How to fix the width of ADF Table

Hi,
I am developing an application in ADF using ADF Faces Components . I am using Oracle Jdev 10.1.3.1.0
I am dropping the Transient View object as ADF Table on UI. I have set the width property of table to 100%, I have also changed the inlinestyle width also to 100%. These two did not work for me.
The issue is if a column has a value of bigger length the table size is extending and if the column has a value of smaller length the table size is reducing.
Is this the expected behaviour of the width property of the table ?? . Is there any way to fix the table size. Please provide me some pointers to fix the issue.

With this info in the table drop it is as view object on the UI.
Set the RangeSize to 2 in the PageDef.xml file
The issue is: For the first 4 rows the table size is showing perfectly but when it showing 5 and 6 row on the UI the table is stretching.
Please provide me some more pointers to fix this issue.

How to Fix the 1st row in Table
In EP, one of the page we are getting out put in the table format. It's working fine, but as per the new requirement we have to fix (freeze) the first row of the table. (.i.e. whenever I click the page down button first row should be visible in the table). Can you help regarding the above issue?
For Example: in Table having 6 rows. In 1st row display Year Month and 2,3,4---etc Rows will display Quantity. Click on Page down Button in Table we are able to staring 2row. First was a movie up. So End user canu2019t find which year/moth under the Quantity is available.
So I have to fix in 1st row. Click on page down button table 1st row is fixed but comes to another Quantity Records.
It is Possible in Table? If possible please tell me.

I don't think there is direct availabe method available to fix the row. However, there are two ways using which you can achieve the requirement:
To go ahead with the custom table. This way you can set your own properties for the table. However, this may impact performance handling large data.
Second option is to use other features of NW04s (Not available in NW04) like Table Popins using which you can achieve something similar.

How to fix the width of the column when using alv table

Hi ,
I am displaying the contents in a table. Of course using alv component i displayed the content. Now the problem is the column width is not fixed with value of the table entries( based on the domain length level). As length of field increases or decreses as the length of the content increases or decreases. I wanted to fix the column width whatever be the length of the contents.
Can any one help in this regard ?

Okay, I didnt try with the trinidad selectmanyshuttle, but this worked for me on the af:selectmanyshuttle..

For column wrapping you can use the SET_WRAPPING of cl_salv_wd_header and the data.....you have got cell editor for that column right...then using the cell edtior reference you can get the specific cell tyep(like cl_salv_wd_text_view type check this)
this is object reference and you can use the set_wrapping of this class. using this you can get the wrapping functionality for the data also....

           lr_column_header type ref to cl_salv_wd_header,
           lr_editor type ref to cl_salv_wd_uie,
           lr_textview type ref to cl_salv_wd_uie_text_view.

Can't fix the width of a table

I've created a Master/ Detail page set and it seems to be working fine, but I'm having a problem with the page layout for both the master and detail pages. The generated code creates a table that extends to the right hand side of the page and is too wide. I tried setting the width of the table and the widths of the columns but these seem to be being ignored or over-ridden. The master page is here http://hollisterairshow.com/feedback-suggestions-master.php and as you can see the Feedback Number 9 is way too wide in both the master and detail pages.
I don't see any CSS settings that could cause these issues. I'd really appreciate pointers on where to look next. I'm using Win XP/ IE8, but the same problem occurs with Firefox v3.5

You've added the table-layout attribute to the <body> tag and the <div class="container"> tag, not the <table> tag.
CSS attributes usually apply to specific tags. Some, such as width, apply widely to many tags. Others, such as table-layout, are very specific. Look up the correct use of a CSS property online before applying it.
The CSS table-layout attribute applies to the <table> tag:

Thus add
#maincontent table {
table-layout: fixed;
once to your stylesheet.
That rule targets any <table> tag inside an element with id="maincontent".

Hi,
if you are using a grid layout the witdht of the bars is not really fixed.
When you adjust the screen size, the charts and the bars in each chart rezise according to the size of your screen.
But that is one of the advantages using grids.
Otherwise the size of the chart and the bars is fixed but as far as I know there is no option to manually adjust the size/width of each bar.

increase the width:
- Report level:
result tab -> Click on Format container of Table -> Additional Formatting Options
u can assign value width : 500 height:.....
- dashboard level:
Edit options -> section -> Format section -> Additional Formatting Options
here also u can change the width

Fixing the width of a column in a pivot table.

Hi,
I have a report with a pivot table view.
In that pivot table i have a column called category and a measure called Amount.
My issue is, i need to fix the length of the the measured column to particular extent like $111,111,111,111.11 (Bold) for all the columns.
I went to Format Values for that column and add width=50 in the additional charting options.
But it's not reflecting for all the columns.
Is there any other way to resolve this one.

Dear Vam,
you can easily do that with css, search the source code of the executed web template for the td tag which is around your coloumn header, remember the style sheet class name it is ´displayed as class= in the td tag.
Now you can add this code the beginning of your web template:
</style>
This will only work in Web.

I have a Table View with filter='application'. The filter works fine but I am not able to control the width of the columns of the tableview .
On filtering, if there are not items in the table view the columns shrink to the minum width....and it looks very odd.

"FIXEDCOLUMN" did not help in the width of the column, but it just showed all the rows merged in the column.
I have a cloumn called "COUNTRY" and its width is set to "20". The Filter of the column "COUNTRY" is a dropdownlist whos value is update with new values.
On filtering if there is any row visible then the column width is adjusted to the maxmimum length of the dropdownlist ( this is because of the "EDIT" attribute in column definition ). But if there is no rows visiblel for the selected filter value then the filter row shrinks to the width = "20" and the dropdownlist is not visible completely.
Need to know how to control the width of the FILTER column.
