How to get the size of an image?
yhanks
try something like:
// in case 'this' is a JComponent or something similar:
MediaTracker mt = new MediaTracker(this);
mt.addImage(myImg1, 1);
mt.addImage(myImg2, 2);
while (!(mt.checkAll(true))) {
try {
Thread.sleep(10);
} catch (InterruptedException iex) { }
// all loadedThis would load all images registered with the MediaTracker but also blocks execution of your program. You might want to start a different thread for this.
cheers,

How to get the size of partition?
The following SQL will get the rows of the fact table & aggregation. But how to get the size (MB) of the partition. select * from $system.discover_partition_stat That should be doable, because in BIDS, we can see the size of a partition, but from which
view we can do that?This is the best bet you have SELECT * FROM SystemRestrictSchema($system.discover_partition_stat ,DATABASE_NAME = 'Adventure Works DW' ,CUBE_NAME = 'Adventure Works' ,MEASURE_GROUP_NAME = 'Internet Sales' ,PARTITION_NAME = 'Internet_Sales_2003') Refer

How to get the size of a hard disk?
Hi,
As above, how to get the size of a hard disk by using Java.
Thanks you!
AlexI would be interested in the answer of this question, too.
In core Java there is no way to find it out in a platform independent manner because of the hardware abstraction of the VM. So my only idea is to write a native library for doing this and colling it via JNI -

How to decrease the size of an image (CS5)?
I need help with how to reduce the size of an image to fit various smaller sizes. E.g. 135 x 380mm, 254 x254mm etc mounted/matted. Therefore, the image must be made smaller than these sizes without losing quality and any part of the image. I am unable to crop to achieve these sizes since I need the full image. These photos were taken by using a Canon D450 camera and in both RAW & JPEG.
Your help is much appreciated.You may want to use Image > Image size... and dial in the sizes you want.
Set your units to mm in the dialog. Turn off resample and you can adjust the final print size.
What I am showing you is called "scaling", changing the print size without throwing out pixels as resample would do. Your image is intact. This is from CS6, but it should be about the same in CS5.

Binahi,
I have a database which contain an image. now i
want to retrieve this image & want to show this
image in my jsp page as user's defined size. I have
following code. My following code shows the original

the size of this image after saving this image
n a file. but i want to control the size of this
image without saving this image in a file? IS it
possible ? Is there anybody can help me?This has nothing to do with JDBC; you can only store and retrieve the image you have and there's no image manipulation functions in JDBC (nor should there be).
I can see 2 options:
1) serve the image file as is, but in the jsp that writes the html that contains the "<img>" tag that gets it, use the "height" and/or the "width" to scale the suppied image to presentation size you want.
2) find some image manipulation code that will convert the image into the size you want
Option 1 will work well if the problem you have is merely refining the image size for presentation. Option 2 is your only coice if it's the image files size itself you really want to change, not just it's appearance on a page. -
How to get the size of the cuurrent illustration
Sorry, I made a mistake before this one. The questios is this: can anybody tell me how can I get the size of the current illustration, (as oposed to the page size) in points. Something like 120 points wide and 87 points High?. What function do I need to call?
From AI Function reference (included with CS2 SDK):
AIDocumentSetup setup;
error = sDocument->GetDocumentSetup(&setup);
if (error) goto processError;
writeDocumentSetup( &setup );
The AIDocumentSetup record returns the following information:
typedef struct {
AIReal width, height;
AIBoolean showPlacedImages;
short pageView;
AIReal outputResolution;
AIBoolean splitLongPaths;
AIBoolean useDefaultScreen;
AIBoolean compatibleGradients;

How to get the size of the file
Hi All,
I want to get the size of the file in terms of bytes. I used the following code it returns the value in long how can get it in bytes
import java.io.File;
public class ServerBackupCheck {
public static void main(String args[]){
File f = new File("C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Tomcat 5.5");
System.out.println(f.isDirectory());
System.out.println(f.getTotalSpace());
output:
true
20964163584
regards,
Maheshwaran Devarajif it is a folder you can use this recursive algorithm
public static long recurse(File f) throws IOException
long bytes = 0;
File files[] = f.listFiles();
for(int i =0 ;i<files.length;i++)
File file = files ;
if(file.isFile())
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(file);
byte[] by = new byte[fis.available()];
fis.read(by);
bytes = bytes + by.length;
if(file.isDirectory())
bytes = bytes + recurse(file);
return bytes;
System.out.println(recurse(f)); gives you the total bytes....

Hi
I want to know the size of the file from Java. ie If i have 10 lines in that file each of 15 characters
then 10 *2*10=200Bytes is the size. How will i get this?
More over, if i am reading the 4 the line, how will get the info that I have read 3 lines =3*2*10= 60 bytes so far?
Regards
SriramThis is from the JavaDocs on java.io.File
length
public long length()
Returns the length of the file denoted by this abstract pathname. The return value is unspecified if this pathname denotes a directory.
Returns:
The length, in bytes, of the file denoted by this abstract pathname, or 0L if the file does not exist
Any of the read methods (except readLine()) on the many stream objects return the number of bytes read, simply accumulate these returns to know how many bytes have been read.

How to control the size of SVG images in epub files?
There is unfortunately no support for SVG files in InDesign.
Most of my images in jpg convertes nicely, but the small ones do not.
Therefore I want to use SVG files which I have created in Illustrator.
But how do I set the size in the epub file? Right now, whatever I do, they come out too big and I don't know how to control the size.
Is there a program, like Sigil or other, that can place the image for me - I'm no html wizard you see....In any Java program, it is good practice to make sure your live objects leave some room in the heap for "scratch space." Without this, you will spend too much time in GC, and, in the worst cases, run out of memory. In the general case, you can see how much live data your application requires by looking at the heap used after a full GC's. For Coherence, you should ensure that live data, as you say, is under 70% of the maximum heap size.
Coherence provides you tools to help enforce this policy. [http://coherence.oracle.com/display/COH35UG/local-scheme] describes how to size limit your cache. By implementing an eviction policy, you can control what happens when a size limit is exceeded. -
