VS 2005 not recognizing CR XI release 2

Visual Studio  2005 not recognizing CR XI release 2.
Using XP.
I am a newbie to CRXI and VS2005.
Sequence of events:
I had installed Crystal Reports8.5.
Then installed  VS 2005.
Because I needed CR XI,  I uninstalled Crystal 8.5.
Then installed CR XI release 2. (SP 2 and 5)
Now from VS 2005 help -> I donu2019t see CR XI Release 2.
I only see
  Crystal Reports
Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005
I tried different permutaions of  installing and uninstalling  CR XI R2 and VS 2005 but had no luck.
When running the C# program (that communicates between our Java App and Crystal Reports) , It complains about not able to find the following
       CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
       CrystalDecisions.Shared and
       CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms
On my XP machine, these are under
          C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\2.7\Managed
But for my colleague who has this working (Vista machine), these dlls are under
          C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\Managed folder
On my machine there is no folder called u201Cmanagedu201D under
         C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\
I am assuming that if
    - VS2005 realizes that there is CR XI Release 2 on my machine, the during the installation of VS2005  installation it will probably add the dlls under ...\common\3.5\managed\
and I will be all set.
Any help in this matter is appreciated.

Hi Jonathan!
Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

  • Early 2005 G5 not recognizing RAM, optical door not opening

    Hi,
I recently received a Power Mac G5, Early 2005, Dual Core 2.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB HD, running OS 10.5.8.
I decided to invest in this machine, so I ordered a paired 1 GB RAM (for a total of 2 GB RAM) from OWC. Then when trying to install software, I found the computer's optical drive door does not open at all. I could hear the optical drive trying to open but figured it was old and defective/worn out. So I also ordered a new optical drive from OWC. I also made sure to order the correct screws that OWC recommended for the optical drive too, as my original optical drive was a Sony and I saw there are some issues with the screws or height.
I installed the 2 x 1 GB paired RAM, and the G5 is not recognizing the RAM. In System Profiler, the slots show as empty. The RAM did not really click in like other RAM I have installed on my PowerBook G4, my former G3 Beige, and my former Power PC 6100. The hinges on the sides closed but not quite all the way, so I figure OWC sent me the wrong RAM and removed them before RAM issues start. I also noticed the RAM is slightly taller in height next to the original RAM.
The new optical drive installed fine, with the proper screws. However when I try to open it using the "eject" on the keyboard, the optical drive does try to open but the exterior door on the G5 case itself is not opening. It does show up in the System Profiler. When I had the G5 open and no optical drive installed, I doublechecked the exterior optical drive door with my finger, and it would open from the inside of the case poking my finger out, but not from the outside poking in.
Also, I noticed that the Model Identifier doesn't quite match up with the specs at OWC, Crucial, or elsewhere. According to the specs I should have 7,2, not 7,3? I ran the serial number at the Dutch website and also here at Apple, and both have said Early 2005. Is this why I may have the wrong RAM?
    Model Name: Power Mac G5
    Model Identifier: PowerMac7,3
    Processor Name: PowerPC G5 (3.1)
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of CPUs: 2
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

The RAM should fit then, it does snap in, but not always easily!
I couldn't get the last pair in until I laid the box on its side. For some reason, when it was upright I couldn't get the DIMMs to fully engage the socket. Zero insertion force it definitely ain't!
I see the OWC price is now about $3 lower than our local good supplier down here. I'll limp along on what I have in the machine now; it seems to work pretty well and three days after maintenance (DW, of course) and reboot, I still have zero page outs, which is a good sign, I guess.

  • Monitor not recognized by Mac anymore?????

    Hi
This is big and what is APPLE doing to solve this issue??
I just copy some posts from the forum to show how big this issue is, there is 8 more pages with the same problem, and i am one of them!!!!
HELP!!!! WE ARE FREAKING OUT HERE AND NEED A SOLUTION!!!
Yes, me. I have an HP w2207 who worked with my 3 y.o. old MacBook (OS 10.4.??) via the DVI-port flawlessly. Then bought a brandnew MacBook Pro with 10.6.X and the external monitor stopped being recognized. It works now that I have changed the connection to the VGA-port of the monitor (and bought yet another adapter for the MacBook Pro) but the quality is not what I'm used to.

