How to give single multiple values

Hi,
I am having one scenario like ,in one report if i had given multiple single values in select option parameter but it is taken only first value please can you suggest on this issue.
Thanks,
Harinath

just click on the arrow (extension) button if you can see multiple value then it is taking correctly. other wise let us know how are you assigning the multiple single value?
s_op-low = '1000'.
s_op-sign = 'I'.
s_op-option = 'EQ'.
append s_op.
s_op-low = '2000'.
s_op-sign = 'I'.
s_op-option = 'EQ'.
append s_op.
s_op-low = '3000'.
s_op-sign = 'I'.
s_op-option = 'EQ'.
append s_op.
like that or from selection screen?

• How can I return multiple values with PL/SQL Web Services

Hi,
I'm new to developping Web Services. I'm doing some tests with JDeveloper and OC4J on my local machine with a Web Services based on a PL/SQL function within a package. Right now that function only returns one value. So the xml response only has one output.
I'd like to know how can I return multiple values with my PL/SQL Web Service. For example, if I want to return an employee's name and id? And that the xml contains two output : <employee>, <empid>?
Reginald
ps : I have searched the forum and I couldn't find an answer to this question, if that has been discussed AND answered before, can you please post the link? Thanks

Alright, I actually found my answer. Since this was asked I think as a followup somewhere else I'll give my answer.
It is very simple, all you have to do is create an Object Type and then Return that object type. After that, JDeveloper will take care of everything and you will have an xml response with multiple values. Here
{color:#ff0000}
create or replace TYPE person AS OBJECT
( id_interv number,
first_name VARCHAR2(50),
last_name VARCHAR2(50),
date_birth date
);{color}
Then your function used in your Web Service should look something like this :
{color:#ff0000}
function info_emp (p_empno IN VARCHAR2) RETURN person AS
l_emp person := person(-1,'','','');
BEGIN
SELECT first_name
,last_name
,emp_no
INTO l_emp.first_name
,l_emp.last_name
,l_emp.emp_no
FROM emp
WHERE upper(emp_no) = upper (emp_no);
{color}
{color:#ff0000}
RETURN l_emp;
EXCEPTION WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
l_emp := person (-1,'n/a','n/a','n/a');
RETURN l_emp ;
END info_emp;{color}
{color:#ff0000}{color:#000000}After that, this is what the xml response looks like :{color}{color}
<first_name xsi:type="xsd:string">John</first_name>
<last_name xsi:type="xsd:string">Doe</last_name>
<emp_no xsi:type="xsd:string">0250193</emp_no>

• How can i pass multiple values by a single variable to EXECUTE IMMEDIATE

Hi All,
I want to pass multiple values for where condition for execute immediate. Something Like this:-
bold
Declare
v_cond varchar(1000);
Begin
v_cond := '''INR','USD'''; --(OPTION 1)
v_cond := 'INR,USD'; --(OPTION 2)
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'Delete from table where colm in (:v_cond)' using v_cond;
END;
bold
I am using this into a procedure
Now option 1 gives an error ie a syntax error (; expected or something like that)(I am sorry, i can't tell the exact error here as i am not in the office right now)
and option 2 makes the procedure execute but obviously doesn't delete the records, as it takes the whole as one.

• Passing single/multiple values to stored proc parameter from crystal report

I tried below solution posted on this forum to pass either a single value or multi-value to a sql server stored procedure parameter (varchar datatype) from crystal report XI R2.
In my crystal report , I am displaying all the available parameter values to the user and the user will select either a single value or multi value.
This worked when I select single value and when I say show sql query in my subreport I see the following:
{CALL "XYZ"."dbo"."storedprocedurename";1('Product  1')}
But this did not worked when I selected multiple values and when I say show sql query in my subreport I see the following:
{CALL "XYZ"."dbo"."storedprocedurename";1('Product 1,Product 2')}
I think it might work if it is as below:*
For multiple values:
{CALL "xyz"."dbo"."storedprocedurename";1('Product 1', 'Product 2')}
Please advise.
Solution Posted on this forum is as follows:
Hi,
As you must be aware of that a crystal report created of a stored procedure will allow only a single value for inserting a multiple value as a parameter in your report and pass those values to your stored procedure please follow the below work around which will be helpful for you.
Symptom
In Crystal Reports, you want to pass a multi-value parameter to a stored procedure. The problem with doing so is that Crystal Reports considers the multi-value parameter to be an array.
How can you pass a multi-value parameter to a stored procedure?
Resolution
Here are the steps to pass a multi-value parameter to a stored procedure:
1. Create a Crystal report, and add a multi-value parameter.
2. Since the multi-value parameter is treated as an array, create a formula that uses the JOIN function. Create a formula as below:
//Formula: @JoinFormula
Join ({?Multi-value parameter array},";")
====================
NOTE:
In the formula above, a semi-colon (";") is the delimiter.
====================
3. Within the main report, create a subreport based on the stored procedure, and include the parameter to be populated with the multi-value list.
4. Link the Join formula in the main report to the stored procedure parameter in the subreport.
Doing so passes a multi-value parameter to the stored procedure.
Regards,
Vinay

