How do I detect devices connected to Ethernet using LabVIEW.
My requirement is:
I need to detect all devices connected to ethernet in my network.Need to list down all IP of the devices.
Can anyone help me in this...

Found it. However its written a long time ago when I still created spagetti diagrams that give you eye diarrhea, and its bad coding. If someone should use it and cleans it up, please post the cleaned up version
It uses the arp command. prob. other ways to solve this too

How to detect device, browser in fatwire.

Hi All,
I need to detect device name, browser, location etc in fatwire. I know fatwire has an internal TAG-LIB device.tld to detect device but its only giving me device group but not exact name of device.
Also, Does fatwire has any in built functionality to detect location??

If you are using older version of sites there is not built in functionality. If you are on 11.1.1.8.0, you can get it by using parameter called "d"
For older versions, try to get the user-agent request.getHeader("User-Agent")

How to view devices connected to m20

I opened up Cisco Connect for my m20 router via the desktop and it cites there are 2 devices that are currently connected to the valet. The citation is in the upper left box titled: Computers and Devices.
However, i am having a dickens of a time trying to see "what are these devices", even under the routers main configuration page.
How can i see what these devices are so i can either keep them or delete them?

It's definitely a challenge to test your mobile sites and applications without access to physical devices. There are a couple of approaches you can take:
Try a mobile simulator like Apache Ripple (free and open source). A simulator like Ripple will use your locally installed browser to try and simulate mobile conditions (screen size, device apis, etc.).http://ripple.incubator.apache.org/
Install a native emulator for the various mobile OS. You can get the native emulator by installing the various SDKs. For example, the Android Developer Tools for Eclipse include an emaulator that can launch an instance of Android on your desktop. Once you have an emulator running, you can install apps and use the browser to preview your work.
Use a device subscription service like Browser Stack. These services are great because they give you instant access to a range of desktop and mobile browsers w/o having to buy any devices.

I wanted to use the function of stand by of the PC.
I wanted also that the peripheral ones were extinguished once in stand by.
Once set up this function the PC goes regularly in stand by but the peripheral ones connected through usb remain ignited, additional masterize type, a peripheral one usb wi.fi, etc
Someone has said to me that perhaps some functions in the Bios are not set up in order to make that once entered in stand by the PC extinguish also all the peripheral ones connected.
Which verifications and configuration I must carry out in the bios of the PC?
How us within in the bios? Pressing which keys?

Detect device over ethernet

Hi Everyone,
I would like to know how do i detect device connected over ethernet by using labVIEW?
My require is:
I have to develop a code which detect any device connected to ethernet port.(The external device which is connected to ethernet port may be anything)
I would like to get the IP of the device connected to my ethernet port using labVIEW.
It will be really grateful if anyone can help me to resolve this.

A brute force method which is commonly used is to send a ping packet to every IP address in the subnet(s) you are interested in. This is not guaranteed to work since some devices will not reply to ICMP ping packets for security reasons. Another approach which again guaranteed to work and will more likely find fewer devices would be to send a SNMP request for the system description (1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0) . If a device supports SNMP they will generally respond to this request.
Many devices, especially network infrastructure devices, will not be easily managed. They will have security enabled to limit access to them. Part of this security will be to limit what types of communications they will accept and who they will talk to. Simply finding an IP address active on a network will not provide you with too much information about the type of device it is and how you may communicate with it. There are lots of network protocols out there and many devices have very specific ones they use. A general purpose network manager that can find and communicate with anything on the network is a daunting task and one that most likely will not be possible to implement. At best you will be able to find a subset of devices. As I mentioned even the most basic ping packet will not guarantee you will find everything.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade but trying to let you know that you are trying to accomplish something that will most likely impossible to actually do. Probably the most effective way, but not very practical, to at least find eveything would be to implement a port scanner that would exhaustively go through every IP address in your desired range and attempt to establish a connection on every TCP port (you could stop once you get a response). If a device is on the network it more than likely will communicate on at least one TCP port. All this would tell you though is that there is a device at that IP address that communicates using port x. However, as I cautioned before this type of activity will very quickly get the attention of the network staff managing the network you do this on.

