How to display data in combo box from xml file.

Hi All,
        I have the data in xml file.
  <jukebox>
    <song>
        <title>When the Levee Breaks</title>
        <artist>Kansas Joe and Memphis Minnie</artist>
        <url>delhi601(www.songs.pk).mp3</url>
    </song>
    <song>
        <title>Better Leave that Stuff Alone</title>
        <artist>Will Shade</artist>
        <url>delhi601(www.songs.pk).mp3</url>
    </song>
    <song>
        <title>Walk Right In</title>
        <artist>Cannon's Jug Stompers</artist>
        <url>delhi601(www.songs.pk).mp3</url>
    </song>
</jukebox>
and i want to display the only url in combo box list. for that how can load this xml file and how can i show.
Can any one help me.
thanks
Raghu.

Raghuvasa,
Get the XML file data into an XML variable in your code, say var jukebox: xml. Then do
combo.dataProvider = jukebox.song.url
or as a shortcut
combo.dataProvider = jukebox.descendants("url")
The latter will pull out elements with tag name url at any depth in the xml structure, so sometimes you have to be careful, but in your case there should be no problem.

    data at this point will be some number between 0 and 7 and
    your appended
    return.
    > WriteExtFile("list2.txt", data)
    >
    > Read the data from txt :
    > data := ReadExtFile("list2.txt")
    This will again be a string that contains a number and a
    return.
    > Convert string to list :
    > id_list := [:]
    Before, you are populating id_list with a single number that
    is the _ID_ of
    the winCtrl . Now, you are changing it to an empty property
    list. Why?
    > AddProperty(data^id_list,controls ,GetLine(data,1))
    The first parameter of AddProperty is supposed to be the name
    of a variable
    which is a property list. As such, you couldn't use a
    concatenated
    expression there. Even if you could, an Authorware variable
    cannot begin
    with a number, which data always will in this instance. It
    also cannot
    contain a return. _And_ the characters "[:]" are not valid
    parts of a
    variable name either. Next, you're trying to add a property
    that looks
    something like:
    "Button\rCheckBox\rCheckListBox\rColorCombo\rComboBox\rDriveCombo\rEdit..."
    While a property list _can_ have strings instead of symbols
    as the keys to
    the values, this is not documented or officially supported.
    Even if it
    were, you _cannot_ have a key with returns in it, and I have
    no idea why
    you'd want to!
    Here are the steps you should be using:
    1) Create your WinCtrl and store its ID in a regular numeric
    value (I'll
    call it wcID for convenience)
    2) Set its Items property to listing.
    3) Check for the existence (FileType) of your file with the
    value of the
    winCtrl in it. If it exists, set the value property of wcID
    to the contents
    of the file.
    4) You're using wcS as your change event, so set up a
    conditional on false
    to true with wcS as the condition.
    5) Inside that response, write the "value" property (without
    the return) of
    the wcID control to file.

  • How load text into dynamic text boxes from external file?

    hi all,
    my animation is very simple - a background image and 2 text boxes.  one of the textboxes shows a large word, which crossfades to another word, with a total of about 12 words (showing one at a time in different text boxes fading in & out in the same spot).
    i need a way to have the text be imported dynamically via xml or json (xml preferred).  this article is a good start, but i noticed he's putting all of the text into one box - i need separate strings put into separate boxes from the xml.
    Chris Gannon - Loading XML via AJAX into Adobe Edge
    he uses
    var outputField = $(this.lookupSelector(“xmlOutput”));
    for his text box.  what would be the best way to revise this code to include all my individual strings to be loaded into my individual text boxes?  thinking an array might work, but my js skills are limited.
    any other suggestions or tutorials you could point me to would be appreciated.
    thanks!!

    thanks joel_pau !
    this is helpful in seeing how the array is created, but after giving it a go I became a little confused.
    i wound up trying it again based on the example i linked out to previously, but it's not adding the text from my xml file when previewing.
    here's the code i'm using in edge animate on my stage.  something must be wrong somewhere.  let me know if you have any suggestions on this.

  • How to know date and time information from Trace File defaultTrace.X.trc?

    Hi, all.
      i'm using EP 6.0 SP9 patch 1.
      As you know, default trace is written in the <SID>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\defaultTrace.X.trc.
      By using the default trace formatter, it shows like the following sample messages.
    #1.5#0011110E7B2000590000000100000A100003EC71562E6EBC#1104396451585#com.sap.jms.server.ServerClientAdapter##com.sap.jms.server.ServerClientAdapter#Guest#18####716257115a3f11d9b73b0011110e7b20#SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_23##0#0#Error#1#/Applications/JMS#Plain###JMS internal error at ServerClientAdapter! JMS Service is not started!#
      My questions are
      1. how do we retrieve the date and time information from the above message? It seems that this message has date and time info because LogViewer shows the date and time based on the above message.
      2. how do we change the above date format to easier one
    like "YYYY:MM:DD:hh:mm:ss"? i know that it can be configured from the Visual Admin --> Services --> Log Configurator but i don't know the exact place for the trace file.
      Thanks.

