How to Drop an index from a used table. online

I need to drop an index from a table that is constantly used , read and write.
The DML's are locking the table and preventing the index drop (ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified )
I tried to lock the table first - using 'lock table TAB1 in exclusive mode'
but when i ran the 'drop index' command , the drop (as all DDL's) first commits and this frees the lock which cause again the ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified error.
I would appriciate any help .I can't take the DB or table or Application writing to the table offline. I need something like 'create index IND1 online' for DROP but there is none as far as I know...

It might do that today, but it is not guaranteed to do it tomorrow. Oracle may be able to retrieve the records ordered using that index, but I would leave it in your query if you are depending on the rows being ordered. The CBO is smart enough to not actually sort the rows (i.e. act on the ORDER BY clause) if it can get them sorted using the index, but if it decides to use another access path for one of many reasons your results will not be sorted without the ORDER BY.
Since the CBO seems to think that your existing index is useful (which is why you cannot get the lock on it), your only option is to wait for a period of really low activity on the database and try it then.

Check bapireturn parameter of the bapi BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN after execution of the code , and if there is no error message in the return table then call bapi_Transaction_commit.
Unless you call this database saving of the records/values will not get reflected in the system.

The only option would be to set up the iPad to open a PDF reader app as the sole app in Guided Access:

That's the only way you can limit an iPad to using only a single app. That would seem to make the iPad rather overkill, if all you want is for them to be able to read PDFs. Something like one of the base-model Kindles might be better suited to the task.

How can I modify data from a Transparent Table (like TCURR), and important thing is I want do all that with no ABAP code here. It is like that we always do that in a Oracle database use TOAD or PLSQL third party tools, with no script code here.
I had fond that there is a way can do that:
1, type 'se11',and Display Database table 'TCURR', click Contents, then click Execute to display all data
2, type '/h' and let debugging on
3, select one of this data then click 'Display',enter in debugging system.
4, then make a breakpoint in the code. But... display a dialog let I type a 'ABAP Cmnds', I want to know what can be type in for that?
and, My system is ECC6.

Your approach (with Vijay's suggestion) MAY work. However, depending on how tight security is at the company that you are working at you may or may not be able to acutaly change the value of the SHOW field to EDIT. This will be especially true if you are working in a Production environment. Vijay's other comment is true as well. This is not a recommended approach to change data (especially data with a financial impact like TCURR) in a production environment. The auditors will not be impressed.
Explore the option of a maintenace view or look at tcode TBDM to upload a file which includes daily rates from providers like Reuters or try tcode s_bce_68000174 which is a maintenance view on TCURR.

You will need an app (web browser) capable of both storing a document and accessing the site's functionality sufficiently enough to upload a file. Safari can't do this (and I'm pretty certain CloudOn can't either). A couple of options:
iCab Mobile - store documents in the Downloads section and has settings to both change the BrowserID to a non mobile browser to unlock site functionality, and has a setting for uploading files from its storage rather then iOS in general. Its not free, but not very expensive and is a pretty could all around web browser in its own right. I've been using it for quite some time.
iUploader - has both free (trial) and paid versions. I've only experimented with it a bit, but works fairly well. Like iCab, has its own file container that you up load from.
In both cases you would need to transfer your files from the source app (CloudOn, in this case) to the file storage, and then access the website.

What table do you have in mind, what data does it hold, and why do you want alternate records?

You may also be able to access https://store.apple.com/ in Safari, log into your account, and review recent purchases (and cancel any that haven't shipped yet).

Hi Folks, Can anybody suggest me how can i get the selected row index from TableColumnModel. User can add any number of rows to the table , but when user clicks on any row I need to get that Index.
This is very urgent requirement.

Below is my problem description in detail:
I'm using 5 column table. Each column is having its own customised editor.
now when user clicks on add button I'm populating one row in table(which contains 5 columns). In similar fashion user can add n number of rows. Now my question is if user clicks on any row i have to get the selected row index, based on that i have to do some other manipulations.
I have tried out using ListSelectionModel it works fine . But when I use setter method to set the selected row index it is not able to produce current selected row. Below is the code snippet

Actually there are two columns, one is having JComboBox list and other is just JTextField. Now when user selects particular item from JComboBox list then some corresponding value has to be populated in second column. ie second column value should be kept changing depending on the user selection from JComboBox.
Now the problem is user can add one row (which contain above two columns) and can selects item and clicks on "add" button to add another row and selects some desired item from JComboBox and that corresponding value will be populated in next column. Now that actual problem is if user clicks on first row again to change the item from JComboBox I'm unable to set the corresponding value in its next column. For this reason I'm asking you how can i get the current row?

You cannot "+transfer+" the index data like you can table data. The reason is that indexes contains the physical address of the rows indexed. These addresses are different on the new database - and thus make the index data on the old database useless. Instead, you need to re-create the indexes so that the new row addresses can be determined and used by the index.