How can i airplay from my mac connected through ethernet to an aple tv 2 on wifi

Hi everyone..
im having troubles using Airplay on my mac.. i connect my mac to the internet and home network using an ethernet connection to my router (non apple branded router) .. my apple tv 2 is connected to my home wifi network from the same router.. when i first set up my apple tv.. i was able to see the Airplay icon on itunes and it would let me Airplay media from my mac to my apple tv.. however.. it disconnects after a little while.. same thing with viewing my itunes library from apple tv.. i was able to detect my shared library from the apple tv.. i was able to play some media but then it disconnected after some time.. but now.. the Airplay icon doesnt show up in itunes anymore.. and i cant see my shared library from my apple tv neither.. ive looked around for a solution and followed the tip to turn the ipv6 off.. it worked for some time but now the problem is back..
i know the obvious solution is to connect my mac to the same wireless network as my apple tv.. but i would like to keep it connected through ethernet..

I wouldn't say that was the obvious answer at all, my Mac is connected by ethernet and 6 of my 7 Apple TV's are connected by wifi, I haven't had any of your problems. The problem is most likely on your network.
Intermittent problems
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.
Consistent Problems
A frequent cause of consistent failure to enable AirPlay or HomeSharing at all, is the service being blocked on the network. Make sure your network isn't hidden, has a unique name, that MAC address authentication is disabled, security is set to use WPA 2 Personal and that there is only one router/device acting as a DHCP server and providing NAT services.

It sounds like there is an issue with the Mac itself.

Even if you cannot connect by ethernet, at current location.. you can simply disconnect the TC from the network and bring it to the Mac and plug it in by ethernet. The TC can be reset if you haven't got a suitable current setup (save previous setup before you change it) and run just as backup device.. do the backup and then return it to the network.
If this is just a standard incremental backup.. then something has broken. The issue is not the TC pe se but failure in hardware somewhere.

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

Apple TV (1G) doesn't appear in devices list when connected via ethernet

After upgrading to OS X Lion and iTunes 10.4 my Apple TV (1G) doesn't appear in the devices list when connected via ethernet. When I switch to wireless lan the device is shown and the sync process starts but can't copy the new films. The copy operation stops every time and sometines the device disappears from the list.
Despite of the upgrading of OS X and iTunes all the settings are unchanged.
Anyone an idea?

Since my last update, I've gathered more information. I'm almost certain this is not entirely a 10.7.1 issue, if an issue in 10.7.1 at all. 10.7.1 may have changed something that caused this issue to appear,but where I was having this problem weekly if not daily, I no longer have the problem. I changed routers. I was using a new D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit RouterDIR-655. This router was causing me pain with lock ups. I replaced it with a Cisco Linksys E4200. I have not had a lockup in over 2 months now and not one sync issue with Apple TV nor my new iPhones, which sync wireless to iTunes on my Mac Pro.
Thinking about how my network is wired leads me to believe the issue was in the router, or maybe a network communication change in 10.7.1 that the DIR-655 was not supporting correctly. My MacPro and a few other hardwired access points in my house go directly to the router. My AppleTV and Airport Extreme are connected to a Gigabit switch and the Gigabit switch is then connected to the router. I also turn off the wireless capabilities in my routers, as I prefer to let my Airport Extreme handle those duties. This all means my normal hardwired communication path from my Mac Pro to Apple TV was going through the router, to the switch, to the Airport Extreme and then to my AppleTV. My Apple TV is connected to the LAN port on the Airport extreme. By going wireless on the MacPro, I was bypassing the router altogether.
As I started out saying, since I replaced my router, my sync issues have also gone away. If your having Apple TV sync issues, you might want to look at the router as well. Also, while I can’t remember the exact settings, I had opened up or enabled UPnP and other router settings in the DIR-655 to see if that would resolve the sync issues and it did not. In the end, I just spent the money and bought a new router and life is good now.

