How to Hide Fields and shrink group in a crystal report

I am workling on a report that is looking for the top 15 accounts by state based on assets. I did that by creating a running total field and supressing anything where that running total field is greater than 15. However, my problem is that if the state has more than 15 I have blank space between that state and the next one. Any way to clear that blank space??

How you suppressed the particular section Which containing the Objects.
Suppose you are displaying Accounts in Details section , Suppress the section itself with your condiotion.
Selection Expert>Common Tab> Suppress-->x-2
{#RTotal0}>15

Now that you mention it ... the rendered flag will stop the field from being rendered. So it's not even in the page. Stupid me.
Have a look at formValue. These are rendered, but invisible fields in a form. That should do it (hopefully).
In prepareForDML() you could simply call the setter of your date attribute that stores the date of the last update. There you pass the current date, or you could fetch the sysdate from the database and pass that. If you go that way, then the EntityImpl could make these adjustments automatically when inserting or updating and you wouldn't even need these fields/bindings in your UIX page.
Just check what the operation is, and if it's an update or insert then call the setters of the attributes you want to update. Then call super.prepareForDML(). Something like that.
It all would happen in the middle-tier, client not involved.
So formValue should work, and the prepareForDML() stuff should also work. Don't know which way you want to go.

How do I copy and print groups(with contact information) from address book? I want to copy a group of contacts in list form that ideally I can paste into Excel.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are coming from pre-Mountain Lion, then Address Book has changed to Contacts.
Open Contacts.
Select an Account in the group list, if you want the contact in a specific group. If Groups aren't showing, you can display them from the View menu.
Click the Add card button ( + ).
Enter the information for the contact.
If you need multiple entries for a particular field type, a new blank entry will show up below the one you are adding.
If you need other fields, use the Card menu to Add a new field type.
If you want to change the default fields available when you create a new card, choose Edit Template…
If you have sent emails to someone and you want to get that address to add to a Contact, use the Previous Recipients command in the View menu in Mail.
If you need to add a new Group, hover the cursor over the account name, and a + button will appear. Click it.

How to hide Group Tree in Crystal Report Server.

Hi all visitors
i have created one crystal report and my report use group to summary the amount of each day.
after i use group to summary, i used text box cover the group. so my group can't click anything.
After that i upload my report to crystal report server, when i viewed my report and when i click on Group Tree, it will show the list of group (group date in crystal report) and it also can click. I don't want to show the Group Tree in Crystal Report Server.
Anybody know how to hide group tree in crystal report server?

Are you talking custom application, or infoview? If it is custom app, you would have to look at the setToolPanelViewType method. if its infoview, no direct way to change this that i know of.

For example
select-options:
s_carrid for spfli-carrid modif id gr1,
s_connid for spfli-connid modif id gr1,
s_cityto for spfli-cityto modif id gr2.
I am going to hide last fied..To do this
at selction-screen output.
if s_carrid is initial or s_connid is initial.
loop at screen.
if screen-group1 CS 'GR2'.
screen-active = 0.
modify screen.
endif.
endloop.
endif.
whenever u click on any one of the field i.e. carrid or connid the third field will displayed.Otherwies the last field cityto is not visible initially

AFAIK the system menu can´t be hidden - because people won´t be able to log off (but by using the X in the right upper corner). Additionally it contains additional transactions (own data etc.) that users should be able to change.

if you want to do that, either create a Char Hierarchy in KES3 for the Char Profit Center

You don't even need to create a group. Just sort the records on the fields that define "duplicate". Then you can just use
if {field} = PreviousValue({field}) then crYellow else crNoColor
in the format's Background Color formula. This will cause the background to be yellow on duplicates. (If you need to check more than one field in order to determine duplicates, just insert
and {field2} = PreviousValue({field2}
and so on for each field that needs to be checked.

Hi Vivek,
To you may create on demand sub report.
In main report only the link will be shown when you click on the link the sub report will be opened in a new tab.
It can be placed in a Group header and to show the data for that particular group only.
Click on the Help menu in the crystal Reports Designer and open the Crystal Reports Help
Go to Index tab and type in subreport
Select Creating On demand you will get lot of information on that.

How to avoid the parameters accepting screen generated by crystal report

I designed one rpt file which will take one parameter and trying to run that file from java servlets. But I am getting one problem. I am passing parameters from jsp and setting those to the crystal report but, instade of generating the report, it is generating one jsp page which is having text feild , after enter the parameter value onece I submit this page then only I am getting required output.

HOW TO HIDE FIELDS IN A CUSTOM TABLE

Hi all,
I've a requirement where there's a maintainence view attached to a custom created table. Whenever I add new entries via View, on saving the record, 2 of its fields only should appear.
For example, if my table looks like this,
SAP ID OBJECT ID FROM DATE TO DATE
Once i add a new record, when i press save, only 2 of fields say, SAP id and Object Id should appear instead of all the fields.
Can someone throw light on this if you're aware? Any input in this regard will be highly valuable to me and appreciated. If someone is unable to intrepret this question, do let me know, I'll detail it again.

Hide parameter / select option in selection screen
We can Hide parameter / select option in selection screen dynamically by manipulating screen object.
SCREEN is like an internal table with a header line. However, you do not have to declare it in your program. Go to debugging mode and then view structure of screen.
You can modify SCREEN in your ABAP program during the PBO event of a screen. Its contents override the static attributes of the screen fields for a single screen call. The only statements that you can use with SCREEN are:
LOOP AT SCREEN.
MODIFY SCREEN.
ENDLOOP.
We can hide parameter by set screen-active to 0.
Here is example of how to hide parameter in selection screen. Write it, and change click on radiobutton to hide parameter.

The SQL Trace part of the Performance Trace tool allows you to see how the OPEN SQL statements that you use in ABAP programs are converted to standard SQL statements (see Embedded SQL) and the parameters with which the embedded SQL statements are passed to the database system.
Overview
While the trace is switched on, the SQL Trace function records all database activity by a particular user or group of users. The R/3 System takes OPEN SQL statements and converts them in to embedded SQL statements that it passes to the database. It is the embedded SQL statements, their parameters, return codes, and the number of entries retrieved, inserted, or deleted that are recorded in the SQL Trace file. The log file also contains the runtime of the statement and the place in the application program from which it was called.
The SQL trace tells you:
The SQL statements executed by your program.
The values that the system uses for particular database access and changes.
How the system converts ABAP Open SQL statements (such as SELECT) into Standard SQL statements.
Where your application executes COMMITs.
Where your application repeats the same database access.
The database accesses and changes that occur in the update part of your application.
Steps :
) Goto ST05
2) Click on Activate Trace button
3) Open your program in another session (Window).
4) Run the program.
5) Come back to ST05, Click on Deactivate trace
6) Click Display trace
7) Select Summrize by SQL statements.(Press SHIFT + F8).
