How to duplicate return of RFC.Exception Application error to test fix

I am calling a RFC using a sync step in an BPM process. I am checking for system error and have an exception branch. However we got the below error (probably due to the ECC system not being available at that precise moment or something) which was not trapped by the exception alert handling because this comes in as an Application error and not a System error. My questions are :
1) How to handle this return of .Exception message so that the BPM raises the alert in the exception branch? I have read in other threads that we need to assign the below message structure as the Fault Message and set this under the Exceptions property of the Synchronous send step. If this is true, I am mostly interested in the below question so I can test this.
2) How to duplicate this issue? I am not sure when exactly the .Exception message is returned on a RFC call, this is not configured anywhere on the ABAP side.
<rfc:ZRFC_GET_DATA.Exception xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">

Is the error resolved means that the RFC is working fine?
I think this error due to the RFC destination set to Non-unicode which is expecting unicode option
Check the R/3 machine whether it is unicode or not try to set the RFC destination option of unicode  in other way and check the error getting replicated or not

Firefox 4.0 beta 1 installs to a separate directory, so unless you uninstalled it, your previous Firefox install should be there. Just find it in the start menu and run it, allowing it to set itself back as the default browser.
If you did uninstall it, just install it again: [[Installing Firefox]].
You can but don't have to uninstall 4.0 via Add/Remove Programs

  • Un caught exception: application error message

Hi, I seem to be getting this message everyday now: uncaught exception: application net_rim_bb_facebook_lib (136) is not responding, process terminated.
It is driving me crazy, I keep missing facebook messages and the only way I can fix is by taking the battery out. But this still means im missing messages and I have to keep checking via mobile link then once ive responded they start coming back through.
Driving me crazy now, if I had the money to get an iphone now I defo would do, apart from that I love this phone when it works!!!!! Please help!!!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode
There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:
     http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:
KB05349How to enable, access, and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone
The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.
Good luck and let us know!

  • How to Catch Return Code(RFC) in  XI

    Hi
    Can any help me out,
I have a scenario , which is posting the data into SAPR/3 through RFC and alternately I would like to catch the exceptions . I need to catch return code in my scenrio, which will be show successfully posted or not as E or U.
My RFC returning the error codes like E, S, and U..so these error codes i need to catch and update into my DATABASE.
This is scenrio , i need to do very urgent manner..please let me know, should i use schronous or fault message types?
please give me logical steps for how to do this?
If it sync messae type, please tell me what is the output message type and input message type..
    thank you,
    Regards..rambarki!

    Hi Rambarki,
Just for your information I'll tell you what all you have to develop to complete this scenario.
<b>1></b> Two datatypes. one for the Request(data coming from JDBC Sender) and one for the Response(data going through JDBC Receiver).
    <b>2></b> Two corresponding Messagetypes.
    <b>3></b> Five Message Interfaces.
              i) OutBound/Async with Request.
             ii) Abstract/Async with Request.
iii) Abstract/Sync with Request and Response.
             iv) Abstract/Async with Response.
              v) InBound/Async with Response.
    <b>4></b> Message Mapping
              i) Message Mapping between the Request and imported RFC.
ii) Mapping between RFC.Response and Response.
<b>5></b> Single Interface Mapping with Source as Abstract/Sync interface and target as RFC with two mapping programs corresponding to Request and Response.
    <b>6></b> Integration Process
             i) Create container element for request and response interfaces.
            ii) Receive step(Asynchronous), Send step(Synchronous), Send step(Asynchronous).
    Receiver Determinations
    i)   JDBC --> Integration Process (imported from IR)(OutBInterface: OutBound/Async, InBnterface: Abs/Async)
ii)  Integration Process --> R/3 (OutBInterface: Abs/Sync, InBInterface: RFC with mapping program)
iii) Integration Process --> JDBC. (OutBInterface: Abs/Async, InBInterface: InBound/Async).
    Hope this works for you.

  • Tour freezing up: uncaught exception: Application errors

I have been experiencing frequent freezing up of my device fairly recently-- often when saving messages to memo pad, with the following message:  net_rim_bb_messaging_app (190) is not responding:  process terminated.  When the device freezes, I shut it off, then restart it, and this message is that I get.  (The number in the parentheses may not always be the same.)  Why is this happening, and is there anything I can do to stop it?  Thanks.
    Liz

    Hi blaqsox,
    Welcome to the support community!
To fix this issue, please try to first back up all your data using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software and then perform a clean reload of your BlackBerry Device Software. For further steps, please see the following KB articles.
    For Windows:
"How to back up BlackBerry smartphone data using BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows" http://blackberry.com/btsc/KB12487
"How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows" http://blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320
    For Mac:
"Back up and restore BlackBerry smartphone data on a Mac computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software" http://blackberry.com/btsc/KB18776
"Perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software on a Mac computer" http://blackberry.com/btsc/KB19915
Please test to make sure the error does not return before restoring your backup file.
Please let me know if that helps.

