How to determine if a version of a SPD workflow is already running?

I have many workflows that start on change which are currently running fine. The issue is when I modify the workflow, I end up with multiple copies of the workflow (previous & current versions) running. Is there a built in value that I
can use as a condition so new instances of the workflow can be stopped?
My other option is to use/update a field eg [WF-01]=Running and read that when new instances of the workflow start but I am assuming there is a better way that is built in?

It seems very strange that there is no built in way to prevent multiple instances of a changed/updated workflow that starts on "Change".
I have not tried this but at this point it seems like I may need to resort to manually managing workflows that start on change to avoid multiple instances after a change, as I stated in my original posting. Can someone tell me if they see an issue with this
approach?
Create a column to track if a workflow is running, eg WF01 or Named to reference the WF you want to track, with values Running & Completed.
Somewhere near the top of the workflow add a condition to check if the value of WF01 is Running?
If FALSE add an "update/set item" to set the value of WF01 to Running
At the end of your workflow add another update to set the value of WF01 to Completed
NOTE: Sad I have to do this manually because it does cause 2 additional changes to the list item and if there are other workflows that start on change, this will trigger them 2 more times so additional logic may need to be added to these other
workflows as well.

    Hi, All
How to determine, which version of RMS (13.0.0, 13.0.1 etc) is installed?

    Hi,
In the staging directory from which RMS was installed locate the build.xml file for the application, not the DB. You'll find a line in it similar to this:
    <property name="rms.version" value="13.0.1" />

  • How to determine the JDK version required to use a jar?

    Hi all.
I am using a hosted server that uses JDK 1.4.2 and I cannot upgrade the VM. I have been finding it extremely difficult to install web applications on this server since I find that after installing the app, the web server complains the bytecode used in the jar is newer than the VM can understand (or it complains that the app uses JEE servlet or JSP methods it cannot find).
To compound the problem, only about 25% of the sites I've visited that provide jars for download mention the minumum JDK version required to use them. (Some do not mention any system requirements at all besides 'requires Java and a Java application server').
Do any of you know of any tools that can analyze a jar and determine the bytecode version it uses?
(Another helpful tool would be one that can determine the minimum JEE APIs required to run a web app..., but that's probably wishful thinking :)).
    Thanks for your help.

The major/minor version of the class file is the way to go.
Also, it's not necessary to write a separate program to get to those. javap prints them out when being passed the -v flag.
Note, however that "JDK version" is not a correct term, as I can create 1.4-compatible class files with a Java 6 JDK (by passing the -target flag to javac). Those won't look any different than .class files written with a 1.4 JDK.

Firefox Beta 5 on Mac OS X offers to update itself from time-to-time. The auto-update message does not indicate either the current or new version (e.g., 5.0b3). And "About Firefox" simply says "5.0".

The developers have made that very hard to find. I hope that they go back to showing in Help > About Firefox so that users can more easily find that information.

  • When I attempt to open firefox an error message appears telling me that firefox is already running, but I can't find it running. How do I do so or in any case close the already running Firefox process?

When I attempt to open Firefox instead of Firefox opening, an error message appears saying "Firefox is already running but isn't responding. To open another window please close the existing Firefox process or restart the system.", but I can't find that process of Firefox in order to kill it, and after restarting the system there is still the problem. I have found an emergency fix to at least get online, and that is to use"Firefox_Profile_Manager" in the start menu's "run" start menu, but the
Firefox that then opens is that one doesn't carry over what I had in my bookmarks but starts bookmarks anew.

Sounds like it is hanging when you exit and later try to restart Firefox.

  • How to determine video driver version?

Is there any way to determine the version of the Nvidia video driver that's being used on my system? I've checked the Graphics/Displays section of System Information, but it's pretty vague. I didn't realize that, actually. So the video drivers are embedded within the OS, then? And the CUDA drivers are the upgradable thing?

  • How to Determine which IOS version is new

    Hi
When I have a few IOS versions such as 12.3(2) , 12.3.(3)B and 12.3(2)T how do I know out of these three which one is the newest and which one is the oldest?
Also is there a 12.4 for the 2500 series routers?
    Your help is much appreciated!
    Many thanks!

    Hi Omal,
To some degree you are comparing apples and oranges here. As mentioned by another poster, IOS is released in several different "trains," and it can be hard to compare between them. So, 12.3(2)T is a (T)echnology train, meaning it has new features and bug fixes integrated with each release. 12.3(2) by itself is a mainline train, which generally just has bug fixes committed. Cisco works on both trains at the same time, integrating bug fixes into mainline code, and new features and bug fixes into the T-train. In addition to "T", other letters are often placed at the end of the IOS release for specialized IOS's for certain product lines, such as the Cat 6K or 10000 series.
So, the short answer would be this: I recommend comparing IOS's within their train and not between trains. There can be substantial differences.
Are you looking at a bug and trying to determine where it is fixed, or is this just a general question?

  • How to determine the Java version in Windows XP

In Windows 2000, I can determine the version of Java that's running by typing 'java -version' in a command prompt. However, when I type this in a command prompt in Windows XP, a message says 'java is not recognized as an internal or external command ...'.
Is there some other means of determining the version of Java that's running on Windows XP?
    Thank you.

I found the directory with java.exe on my XP client. After updating my Path and then typing 'java -versions' I still see a 'java not found message'. No problem though - a README.TXT says that I have JRE 1.1.7B.
One final question - a co-worker who also has XP just starting seeing a pop-up window saying 'Runtime' error when running a Java applet. His java.exe is in a path that includes the sub-directory 'JRE' On my XP client, java.exe is in a path which includes a 'JRE11' sub-directory. We therefore seem to have different versions of the JRE. Since I don't see the Runtime error when running the same applet, should my co-worker try upgrading his JRE?
    Thank you.

  • How can I verify what version of IE11 (32 or 64) is running on a 64 bit version of Windows 7

    Hello,
I recently upgraded from IE8 to IE 11. In the past when I would run ie8 from the Programs(86) folder it would indicate it was the the 32 bit version in the task manager by having an entry for iexplorer.exe *32
For IE11, the *32 does not show in the task manager.
How can I verify IE11 is running in *32 mode? I am trying to troubleshoot some active X controls that have known problems with IE11 *64 but I can't seem to verify which version  I am running. Note I launch IE11 from the Program Files (86) directory
but I still would like some verification on what version is actually running. I am concerned because I am not seeing the *32 in task manager.

In IE10+, on a 64bit PC the frame (outer window) is always 64bit. The tabs are generally 32bit unless you've enabled Enhanced Protected Mode or are running inside Win8+ Metro environment.

  • How do I tell which version of FF 4 beta I'm running?

Usually there's an "About" link that gives you the version number. I can't tell which version I'm on. I thought it was .10, but the feedback button tells me I'm not on the latest version.

I finally figured it out. You have to click on the "Firefox" button at top, and then hover over the "arrow" next to "Help."
That's not even remotely intuitive. I kept clicking on "Help" and go the help page. By accident I hovered over the arrow and saw the sub-menu pop up. The sub-menu should pop up when you hover over "Help"
