    Thanks for your answer. I downloaded the JDBC AddressBook application and I found it very usefull. I was able to populate a datalist from a datasource and show it in my application. My problem still remains in the sense that I am unable to show the KPI data in a "custom node" meaning I woul like not only to extract directly the database record to a datalist object but also put the information of a single record in a textbok and a gauge and keep control of paging. I think this is done with the parser in the other examples but I can not figure out how to do it with MySQL and the new Desktop screen designer. Should I use a clip object? or is that managed already by the desktop screen designer? or where can I find an example with the functionality I need?.

  • How to send SMS ( Short Message Service ) from java code

    Hi
    How to send SMS ( Short Message Service ) from java code.
    Thanks
    Gaurav

    Do you need to receive SMS? If you need to receive SMS, you will need to host your own GSM device or modem so that people can send you SMS.
    If not, you can just use internet SMS gateways like clickatell as mentioned above will do the work, and post to them by HTTP, XML or email. The cost is about 6-8 cents per SMS. There are cheaper services, but not always reliable. If you need to host your own GSM device, you can use software like http://www.kannel.org (GPL Open Source) or http://www.visualgsm.com. Alternatively, you may obtain a shortcode from your Telco - but these come with monthly subscription of maybe one or two hundreds.

  • Export the master data from the existing B1 DB and importing to a new B1 DB

    Hi
    Is there any way to export the master data like item, GL, Business partners from the existing B1 database to a newly created DB. (export from the exissitng DB to a new DB as such) so that all the data will be available in the new DB without transactions
    Thanks in advance

    Dear Sanath
    You may use CopyExpress Add on to do the same . Here you can copy masters from one Database to another with out transactions . This process is very easy also. Some of the customizations also u can do the same way.
    Thanks and Regards

  • How to create windows users and groups from Java

    Hi,
    Can any one please tell me, which Package/API will helps to create windows users and groups from Java.
    Thanks,
    M.Prem.

    You can't do it with pure Java, and it's not in the core API. You'd have to write a native function to do it, using whatever API Windows provides, and then call it with JNI. Or look for a third party native-based Java library that already does that.

  • Get User LockedOut Status from java code

    Hi,
    Our java application is using default security via weblogic 10.3 security realm. If the user enters wrong password more than 5 times in say 5 min interval, then the user is locked out for the next 30 minutes by weblogic. All the parameters are configurable & enabled in security realm from weblogic admin console.
    My question is how can we get user 'isLockedOut' status from my java application so that I can display to the user that the reason you have not been able to login to the application is that the user has been locked out not because your current password is wrong.
    I am looking from something like in here
    http://weblogicserver.blogspot.com/2010/04/user-lockout-wlst.html
    But I don't know how to get the handle to 'ServerSecurityRuntime()' from my java code.
    Please advise.
    Cheers,
    tamu

    Thanks Ravish & Faisal. Both the replies are useful but I had come across this before. I haven't tried them as I have reservation about 2 things for it to be used in production application.
    (1) User credential to logon to admininstration console. It varies from environment to environment & it can change as well. If we have different files to store the passwords for different environments, it will be visible to everyone that have access to the file. It will have security implications.
    (2) The passwords for the environments will keep on changing & if it is incorporated in code, it would require another deployment.
    I am kind of thinking of not using weblogic lockout feature & incorporating within our application & store the values in our app database. This will however require more work. I was hoping I would have been able to catch some sort of exception from weblogic when user account is locked, so that I can display message to the client that the user is locked.

  • How to modify an existing xml file from java code.

    Hi
    I have worked on creating a new xml file from java code using xmlbeans.But if i try to modify an already existing file using java code I am unable to get errorfree xmlfile.
    For example if xml file(studlist.xml) is as below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <StudentList xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="D:\kchaitanya\xmlprac1\abc\Studlist.xsd">
         <Student>
              <Name>ram</Name>
              <Age>27</Age>
         </Student>
    <Student>
              <Name>sham</Name>
              <Age>26</Age>
         </Student>
    </StudentList>
    Now suppose i have set name to victor using student.setName,
    and set age to 20 using setAge from javacode,
    the new xml file is as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <StudentList xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="D:\kchaitanya\xmlprac1\abc\Studlist.xsd">
         <Student>
              <Name>ram</Name>
              <Age>27</Age>
         </Student>
    <Student>
              <Name>sham</Name>
              <Age>26</Age>
         </Student>
    </StudentList>
    <Student>
              <Name>victor</Name>
              <Age>20</Age>
         </Student>
    As observed this is not a valid xml file.But how can i modify without any errors?

