Publish PeopleSoft Application Package as WebService

hello,
Did you guys try to expose application package as a webservice in Peoplesoft?
If at all can we expose anything other than CI as a webservice in peoplesoft?
Please help.

I guess only Integration broker objects and CI can be exposed. Hope my question and answer helps someone:)

  • Publish PLSQL Package as webservice using Jdeveloper

I am getting error as "cannot create target" when i published as a web service for select.
    Procedure has 4 IN Parameters and 4 OUT Parameters in which one of the OUT Parameter is of table type. When i click invoke button the error details are as follows

    Have you tried using the DB adapter for stored procedures? Is your "record" type a PL/SQL record type? Or is it a SQL object type? If it's the former then the adapter will automatically generate corresponding object types. A package is also generated that contains a wrapper API for your original procedure. The package also includes conversions to convert between the record and the object types. If it's the latter, then the adapter does nothing special as it can handle object types. Once deployed, your API will be executed with an included instance XML for the inbound parameters. XML will be generated containing values of outbound parameters. In your case, if the data type is a PL/SQL record, the problem may be that record is not a supported data type.

  • Integration with PeopleSoft Applications Using Oracle SOA Suite 11g BPEL

    Hi,
    I'm integrating BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 Application on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 11g. The BPEL invokes the web service method generated from Peoplesoft Component Interface in a synchronuos manner.
    I have deployed the BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper successfully but I have problem in configuring the BPEL node in Peoplesoft side using Oracle SOA Suite 11g(FMW) . I had done the integration of BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 10g earlier successfully by configuring BPEL node properties as follows:
    BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:8888/BPELConsole (System with Oracle SOA Suite 10g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
    Using this BPEL node configuration, I was able to ping the BPEL console of Oracle SOA Suite 10g from peoplesoft and hence complete the integration successfully.
    Now in order to acomplish Business rules and other functionality, the BPEL application has been developed in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper 11g. This time I'm not able to configure the BPEL node in Peoplesoft for this integration as I'm assuming there is no separate BPEL console in Oracle SOA Suite 11g. All the BPEL deployments are administered in console (11g console used for deployment of BEPL)
    http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server - Fusion Middleware).
    So when I Configured the BPEL node property in Peoplesoft as :
    BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
    I'm not able to ping the Peoplesoft BPEL node to the Oracle SOA Suite 11g. Hence I'm not able to proceed with my integration.
    When I searched the OTN discussion forum on BPEL console for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, all threads point that there is no separate BPEL console unlike Oracle SOA Suite 10g. Also most of the articles for Integration with Peoplesoft Application using SOA 11g do not state any specific configuration setting for property of Peoplesoft BPEL node in order to integrate with BPEL 11g. The examples published in OTN still point towards screen shots of integration using SOA Suite 10g.
    So I'm not able to proceed in this regard.
    Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Girish

    typo error

    Hi,
    I found this document from the Oracle Open World 2009 (maybe you have found it too) :
    "Integration with PeopleSoft applications using oracle soa suite 11g BPEL" --> [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/fmw4apps/peoplesoft/pdf/oow2009-bpel-psft.pdf]
    And this could be a little more simple, but have a good step-by-step tutorial.
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/fusion_middleware/fusion/soa/BPEL_PS848/OBE_PSFT_BPEL_848.htm]
    I think you must read this docs by now, but never come amiss.
    Hope this can help you,
    By the way, if you can help me with this I'll appreciate it a lot.

  • Exposing plsql Packages as webservices using JDeveloper

    Hi folks,
    I'm using Jdeveloper to publish database package/ procedures as webservices.These procedures use objects types as parameters (Varchar2's). I can generate the webservices (by the JDeveloper wizard), the WSDL file is generated;
    Question is about the required and optional fields. In my procedure declaration I defined the input as Varchar2 and also defined a default
    Procedure p ( p_var IN VARCHAR2 Default NULL) AS
    BEGIN
    NULL;
    END;
    But when I deploy this package as webservice (via jdeveloper) to our weblogic server, and run a test, I get errors related to required fields if I don't pass in any value.
    Invalid input arguments for the following fields: p_var value required
    How would I change this behavior ? I made the procedures to accept default parameters ( even when no value is passed I would want my code to run)
    Thanks in advance,
    Prashanth

    Thanks Timo !
    Found out to be an issue with Oracle Fusion Middleware control (http://<hostname>:<port>/em ) validating for required Inputs, but when tested with SOAP UI or Web logic Test Client (http://<hostname>:<port>/wls_utc) it works as expected. Reported the issue to Oracle Support and the problem has been reproduced there.

  • Internal server error when publishing an application.