Yes. I've tried 7 different Macs including a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard (10.6.2) and my external monitor doesn't work with it either.
    For me here's a recap:
Installed SL on a Mac Pro connected to a 23" Cinema via DVI and Olevia 537 via HDMI Input #1 and now that input no longer works with Mac computers.
Reinstalled 10.5.8 on the Mac Pro and HDMI #1 still didn't work, so I plugged the Mac into HDMI #2 and it worked.
Reinstalled SL on the Mac Pro connected to a 23" Cinema via DVI and Olevia 537 via HDMI Input #2 and now that input no longer works with Mac computers.
Since then, every device (PCs, DVD Players, Video Cameras, etc...) I connect to either of the HDMI inputs work fine. However, neither HDMI input works with ANY of the 7 different Macs (regardless of OS version) I've tried, except for a 10-year-old G4 running Panther or Tiger.
The monitor had previously worked with the MacPro (HDMI input #1) and a G5 (HDMI input #2) for almost 2 years.
When I plug the MacPro into any other monitor via HDMI, it works fine. Same thing with the G5.
My theory is still that the installer for Snow Leopard somehow made my monitor's HDMI inputs incompatible with Macs. I'm so frustrated that I'm ready to buy a new monitor, but since there's no guarantee that a new monitor won't be adversely affected by Snow Leopard, I'm still dubious.

    Another "me too" post...
Not sure exactly when it stopped working (since I don't use it every day) but my Viewsonic VX2455wm stopped working with my MacBook recently too. Checked with another MacBook (six months newer than my Late 2006 model) and that exhibited the same problem. Both machines have fully patched Snow Leopard installs. Both started with Tiger. Mine is regularly connected to the external monitor, the other has never been connected. I'm connecting using a DVI cable and a mini-DVI-DVI adapter.
The monitor appears to work correctly. I've checked with a Windows laptop connected on the VGA port. I want to test with another DVI-enabled machine to see whether or not its the cable.

    Hi Guys
I have the same problem with my new Dell 2209WAf. It worked fine before i changed from L to SL.
I didn't know what happened so i have spend hours and hours to resolve the problem.
Hours with Mac support and friends didn't change anything, i still cant make my Dell to work, or show up in preferences. I am working as a photographer and this issue is a real problem.
I just heard from Mac Support that Apple is working on it.....well, doesn't help us with the problem today.
So Apple, DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! NOW! this problem should NEVER showed up, this is something you should have fixed before telling all the Macers to upgrade!!!

Experiencing the same issues. However, on bit different hardware.
I'm using the XLR8 ProView USB input devices. Using these devices on a mixture of 10.5.8 and 10.6.2 systems (2 MacBooks, 2 Mac Mini and 1 iMac).
    I can confirm the following:
When attempting to mirror video, or extend the desktop, using a mini-DVI to S-Video/Composite device on OSX 10.6.2 no video is sent to the mini-DVI device (inputing into the XLR8).
When attempting to mirror video, or extend the desktop, using a mini-DVI to S-Video/Composite device on OSX 10.5.8 video is sent to the mini-DVI device (inputing into the XLR8).
Let me also state, that the mini-DVI port on the Mac Mini's do work. They have been connected to 19" monitors and working without issue. Today, the mini-DVI devices were replaced with minidisplay port devices, which are use in conjunction with the mini-DVI ports.
It would appear, in my case, that the problem is that the mini-DVI port on both the MacBook and Mac Mini, running 10.6.2, as a secondary display device is not operating properly.

Same problems here. I reloaded OS 10.4.6 which is what shipped with my MBP1,2 17" 2.16 Intel Core Duo 2GB ram and after installing that, i was able to select 1920x1080 for my external HP w2338h, DVI-VGA, never been able to connect DVI-HDMI. On SL, the max rez I was able to "use" was 1600x1200 which looked horrible. So this leads me to suspect that this must be an issue with SL.
I spoke with Apple Tech support on Sat and was no help. The only suggestion was that I take my MBP and Monitor to the Apple Store. Those of you who are fortunate enough to live in Chicago in the winter, then you know that option really isn't that feasible, it is but just a giant pain.

I have an iMac 9,1 Intel Core 2 Duo that I bought last June. It came with Leopard, but I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Currently, it's running 10.6.2. My HP w2207 Widescreen monitor works perfectly with it using the DVI port on the HP and the mini-display (not mini-DVI) port on the iMac.
However, I just bought the top-of-the-line iMac 11,1 Intel Core i5 QuadCore three days ago and it crashes nearly every time that it wakes from "sleep" when the HP w2207 is connected to it. It doesn't even recognize that the w2207 is connected to it. Additionally, when the w2207 is connected, it (a) looks terrible - very dim and very granular, and (b) causes the iMac QuadCore to operate very sluggishly. When I disconnect the HP w2207, the iMac QuadCore is lightning-fast.
Much like my older iMac, the QuadCore is running 10.6.2 and I'm using the mini-display port.