Hi Vinay,
First you need to make sure the stored procedure accepts multiple values in the fashion 'a','b','c'.
Then, create this formula in the Main Report:
numbervar i;
stringvar s;
for i:= 1 to ubound({?Parameter}) do
s := s + "'" + {?Parameter} + "'" + ",";
left(s,len(s)-1);
Link this formula to the sub-report's parameter.
Hope this helps!

• How to search for multiple values with Bex Prompts

Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to search for multiple values at the same time with Bex Prompts instead of searching one value at a time (please see the screen shot below). I searched the forum couldn't find any relevant answers. please let me know how to achieve?
Thanks,
Charvi.

Hi Charvi,
You can use wild card search to ensure you get multiple similar values listed as search output.use * for multiple characters and ? for single character.
For Example, Ravi * would result you all employees with first name as Ravi
You can use various search formats such as * Ravi * and * Ravi and Ra?? etc.
Thanks

• How to pass a multiple value parameter to SQL Command?

Hi,
I created a SQL Command with parameter. But, I need the parameter to be set as multiple value. After creating the SQL Command and it's parameter under the Database Expert, I went to Field Explorer ---> Parameter Fields and found the parameter that I had created for the SQL Command. But when I wanted to edit the parameter to make it a multiple value parameter, the multiple value option was fix grayed as single parameter and I couldn't change it to multiple parameter. Is there any way that I can set a parameter that is attached to SQL Command as multiple value rather than single value? Thanks.

• HOW TO GIVE SINGLE SPACE IN SMARTFORMS

Hi All,
I create one smartform. In this i write a letter.
in this letter i need one single space in between following
line.
Sub: Balance Confirmation as on &EN_DT&
if i give single sapce between ON and &en_dt& then save and
activate then it removes the single space. But if give ,, in between ON and &EN_DT& then it gives double space .
if i delete and write that line again then it gives same o/p.
Please help me how to solve this problem.
Thanks
Dinesh

Hi Dinesh,
,, is used to give a TAB spacing.
So you have to define the tab spacing that you want.
For example,in your case you need single spacing.So you define single spacing for your tab.
This can be done in smart styles.
Follow these steps:
1) Go to SMARTSTYLES tcode.
2)Create a new smart stles or use the existing one if you have created.
3)Now go to paragraph formats.
4) If you have created one for yourr text edit that,or else press F5 to create a new paragraph format.
5)Now in the paragaraph formats window you will find a tab by name tabs.
6)Give the position as 1 and the unit and allignment of your choice.
7)If you are using more than one tab then you need to give thee position for all the tabs.
9)Now activate the smart styles
10) Go to the text elements where you have written your text and give the text as follows.This will now give single space instead of two spaces as it was previously.
Sub: Balance Confirmation as on ,, &EN_DT&
REvert for any other querries.
Reward points if helpfull

• How to give a default value in an inputText on a Form (Jdev 11G Preview2)

First Test :
In the .jspx I have a Form with an inputText :
-id = inputText1
-value=#{bindings.ppartId.inputValue}
In the page Def (in the <methodAction ..for the submit button) I modified the NDValue in order to have
<NamedData NDName="ppartId" NDType="java.lang.Integer"
NDValue="${ParticipantInfo.participantId}"/>
--> After clicking on the submit button I got a null value for the ppartId (in my model method) [In my ManagedBean ParticipantInfo, participantId is OK]
Second Test
In the .jspx I have a Form with an inputText :
-id = inputText1
-value=#{bindings.ppartId.inputValue}
I replace the value
-id = inputText1
-value=#{ParticipantInfo.participantId}
--> I saw the correct value when running the form but After clicking on the submit button I got a null value for the ppartId (in my model method)
So my problem is : I just want to give a default value on an inputText on a form with a Managedbean. How to do that ?
Could I modify the code of the action ofthe submit button to do that but how ?
public String saisierapide_action() {
BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("SaisieRapide");
Object result = operationBinding.execute();
if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
return null;
return null;
}

Hi,
if your attribute binding is bound to a variable, then you can achieve this by setting the DefaultValue attribute for the variable to the desired value. E.g.
<variable Name="ppartIdVariable" Type="java.lang.String"
DefaultValue="${ParticipantInfo.participantId}"/>
<attributeValues id="ppartId" IterBinding="variables">
<AttrNames>

</AttrNames>
</attributeValues>HTH,

• How to get peoplepicker multiple value in text box?

