How to display JTextField over an Image

I want to put an image to background of an JPanel, and then add components to this panel, so components will be displayed over image.
How can I do this?
Thanks

Since you are using Swing there are at least two ways:
a) Subclass JComponent/JPanel/etc. and override
paintComponent() and draw the image.
b) Create a JComponent/JPanel/etc. that has OverlayLayout
as the LayoutManager. Add a JLabel (with your image).
Then add you other children.

  • How to display  servlet dynamically generated image ?

    Hi,
    How to display servlet dynamically generated image ?
    I have a servlet generating a buffered image in the doGet. I want to display the image in a jsp page with other information. I'm not able to get it properly displayed.
    **Try n# 1 **************************************************************
    This displays my image but nothing elle :
    ServletOutputStream sos = pResponse.getOutputStream();
    JPEGImageEncoder encoder = JPEGCodec.createJPEGEncoder(sos);
    encoder.encode(img);
    **Try n# 2 ****************************************************************
    I tried also :
    In the servlet :
         request.setAttribute("renderedImage", img);
    and in the jsp page :
         BufferedImage image = (BufferedImage) request.getAttribute("renderedImage");
         <img src="<%=ImageIO.write(image,"jpeg",response.getOutputStream())%>" width="300" height="280"/>
    This last try draws big crap in the jsp page, thank you in advance.

    Call another servlet from the IMG tag. Have the servlet stream out the image using ImageIO (instead of writing HTML).

  • How to display html content with image in Adobe Flash and Flex mobile project?

    Hi,
      I have a html content with image in it. How to display it in Adobe Flash Builder and Flex mobile project? Which control needs to be used for this?

    Hello,
    The only current way is to use an iFrame, or if you only need some html tags you could use the Text Layout Framework.
    Here this is the iFrame approach:
    http://code.google.com/p/flex-iframe/
    If the swc do not work in Flex4 just use its ource code which works...
    ...it is basically based on this:

  • How to display dynamically generated SVG image

    Hello, I need some help on this issue...
    I need my page to display programmatically generated SVG image. but if i directly pass SVG string to the page like <h:outputText value="#{MyBean.SVGresult}"/> it will pop up a download dialog box. what should i do to properly include my svg into the page by using embed tag??

    The h:graphicImage does not appear to handle svg; maybe it should be extended. I'm still looking for the best way to do it. I don't know if I have the right solution but here is what I have done so far. This will throw up a x, y polyline graph.
    Put a panelGrid as place holder in the jsp
          <h:panelGrid  title="Report" style="color=black" border="0" id="dataReports" columns="1" binding="#{dataAnalysis.dataReport}">
          </h:panelGrid>Then take a 'template' svg and fill it in with the dynamic additions and changes in the backing bean. In a submit action

  • How to display subtitles over videoComponent from getVisualComponent - JMF

    I'm writting video player and I have encountered a problem. Is there a possibility to add Component (or something else what could display text in) to Component that I got from JMF method getVisualComponent(). As this method returns Component I can't add subcomponent to it. I tired to add recived Component to LayeredPane and JPanel with subtitles to higher layer of LayeredPane, and it works if I force lightweight renderer. But I'd like to use OpenGL renderer (com.omnividea.media.renderer.video.OpenGLRenderer), and in this case I've got black background in topmost layer with subtitles (even with setOpaque(false) ). Is there possibility to display one Component over another Component (top most component should be with transparent background)?
    ps. If video is rendered by open gl renderer it is possible to draw with open gl in Canvas (instead of GLCanvas)? Precisly I've got HeavyComponent from getVisualComponent() that is subclass of Canvas.
    ps2. Or how to tie my component1 to component2 in a way that component1 gets paint event when component2 gets paint event or when component2 is repainted?
    ps3. Ok I figured out that problem with black background is thanks to havyweight component. If I add some component (lightweight component) on GlassPane it is above all lightweight components and below all heavyweight components. So is there a way to add lightweight component above heavy weight component in a way that lightweight component have transparent background?

    Gosh, talk about a confusing mess of questions...
    Heavyweight components will not go behind lightweight ones, which is why it's bad to mix heavy & lightweight components.
    And yes, you can draw on the video inside whatever is rendering the video. You'd just, essentially, draw the image and then draw whatever you want on top of the image.

    Hi Ashish,
    If I have understood your requirement properly, u want to
    display html text on a flex application.
    I think there its better if you use the html component to
    display the text. I have a sample code which will give you a
    direction to think on.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application

    layout="vertical"
    creationComplete="initApp( )">
    <mx:Script>
    <![CDATA[
    public function initApp( ):void
    var initHtml:String = "<html><head> \
    <title='Page Example'/> \
    <body bgcolor='#ccddee'><h1>Page
    Example</h1> \
    <p>This is a complete <b>HTML</b> \
    page as a
    <em>string</em>.</p></html></body>";
    this.html.htmlText = initHtml;
    ]]>
    </mx:Script>
    <mx:HTML id="html" width="100%" height="100%" />
    </mx:Application>
    Also do you want a file open dialog box??