Another me too post. I have a new 17" MacBook Pro with 10.6.2 installed. Trying to connect to an HPL2245wg - sometimes it works flawlessly - other times not at all. Some mornings I spend 30 -40 minutes rebooting, unplugging and plugging the monitor, Detecting Displays, changing the Graphics Card (Energy settings) - all to no avail. Very, very frustrating Apple - please figure out what is going on with this issue....and get it fixed!

I seem to have found a fix for myself. I was having terrible issues with the screen blinking and flickering constantly. I tried to reset the SMC with everything unplugged and the computer would not reboot at that point on it's own which led me eventually to reinstalling SL.
Reinstalling SL is quite painless actually as it installs on top of your profile. After reinstalling I ran software update which installs the cumulative upgrades. Now I usually don't have any problems but must follow the instructions to run in clamshell mode to the letter.
After a week of running in clamshell mode I started having an issue with the dock not lining up so I put the computer to sleep, disconnected the monitor and restarted with nothing connected. After that, followed the clamshell mode instructions again and have been working fine again all week.
I've also disabled my screen-saver, and deleted the windowserver preferences as part of my debug process but not sure if that has contributed to my new found stability.

Me too. I have a MacBook Pro 2,2 running the latest Snow Leopard 10.6.2. After I have installed yesterday's security patch it does not recognize external displays on the DVI port any longer. Tried it with a 23" DELL at the office and a 23" Samsung at home. Both have worked without any problems for years.
I am curious to learn how this behavior is related to security...

To paraphrase the portion of the sticky above that is relevant to you:
Creative Labs does not make a sound card that ENCODES multi-channel sound into an S/PDIF output. All they can do is pass-through AC-3/DTS sound from DVDs and PCM (stereo) sound for other sources, such as games.
In other words, if you play games with multi-channel output, you must use analog/mini-jack cables to send sound to your speaker system or home theater receiver's 5./7. RCA inputs.
If you want realtime 5. encoding for games, so you can just use one digital cable from your sound card to your receiver, then you must look elsewhere, or wait for Creative Labs to release their DTS-60 ($99), which is an external device that takes 5. analog sound and creates a digital DTS stream.

Your Touch is working correctly. Currently, without unsupported third party hacks, the Touch has NO disc mode. It will only show up in iTunes.

Right now, you don't. The SDK is scheduled to be released in Feburary. Then developers will be able to write programs that will be loadable.

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.1399.00
I think it is security issue. What schould i do to solve this problems?
    Wojtek

    Hi Wojtek
I just wanted to know if you found a solution for part (1).  I just recently encountered the problem where:
"when i try to execute reports in report manager, parameters controls are not displayed correctly (very simple text boxes) and I can see:
The selected report is not ready for viewing. The report is still being rendered or a report snapshot is not available. (rsReportNotReady) "
However all my reports are run from the most recent data.  The rsReportNotReady message appears in Report Manager but not the Report Server interface; the latter is able to render the reports.   But both have incorrectly displayed textbox inputs.
    Thanks

  • Repeat request 4 help - iTunes 6.0 not recognizing purchased

I'm re-posting this question, hoping for help... thanks!
iTunes 6.0 software not recognizing purchased songs
    ( msg # 1.: Posted Oct 15, 05 9:14 pm )
    Good Evening,
I had written for help before, but couldn't get the 5.0.1 problem resolved. There was great advice (bnoir, et al), but lack of time and frustration played a factor.
So I hear Itunes 6.0 is out and I figure it's a fix to the problems people had with the previous version. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
I run iTunes on a Windows XP platform on an IBM computer (from the Dell people). I have a 3rd generation iPod, which has 20 gigs.
My iTunes shows that I have 5239 songs (some of which are short comedy bits) that I've never had a problem uploading to my iPod before the upgrades (5 and above). Here's what I've done to resolve this problem so far:
    1) Uninstalled Quicktime
    2) Turned off my spyware and virus programs
    3) Downloaded the newest version of Quicktime (standalone application file)
    4) Uninstalled iTunes 5.0.1 version
    5) Restarted the computer
    6) With spyware and virus off, installed quicktime, then iTunes 6.0 version
Everything seemed to be working well. I suddenly could play music on the newest version with my computer. It didn't freeze, I was thrilled.
    HERE COMES THE PROBLEM:
Plugged in my iPod to do an update... haven't been able to do so since late August 2005. Got an error message that read
"Some of the songs in the iTunes music library were not copied to the iPod "Josette's iPod" because your iPod software is too old. Got to www.apple.com/ipod to get the latest iPod software update."
So now, instead of 5239 songs, my iPod only has 4858. It doesn't look like it downloaded any songs that I had purchased from the iTunes music store. That's 370 songs, none of which are showing. But theres a few more than that (do the math), but not many.
I did a screenshot of the error message, which I typed out above. I'd send you the shot, but I couldn't figure out how to attach it to this forum.
Any assistance would be appreciated. I'd love to hear these songs in my car! :-D
    Thanks,
    ~ Josette ~

