How to implement a patch in portal

I have been given the task for making ep7.0 with sp 7 compatible with the IE version 7.0 ,for that i have downloaded a patch which will make ep 7 with sp 7 compatible but now the issue is what all steps you want me to do follow so that we can upload teh patch in portal .plz help me with this as iam new to EP.

The simplest way to apply a patch is to do it by JSPM.
U have to copy all pacth files in the JSPM inbox and start JSPM.
Follow ne patch guide u have to start the deployment.
If u face a pblm wid a single file try deploying it with SDM.

Hi Shanthakumar,
The "GoogleSearch.WSDL" is no longer available as google has replaced it with the new AJAX based searching and they have eventually removed it from public use as well from 7th September 2009. So, I would imagine you would not be able to use the earlier WSDL file for google search. You might have to look in using the new "AJAX Search API". If I must use StringTokenizer, How can I do it? You completely misunderstand how StringTokenizer works.
StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(output,"#####");Each character is used as a delimiter. So you have specified the same delimiter 5 times.
As suggested above you would need to rewrite the entire code, to treat the String as a delimiter, intead of each character as a delimiter.

Hi,
Assuming you have deployed your webdynpro, you simply need to create webdynpro iView in portal.
Check this simple help documentation on how to create the iView

Once you have created the iView, create a role. Set the entry point of the role to yes.

In your browser, you maintain your list of desired languages. This is an ordered list with the first language/locale in the list being the primary. This list of languages is passed to the server in as header. The portal server uses this header as the default mechanism to determine the language to serve back to the browser, although this behavior can be changed for your implementation if you wish. The server will look for a matching resource bundle based on the order of preference in your list of accepted languages.
So, if you want to receive fr_FR responses, ensure the fr_FR is listed first in your browsers list of languages and that you have created fr resources in your portal.

I have a form, which will input date from user, and I also have javascript calender.
How to implement a Date Picker (Calendar) as a LOV in Portal Form? Do I need to choose POPUP and LOV for Date?
Instead of typing the Date within a Portal form, a popup Calender that will allow user to Pick a date.

Once you have the JavaScript and have added it to your form, you need to the the following. First off, you need to be able to customize the HTML code for the form (i.e. choose custom for form type when creating the form). Once you do that go into the custom layout to customize your HTML code. Find the field you want to add the date picker to. It will be <#your_field_name.ITEM#>
Paste this code after it:
<a href="javascript:show_calendar('forms[0.elements[16');" onmouseover="window.status='Date Picker';return true;" onmouseout="window.status='';return true;"><img src="the source of your image file" width=34 height=21 border=0></a></TD>
You will have to play around with the forms[0].elements[16]. 16 is what date field is set to. However your will differ, so just play with it.

One piece of advise I can give is to NOT* use the Shopping Cart fuctnionality inherent in WLP (com.beasys.commerce.ebusiness.shoppingcart. The Online Commerce functionality in WebLogic Portal has been deprecated.

How to integrate File Server with Portal??

can any one tell me that how interegate the File Server With Portal Server??
In my portal server under home tab i have sub tab (second level navigation) of File server.Whe i click this tab it throws an syntax error
ie

thease are the steps that i have taken

i have specified the folder of file server that i want to display..
but i get the same syntax error ..
infact i dint get that folder in KM.
But when i specify the folder that is present in KM its Work fine..
Now the Scnerio According to me is that File server is not integrated properly
if it would be integrated properly i would be able to see the folder of File server in KM...
am i correct ??
please Guide me to integrated the File Server Properly??

Hi Vinit,
if you want some Windows File Server integrated into Portal, please do not use a WebDAV Repository, but use the File System Repository instead. Therefore you need to configure the according Repository Manager. Please refer to this documentation:
