How to handle raw data obtained from CCD using labview?

Hi,
The format in which CCD software saves its data is “16 bits TIFF” or “16 bits FIT format” (FIT format is just the raw data type). I am trying to save this data using labview. It’s not getting saved properly (I get 1 KB file in place of expected 1000KB +). I am using activex that came with my CCD. I am attaching the snap-shot of my screen and I have indicated the places by arrows where I am saving the image. What I believe is going on wrong is that I have not provided “data type” in “variant to data” function (as I do not know what to provide).
Please let me know your suggestion.
Thanks,
DK

Forget my previous reply.
I don't see on the diagram where you select the image type format.
I'm not sure you need the variant to data function. What happens when you wire directly the output of your image node to the image indicator ? Is your image displayed correctly ? I guess it is.
Once you have your image displayed properly, you should use the specific image save functions (in Vision > Vision utilities > files), and you don't need to go though the conversion to array step. JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PNG formats are available.

  • Handling RAW data types (from SAP) in Adobe forms - Illegal Arg Exception

    Hi,
I have a scenario where I have to get data of type RAW in SAP to Adobe Forms using web dynpro java. What is the corresponding type in Web Dynpro / Adobe Forms.
I am using Adaptive RFC and when I get the model from SAP function module, the RAW type is created as Binary type in the data dictionary of Web Dynpro.
When I map the model context to controller context, the type is taken as byte[].
I tried to set the attribute for this field and I got the Illegal Argument Exception error.
I am using NWDS 7.0.9 and NW04s SP12. Pl help. I am working on this since 10 days but could get no solution.
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:
    <b>java.lang.IllegalArgumentException</b>
    at com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdTypeBinary.format(DdTypeBinary.java:60)
    at com.sap.dictionary.runtime.DdTypeBinary.toString(DdTypeBinary.java:64)
    at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.data.DataContainer.doFormat(DataContainer.java:1405)
    at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.data.DataContainer.getAndFormat(DataContainer.java:1098)
    at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientimpl.xdp.renderer.data.XfdRenderer.renderAttributes(XfdRenderer.java:370)
    ... 41 more

Issue with the RAW data types is resolved now. I have changed the data type of the field into String in the dictionary (web dynpro).. I have changed the corresponding getters and setter functions from byte[] to string. And everything working fine now. I got the Illegal Argument exception initially because I was trying to display the binary data type fields on the adobe form or view which I am not supposed to do.
Also it is better to create separate view attributes in the context to get the values rather than mapping the model attributes directly in the form or view.
    Thank you one and all.

  • How to store the data read from excel using java code in Ms access database

Hi. I wrote a code to read the data from excel. May i know how can i save it to Ms access database using java. Also i have many excels. So i should not connect the database using DSN. So is there any other way to achieve this?

Both articles explains how to use the jdbc-odbc bridge. I think I've seen a pure jdbc driver for access but it wasn't from Microsoft and it wasn't free.

  • Data acqusition from hp8510C using labview

    Hi ,
I am using labview 7.0 to control hp 8510C network analyser through GPIB using drivers of hp 8510C. In the getting started VI the two options of reconfiguring and reseting seem to work fine , but the measure only option is not working in the sense that it is executing the mesurement in the instrument but no data is appearing in the computer panels for real and imaginery data. The hp 8510C panel shows 'requested data currently not available' at the same time . Can you tell me how to fix this problem.
    Kaushik

    Hi Kaushik
I have not got the HP8510C NA or the 8510C driver!
However have net address for the programming manual for 8510C:
    http://www.home.agilent.com/cgi-bin/pub/agilent/search/r2v2/generalSearchResults.jsp?QueryValid=true
If you have the software toolkit disk then in the basic folder
example 6 will provide the essential GPIB commands to achieve you goal.
Remember that the 8510C is a pre IEEE 488.2  instrument so not all visa commands are compatible.
    Hope that helps

  • How can I convert from Modbus raw data to engineering units using a formula?

Within Lookout, I have several Modbus numerical input types that do not have a linear corespondence to the Engineering values they represent.  How can I display these values accurately using a formula to convert from the raw data to an engineering value?

I don't quite understand your reply.  I'm using Lookout 6.0.2, logged in as Administrator, in Edit Mode.  The Modbus object is named RTU06_SAV.  The Active member is 30002 with an alias of SAVfmSMT_RSL.
Following your instructions, I opened Object Explorer and right-clicked on RTU06_SAV.
This opened a menu containing:  Refresh, Cut, Copy, Rename, Delete, Edit connections..., Edit Data Member Configuration, Configure Network Security and Properties.
I assumed that I should select Edit Data Member Configuration, but maybe I'm wrong.
Within Data Member Configuration I can set up Linear Scaling between Raw data and Engineering data.  I know how to do that, but what I need to know is how to convert Raw data to Engineering data using a formula representing a non-linear transformation (such as a converion to a logarithmic value or perhaps a formula derived by fitting the formula to a curve on a calibration chart).
Once I have this my Engineering data can be represented on a control panel as both a numeric value AND as a correctly reading Gauge.  It can also be properly represented on a HyperTrend graph.
    What do you suggest?

  • How to find the data loaded from r/3 to bw

    hi
how to find the data loaded from r/3 to bw is correct . i am not able to find which feild in the query is connected to which feild in the r/3 . where i am geting the data from r/3 . is there any process to find which feild  and table the data is comming from . plz help
thanks in advance to u all

Hi Veda ... the mapping between R/3 fields and BW InfoObjects should take place in Transfer Rules. Other transformation could take place in Update Rule.
So you could proceed this way: look at InfoProvider Data Model and see if the Query does perform any calculation (even with Virtual keyfigures / chars). Than go back to Update Rules and search for other calculation / transformation. At least there are Tranfer Rule and eventually DataSource / Extraction Enhancements.
As you can easily get there are many points where you have to look for ... it's a quite complex work but very usefull.
Once you will have identified all mappings / transfromation see if BW data matchs R/3 (considering calculations ...)
    Good job

  • How is the Raw data used in iPhoto. I currently shoot both jpeg and raw and import them both into iPhoto.

How is the Raw data used in iPhoto? I currently shoot both jpeg and raw and import them both into iPhoto. What do I gain by collecting Raw data?
    Thanks

You get more parameters for making adjustments to the image. This is not really an iPhoto question but more a general photography one. In rather simple terms here's how a digital camera works:
You expose an image. A lot of data is gathered in by the sensor. But it's just a bug lump of data and not very useful in that form.
In cameras that shoot jpeg that mass of data is interpreted/processed into an actual image, and the image is stored in a jpeg file. (that's a process broadly analogous to developing a film). The decisions that go into making that interpretation are all made by an engineer somewhere, back when the camera was developed.
If you shoot Raw, then what you do is take that mass of data, and rather than working to the decisions made by that engineer, you develop the shot - you run the digital darkroom.
Why would you do this? Take on all this extra work? Well one of three reasons: a: you think you can do a better job than that engineer. b: you just prefer the result you get when you develop yourself or c: you're a hopeless shooter and raw means you have more options to fix the mistakes you made in the camera. (That's why I do it.)
Here endeth the two dollar tour. So, basically, if you're happy with what your camera produces in Jpeg then there's really no need to shoot Raw.
There's no need at all to shoot Raw+Jpeg as iPhoto creates a jpeg preview when you import, so you're just wasting space.