    I know it's an old post, but I found this while doing a google search for something else, and don't like to leave it un-aswered
    Just in case anyone has a similar problem... In this case the new elements have been appended outside of the root element
    What you need to do is first get the root element and then append the new children to that, there are several ways of getting the root element, which depend on what you want to do with the elements you get back here's a simple (incomplete) way.
    // gets the root element of the specified file (code not shown)
    Element rootElement= new SAXReader().read(file).getRootElement();Then just append the new elements as below (this is non-generic code and would need to be modified for your situation)
    // write a new student element
    Element student = document.createElement("Student");  // creates the new student
    rootElement.appendChild(student); // ***appends it to the root element***
    Element name = document.createElement("Name"); // creates the name element
    name.appendChild(document.createTextNode("Fred")); // adds the name text to the name element
    student.appendChild(name); // appends the name to the student
    Element age= document.createElement("Age"); // creates the age element
    age.appendChild(document.createTextNode("26")); // adds the age text to the age element
    student.appendChild(age); // appends the name to the studentThen flush ya buffers or whatever and write the file

  • How to export user master data in SAP HANA?

    We have a HANA server SP7 and we need to migrate it to a new server which will also be HANA SPS7. However the backup/restore approach is not to be used as confirmed by client. We are going to perform a export/import of all the important schemas. The question here is how to take an export of the users and roles in this scenario

    Hi Meenu,
    As Michael mentioned you can't export roles and users in a general way.
    To add to it, you can always export users and roles if they are created used development workbench. That means if your developer has created any repository roles or users using development workbench or WebIDE you can export them by assigning those roles/privileges to a package/delivery unit. Make use of studio/HALM/CTS for that.
    However to export users and roles created by admin workbench using gui can't be exported.
    Happy HANA

  • How do I export the pdf data from multiple forms to an excel spreadsheet?

    I have several forms that one of my employees collects data in. I need that data from those forms to go to a spreadsheet for analyzation purposes. I am using Acrobat XI.

    No, you can't change the way this built-in command works. You can either process it later on in Excel, or you would need to use a custom-made script and an Action to collect the data in the format you want in Acrobat and then export it.

  • How to hire Employee in master data from e-recruitment?

    Without going in to PA48 manually? can we do it automated?
    Here my both systems ie e-recruiting and sap (hr-master system)  are isolated.

    Hello Krishna,
    let's assume you can process the hiring action with the information e-recruiting is handing to the HR system. I'd probably do it the following way (might be a bit oldschool but should work).
    PA48 is nothing else than another entry to hr actions. So you could start recording a hiring action as batch input and fill in all fields you have from T752F easily by doing PA30.
    When you have the batch you just take the coding as base for a report which reads T752F and gets all information to a employee Id. With this information you build a batch input table and then call PA30 and pass the batch input table which should process the complete hiring without screen interaction. After the call returns to your program you delete the datasets from T752F. Do this in a loop for all numbers.
    You can even run different actions for hiring and org. change as you can check if the employee Id from the table already exists.
    Plan the report as batch job and it should do what you want.
    If you do not want to start delayed via batch job you could make a workflow on completing the data transfer or any other manuel activity. The workflow would call a function module via rfc, hand the data from e-recruiting to the function module which basically does the same as the report for the single candidate. The workflow would be triggered by just setting the activity to completed, the table T752F would not be used.
    This solution might be not the most elegant but should work, assuming you have all needed data of course. In my field of work this would not work as e-recruiting does not supply enough data to process the hiring action, so an admin has to do it via PA48 and add everything needed.

    Then process ask me for password for administrator but it terminates befor i send it. exitCode() returns 1.
    Have you some idea how can I do it?
    Regards for you.

    At the very least, you need to read this and follow the advice it gives. That may or may not solve your problem, but it's a bare minimum.

  • Are there any APIs to access user personalization data from java

    Hi gurus,
    We want to access personalization data for a user from java using API. This includes user mapping also.
    If you are aware of any api please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
      Pratik Thakkar

    Hi Pratik,
    You can also retrieve a system object and get the user mapping for the system:
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,IPcdContext.PCD_INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY);
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, request.getUser());
    env.put(Constants.REQUESTED_ASPECT, PcmConstants.ASPECT_SEMANTICS);
    iCtx = new InitialContext(env);
    ISystem pcdSys =(ISystem)iCtx.lookup(sysId);
    ISystemUserMappingData um = pcdSys.getUserMappingData(request.getUser());
    From this object you can get the user, password and other properties.
    As for personalized values of iView attributes, you can an environmental value before create the initial context to indicate to return personalized value, as follows:
    env.put(IPcdContext.PCD_PERSONALIZATION_PRINCIPAL, request.getUser());
    Hope this helps.
