How to download a previously purchased movie on an Ipad onto another iPad, i am from the Netherlands

Purchased a movie on my ipad and now want to download the same movie onto my other ipad using icloud. However in The Netherlands I can only sync music and foto's as it seems?

Unless you actually purchased ownership of the movie, you cannot re-download a movie rental unless you re-rent it.

  • I am having trouble downloading a previously purchased movie from the Cloud.

The movie in question is "The Mist." I have purchased a lot of movies from iTunes lately, and to save room on my Mac, I have moved all the movie files onto a portable hard drive and simply deleted them from my Mac. Thus, whenever I want to watch a movie, I just transfer it from my hard drive back onto my Mac no problem, and watch the movie. Somehow, "The Mist" got deleted from my hard drive, so I figured "No worries, I'll just download it from the Cloud and get the file back. I've done it before!"
iTunes does this frustrating thing where even if you delete the video file from your computer, the movie thumbnail still shows up in your movies library, and I guess the Cloud considers this as you still having the movie on your computer, because when I went to my purchase history, it said the movie was already downloaded on my computer, when in fact it was not (it also said this for all my other movies, which are not on my computer but on my PHD). Only after I deleted the thumbnail for the movie did it show up under "Not on this computer" and allow me to hit the download button. Then I get this message saying "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 80 days." It will not let me download my previously purchased movie!
I have already tried logging out and back in again, that did nothing. Do I seriously have to wait 90 days to redownload my movie again? Like, is that a thing? What if you have a hard drive wipe, and have to redownload everything from the Cloud again; would you seriously only be able to redownload all your movies in 90 day incriments? What if I need to redownload multiple purchased movies at once, do I have to wait 90 days in between each one?
Am I the only one having this problem? If so, any help would be appreciated.
If this is not a "problem" and merely a "thing" iTunes does for security reasons, then this is a complaint. I have legally purchased this movie under the same account that I'm currently trying to redownload it through, I find it ridiculous that I should have to wait 90 days; you don't have to wait this long for downloading multiple apps/songs/books. Alternatively, trying to redownload the movie from its store page on iTunes is not an option, because as far as I can tell, iTunes does not let you redownload already purchased movies from their store page, as with apps/songs/books. If you try to re-purchase a movie, in the hopes that it will simply let you download it for free, seeing as how you've ALREADY purchased it, instead it'll gladly charge you again for movie. So no, I am not willing to purchase the movie again, I would just like to re-download it from the Cloud as I've done with other movies before it. I don't know what makes this one different.

I agree. I don't rely on iCloud as a backup, that is what I have my portable hard drive for. Its 500 GB so I can hold my entire iTunes library several times over on it. I have all my movies on my hard drive, but somehow "The Mist" got deleted off of my hard drive, so I figured "Well, the option to redownload an already purchased movie is available through iCloud, I'll just do that!"
And permissions and download availability have nothing to do with it, the movie's still there, it still allows me to redownload it. The only problem is when I click download, I get that message.
And nobody else uses my computer, but I do have multiple accounts authorized on it. Even still though, I am attepmpting to download it through the account I purchased it under. :/

  • How can I watch previously purchased movies on my ipad?

How can I watch my previously purchased movies on my ipad?

You cannot stream them to your iPad unfortunately... You can download them however. Go to the iTunes Store app -> tap the purchased button at the bottom right -> tap the view: Music in the top left and select Movies. From there you can download the one you want...

Have you tried signing out of iTunes Store and back in.

  • How to download a previously purchased OS 10.7 to install over 10.5.8?

Hi there, at my previous job I was given a MacBook Air for development purposes. I paid using my own account $30 to buy OS X Lion (10.7) through the Mac App Store and upgraded the computer. Before leaving I reinstalled the original 10.6 on it and returned it to the company. Now, I have a MacBook Pro I bought a few years ago and it has 10.5.8 on it. I know I can't use the Mac App Store on that version, and being that I had already purchased the software under my personal account, I technically own it. I'd like to download it somehow to install on my computer. I'm not willing to buy 10.6 just to upgrade to 10.7 and I don't have access to any other Macs. If it helps I'm near an Apple Store. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

If you upgrade your computer from Leopard to Snow Leopard 10.6.8, then you may access your App Store account from which you can re-download your software.
Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • HT201272 Problems downloading a previously purchased movie

I bought a movie via my ipad mini in Dec 12, and thought I would be able to view it on my macbook too via itunes (the purchase was via itunes) but for some reason it shows up next to all the others but 'greyed out' and when I click on it, I get the message 'unable to locate' - I have been on mypurchase history etc and it clearly shows that I bought it.  I sync with icloud etc so can't understand why I can view it on my ipad but not my mac.  Any ideas?  Thanks.  Shona x

  • How to download my previous purchases

I just received a replacement iPad.  Now I want to get all of my Apps that I had downloaded before. How do I do this?  Especially the ones I had paid for

To access your iCloud library of purchases, do the following:
open the iTunes app, at the bottom of the screen, click on the
"more" button with three dots above it, click on the "purchased"
category that should be second to bottom, you will then be prompted
to select a category of purchased items (music, movies, or TV shows)
, after clicking the category you want, tap the content you want to download,
and click on the cloud with the arrow pointing down, it should turn into
"downloading."  Also be prepared to enter your Apple ID at least once.
If you do not have an iCloud account, go in to Settings, iCloud and follow the
    instructions.
                              Hope This Helps!

  • HT201272 When will downloading of previously purchased movies be available to non US iTunes account?

I have a new Mac. I;ve been able to download previously purhcased music and tv shows, but not movies.
Seems its only available in US only. Which seems unfair......

We are just fellow users here, and until Apple announces something nobody on here will know. As it is not all films can be re-downloaded in the US as not all film studios have agreed to it - and the studios will need to agree to allow it in other countries before it can happen.