Posts: 7 Oh yeah, one more tiny thing...
Don't know if it makes any difference, but the iTunes software won't let me get into change info in the MY ACCOUNTS area. Says I need to change the computer date to sync up automatically with the internet. I checked the setting, and it does, so that can't be the problem.
It also says to check the computer's ability to accept cookies. From the internet tools menu, I can see that I'm on Medium security level, and that's not changed since I had iTunes originally.
I emailed this question to APPLE earlier this evening, but the reply said it would take around 72 hours to answer.
Don't know if that's related or not... but it's worth adding to the pot.
Is it worth going back and uploading an OLD version of iTunes? Maybe the 4.? version? (Not that I'd know where to find that, but it's worth asking).
    Bnoir, anyone?
    THanks a bunch!

I returned the Mac Mini and got an iBook G4 instead.

  • Copy of a CD (created by Disk Utility) not recognized by Windows or Linux

I created a copy of AutoCAD 2005 (not pirating it... just wanted a backup copy of the install CD).
I used Disk Utility (File > New > Disk Image From Folder) to successfully create a DMG file on my MacBook. I could mount the DMG and browse all the files on it.
I then burned a CD (Disk Utility > select DMG > click burn), which mounts fine on OSX. However, my Windows and Linux boxes will not recognize it (while they recognize the original CD just fine).
I tried again, this time setting the file format to DVD/CD master. It made a CDR file, which I burned to CD. Got the same result: Windows and Linux don't recognize it while OSX does.
So instead I burned the files to a CD ala drag and drop using Finder. This time the CD was recognized by Windows and I used it to install AutoCAD.
However, my understanding is that doing it this way won't work for a bootable CD, so I'd like to figure out why Disk Utility wasn't able to make an exact copy.
Any thoughts? Problem with copy protection? Problem with the CD's file system?
Details about the optical drive in my MacBook (1st gen 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM):
    MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857:
    Firmware Revision: HBE4
    Interconnect: ATAPI
    Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipped/Supported)
    Cache: 2048 KB
    Reads DVD: Yes
    CD-Write: -R, -RW
    DVD-Write: -R, -RW, +R, +RW
    Burn Underrun Protection CD: Yes
    Burn Underrun Protection DVD: Yes
    Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO
    Media: No
    MacBook 1st gen CoreDuo 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Yeah OS X's Disk Utility doesn't burn using the ISO 9660 file system while Finder does (I could swear I made a copy of an MS Office CD with Disk Utility, but maybe I'm remembering wrong). Anyway, Disco (a program I got in a MacHeist bundle) will make an exact copy of CDs. Anyone looking for a free solution, check out LiquidCD and burn, which may have the ability to copy Windows CDs (appears to be on their lists of features, but I haven't tried them myself).

My ipod nano is not recognized in itunes on my computer, when it has in the past. How do I fix this problem?

I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.

Apple has release a new version of iTunes 8, in responce the issues with Vista.
    1.Unistall iTunes via StartMenu\Control Panel\Programs and Features
    2.Delete all previous iTunes installers.
3.Download iTunes 8 from the Apple website.
4.Makes sure you close Outlook and Explorer and all non-essential programs, as it seems to prevent the install at certain points.
    5.Install iTunes 8.
6.After the Install is complete, Open iTunes 8 before attaching your iPhone.
7.Unlock your iPhone if it is lock with a pass code.
8.Attach your iPhone, after a few seconds you should see that it has installed a driver for your iphone, then the iPhone will appear in iTunes.
I hope this helps, as I did spend some time with this issue myself.
