How to edit View based field in forms

Hi All,
I developed a Query-Find Form for Customer details.In main form(after querying) I have some fields where the data is coming from a View.All are non -editable fields,But I need to make one Particular field as editable.How can I make that field as editable?
could anyone please give me any solution.

How do I reference a field in form portlet?

I created a simple form portlet in Oracle Portal using the wizard.
I want to execute a custom pl/sql query using simple select statement. (e.g. select emp from scott where ...)
I created a new Button item.
In the PL/SQL Button Event Handler I put the select statement.
Now I have 2 questions.
Question 1. Do I have to use the Query or Custom button.
Question 2. In either way I get PLS-00428: an INTO clause is expected in this SELECT statement.
I guess the fundamental question here is how do I reference a field in the form?

If I understand you correctly you want to click on the button and then display a value selected from the database, right?
1. You have to use the Custom button - query is exclusive for the form query.
2. You will have to select the value into an interim PL/SQL variable and then set the form field using the portal session attribute.
The following principles apply:
* To set a field you have to use code like
p_session.set_value(
p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
p_attribute_name => 'A_RFS_ID',
p_value => 30);
p_session.save_session;
where
- p_session is available in most custom PL/SQL blocks - I'm not sure if its in the custom block for a button - this type of code is used mostly in the "cusom pl/sql before form is displayed" (last tab) - if its not available you might have to jump through some more hoops !:). It refers to a portal stored session that is used to store all the internal variables.
- block_name is either DEFAULT for simple forms or MASTER or DETAIL for master/detail forms
- p_attribute_name is the name of the field you want to set BUT (very important) prefixed with A_
- p_value is the actual value - here you will use your pl/sql variable.
so try something like:
l_number number;
select anumber into l_number from atable where ....;
p_session.set_value(
p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
p_attribute_name => 'A_field1',
p_value => l_number);
p_session.save_session;

How to Edit the subject of a form that is submitted to me via email?

Is there a way to Edit the subject of a form that is submitted to me via email?
Ex. I've created multiple forms in Dreamweaver. They are submitted to my email address without problem.
When I receive them, the default subject line in my email is "Form posted from Microsoft Internet Explorer"
I want each of my forms to have their own subject line.

In your form to mail script insert the following just above the actual function to send the mail -
$optional_subject = $_POST['form_subject'];
and $optional_subject in your mail function just before the body info of your email.
Insert an hidden field in your form with the id "form_subject" and the value you wish.

How to Edit a single field in Report

Hi Experts,
I am new in ABAP and need your help while creating a report.
My query is, am creating a ALV report and in that report i want only a single field is editable. For example, suppose in sales order report, there is 20 fields but i want to edit only Quantity fields and anyone can change the quantity based on their requirements. I tried but not succeed in this terms.

How do I view only fields with responses?

I have a logic question near that top that splits the form into 4 different possibilities...I want to only view fields that have actual data entered, not all of the fields from the other 3 possible questions that are empty...

Hi,
I believe you are referring to the table of your collected responses in "View Responses" tab, is this right? if so, you can select "Filter" on the toolbar, and define your criteria in the filter dialog. Depending on how you would like your conditions to match you will select either ALL or ANY at this "Show only rows that matche ANY/ALL of the following:". To hide a column in the responses table, you will have to do it manually, by selecting the column and clicking on the drop down arrow next to the letter on top of the column and select "Hide Column". Please try out filtering and hiding column or either one and see which one works best for you.
If you are referring to the form filler seeing or not seeing certain fields based on the responses collected, then, we do not support this feature currently.

How to show view based on condition

Hi,
I have a scenario with login screen with a submit button and two views(success and error).
Now I want to show
a)a successful view if user enters a correct login name and password(which will be validated with static values in action method of submit button)
b)a Error view if user enters wrong username and password.
I am struck at action code to write a condition to show respective views.
Some thing like (In Java)
If (login.id=='abc' && login.password='xyz')
show.view1
else
show.view2
I am not familar to ABAP coding as I just started to know.
If anyone know action code, Please help on this.