    Hi Sejoon,
    I use the standalone Logviewer to read the log files. Works great.
    "If you have an SAP Web Application Server Java 6.20 or below you may also get a standalone_logviewer.zip file at the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/download &#8594; SAP NetWeaver &#8594; Release ‘04. In this case JDK version 1.3 or higher must be installed on the system. The java version must be same on the server and the client.
    In the SAP Web AS Java 6.30 installation a folder named logviewer_standalone can be found under: <path Of J2EE installation>/<SysID>/JC<nr>/j2ee/admin/logviewer_standalone. Verify that the batch file logviewer.bat is installed in the directory logviewer-standalone.

  • Need help with how to store data in array in from reading file

    i have a file named xxx.txt
    i need to retreive data from that file. the data that i want to retrieve is enclosed with << >>
    temp xxx-123 ccc << 90.5>>
    haha xxx-563 sss 85.2
    after a few lines, the another record appear.
    temp2 xxx-123 ccc << 190.5>>
    haha2 xxx-563 sss 885.2
    i would like to record down the data, 90.5 & 190.5, how do i go about doing so, will appreciated it if someone would guide me along. thanks

    After you have read a line from the file either
    find the location of << and >> and substring the stuff in between or
    use regex (regular expression) however this is advanced and may be beyond your level of understanding.

  • How to convert date which is coming from a file

    Hi All,

    Hi,
    Even if I'm using JavaEmbeddedActivity also i'm getting an error. Please have alook at the below code once
    import java.text.DateFormat;
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    import java.util.Date;
    public class ConvertDateToStringExample {
    public static void main(String args[]){
    DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-nn-yyyy hh:mm:ss");
    //to convert Date to String, use format method of SimpleDateFormat class.
    String strDate = dateFormat.format(getVariableData('inputVariable','payload','/client:process/client:Date'));
    System.out.println("Date converted to String: " + strDate);
    Error Message:
    Error(21,33): Failed to compile bpel generated classes.
    failure to compile the generated BPEL classes for BPEL process "DateProcess" of composite "default/DateProcess!1.0"
    The class path setting is incorrect.
    Ensure that the class path is set correctly. If this happens on the server side, verify that the custom classes or jars which this BPEL process is depending on are deployed correctly. Also verify that the run time is using the same release/version.
    Well it's not at all allowing me to insert the format while passing the input arguments.

  • How to Display number of Records in Single XML  file

    Hi,
    In My SAP MDM DataManager I have a table called Location it contains 3 Fields. And  Having 10000 Records in that.
    When I am trying to make xml file through MDM Syndication Manager it is creating 10000 xml files.
    I don't want to that much files and I need all the Records in a Single XML    File, how can I do that in MDM Syndication server.
    I have changed xsd:element attribute maxoccurs="unbound"
    but there is no property like that.
    I am using SAP MDM 5.5 with SP 4.
    how can I see all my records in single XML file.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ashok.

    hi,
    To syndicate all XML records in single XML file:
    follow the steps:
    1. u201CIn the Destination Items pane, click on the  root ( for product repository  - Product).
    2. u201CIn the Properties pane, for the Repeatable XML Node field, uncheck its u201CInheritu201D flag and check its flag in the u201CValueu201D column as shown below.  This will cause all records to be syndicated into one XML file.u201D
    3. In the item mapping tab:
    In the Source Items page, select the root node,
    . u201CIn the Destination Items pane, select the Products node and map it,
    and do the remaining source and destination fields mapping,
    now you will get all records in single XML file.
    hope this may help you,
    Regards,
    Srinivas

  • How to display data from a recordset based on data from another recordset

    How to display data from a recordset based on data from
    another recordset.
    What I would like to do is as follows:
    I have a fantasy hockey league website. For each team I have
    a team page (clubhouse) which is generated using PHP/MySQL. The one
    area I would like to clean up is the displaying of the divisional
    standings on the right side. As of right now, I use a URL variable
    (division = id2) to grab the needed data, which works ok. What I
    want to do is clean up the url abit.
    So far the url is
    clubhouse.php?team=Wings&id=DET&id2=Pacific, in the end all
    I want is clubhouse.php?team=Wings.
    I have a separate table, that has the teams entire
    information (full team name, short team, abbreviation, conference,
    division, etc. so I was thinking if I could somehow do this:
    Recordset Team Info is filtered using URL variable team
    (short team). Based on what team equals, it would then insert this
    variable into the Divisional Standings recordset.
    So example: If I type in clubhouse.php?team=Wings, the Team
    Info recordset would bring up the Pacific division. Then 'Pacific'
    would be inserted into the Divisional Standings recordset to
    display the Pacific Division Standings.
    Basically I want this
    SELECT *
    FROM standings
    WHERE division = <teaminfo.division>
    ORDER BY pts DESC
    Could someone help me, thank you.

    Assuming two tables- teamtable and standings:
    teamtable - which has entire info about the team and has a
    field called
    "div" which has the division name say "pacific" and you want
    to use this
    name to get corresponding details from the other table.
    standings - which has a field called "division" which you
    want to use to
    give the standings
    SELECT * FROM standings AS st, teamtable AS t
    WHERE st.division = t.div
    ORDER BY pts DESC
    Instead of * you could be specific on what fields you want to
    select ..
    something like
    SELECT st.id AS id, st.position AS position, st.teamname AS
    team
    You cannot lose until you give up !!!
