How to display report in Acroat Reader?

Hi,
i have to display my reports in Acrobat reader. How is it possible to do it from reports? like i'm setting the Distribution property from the report's property palette but it doesn't seem to be working. Does it need any specific parameters to be set?

Hello,
To display report in Acrobat Reader, you have to execute your reports with DESFORMAT=PDF
On the web (rwcgi60), Acrobat Reader will be called automatically when DESFORMAT=PDF and DESTYPE=CACHE

Hi,
If you want to show a report only when there is a record on the page that is being edited, you can make the report region conditional on the hidden primary key page item being NOT NULL.
For example, if your page is to edit an EMP record, there would be a hidden P2_EMPNO page item on page 2. This page item will have a value when you are editing an existing record but will be NULL for a new record.
Edit you report region and go to the Condition, in the Condition Type setting, select Value of in Expression 1 is NOT NULL and in the Expression 1 setting enter in the page item name - for example P2_EMPNO

In Your code there is a line:
add_parameter(pl_id,'PARAMFORM',text_PARAMETER,'NO');
which actually disables the report parameter form.
The line:
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'|| vjob_id||
'?server=rep_mohahubkpcomp_ORaHOme_IAS'||'&userid=
bedman/bedman@bedman'||'&paramform=yes','_blank');
displays the report to which vjob_id refers. At this point the report is competed so the parameters userid and paramform are useless.

How to display reports in same portlet when clicked on report links in a menu portlet

I am not sure what forum I should ask this question. Anyway, I am trying in this forum.
Let me explain what I trying to do.
I have reports links as menu item links in a menu. I have published this menu to portal and added it to a page. I can now see the report links. If I now click on the report link, it opens the report in a whole window. How do I open the report in the same portlet? Is this possible to open the report in a different portlet at least?

Displaying Report in Web layout

Hello All,
Can anyone please tell me how to display reports in web layout during runtime. I've created a report in month_report.jsp, having both Web Layout & Paper Layouts. At runtime when I call the report the Paper Layout version is getting displayed. Is there any extra parameter I've to pass.
For Example if I give the following address
http://host-110:7778/reports/rwservlet?&report=month_report.jsp&destype=cache&desformat=htmlcss&userid=admin/test@testing&p_month=JANUARY
I get to see the Paper Layout version of the report. What I want is the Web layout. Is there any thing or any setting I've change in the Reports server. Kindly help me out on this.

I just want to know whether there's something wrong with the way I'm calling the report... May be thats the reason that I'm getting the Paper Layout as output instead of Web Layout.

Display Report Level Filter value and Input Controls Value

Hi,
Please let me know how to display Report Level Filter value and Input COntrol values in the report.
I have 2 tabs in the WebI Report. The first tab has the summary details about the other tabs like reprot desc, prompt values, reprot filter values,etc.
In the 2nd tab I have the actual report which has input controls defined, prompt values and global level report filters.
Can anyone please tell me how to display the Report level filter values and the Input Control values in the first tab report.
For ex: Tab 2 has a Report level filter: Region = NA
I need to display in Tab 1 in as Region: NA
I used the function ReportFilterSummary but that is giving me other details, I want only the object name and the value.
Also how to dispaly the Input Control values in the tab 1.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions for this issue.

did you try
=ReportFilter([Year])
if you are making report filter over the year, it will return the value of the filter
by the way, the filter should be applied over all the report not to a specific block to be able to get the correct value
the Input control also considered as report filter, only if you're applying them on the level of the report, if you applying an input contron over a specific block or chart, you will not get the values for ReportFilter

How to display special characters in APEX Classic Report column

I have created an classic SQL Report with one of the columns being a decode that gives a value 'Post'(the value should be highlighted in Red) on one condition and 'Pre' on another. I have followed the advice given in the page (URL provided above) , i.e. I have changed Strip HTML to 'No', changed Display as to 'Display as text (escape special characters, does not save state)'. I have also passed this value back to the same page to be stored in a page item each time a link (another column in report) in report is clicked. I have tried passing it as #DEADLINE# and \#DEADLINE#\. The issue I face is, instead of the value being highlighted in Red, it gets passed back as a string holding the value 'Post'. Is there any way I can get this to display as it should without the Strip HTML being changed to 'Yes'.

You can't pass HTML and CSS around in URL parameters.

decode(dept.deptno, '30', 'c00', '000') highlight The link column now passes the MGR ID and the HIGHLIGHT colour (red when the condition is satisfied and black when it is not).
I created another hidden and protected page item <tt>P0_HIGHLIGHT</tt> as the target for the highlight value, and used the Pre/Post Element Text properties of the <tt>P0_G_MGR</tt> to wrap it in a <tt>span</tt> whose colour is changed using the <tt>P0_HIGHLIGHT</tt> value as a subtitution string:
Having done that, I still don't really get the requirement here. I'm sure that given the full picture I'd be using a completely different approach...

How to display pagewise total in Oracle reports?

Hi,
I want to display pagewise total in all pages as well as report total at the last page of the report.
I have tried Reset at : Page, Print on : All pages
But nothing is working.
Please suggest what else I need to set to achieve the requirement

Create a user parameter for line count and another to hold the value of total at end of page,
create formula column in your query group, where the column to be summarised exists,
See how many lines of records/transaction can be printed on your page, count them in a formula column and when the printable record been retrived assign the total to
the user parameter you have created.
set the property 'PRINT OBJECT ON' to 'ALL BUT LAST PAGE'
put you summary item just below this field and set the property 'PRINT OBJECT ON' to 'LAST PAGE', the final total will be displayed on last page.