I have to change the code with respect to context node info.
My context looks like

         -->Address (which is designted as password)

How to 'clear' file upload field in forms

In a form I am designing I need a 'clear' or 'reset' button that clears the entire form. This is easy to do, of course, but alas my form has a file upload field, and in Safari I just can't get that field to go back to it's default empty state.
is there a secret way to force file upload fields in safari to reset, or is it just impossible?

How to call view requests window from forms

I have a custom form in which i am running a concurrent program using FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST. after I submit the request, I manually go to the view -> requests -> viewoutput to see the report output. Is there any function which can be used in the form to skip this manual step and go directly to the view requests screen?

Hi,
You can use fnd_function.execute to open any form from another form. For instance, using fnd_function.execute('FND_FNDCPQCR') should open the Requests form. You can play with the parameters of the form (or use a different function) until you get what you actually need.

How to compare a database field and form field and highlight differences

Hi there,
I have been trying to find a coldfusion function that will help, I have tried comparing two strings but the results of -1 1 or 0 aren't very useful.
I need to compare a database field with a form field and highlight all the differences in the form field in red.

This is a non-trivial process. Rather than doing a compare, you really are wanting to do a diff. CF doesn't do this out of the box, but you might want to have a sniff around on Google to see if anyone has implemented anything for CF.

How get changed view based on selected tabBarItem

Hi All,
i have used UINavigationController and used UITabBar from IB.
I have added 3 UITabBarItem named 1. search 2. Recents and 3 .Favorites.
Now when i clicked on search item it should be open serachViewController and same as remaining two items,
But i can;t understand that how can i get that which items are selected ....

I think this is what you are asking for-
In IB, click on each tab bar button and set the NIB name of the tab controller buttons to the NIB name of your other views, and set the Class of the of each button to the Class files that control those views. Then clicking on each button will load separate NIB files.
Also, working in tree-view in IB makes it easier to understand what's connected to what when working with controllers like Navigation and TabBar.

I am using Adobe Pro 9 and need to layer some buttons. I know how to size and ailign but I don't see where to layer them.

You can place one on top of another. To set the order, set the tab order.

It will depend on the image. If it was one that was saved as a psd file and has layers (window>layers) {Look in the layers panel and see if you see a layer with a thumbnail that looks like a large T} In this instance, you can double click on that thumbnail to highlight the text then type in its replacement.
If the image is a jpg which does not support layers, transparency or live text, then that would mean that you need to use the selection tools to select that text and fill it with the same color as the background. You can then use the text tool to type in the text you want.
Remember to save a copy as a psd file so you can edit the text at a later date.

How to make a particular field editable in a Form/Empty View

Hi,
You can achieve the same by two methords.
1) Goto configuration of the view in which you want to make fields editable/ non editable. Click on your field. Click on field properties. On the menu you can click on Display only. It will make your field non editable. If you remove the check, it will be editable.
2) Goto Get_I_fieldname methord of your field. There write code rv_disable= 'FALSE'. Field will become editable. rv_disable= 'TRUE' will make field non editable.

How to show madatory fields on form that uses a view?

Hello everyone,
I am using a view to create a form. After I have created the form I modified a column in one of the tables so that it is not null. Now that I have already created a form how can I show that it is mandatory.I know that APEX does this automatically if any fields are not null before I create the form. But how can I modify it now since I've already created the form and the not null field is not being shown as mandatory..
Also is there a custom way to show that the field is mandatory when user doesn't enter any value for that field? Right it shows the oracle error.

Hi Nahal,
It's two-step process:
Step 1: Change the label template on the field to "Required Label" or "Required Label with Help".
Step 2: Add an Item Validation on the page for the field, and choose the validation method "Item Not Null"