  • How to display the archive link image in third party tool TSLImage viewer.

    Currently in our workflow scenario we are displaying the archivelink image in objects & Attachment, using SAP document viewer.  But the new requirement is, the attachment in workitem should be displayed using a thrid pary tool, EASY TSL IMAGE VIEWER. I have maintained the ARCHIVELINK Basic setting(OAG1),  Call Internet Browser.
    The viewing of the document MUST use the TSLImageViewer web application which is hosted on rte-ben-ez2 for the test system u2013 NOT the SAP web document viewer. I think there must be an option in SAP Workflow that specifies that the standard OLE viewing is used for the work item attachments rather than the EDM viewing that I am getting.
    The authorising of the document MUST use the TSLImageAuth web application which is also hosted on rte-ben-ez2 for the test
    system. The url that are putting into the email needs to have this format:
                    http://rte-ben-ez2/TSLImageAuth?docid=$(%23SAPLEVEL1)\ECC6ARC1\00000153.001&logarch=E1.
    E1 is the content repository used for displaying.
    Can anybody tell me in further workflow settings where to mention the viewer settings as use thrid party viewer.
    Thanks in advance

    I am using apache commons codec for encoding and decoding.
    I have base64 encoded image data, i am decoding this and trying to create an image icon object by passing decoded byte array.
    That encoded and decoded byte array is BMP formatted data.

    Could anyone please tell me how to displaying document file and image file that I've stored to database (8.1.7) using oracle portal. (I use intermedia data type).
    I've tried to follow the instruction given by Oracle LiveDemo, but it came with failure. (the image or document won't show up).

  • Making an active form over an image

    I want to place a form that will be made up of around 10
    boxes for address, details etc, OVER the top of an image.
    The website is made up of the image, but
    1: I cannot work out how to make this form
    2: I cannot work out how to place anything OVER the image....
    Also, once the form is in place, how can I get the data to be
    sent to an email address or database when they submit it?
    Thanks
    Alex

    Put the image in a table as background and create your form
    over it.
    Making the form is easy, just use the form elements in
    Dreamweaver.
    However, you need some type of scripting language for the
    form and/or some server support to make it work. That will depend
    upon your hosts features.

  • How to display non-URL-based thumbnail images in JTable

    I'm trying to display thumbnail images as a tooltip popup for certain cells in a JTable. The thumbnail images are java image objects that have been retrieved dynamically as the result of a separate process--there is no associated URL. For this reason, I can't use the setToolTipText() method of the JTable.
    My attempts to JTable's createToolTip() method also failed as it seems the ToolTipManager never calls this method for a JTable.
    As a workaround, I've added a MouseMotionListener to the JTable that detects when the mouse is over the desired table cells. However, I'm not sure how to display the popup over the JTable. The only component that I can get to display over the JTable is a JPopupMenu, but I don't want to display a menu--just the image. Can anyone suggest a way to display a small popup image over the table?
    Thanks.

    Thank You Rodney. This explains why my createToolTip() method wasn't being called, but unfortunately I'm no closer to my goal of displaying a true custom tooltip using a non-URL image rather than a text string. If I make a call to setToolTipText(), at any point, the text argument becomes the tooltip and everything I have tried in createToolTip() has no effect. However, as you pointed out, if I don't call setToolTipText(), the table is not registered with the tooltip manager and createToolTip() is never even called.
    To help clarify, I have attached an SSCCE below. Please note that I use a URL image only for testing. In my actual application, the images are available only as Java objects--there are no URLs.
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.net.URL;
    import java.net.MalformedURLException;
    public class Test {
        static Object[][] data = {

        static JTable testTable = new JTable(data, columnNames) {
            public JToolTip createToolTip() {
                System.out.println("testTable.createToolTip() called");
                Image testImage = getTestImage();

                JLabel customTipLabel = new JLabel(new ImageIcon(testImage));
                customTipLabel.setToolTipText("Custom ToolTip Text");
                JToolTip parentTip = super.createToolTip();
                parentTip.setComponent(customTipLabel);
                return parentTip;
        // This image is loaded from a URL only for test purposes!!!
        // Ordinarily, the image object would come from the application
        // and no URL would be available.
        public static Image getTestImage() {
            try {
                URL iconURL = new URL(testImageURLName);
                ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon(iconURL);
                return icon.getImage();
            catch (MalformedURLException ex) {
                JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame,
                        "Set variable \"testImageName\" to a valid file name");
                System.exit(1);
            return null;
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
            frame = new JFrame("Test Table");
            frame.setSize(300, 100);

    Keerthi,
    You cannot display a BLOB as image as it is. You need to convert them to display in your UI.
    Check out this blog on how to use a servlet to convert the blob into image and display in the page.