  • How to handle Queue blockage due to application error in BPM

    Hi
In the integration process that i have created, there is a SyncSend(calling a webservice using SOAP adapter) Step.
Sometimes the response message from the receiver application may be a Fault message.
Whenever a fault message is sent back to integration process in XI, the message fails and the queue is blocked.
Bacause of this queue blockage , the next messages to be processed are getting blocked.
    How to handle this?
    Thanks
    Ram

do you have configured the fault message mapping in the Operation Mapping? what error does the sxi_monitor display?

    Hi guys,
Whenever I logon to Enterprise portal > Employee Services > My Details > Personal Details tab on Employee self services, I get following error message: An RFC exception has occured:
However, this message does not stop me from updating my personal information. I traced in ST01 and SU53 but nothing comes up as missing authorizations.
Could you tell me how to look upon/trace RFC exception error message? Is there any transaction in backend SAP system which raises RFC exception flag?

    Hi
can you post the full error message, you can get in the portal screen or from http://<hostname>:<port>/nwa
and Monitoring-logs and traces and look for default trace
In the column customization you have the user, which will help in searching the error log. post the error from default trace....

  • Application error not catched

    Hi,
we are calling an RFC synchronously from BPM. This is a standard BAPI, that does not have any RFC exception message (BAPI_IPAK_START and BAPI_ISREQUEST_GETSTATUS). We are only able to catch system errors, since no RFC exception message is avaiable for which we could define a different exception branch.
If an error happens in the RFC, an application error is thrown, which is not catched in the exception branch defined to handle the system error. After the application error, the process simply terminates- that's it.
Why is an application error not catched as system error? Is there any way to catch an application error and let the business process continue?
    Your help will be rewarded,
    Volker

    Hi Volker,
a BAPI does not throw any exception, therefore you cannot catch any.
    - You could write a wrapper RFC around the BAPI which interprets the RETURN structure and throws exception in case of an error.
    - You could have a fork in the BPM depending of the entries in RETURN.
    Regards
    Stefan

    Andrea,
Try using ST22 to see if it gives you a detailed error message. If it is listed it will tell you what it is missing.

  • How to handle RFC exception in XI

We have developed a proxy-> RFC scenario. But its not able to handle the RFC exception. In case of an exception the response payload is as below
    <rfc:Y_BAPI_GET_POSTING_PERIOD.Exception xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions"><Name>RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE</Name><Text>Screen output without connection to user.</Text><Message><ID>RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE</ID><Number>044</Number></Message><Attributes><V1>DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND</V1></Attributes></rfc:Y_BAPI_GET_POSTING_PERIOD.Exception>
Is it correct way to get exception from RFC in such a way or the error/exception text should come in RETURN part of the RFC response?
What is the best approach or solution to handle the sync. RFC call exception in XI?

    Hi,
You can create a Fault Message Type and map the RFC exception text to this.
In the interface mapping in addition to Request and response
mapping you will get an additional fault message mapping.
This will handle your exception properly.

  • How to catch the user defined  exception in application service

    Hi All,
How to catch the user defined  exception in application service  when it is throwed by the external service..
    Regards,
    Thirumurugan.

    Hi,
        Thanks for your reply,
Actually I  am calling validate Login method of External service from the application service. When the login fails, my external service will throw user defined Exception.I want to catch the user defined Exception.
But in the application service , validate Login method can catch  only Invocation Exception and Engine Exception.
These two exception are present in the Application service remote interface.
      public com.sap.comptest.extsrv.accrjavawsvi__document.output.
    Ns1_validateLoginResponse validateLogin(com.sap.comptest.extsrv.accrjavawsvi__document.input.Ns1_validateLogin input) throws com.sap.caf.mp.base.exception.InvocationException, com.sap.caf.mp.base.exception.EngineException;
User defined exception is not present there. When i include the webservice as external service in CAF, it suppossed to generate the java file for the custom exception of validate Login method and this generated file should be included in the application service remote interface..
    public com.sap.comptest.extsrv.accrjavawsvi__document.output.
    Ns1_validateLoginResponse validateLogin(com.sap.comptest.extsrv.accrjavawsvi__document.input.Ns1_validateLogin input) throws com.sap.caf.mp.base.exception.InvocationException, com.sap.caf.mp.base.exception.EngineException,
(generated file name of user defined Excpetion.
Then only  validate login method  of application service can catch  the user defined Exception which is thrown by the  external service.
