. The Fusion Developer's Guide doesn't cover deployment to a production server:
    >
When the target server is configured for production mode, you typically handle the migration task outside of JDeveloper using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager. For details about using tools outside of JDeveloper to migrate the policy store to the domain-level in a production environment, see the [Oracle Fusion Middleware Security Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10043/toc.htm].

However, this guide is of very little help to me. I found [chapter 7|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10043/addlsecfea.htm#insertedID0], which says "The recommended tool is Fusion Middleware Control." I have no idea what "Fusion Middleware Control" is, where to get it and how to use it.
Long story short: I'm totally lost. I'm looking for a step by step guide on how to deploy a secured ADF 11g application to a WegLogic 10.3 server that is running in production mode. Any help is highly appreciated.

Ok, I found a [very helpful blog post |http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2009/01/practical-adf-security-deployment-on.html] by [Andrejus Baranovski|http://www.blogger.com/profile/04468230464412457426]. I wish Oracle's documentation was as clear as this...
The blog post refers to an article by Steve Muench, called [Simplified ADF 11g Application Credential and Policy Migration to Standalone WebLogic Servers|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/credmig111100/index.html]. This article presents an Ant script that migrates policies from JDeveloper to WebLogic, using some PFM. (See the last definition here.)
The problem is that Steve Muench's script assumes that JDeveloper and the standalone WebLogic are on the same machine. However, in a typical environment, such as the one I'm working in currently, this is not the case. In our case the developer stations are Windows machines, while our WebLogic server runs on a HP-UX machine. So the question is: how to perform this migration between two machines with different operating systems?