Hi All,
How to get multiple selection people-picker value into text box while using InfoPath?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to get peoplepicker multiple value in text box.
You can set the default value of the text box to:
eval(eval(Person, 'concat(pc:DisplayName, "; ")'), "..")
Or change XPath (advanced) to
xdMath:Eval(xdMath:Eval(../my:group/pc:Person, 'concat(pc:DisplayName, "; ")'), "..")

• How to pass checkbox multiple value in URL as parameter?

Hello,
I have a checkbox in two page. The checkbox is based on a LOV and user can check more than one value at a time. The return value of the checkbox is like "ID1:ID2".
I want to call another page with the same checkbox item and want to pass the checked value via the URL.
This cause problem because checked value are separated with : that not work in URL.
So, how can I pass checkbox multiple value in parameter via an URL?
Thanks
Jean

Jean,
Why pass it in a URL instead of just using what's in session state? On your second page, set the Source Type of the check box item to ITEM and enter the name of the check box item on the first page.

• How to map single input value to Two columns of Database table using format file of Bulk Copy Process

Hi All,
Am using OPENROWSET to load the file data into table, here the problem is i need to map same input value to two different columns of table, As format file doesn't allow the duplicate numbers am unable to insert same value to two columns, please help me to
find a solution for this.
i can use only OPENROWSET because i need to insert some default values also which come based on file. only the problem is how to map same input value to two different columns of table. please give me the suggestions.
Thanks,
Sudhakar

From what you say:
INSERT tbl(col1, col2)
SELECT col1, col1
FROM   OPENROWSET(....)
But I guess it is more difficult. You need to give more details. What sort of data source do you have? What does your query look like? The target table?
Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, [email protected]
Hi Erland,
Thanks for your response
my source file is text file with | symbol separate for ex:
1002|eTab |V101|eTablet|V100|Logic|LT-7|Laptops|SCM
Database table have columns like
column1,column2,column3...etc, now i need to insert same value from input file into two columns for ex:
the eTab value from text file has to be insert into column2 and column3 of
table
we cannot change format file like below one
for the above situation how can we insert eTab into column2 and column3

• How can IWD_VALUE_HELP return multiple values, instead of one

Hello expert,
I have requirement to use F4 help to return multiple values to the using WD component. Basically in my main WD component, I have a View where I have a list box, this list box has a F4 assigned to it, clicking on the F4 brings up hte F4 help, in the F4 help, user can select multiple values which should be returned to my main component / view to be displayed in the list box.
I'd implement IWD_VALUE_HELP to create my own F4 help component. However I have difficulty to return multiple values. As I understand there is only way to return data from F4 help to the calling Main WD component / view:
Item_LISTENER->F4_CONTEXT_ELEMENT->set_attribute( name = 'MYATTRName' value = myvalue).
Do you guys know how to archive what is required here?
Thanks
Jayson

Hello Jayson,
the element reference that is passed into the IWD_VALUE_HELP implementing component is the element of the calling application's context.
Therefore you can use methods like
IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT->GET_NODE
(to get the parent node of the element) and
IF_WD_CONTEXT_ELEMENT->GET_CHILD_NODE
to get access to other parts of the context.
say for example your value help should populate a pop-in table with multiple entries.
your application allows you to choose a type of ice-cream cone and then to choose the flavour of ice-cream (multi selection)has a structure like:
Context_root
--> List_of_ice_creams (0..n)
>Ice_cream_flavours(1..n)
In the element of list_of_ice_creams you have an attribute "flavour" which links to your value help.
Choosing this value-help should allow you to select multiple flavours, return these and populate them into the sub-node Ice_cream_flavours.
Within your custom value help you can get a reference to the node Ice_cream_flavours by calling the method
lo_flavour_node = IItem_LISTENER->F4_CONTEXT_ELEMENT->GET_CHILD_NODE("ICE_CREAM_FLAVOURS"). You could then populate this in you value help component.
As I mentioned - this isn't great as it means the value help cannot really be used elsewhere as it has a dependency on the structure of the calling context. But that may not be an issue for you.
Hope that helps,
Chris

• How do you set multiple values in "Internal-Properties" in XSLT

Hi All,

Hi Anuj,
Thanks for taking time to consider this. I think I did not explain my problem clearly. I'm not trying to assign more than one value to any one property. My issue is that I cannot figure out the proper syntax within the XSLT to assign a value to more than one property at the Interchange level. For instance, do you have an example of how I would assign one value to the InterchangeSenderID and another value to the InterchangeReceiverID? Constant values (rather than dynamic ones) would be fine for an example. Thanks again for your time.
thanks,
