How to disable check in/check out in a document library?

We have a library but would want to use it as regular network folder. Users don't want to see the check in/check out option. Is there a way to disable that? thanks in advance.

If you want to disable both check in/ check out context menu items in the document library then see the following link which describes how to add custom menu items to a document library via a hidden "content editor web part". Add that to your web part page and add the following to the "source editor"

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to disable drag and drop feature for a document library.
Drag and drop in SharePoint 2013 is a feature that depends on HTML5, which requires version of browser, SharePoint by default doesn’t has feature to disable or enable this.
You can try disabling the drag and drop feature by disabling an add-on in Internet Explorer, or
using Internet Explorer 9 or lower.

How to disable CD-DRIVE checking, while using a Dolphin file manager

Hello.
I would like ask for a help. I have one problem that's quite annoying. It is related to checking cd-drive when using a dolphin file menager. It always cheecks it when Dolphin is launched from K or launcher on taskbar for the first time, again it happens when i close it and open again.
Is there a way to disable checking of cd-drive in Dolphin? This behaviour occurs on KDE with all linux system that i checked: Slackware, Arch, Kubuntu. Look at this:

I would like to disable it in order to speed up opening Dolphin, launching it.

Udisks2 is what dolphin uses to handle external drives of all kinds (USB, optical, etc). Udisks is an automounting tool that allows normal users to mount disks. The permission handling before was handled with consolekit and has now been replaced by systemd-logind (which is much better anyway). So what I am suggesting is that it might be that dolphin is using udisks2 as the tool that polls for the existence of a disc in your optical drive.
Unfortunately, it is a bit more confusing than that because udisks2 is the replacement for the original udisks. It is totally different and not compatible. So I remember seeing a way to turn off optical drive polling, but I cannot remember if it was udisks or udisks2. But it was done with a udev rule.
So I think if you tried to google for "udisks optical (or cd or dvd) polling" or something like that, you might be able to figure out how this is done.
Edit: unfortunately, I do not use dolphin or udisks2. But I do have the original udisks installed.
Edit2: It seems that the method I remembered is for the original udisks.

How to disable login mail checking?

I would like to disable the mail checking on each login: I am not interested in seeing "No new mail" or else each time I login in a console. In other distributions, there was a specific setting in /etc/login.defs:
MAIL_CHECK_ENAB = no
I do not find this option in the arch /etc/login.defs, nor it is mentioned in man login or man login.defs; trying to set it anyway results in login complianing about badformed configuration file.
I also tried to comment out both MAIL_DIR and QMAIL_DIR, but without success.
Is there an other method to get this result? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have finally solved this issue, after only 4 months (it was my first issue using archlinux). Since the most part of shadow functionality is managed by pam, /etc/login.defs is not used at all. I had to edit /etc/pam.d/login. I had to comment out this line in that file:
# session optional pam_mail.so dir=/var/spool/mail standard
I am very satisfied, I hated those unuseful "No new mail"

Client requires a common infotype be used across countries. For France and Italy I'm not able to set the IT0021 to the standard one. As SAP by default uses the Cpountry specific Infotpe.
How to Disable this feature of SAP.

How to Disable InfoUpdate(spinf) check for PO creation

Dear All,
I got requirement to Disable InfoUpdate(SPINF) check when PO is created(ME21n).
Long back for this Project our Team did some configuration(SPRO) for Order Type (Standard PO) this InfoUpdate(SPINF) should be checked by default.
But know they don't want to create a PO with InfoUpdate(SPINF) check for ONE specific Plant(EKPO-WERKS).
I tried to find User Exit and BAPI, But I not able to find the exact one to Disable InfoUpdate(SPINF) check based on the condition Plant(EKPO-WERKS).
So, can some one give me solution to Disable InfoUpdate(SPINF) check.

Try to use customize InfoPath form, add rules. Go to list tab, click customize Form, then this opens the list form in InfoPath
format.
1.Select the check box field control, click add rules, select if is blank, show validation error action.
2.Then go to conditions, click column name is blank, change it to the required column you want.
3.Go to rule type, click validation, change it to formatting, select hide this control.
4.Publish the InfoPath form.

How to disable all ssl checking - sec_error_ca_cert_invalid

Is it possible to disable all SSL checking of any kind within firefox?

