How to enable a field on the person form?

Hello,
I am working in UK Legislation and I need to enable a greyed out field on the person screen. It's the "Disabled" field (to capture the disability of an employee).
This might sound an easy thing to do but I couldn't find any function or profile option that controls this. I couldn't find any metalink note on this. Could any one tell me how to do this or let me know of any metalink note on this?

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) is the main piece of legislation which makes it unlawful to discriminate against a disabled person in their terms of employment, promotion opportunities, by dismissing them or by subjecting them to any other detriment. This act had been further amended, cumulating in the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 which is related to disability generally and extends outside the area of employment although some provisions will relate to employees.
Parts of the Act came into force in December 2005, other parts relating for example to transportation are applicable from December 2006. The above provisions replaced the concept of Registered Disabled Persons and
employment quotas which had been in existence since after the second world war.
In releasing the enhanced Disabilities functionality, it was intended to facilitate the maintenance of disability records through the Disability form and not the Disabled field on the person form.

    If I understood you correctly, you are just trying to add new fields to the invoice form and then use them in your form. you should first go and add the field to your tables, which you would do by going to Tool --> User Defined Fields --> Manage User Fields. There are different documents or categories given. For ex. for invoices, Sales Orders you would add your field under the Marketing Documents. If you want the field to be just one per invoice, add it to the Title, otherwise if you want a field per invoice or Sales Order line, add it to the Rows section. Once you have done that then you can just create a edit box or drop down to represent the field and set the datasource for that to your field. If you want example code to do that, let me know.

    I am talking about 3rd senario, where we create one process on workbench, and pass filled pdf as input and then output of process is xml file.
    What is the process name here (Like renderPDF process) which extract data from pdf.

  • Master Detail Form - How 2 update a field in the Detail form using a query?

    Hello,
    I have a master detail form with, each master record having a fixed(6) number of detail records. One of the fields in the detail record is the PART_DESCRIPTION field. I am trying to update this field by querying Table_X. TABLE_X is in the format of (desciption id, description). Description id runs from 1 to 6.
    When the form displays, the PART_DESCRIPTION field for the 6 detail records needs to be automatically populated with the six values of description stored in Table_X. How can this be done?
    Tried using session storage objects, but made no headway.
    Would greatly appreciate pointers on how to go about doing this.

    Hi,
    If it is just a one word value then you could use this in the exist event;
    this.rawValue    
    = util.printx(">?<*",this.rawValue);
    This changes the first character (represented by the ?) to uppercase (represented by the >) and all trailing characters (represented by the *) to lowercase (represented by the <).
    If you wanted something more general ... if they could also enter a middle name then you could call a function like;
    function        toTitleCase(textValue)
      return  textValue.toLowerCase().replace(/\b[a-z]/g, function replacer(match) { return match.toUpperCase(); });
    This uses a regex to change all lowercase letters following a word boundary to uppercase.

    in spro in Define customer-specific search control -> mark fields with X.
    and enhance html template CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY. -> tcode smw0, look for package CRM_CIC_COMPONENTS for html CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY. export it from SAP, edit, and import.
    you will need to enhance function module used for searching - you will find him in spro in Search Strategies.

    To extend  BAPI_PO_CHANGE  for EKPO-ABSKZ field , we have to add field in the structure BAPI_TE_MEPOITEM to pass it to  EXTENSIONIN. As ABSKZ field already availble in the EKPO it is not allowed to add ABSKZ in the structure BAPI_TE_MEPOITEM. it is throwing below error message.
    Field ABSKZ in table EKPO is specified twice. Please check
    Since it is not Z field and also not availble in the structure BAPIMEPOITEM  not sure how to update ABSKZ field in the EKPO table.

    1. Implement SAP Notes 925410, 1409674, 1405521
    2. Go to t-code FIBF - From menu select Settings - P/S Modules - of an SAP Application - Create entry
    For Turkey we've added the following entry (depends on country) :
    00003040 TR CONVERT_IBAN_2_BANK_ACCOUNT_TR
    3. Go to V_T588M for module pool MP000900 and screen 2000 select IBAN & Q0009-IBAN00 fields as standard.
    4. Go to table T77S0 and make value of ADMIN IBAN entry S.

    I have created different fields in activesync form.
    I wanted to test what data is coming and how activesync input form is handling the data and processing it.
    I just had a look at the class files which are calling the activesync form but what i could understand is They are creating a query based on the schema map and the search predicate.
    But when it comes to input form I wanted to know what data is coming and how the input form and the resource compares.

    Hey,
    actually there are three generic objects filled for every record that is pulled from chang log when active sync polls.
    These are activesync objet global object,IAPI. What you could do is enable logging in the active sync configuration and tail the file, you can see how the active sync adapter gets data fro change log ane what are changes.

We just changed some SMARTFORMS to the new Adobe Forms technology. Now we learned that direct frontend printing does not work with these forms.

    I think you'll be disappointed by a rather negative answer but I'll try to explain everything I know (or think I know) the best I can
    The simplest solution is to do a preview, and print from Adobe Reader! (as I could see on one project, users have to display one more dialog than usually to print) It's the best workaround according to me.
    How Adobe form printing works:
    When you print an Adobe form from SAP, a printer language (PCL, PS, ZPL, PDF) is retrieved from TSP0B table according to the device type, ADS (Adobe Document Services, installed in the SAP java stack) is then contacted to generate the form: a file corresponding to the printer language is generated and sent back to SAP (there are also 2 other little files but it's of none interest here). SAP stores it as a file (named SPOOL...) in the global directory (DIR_GLOBAL when you use AL11 transaction).
    When you ask SAP to print it, it sends the file as is to the printer.
    Note: when you ask SAP to display the spool, SAP sends a request to ADS which will send back a PDF (binary stream which is not stored on disk, just displayed on frontend).
    How frontend printing works:
    If you want to print a normal spool via frontend, SAP doesn't know the language of the printer you will choose. SAP sends the spool in a format named SAPWIN to a frontend program named SAPLPD, it converts the SAPWIN format into GDI, a Windows format that is understood by all printer drivers, and it is sent to the printer driver (you have selected) which converts the GDI format into the printer language.
    Any workaround?
    First possibility would be that ADS converts the PDF into SAPWIN format (by creating an Adobe .XDC file at the ADS side). SAP says it's not possible in Note 685571 - Printing PDF-based forms. As I understand, SAPWIN is a very simple language compared to PCL for example, so it is very difficult to convert a PDF to SAPWIN without losing much information. There's a SAP note about the SAPWIN language if you want to check.
    Second possibility is to print directly the PDF through Adobe Reader: you get the PDF from ADS, download it to the frontend (easy), and execute directly Adobe Reader print function. Unfortunately, I don't know if it's possible. Moreover, we should enhance the standard SAP print dialog...
    Third possibility is the one I recommended at the beginning of this post

    What exactly are your trying to do when you say "enable attachment icon"? Also, since you mention "Custom Form" I assume you are developing in the Oracle Enterpise Business Suite (EBS). Whatever you are attempting, there may already be an "Apps Approved" method for doing this.