    Hi,
    I am using the Java Consolidator API to create, drop, etc... my Publications, Items, Scripts,... I have created a Publication and a Publication Item in the repository following the Oracle documentation. So far everything went well. However, If I try to publish an application (using the Packaging-Assistent), which uses the created Publication, the Packaging Assistent fails with INTERNAL SERVER ERROR: 500.
    I have also tried to create a JAR archive with the Packaging Assistent and publish the JAR Application directly in the WEBTOGO. This has, however, also failed, though with the following error:
    oracle.lite.web.resource.ResourceException: ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("MOBILEADMIN"."APPLICATIONS"."DSN")
    Does anyone have a clue, what could be the problem?
    Thank you in advance,
    Filip
    BTW: We are working with Oracle Lite 10.3.0.2. We have also tested it with the 10.3.0.3 with the same result.

    An oracle lite 'application' has three levels in a hierarchy
    Application - the 'header' and the thing you associate users and files to
    Publication - the 'database header' contains all of the publication items
    Publication items - individual replication objects
    If you just use the APIs, it only creates the Publication and Publication items, NOT the application. Yoou can use APIs to associate users with the publication etc. but not via the mobile manager
    Try the following in sequence (need to drop the publication you have created first)
    1) create the application using the jar file from the packaging wizard. This should just define the application in terms of name, platform, files etc. can add in publication item definitions, but do NOT add the things in your API script
    This will create the application and publication with a name you specify (eg: testapp)
    2) in your API script, rather than create the publication, find it eg:
    static String publicationId;
    /* Work out the publication identifier */
    Connection conn = cm.getConnection();
    Statement st = conn.createStatement();
    sql = "SELECT name "
    + "FROM C$ALL_TEMPLATES "
    + "WHERE name_template = 'testapp.%s' ";
    rows = st.executeQuery(sql);
    rows.next();
    publicationId= rows.getString(1);
    now use publicationId in your addPublicationItem calls to add the publication items to the publication
    NOTE when using both the packaging wizard jar method and the APIs, you need to be very careful. If you re-run the jar file it will wipe out the publication items, so it should only be used for initial application create.
    We use the jar file to create the application and publication, and this includes the creation of the complete refresh publication items and sequence definitions. We then run an API script to create all of the other publication items with thier indexes etc.
    Once the application it published we then ONLY use the API scripts to make changes

  • Access Peoplesoft applications in Portal.

    Hello Guru's,
    I have a requirement, to have People soft application, to access from Portal.
    To elaborate:
    We have some processes or applications on Peoplesoft server. And want to have a link in Portal which will redirect to Peoplesoft application.
    Please help me how to do this.
    Any inputs really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pramod
    Points will be awarded for helpful answers.

    Hi Pramod,
    To access Peoplesoft applications from Portal you have two options :
    1) By using Appintegrator iView : As all the applications in peoplesoft has their own urls like for attendance regularization, leave applicaion etc., you create appintegrator iview which points to ur peoplesoft application and by doing user-mapping, users can access these applications. Refer link for [How to use appintegrator iview|http://help.sap.com/bp_epv160/documentation/How-to_Guides/25_HowToUseAppIntegrator_en.pdf]
    2) By developing application in VC: You can easily create nice looking applications in VC & host them on portal. VC can pull data from peoplesoft in 3 ways :
          - By using WebService : Expose peoplesoft applications as web services and u can easily create model in VC. (Recommended)
          - Directly accessing database using JDBC drivers : Though this approach is not recommended, u can directly connect to peoplesoft database tables and fetch the desired data.
          - iWay JDBC drivers : These are 3rd party drivers available to connect to peoplesoft database.
    I hope this will help u.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • How is PeopleSoft Application made !

    Hi All,
    I have a very basic question
    1. If someone wants to use a peoplesoft application for his CRM needs is this application made from scratch is it developed or peoplesoft applications come as a redy package and one just has to customize it according to his needs.
    2. What areas of Business is Peoplesoft currently used in.
    3. If there is a particular screen for e.g a Page in Peoplesoft the field names will be what the company provides with its bundled package or one can customize the field names.
    4. Where does the Data comes from in a peoplesoft application is it connected to any Database or it has its own database. If yes which is the Databse that is widely used and is compatible with peoplesoft applications.
    5. If there is a QA team in an organization what is the scope of Testingin testing a peoplesoft application.
    I hope some one of you can please give me a answer on this soon need it urgent.
    Thanks in advance.

    Well, I cannot understand the urgency regarding such questions.
    Anyway,
    1. Depending of the needs, Peoplesoft CRM could be ready to use as it is delivered. Some customizations could be done if any specifics needs are not covered by the standard Peoplesoft features. Depending if the business wants to work as it is designed by Peopelsoft, or if the business wants to keep their way of work and consequently change Peoplesoft standard behaviour.
    2. Not sure to understand what areas you are looking for, but CRM, HRMS, FSCM, EPM... are some business areas covered by Peoplesoft products.
    3. Customizations should not touch the core of Peoplesoft code. If you need customization, develop your own code and field on top of the Peoplesoft objects, you'll realize how it is benefits and how many time you'll gain if Peoplesoft upgrade or Peoplesoft bundle installation take place later on. Never change Peoplesoft standard objects is the first rule of Peoplesoft dev (there's maybe few exceptions).
    4. Scope of testing a Peoplesoft appl ? It is wide scope and depending what business you are working on, etc. But the QA team should take care about the rules of customization as I said above.
    Nicolas.