I have already set mozillapkix to false. I do not want to have to import self-signed certs for all my servers into firefox. I also deal with 'broken ssl', like incomplete certificate chains, etc.. on load balancers, or other odd devices.
I had a version of nightly that was working with mozillapkix set to false, but it looks like it auto-updated:( so it is at 33.0.2 now, and no longer likes my self-signed certs again. (Which reminds me I need to turn off auto-update if possible).
If there is no way to completely disable ssl checking in Firefox, is there a nightly build version, or prior build version (I forget what version this new ssl checking began), that I can use that will avoid this stringent ssl checking (why there is no 'add exception' is still confusing...)?

If this is a major headache, you can use the Extended Support Release version of Firefox 31. I believe the preference to disable use of PKIX still works in that version. You could test with the "Portable Apps" build first before switching.

How to Auto Check-in .pdf Files in a Document library(after Drag & Drop) - sharepoint 2013?

Once I Drag and drop the .pdf documents in a document library files get
checked out automatically.
I want the files to be checked-in automatically once they are dragged and Dropped.
Please note : I am able to do the above things with .doc (world files) but not with the
.pdf files.
I have provided all the default values. Tried all the below options Still no success :-(
Require Content Approval for submitted items ? NO
Create a version each time you edit a file in this document library ? No visioning
Require documents to be check out before they can be edited? No

Hi,
I found the problem(Not the solution).
I have set the default values from Column default value settings,
the default values are getting set to the columns but the file still in checked-out mode.
If I put the defult values to Library columns directly/Site column directly , Its working fine. - We found this work-around.
But still the issue Exists why its not working when I set Default values from Column default value settings
and try to drag and drop documents. :-(

Checked out Files in Document Library Will Not Check in

We recently moves our SharePoint Installation to a new domain, and now any documents that were checked out at the time cannot be checked in or deleted.
When anyone(the original person that hecked out the file, or an administrator) tries to check the file in or discard checkout it says the file is already checked in.
If anyone tries to delete or modify the file it says that it is checked out or locked for editing.
We changed both domain and authentication types, so technically, none of the old users even exist anymore.

As a test, can you try logging into one of the libraries with these files as an admin and seeing if you can take ownership of it via the document library settings. From here try checking it in again and advising what happens.

How can i check in an eventreceiver of a document library if a file i getting renamed

i have a document library with an eventreceiver. I am using the events itemadded, itemupaded and itemfilemoved. When i rename a file the event itemfilemoved is called. But how can i check now if this call is from a rename action?
I saw that there is properties.ListItem.Name but there is no properties.BeforeProperties.ListItem.Name or properties.AfterProperties.ListItem.Name.
Has someone an idea?

Hi,
Use the ItemFileMoving(SPItemEventProperties) event.
This will get fired before moving the document. So the
properties.ListItem.Name will be old name and for new name use
string fileName = properties.AfterUrl;
//split it when it gets to /
string[] nFileName = url.Split('/')
//return only the file name
fileName = nFileName[1];

How to disable "Edit in browser" button in office documents that open in browser

sharepoint 2010
installed Office Web app
i installed office word apps and integrated it with sharepoint 2010 and all the office documents now open in the browser. but this also give the qualified users access to the button "Edit in Browser" while viewing the document in the browser (and if the user
selects to do this and saves then it creates an office 2010 document in the document library), is there any way to disabled the "edit in browser" option completely for all the users, i dont want any users to edit documents online.

Ok so i came up with hack to 'hide' the edit link ..
You need to edit the css file here on your server
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\INC\1033\WordViewer\WordViewer.css
and add this
div [title="Edit in Browser"]{display:none};
And to hide the edit capabilties for Powerpoint app - add this jquery

Obviously not great solutions, but works for now.

How to create column for attachment in SharePoint 2013 Document Library.

I've created document Library where user can upload the file while click on Upload option (OOTB).
Now in this Library I want to create one more column where user can put some comment and attach one more file for reference.
For comment I can create "Single line of text" type calumn where user can put some comment but for attachment not sure which type of column I have to create.
Want to know is there OOTB feature/column available which I can use to Add / create a one more column to upload a document for reference.

To manage the permissions for a Document Set, you must have at least the Design or Full Control permission level.
On the Welcome Page for the Document Set, click the Manage tab of the Document Set ribbon, and then click Permissions.
Do one of the following:
To change the permission settings for the document library itself, click Manage Parent.
To stop inheriting permissions from the document library and create unique permissions for this Document Set individually, click Stop Inheriting Permissions.
To view the specific permissions an individual has, click Check Permissions, and then type the name of the user or group you want to check.
To inherit permissions from the parent document library (if the Document Set was previously configured to stop inheriting them) click Inherit Permissions.
