How to export to .vpe from photoshop CS 6 to after effect

In photoshop CS6, I can't find the option export to ".vpe" where it used to be in the vanishing point upper left corner. There is nothing now ! Where can i find it now please ? Thanks in advance !

This stuff hasn't changed from CS5 to CS6, so I'm not sure what you are asking.

As the subject says, how do I import footage from premier pro cs3 into after effects. I'm getting rather frustrated trying to figure this out.
Via copy & paste I can copy into after effects but this copys the whole of the track on the timeline, where as I just want 10 seconds copied. The 10 seconds I want to copy is a segment & was highlighted when I clicked copy.
Also when the full track gets copied, all my edits aren't copied & I get the raw track copied???
I've googled this, tried the "Add Dynamic Link" but all I want is to copy 10 seconds of footage from premier into after effects, add my effect & then copy it back, and I can't figure out how to do this simple thing

I am still not getting this.
I highlight the selection I want to copy into after effects. I copy & paste it & it pastes my entire footage without any off the edits I have made.
Having searched loads for this I can find no other answer than copy & paste.
Please please could you guy be more specific with your answers as I just can't figure this one?

Layer Opacity percentage from Photoshop is different in After Effects

When importing a layered PS CS3 document into AE CS3 with layers set to different opacity, AE interprets the % differently. AE displays the % as a whole number but when you click on the field you can see the number goes to at least the thousandths.
This is an issue as our animators need to usually make footage loop perfectly and if they use the default imported value as the start value, and then change it over time and then create a new keyframe at the end of the loop to the whole number it displays, it is actually different so there is a slight shift.
As you can see in this example:
PS layer opacity = 10%
AE layer opacity = 10.196%
PS layer opacity = 20%
AE layer opacity = 20%
PS layer opacity = 30%
AE layer opacity = 30.196%
PS layer opacity = 40%
AE layer opacity = 40%
PS layer opacity = 22%
AE layer opacity = 21.0968%
PS layer opacity = 88%
AE layer opacity = 87.8431%
Anyone else know why this is happening? This is a mind boggler for me.

FYI, our Macs are running:
OS X 10.5.4
AE CS3 8.0.2.27
PS CS3 10.0.1

Simple: AE will use a higher precision than Photoshop even in the 8bpc/16bpc modes, let alone 32bpc. Photoshop will surely use the same values internally, but it doesn't display them. Dunno why, but PS being the old dog it is, I'm not really wondering... More of a question for that forum for sure. Could of course also be a problem with different color profiles/ color space settings between the apps, so this might be worth checking. Maybe you are using an outdated version of a profile in one of them... A simple solution inside AE would be to simply nail down those values with expressions, e.g.
opacity.valueAtTime(thisComp.startTime)
Otherwise: Stay away from the evil Photoshop. ;-)

White borders on objects I import from photoshop and illustrator into after effects?

No matter what format or what program I use to create elements for my After Effects project they import in with a frustrating white border around it. I don't remember this happening in earlier version on AE, right now I'm working on AE cs5.5. Anybody have any clue what's going on? Thank you very much for your time!

How to export some data from the tables of an owner with integrity?
I want to bring some data from all tables in a single owner of the production database for development environment.
My initial requirements are: seeking information on company code (emp), contract status (status) and / or effective date of contract settlement (dt_liq_efetiva) - a small amount of data to developers.
These three fields are present in the main system table (the table of contracts). Then I thought about ...
- create a temporary table from the query results table to contract;
- and then use this temporary table as a reference to fetch the data in other tables of the owner while maintaining integrity. But how? I have not found the answer, because: what to do when not there is the possibility of a join between the contract and any other table?
I am considering the possibility of consulting the names of tables, foreign keys and columns above, and create dynamic SQL. Conceptually, something like:

2º- for the tables without relation (fk) and which are within the owner (MYOWNER) the data is exported only based on the parameter SAMPLE?

If you need to export vector data Photoshop is not the first choice but if you have Type Layers (without faux styles), Vector Masks or Paths it is possible.

I don't use the latest InDesign, but in the past ID's options for exporting to PDF did not allow setting how a PDF should be viewed once exported. However, these settings can be adjusted in Acrobat through Preferences: check out Page Layout and Zoom under Page Display.

How to extract channels names from PhotoShop-written TIFFs?

Hi,
Does anybody know how to extract channel names from PhotoShop-written TIFFs? (I'm really asking about spot color channel names, as basic channel names, such as "Red," "Green," "Blue" or "Cyan," "Magenta," "Yellow," and "Black" can obviously be derived from the color space tag.)
There's some XMP data in those TIFFs, but manual inspection does not seem to reveal channel names. So, this may not be an XMP question, after all. There's also a larger (for metadata) data block associated with a private (Adobe) tag, which could contain the information. It's binary, though, and I wouldn't know how to crack it open.
The data must be present somewhere in the file, as PhotoShop will show the channel names on re-open of the TIFF.
There's a TIFF/IT TIFFTAG_INKNAMES tag, which PhotoShop doesn't utilize.
Any pointers greatly appreciated.

What settings are best to export sharpened images from Photoshop to use in Final Cut?

I need to give a professional photographer the correct dimensions to export her images from Photoshop for me to use in Final Cut. I told her:
1080 x 1920, 300 dpi, and also to Convert Images to Apple RGB (Final Cut doesnt work well with Adobe RGB, I am told). Her images have alot of heavy sharpening on them--she is an artist--and when i import them into Final Cut, many of the lines that should be crisp are zig-zagged, and if I apply motion to them, they "shake."
My problem is specific to images that have been highly sharpened in Photoshop; i have imported lots of professional images before with no problem. I am on deadline and hope someone out there will see this.

You were right about trashing the finalcut plist. As well as a very specific set of directions I now have put together from what you and others have said elsewhere, and this is it, i hope it helps others with their Canon XHA1 and Final Cut Express HD:
Trash the final cut preferences (plist) in your Home - LIbrary.
go into the Canon XHA1 menu, make sure that you're not set to down-convert to DV.
Get out of the menu. Shut the camera off,
plug in the firewire cable to both the camera and computer,
and turn the camera back to VCR mode.
Open up Final Cut, and go to Easy Setup ,
choose HDV- Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60
This worked beautifully but took me nearly four hours to figure out, including researching the web and experimenting in FCE HD

The conversion between the character sets on the two servers are handled automatically. Export from one server will export the data given the character set defined on that server. Import into another server will import the data given the character set defined on that server, performing a conversion if necessary. This can be a problem when going from single-byte to a multi-byte character set. In your case, the warning is simply for your information, shoule be no real problem given the character sets you're using.

Import your sample CAD file into A3DReviewer, select a single part then right click " Isolate "
The single part is isolated, now go to File/export select the extension file needed and press ok.
Only the isolated part is exported.