  • Retrieve data from a non-peoplesoft application using HTTP Get

    I need to retrieve data from a non-peoplesoft application. They want us to submit a HTTP GET request to their URL with a series of parameters. I am thinking about using HTTP Targert connector to accomplish this. Does anyone have sample peoplecode?
    Currently we are on 8.51.10 Tools...
    If there is any better way .. please let me know ..

    I have used HTTP Get to get XML file from a government sanction list by hitting URL http://www.treasury.gov/ofac/downloads/sdn.xml
    There is a delivered PS program that does that for vendor sanctions. I had to get the online setup correctly by creating a new custom Node with HTTP Target Connector. The program name is BSP_IMPORT. The below code is responsible for the calling the node and retrieving the data. Play around with the code below see if you can get it to meet your needs.
    BSP_IMPORT_AET.BANKNODE.Value is just the custom external code that I created.

  • Issue with UAG/TMG communication to published SharePoint application is blocked by access policy settings

    We have a UAG/TMG server set up with SharePoint published. The UAG is also doing load balancing for the SharePoint farm. We have an MDM application that is trying to connect to our SharePoint but our SharePoint is routed through the UAG. The MDM application
    does not need to be published neither is there any component that can be accessed directly by end users. It is more of a proxy to relay content to mobile devices. It is using 443 and two other secondary ports.
    On the TMG logs, we can see requests hitting the TMG over port 443 from the MDM application server. We can also see that it is trying to be routed to our SharePoint but we get the following error in the TMG log:
    “Filter information: A request from source IP address xx.xx.xx.xx, user to trunk portal; Secure=1 for application SharePoint of type SharePoint15 failed. The endpoint device does not comply with access policy settings ([%PolicyId%]) for session [%SessionId]”
    The source IP is the internal IP of the host running the MDM application. In the UAG side, under the SharePoint publishing rule, for Access Policy Settings we have tried selecting the 'Always' option but that had no effect. It appears like there is a policy
    blocking communication to SharePoint. Does anyone have a suggestion on which policy or where the policy that is controlling this is located so that we can try to resolve this issue? Thanks.

    Looking at the UAG Web Monitor, it says that the access policy is 'Hybrid_Default_Session_Access' and the URL is /_vti_bin/Webs.asmx.
    We can't find a 'Hybrid Default Session Access' policy. In the Endpoint Policy Settings tab, we tried using 'Always' for the Access Policy for the published SharePoint application but that did not make any difference.

  • SOAP and Java within an Application Package

    We are doing an integration with Oracle Content Server. We have successfully checked in reports by sending a SOAP with attachments message in the application package PSRF_REPORT_CREATE calling custom Java methods.
    All is well, until we try and receive the SOAP response, in which nothing happens. After we call the checkin.SendMessage (our java method to checkin a report), we use the following generic PeopleCode insert statement just to test if the next line of the code is executing...
    SQLExec("INSERT INTO UCM_CHECKINLOG VALUES (1234, 'test')");
    This does not update our database, and it looks as if it is not even executing. We have also tried logging to a test file, but this fails to run as well. If it is directly after our soap request, why would it not run? Is there something we need to do to tell the system to wait for the response before commencing?
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Just to make sure I understand the question... You customized the PSRF_REPORT_CREATE.CreateReport PeopleCode by adding some Java (JavaObject, etc). Is checkin your custom Java object with SendMessage being a method of that object? Are you using a Java SOAP client, like Axis2, to communicate with the Oracle Content Server or are you using Integration Broker? Again, just to verify, you are calling a Java method called "SendMessage." You can tell this is executing because you can see changes in your Oracle Content Server. However, as far as you can tell, no statements after that statement are executing. Is this correct?

  • prefer-application-packages and prefer-web-inf-classes not working

    Hi,
    I'm upgrading to Weblogic 10.3.2 an application that was running quite fine in Weblogic 8. But I don't manage to get it working in WL 10. I'm getting a Class Not Found error (javax/xml/stream/XMLStreamWriter) but that class is in one of the jar files of my application: "<war-file>/WEB-INF/lib"
    It seems a class loading problem but I'm using both <prefer-application-packages> and <prefer-web-inf-classes> and it's still not working. This is my weblogic-application.xml:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <weblogic-application>
    <prefer-application-packages>
    <package-name>javax.xml.stream.*</package-name>
    </prefer-application-packages>
    </weblogic-application>
    I'm deploying using an ear file wich contains a war file.

    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.xml.stream.XMLStreamWriter

    Hi!
    We have the jar xbean-2.2.0.jar in APP-INF/lib. That one contains the class javax.xml.namespace.NameSpaceContext. I saw that the same class was in another jar as well. I've removed it from the second jar and now it's only in the xbean-2.2.0.jar. But I still get the same error. Maybe there is something wrong in my application.xml? I have all the jars in APP-INF/lib and in <war-file>/WEB-INF/lib
