How to do a SUM of all cells of a certain color?

I have a spreadsheet that I'm categorizing certain budget items by cell color. these are not in a row. I think there is a way with IF statements to select all the cells of a certain color that contain numbers and do a sum of them. This will allow for easy graphs of those categories.

Is there a way, using the cell formulas in Numbers, to say "sum of all the cells above this row"? I'm trying to make a ledger of sorts, and I want to have a column that is "how much you've spent so far" for each entry, which is the sum of all the "Price" cells for that row and above.

Formula that adds all cells of the same color?

I am trying to add all the cells that are of the same text color (or fill color if that is easier) so I can tabulate separate categories of information that are organized by color located throughout the spreadsheet. Is there a formula for this or a way to create a custom one that identifies the color of the cell/text?

How to get a summ of all previous values

Hello ALL,
Could you please give an advice on how to find the sums of all previous values in 1 select without using dynamic sql. Cross join is not a variant because of a huge response time.
OR may be there are any other ideas on how to find first rows with total sum equals to some general value? My idea is to find a sum of all preceding values and the first of such sums that would be equal to the general value or greater it is a necessary result.
For example we have goods receipts:
MATERIAL | BATCH | QTY
material1 batch1 1
material1 batch2 2
material1 batch3 3
material1 batch4 4
material1 batch5 5
material1 batch6 6
and general qty is 7 - it's our current stock. So I should take material from [batch1 to batch4] to get necessary QTY >=7 (1+2+3+4=10>7) So our current stock consists of batch1,batch2,batch3 and remains of batch4.

Sum of All Years in Year Dimension

I am trying to get the sum for an account of all years in the Year dimension. The cube is from a EPMA Planning 11.1.1.3 app. There are no Aggregation properties for the individual year members in the Year dimension. Any ideas on how to get the sum of all years?

You can use @SUMRANGE function to get the summation of all the values of the specified member across the specified range.
You can refer the below link for the syntax and example of SUMRANGE function.

NOTE - @SUMRANGE function does not accept a cross-dimensional parameter as a member name.

In Numbers 3, you can select a whole table by clicking once in the table to make it active, then click once on the "bull's eye" at the top left.
Now copy and paste. All formatting (and any cell content) is pasted intact. In Numbers 2.3 (Numbers '09) it is a little different for selecting a whole table. But I won't go into that unless you are using Numbers '09. Please reply.
I don't like the look of the tables in Insert Table. I keep custom tables in My Templates. I have set Numbers > Preferences > General > For New Documents > Use template: (name of my favourite custom template)
That opens when I launch Numbers, or ask for a new document (command n). Note that if you follow this preference setting, then Menu > File > New From Template Chooser (for another template) requires you to hold down the option key in that menu.

You should define your requirements properly for volunteers to help here..
Your data is not good enough to provide you accurate solution. Reason being you dont have a proper column which differentiates between first and last entry.
The solution becomes easy based on your desgin.
I have introduced a grouping column called "id" and a time column called "time_of_insert" (only this way you can confidently say that you can differentiate between first and last (also a fool proof solution) --- you may optionally use sequence(instead of date though if you say you may end up inserting two rows at the same time, then probably sequence would be a better choice to differentiate rather than a timestamp field) etc...)
With your sample data something like this can be done to achieve your desired result.

I am using the following rule to count all cells in a range that contain today's date:
=COUNTIF(D2:H2,TODAY())
What I would like to do is to extend this so that it counts all days that are either today or before today. I have tried a few methods, but can't get this to work.
Could someone help me out?

I would like to change ALL of the Cells in a Multi-Column Listbox at one time. Both, with the Editor and Programmatically. Any Ideas ?

Programmatically:
Use "Active cell" property node, create constant and type "-2" in both elements of the cluster constant.
Note: the first element is for the raw, the second for the column. -1 and -2 have special meanings.
-1: header of column (listbox has no header for the raws)
-2: all cells (of raw or column)
So for example:
-2;0: all cells of column 0 (with header)
-2; -2: all cells (with header)
-1;0: header of column 0
-1;-2: header of all columns

If you are mentioning about table/advanced table region you can enable totalling in those regions. Please check the Table / Advanced Table section as appropriate in Chapter 4 of the dev guide.
If it is not a table / advancedTable then you will have to programmatically total the column value and display it in the appropriate cell.

How to find the sum based on two variables

I have just started using Numbers, I have a spreadsheet which lists a number of transactions.
On my chart I have Columns "Date", "Memo", "Type", and "Amount".
The Type column is a drop down list. What I want to do and find the sum for transactions that fall between a date range (i.e. months 1-3) and that match a certain "Type". I can figure out how to use the sumif function to find the sum for a date range, however I cant figure out how then to only sum only those that match a type.

This question arises from time to time in different situations. The answer is to first create an auxiliary column which calculates whether or not your multiple conditions have been met. In this case you have three - more than or equal a start date, less than or equal an end date, and a "Type".
I'm assuming that your dates and "type" are flexible, so an extra table to enter your search data is shown below, but these three cells could be incorporated in your main table. The formula for the auxiliary column is:
=IF(AND(Date>=Search Range :: A$2,Date<=Search Range :: B$2,Type=Search Range :: C$2),"SUM","")
All rows with the word "SUM" satisfy the three conditions. The footer row contains the sum of the values meeting the desired conditions using:
=SUMIF(Aux, “SUM”, Amount)
Obviously this has to be reworked to your situation, but the auxiliary column is the key.

Summing only visible cells

Is it possible to filter a table to show only certain rows and then sum the visible cells only?
Example:
I have 100 rows.
Column A = Client Name
Column B = Money Spent
I filter the table to see all rows containing a certain client. I would now like to see a sub-total for that client only, without the hidden rows being added to the calculation.
Any help would be appreciated

Applying this rule you would already know the soluce.
in A1 I put the name to display.
in column D the formula is:
=IF(B=$A$1,C,"")
in D18 (in the footer), the formula is
=SUM(D)

Change font size/type in all cells of table

Hi,
I cannot figure out how to change the font size/type in an existing table. There seems to be no way to select all cells and make a global change.
I can select individual columns and rows, and change the font for these, but that is tedious.
Anyone help?

Click in one cell
Select all
cmd + T to get the Font panel then select the font and the size.

e.g. the below line does not work because you cannot directly use member sets in an IF statement.
IF ((@CHILDREN ("Profit")==#MISSING))
If I explicitly list all children in the IF statement, it will work, but there is alot of hardcoding.

We have a BSO app and we need to query the account without aggregating the data..
We have 4 accounts sitting under Profit:
Profit
     A001
     A002
     A003
     A004
@SUM (@DESCENDANTS ("Profit")) works fine, but we also need to sum the accounts for the parent member of the current business that is evaluated, I have tried @SUM (@DESCENDANTS ("Profit")->@PARENT ("Business")) but this does not work.
This however works...