How to share internet connection over wifi to an ethernet decive using airport express?

Hi i have a device that it can only be connected to the internet via ethernet in a diferent room (and far) where my primary internet connection is. I have my network configured like this: cable modem >>> connected via ethernet >>> to airport time capsule >>> connectes via wi fi >>> to airport express last generation "n" >>> connected via ethernet cable to device. The problem is that i'm not having internet conection in my ethernet connected device. Anyone know if I have to configure something in some special way or if i'm doing something wrong?

It should work fine..
To figure this out, check if the Express is connected by wireless properly and getting an IP.. you will see that in airport utility.
Make sure you are set to either extend or join the wireless network. The Express should then pass an IP to the "device".
No luck start over.. reset everything to factory.
If the TC is older model use 7.6.1 firmware.. it works much better for extend wireless.
Use short names.. 2-20 characters no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Then set the Express again in extend wireless mode.
It is pretty easy in v6 airport utility. Look at the posts from Bob Timmons on how to extend wireless.. he must have answered those question a thousand times in the last few years.

Is a device w/an ethernet connection REALLY needed to modify wifi password?

I'm not all that tech savvy. About 6 years ago my son helped us set up our wifi and router. We opted to NOT have a password as we were the only home in the area at the time and never understood the risks of unlocked despited being lectured by our son. Times have changed, a development went in where farms used to be and now we have decided to use a password. I've looked up how to do so witelessly and have accessed the screens and now what needs to be done, BUT I'm leary to do so as all the tutorials I've look at seem to suggest an ethernet connection is needed. The issue is we have no devices with an ethernet port. We use our wifi for our mobile devices, tablets, smartTV and Roku. My son now lives in another state. Is the ethernet really needed to simply add a password? Or is there another way to handle this. Thank you!

Hi! An ethernet cable is only required to establish a connection with the router. Since you've been connected to the router wirelessly, there's no need to connect a cable connection anymore. Not surprising since there is no such thing.
Connections only go from computer to computer. When you send email your computer connects to a computer. And it sends the email to it.
When you try to connect to www.yahoo.com your computer connects to a computer. It gets an address. Then it tries to connect to that address.
And every time I said 'connect' about there are very likely other "computers" involved in the transaction.
And if any of those devices fail then you won't connect.
Notice in the above that there is no "internet". There are just computers and connections.
So now that you know what is happening you will now know how to code your own solution.
Or you can provide more detail as to exactly what you are trying to determine so that a more specific answer can be given.

Our home network has multiple devices connected by iCloud. Having problem with Calendar. On one iMac, all the events are duplicated. How can I correct that problem? Under the Calendar accounts, I had my Apple id listed and also just iCloud.

duplicated on my husbands iMac. On his computer, under Calendar accounts, I had included iCloud and also my iCloud ID. I thought that because I had two accounts listed that were connected to iCloud, that might be the cause of the duplication. When I deleted ithe calendars from one of the accounts, it resulted
in deleting all of the events on all of our network devices!
I have since entered some new events into Calendar from my iMac and from my iPhone. These appear correctly on all devices except my husband's iMac where they are again all duplicated.
I have two questions: 1) How can I eliminate the duplicated events on my husband's computer and 2) How do I retrieve the old wiped out Calendar events from
Time Capsule. I don't know how to find Calendar in the Time Capsule. If I find the Calendar information in Time Capsule, how do I transfer it to my current Calendars?

You can create a new Apple ID and password for the iPad but none of the content downloaded using the Apple ID associated with the four devices will be available on the iPad.
Create new > Apple - My Apple ID
It's not possible to use two passwords with one Apple ID.
