How to get a count of selected emails in mac mail

With the new OS version you can no longer select emails in mac mail and get a count of the seleced emails. Is there a way to do this?

How do I set up an alias email with Mac Mail, so that my alias shows up when I send email from my Mac Mail account?

I am have an email forwarding service, not an email account, which I want to set up as an alias for Mac Mail so that my email appears in the "from" address when I send messages from Mac Mail. There are a couple of ways of doing this. The easiest is probably to just add the secondary address in the Mail.app -> Preferences -> Accounts field.
The specifics of which vary a little based on the OS/Mail.app version you're running, but in Yosemite:
Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts
Select your iCloud account and change the 'Alias' popup menu from your iCloud address to 'custom'.
Doing this enables the 'Email Address' field. In this field you can enter the email address you want to appear in your From header.
If you want to use multiple addresses (e.g. your iCloud address and your other alias), you can enter a comma-separated list of addresses - e.g. '[email protected], [email protected]' and then you'll have a pop-up menu on each new message where you can choose the address to use for each outgoing message. This question has nothing to do with Address Book. My AB entries are up to date. However, one particular person I email frequently has probably had ten different addresses in the past few years. All of them still show up in Mail when I start to type his name in "To". I have to be careful to choose the right one, since his current, in-use address doesn't always show up at the top of the list (in fact, it seldom does). None of the old addresses are in my Address Book, it's somehow taking them from very old emails that have long (loooooong) since been trashed and the trash emptied. We're talking email addresses that go back years in some cases.
Anybody else experience this, or know how to delete out all of those old, out of date, unused addresses?

It wont take much time .. so simple :- )
Create one os comand step
( for unix) Use
wc -l filename.txt > someoutputfile.txt
Now the number of lines in your file will be there in the output file ( someoutputfile.txt )
Step2 :-
Now use Cezar's logic to fetch the variable value ( file count ) from the output file .. ( select value for a variable from a file )
This will not take eeven a second to finish the job.

Ah, I see -- thanks. Turns out that there's no difference in speed between texts.itemByRange(), characters.itemByRange(),and insertionPoints.itemByRange(). In a document with 170 pages of text, and with the cursor in the last paragraph, the second and third lines, below (and your function), give exactly the same result:
t = app.selection[0];
t.parentStory.texts.itemByRange (t.parentStory.insertionPoints[0], t).paragraphs.length;

Multi mappings r done in order to split the messages to the number of messages required by the user. So for 1:N mapping, the details about "N" is based on ur requirement. So its not like - when u split, any number of message could get created. The count would be dependent on u.

How to get the index of selected values in SelectManyChoice... the value which i get is coming when i submit the value second time

By using the given code i get the value of the selected indices, but problem here is i get the value when it get submits at the second time... First time the length of that int array is 0.
Second time it shows the value two times (i.e) First time submitted value and the second time submitted value. After that it works fine.. I have problem while clicking first time only..

Hello,
If you are looking for file download or view count then event handler will not work. You need to enable the analytic report to your site. Once you enable it then you can see the report within a browser or you can also create custom webpart to show count
of specific file.

THANKS! this worked !!!
I hit "DELETE THIS ACCOUNT" on my iphone (this is the Yahoo I tried to set up by "picking" it from the list that the iphone5 gives you) and then confirmed to delete everything.
THEN: while in Mail (still in the Settings Section) I tapped on "ADD ACCOUNT..." but this time tapped on "OTHER" and manually put in my yahoo ID and password and I did not even have to go to the SMTP or IMAP incomming/outgoing stuff at all. But I checked it out under the "ADVANCE" tab and it was already correct for yahoo. (ALMOST SEEMED TOO EASY)
Went to my home screen and tapped on MAIL and my yahoo email loaded up just right!
Now, I have no idea if I have any other issues like if I delete mail on the iphone; does it delete properly on my ipad...etc..etc. but one problem at a time is getting fixed. THANKS!
