How to download & save an archive of musical theatre performances on video?

I am on Mac mini (not Intel) with 10.4.9
I have not been able to find a command to Save or download. TubeSock works for YouTube but not for this website. I have VCL and EasyFind but haven't been able to find a tmp file from Safari cache.
Help, please, I'm stuck. (and there some great archives at Bluegobo.com)!

sadly the link will give hieroglyphics - though it might behave if you had the vlc plugin, but I haven't tested it.
Let the page of mumbo-jumbo load, then save it from Safari - it may save with a .txt suffix, which you can remove in finder, so it's an xxx.flv file. VLC will then open & play the saved example. ( This I have tested)
In the first example you gave, I used the Safari View menu, then View Source - look carefully at the code & you'll see "annie98_rosie.flv" I copied this part, then set safari to go to http://www.bluegobo.com/video/annie98_rosie.flv
For other flv movies on the same site, you would need to view the source, identify and copy the filename which will be in the format flashvars="file=annie98_rosie.flv ( so you copy the part after the = sign up to the .flv )
Then... if you're doing a few, make a bookmark of http://www.bluegobo.com/video/ open it in Safari, ( you'll get a page not found error, that's ok) and paste the filename you copied onto the end, which is how I got the link I gave which seems like gobbledegook. For each movie, you'd need to do the same - let it finish loading in Safari, save it, lose the txt extension, and then VLC should play it just fine.
I hope that's a bit clearer - I don't know of any simpler way to suggest.

How do I save/back-up pics & music from my eMac? Those USB thingies?

I have had my eMac for about 3 1/2 years. I still love it, but there seems to be a lot of issues that I cannot figure out and I am frustrated, so I am thinking about just getting a newer computer.
My question: How do I back-up, save the pics, music etc. that are on the computer. I guess not just because I want a new computer, but I guess it is really dumb of me not to have it back-up (or whatever the term is

To save your songs and pictures, you'll basically want to be saving them to an external hard drive or you can "burn"/save these files to DVDs/CDs, which can then later be transferred to your new computer.
The bigger the total size of the files you want to save, the bigger the requirement is for size of the backup destination for these files (external hard drive, DVD, etc.). In my opinion, a large size (40 GB and up) external hard drive is a wise investment in these days of digital media.
A small USB drive is likely to be too small for saving all the music and image files you're interested in saving.
It is simplest (and perhaps easiest) to backup your entire Home folder (Macintosh HD > Users > Home). This will also save any of your email from the "Mail" application as well as any Documents you've spent time creating.

Is the app on your iPhone or on your computer ? Does the developer's website have a help/FAQ section on it for how to use the app ? If the app is on your phone and you've downloaded songs in it then does it appear in the file sharing section on the phone's App on your computer's iTunes so that you can copy them to your computer and then add them to your iTunes library ?

I need to download some ai files from my client's web application in which, whenever I click the links from their web, my acrobat pdf reader 8.0 will be pop-up and I cannot save the ai files under the acrobat pdf reader. Recently, I don't have any Adobe Illustrator program in my PC because my job is download all ai files and forward to my designers. Can anyone have any suggestion?

Hi Silk,
I've tried this before. I've no idea why my client's application cannot right click the link. Probably, the web application is written by something related to Java. Even I use left or right click, my windows will be automatically popup the Acrobat PDF reader. I was trying to search some related discussion to disable the Acrobat PDF reader(8.0) popup but fail. Have any idea?

Download Helper - How to download & save .wmv files WITHOUT the video being downloaded playing on screen?

Windows Media Player and VLC are installed
When I download a video file (typically .wmv) the video begins playing on the monitor screen prior to my being able to use Download Helper to download the video and save to the hard drive. This typically results in the video stopping and playing and stopping throughout the download process because of the download speed available. There is never any issue with the final download on the hard drive.
Today I installed latest version of Firefox and Download Helper on another computer.
Windows 7
Latest Version of Firefox
Latest Version of Download Helper
Windows Media Player (only) is installed
Downloaded the same .wmv file downloaded above and the video did NOT begin playing on the monitor screen. Download Helper allowed me to download the file to the hard drive WITHOUT constantly listening to the video start/stop/start/stop etc.
What option (in which program) would allow the playing of the video to be toggled on or off while downloading the .wmv file?

My problem is that i need to save pdf/html report in client machine while report running on client machine for this i have set destype as file and desformat as pdf/html.
It is running and save automatically while report run on server machine (Application Server OS is Windows 20003 professional) but when i run it on client machine (Client machine OS is XP sp2) click on run button to run report then it give message as
FRM-41214: Unable to run report
When I do showjobs then it give message as
Executed successfully but there were some errors when distribute the output<br>
Please suggest me solution of the above mentioned.

Okay so I make a lot of videos on my mac for my Youtube Channel. I have quite a few projects and movies from Movie, but ive recently switched over to Final Cut pro and the rest is history. However im running out of space on my hard drive, FAST! to the point i cant even edit my new video. Silly me for not paying attention to the warning signs (ie slow computer duh...)
So my question is, is it smart to delete my projects, events and original videos once ive exported and uploaded the the final video? I think Im quite the hoarder when it comes to these things like im worried i might need it for something. Is there anyone who has a YT channel or makes videos regularly relate to what im saying and what are your ways on saving space and what you do once you've finished your project?????

There are really two answers depending on how much money you are willing to spend, and how much editing you plan to do on the footage.
Option 1) You can rely on your Digital8 tapes for backup, and re-import them if you ever need the footage again. You can delete your event files (once you have completed all Projects). Once you have SHARED your projects in all sizes you need, the projects are in a compressed format. Once you delete the Event files, no further editing will be possible.
Option 2) Keep the Event Files on a large external hard drive, and back it up. This way, you have maximum flexibility for future editing, future new projects, and you don't have to worry about the lengthy import from a nearly obsolete tape format again. I recommend Option 2. External drives are relatively cheap these days, and your time is probably more valuable than the cost of an external drive and the cost of the re-import.

Maybe it is a silly question but I did download videos using "Save as -->archive" and of course when the video on the site was deleted, I had nothing.
That saved the web page, but that doesn't contain the actual video. That is sent by the server when needed.
I guess it's the same with video download ?
Another reason I ask is if it is so simple to just use Quick Time and it's free and it copy even without asking (all I have to do is watch) why so many ads for "capture videos ?"
Web sites often disable QuickTime's Save function, so you often need other ways to save video.

Now I know what happened! I rebuilt the iTunes library, and now, when I connect my iPad, iTunes says that my iPad is synchronized with another library.

Unfortunely, all movies and songs purchased in iTunes will be lost...you'll have to purchase them again! Any applications you've purchased, you can download again for free.
Music Rescue is a program you can use to transfer any and all data (music, movies, pictures..) from your iPod to your computer, and iTunes.

My wife and I use one Apple i.d. account. How can I change to use two i.d.'s and retain all my contacts and music and allow my wife to likewise save her contacts and music, too?

My wife and I each have Iphone 4s and I also have Ipad latest version with 6.0 operating system. Additonally we have Ipod Classics (a few years old) and when I got the 4s and Ipad (at different times) they started to share contacts, apps...everything with each other. I bumped up the amount of Icloud space, but more importantly, how can I create two separate accounts yet save all the contacts, music, etc. that are in both of our phones? Can Verizon (our cell provider) archive our contacts for downloads at different time to our separate accounts? Thanks.
