How do I activate java plugin?

If you're asking about Safari, it's in the Security page of Safari's preferences. If that's not what you mean, please elaborate.

  • How to access the Java plugin certifcate store from a signed applet?

Is there any easy way I can access the certificates in the Java plugin certificate store?
I think I can load the C:\Documents and Settings\<login user>\ Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs into a KeyStore and examine the certificates that way.
But I just wonder if there is more robust way to do this without loading up an external file since an applet is executed within a Java plugin.
    Thank you :)

  • How can I activate Java in Win 7 and Firefox 9?

I need to log into a site that requires Java. I am running Window 7 64bit home Ed and Firefox 9.0.1. Java 64 is installed but does not show up in Firefox. I can find no troubleshooting info anywhere on your site regarding this problem

Firefox 9.0.1 is a 32-bit browser. No scheduled release date for a 64-bit version of Firefox at this time, as far as I know. Read the following from the Java site, especially the last sentence in the section "Summary":

Not related to your question, but...
You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update as necessary:

Curves.wrl is the file which i'm reading from the Cdrive.

  • How to uninstall java plugin without removing JRE completely

how to uninstall java plugin without removing JRE completely.
Hope someonce can help, all the documentation ive seen till now shows how to uninstall the Java plugin by completely removing the JRE.
Also if you install JRE 1.4.1_01 and do not choose to install the browser plugin on the browers prompted ... does it not install the plugin?

    In IE
Tools -> Internet Options -> Settings -> View Objects
Delete the ActiveX control for the Java Plugin
This removes the ActiveX control (plug-in) from the browser but doesn't delete the JRE.

  • Can not login to my banks or official institutions becauce jave will not load. No menu to activate java is displayed?? Why? It works in IE..

Java do not display a menu that will activate Java on Java based logins.
I have uninstalled all Jave exept on Firefox where there is no option to uninstall Java only to "Ask to activate" and "Never activate".
So now I can't pay my bills because i can't login to my bank. I can't login to official sites to submit tax papers etc. etc.
    how can i activate Java??
Do I need to switch to Opera or IE??

is there an icon on the left of the address bar, from where you can enable the plugin? otherwise you can right-click a page, go to ''view page info > permissions'' and enable java there.
if it still doesn't work you also might be using an extension like noscript that may be blocking such content...

  • How to always enable Java 6 with Firefox 18

I implemented Firefox 15 with Java 1.6.0.35-b10 to be used with a particular Vendor's website. The site has no internet except for accessing this vendor's website. Several weeks ago Firefox 15 updated itself to Firefox 18 and blocklisted Java 6. I was able to unblock it, but now each time the users log into the vendor's website, Firefox prompts the user to activate Java 6. My users are nagging me to turn this activate screen off but i cannot figure out how to permanently activate Java 6 on each of these machines. The vendor is not willing to upgrade to Java 7. I have tested Java 7 with the vendor's site and of course it doesn't load. Consequently, I cannot get this machine to roll back to Java 6. Once they activate Java 6 they can use the website. I could switch back to IE8 and use Java 6 with no problem, except that IE8 has a flaw in it. I have read that I cannot install IE9 on Windows XP pro, so I am stuck with Firefox. Windows XP Pro SP3, Firefox 18, and Java 6.

    Hi there,
This article walks you through how to enable Java again -- note that we don't recommend this due to the many security risks (this week new threats were revealed again): [[How to use Java if it's been blocked]]
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,

  • When I try to activate Java plug in it keeps failing when I try to activate it. How can I get the Java plugin to activate on FireFox.Java has been updated.

I tried activating the plugin at osgov.com/webcam.html to see the web cam. I keep getting an error message that the plug in failed when i try to activate it when I am on firefox.

  • How to enable Java plugin?

How do I enable Java within Firefox?
I have gone to about:config and set the extensions.blocklist.enabled to "false", I have deleted blocklist.xml, pluginreg.dat from my profile and I have re-started Firefox and made sure the Java plugin is enabled (I set to Always Activate or Always Ask). I have checked to see that Java itself is allowing it by doing the appropriate things in the Java Control Panel and testing with other browsers.
When I visit a page with Java using Firefox, it still says plugin disabled. Anything else I missed? I'm running Firefox 32.
Please don't give me no garbage about security, safety, blah, blah, blah. I understand the risks, this is for debugging my own web page/application on my local machine which sits behind a firewall. I really wish Firefox would stop treating its users like idiots. Along with the invalid cert error , this might be the last straw to make me ditch Firefox.

I also want to know how to TURN ON Java in Fire Fox.
It's NOT in the Applets or Add-ons or Plugins. I have searched for a way to turn ON Java.
WHY is this is hard to understand?

  • Fedora 13: After upgrading from FF3.6 to FF6.0.2 I no longer have a Java plugin. How do I configure the Java Plugin for FF 6 ? There is no Java Plugin at the site

I am Fedora 13x64 bit. I just installed FF v6.0.2 from the FF download site. I backed up the existing FF 3.6 as firefox_old
I need to have a Java plugin to access company site, how do I configure the Java Plugin ?
At the Plugin area in FF6 there is no Java Plugin available, even after a search.
I have Java 1.6.0 installed in the OS at:
    /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0/jre/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so
I googled how to configure Java Plugin for FF 6 for Fedora 13 and the trick was to create a soft link from /home/<userID>/.mozilla/plugins to the above libnpjp2.so

    </OBJECT>
But it is downloading java plugin 1.3.1_03.
    Can anybody help me
    Thanks & Regards
    Raja

Using object tags is the correct way and only way to download the plugin and let the client decide whether he can download it r not. There is no way to install automatically
I dont think there is a way to install automatically without a user intervention coz, it can open the floodgates for potential hackers.
Can u cite an example about which programs can be installed automatically and why do u want the plugin to be installed automatically?
    ciao

Find the Plugin icon...on Windows, it is in the Control Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel). Double click the icon, and you will see "Enable Java Plug-in" . Just unselect it.
