How to improve battery life of 4S?

In the last few months my IPhone 4S battery depletes quickly. It used to last at least 2 or 3 days. Now I must charge daily. Even if it has 25% left and I turn it off, it will be depleted when I turn it back on. I try to close apps, but it doesn't seem to matter. Also have iCloud turned off. Help!

  • Any tips on how to improve battery life on new macbook pro?

Any tips on how to improve battery life on new macbook pro?

It all depends on how much you plan to run on battery power. If you don't use it often, set yourself a reminder to let it run unplugged about every couple of weeks to aboout a 40% charge and then plug it up and let it charge back to 100%. If you'r'e a frequent battery user (like me) don't let your MBP discharge to the point where you're running on reserve power - down to about 30 minutes remaining and then charge it back in.
I have over 130 cycles on my computer and I've just had it since March. Even though my battery health was 102.2% when I got my MBP, it's still at 98.8% health and I'm still getting 7+ hours out of my battery. To get the longest use when under battery, keep your activities to low-CPU intensive apps (browser, email client, word processor, etc.) - Internet surfing alone, and not watching a lot of online videos, will give you mor ebang for the buck. You can also check your battery health in 'real time' by using "Battery Health" - free from the App Store and you can make sure that you're running on integrated graphics, which uses less power, by downloading Cody Krieger's exceptional gfxCardStatus.
Keep your screen brightness down to about four ticks and your keyboard backlighting to one tick - should work fine.
    Good battery health to you,
    Clinton

    Welcome To Lenovo Community
We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing,
Fully charge battery, then unplug & restart the system and Enter BIOS setup. (Press F2 key at Lenovo screen.) , Let laptop sit until it shuts off, and note how long it runs.
Or you may also try Battery Gauge Reset
Open the Lenovo energy management, and where you have the options for Optimize for battery health or battery run time, at the bottom it says
    Battery Gauge Reset
    Start.
click it and do the on screen instructions.
Do give this a try and let us know
    Hope This Helps

  • How to preserve battery life ~ used to last all day, now it runs out by lunchtime

How to preserve battery life ~ used to last all day, now it runs out by lunchtime

I would advise updating to iOS 7. It might improve your battery and the bugs are worked out by now.
If not wanting to update because of the new look, here are some tips:
-Turn off bluetooth when not needed.
-Connect to wifi and turn off cellular data when possible.
-When not around wifi, turn wifi off.
-Keep your screen at around 50% brightness.
-Disbale certain apps or features in Settings<Privacy<Location Services if they are not necessary.
-Close out of apps in the multitasking bar.
-Enable airplane mode when you plan on not using your phone for a while.
Hopefully these tips help you. If your battery does eventually get too bad, you can get it changed out by apple. If youve had your device for under a year, you can take it into an Apple store and theyll give you a new phone in return. Have a good night and good luck!

  • How to save battery life on iPod touch 5g?

Give me tips on how to save battery life on iPod touch 5g.It dies out very quickly.

    Turn down the screen brightness
Look into notifications. it defaults to everything being on and you can turn off most if not all of them.
Check your e-mail. If it's on push that means it's reaching out for new mails every so often, turning it to fetch means that it only goes to get mail when you tell it to.
Look at some of your apps. Some of them may be doing things in the background that you don't realize and you can tweak those to not run when you don't need them to run.

  • 3GS Upgraded to OS 3.1.2, How is your battery life now?

I upgraded to 3.1 only to find my battery life halved to around 4-6 hrs depending on use.
I then upgraded to 3.1.2 hoping this would be fixed, but no luck.
I use this for work but it wont even last 1 8hr business day without a charge.... not impressed!
How is your battery life since upgrading to 3.1.2?
Is Apple working on fixing this some time soon, or do I start looking for a new "non-iPhone" phone?

Many of us have no problems with battery life. So I'm not sure there's anything general for Apple to fix -- but your iPhone may need attention. Why not take it to to a Genius Bar?

  • How is your battery life? (on new ZEN on

Well, after the firmware update I thought I'd give it a try and see how long it would last.Last time I did this I got 22 hours, with the first update, the sd card one. This time it ran for 28 hours! With volume 5/25, when I did my last test with 22 hours, I only had it at 5/25 volume. No EQ, no smart?volume, no bass boost etc...And most of my music is 96 kps wma or 28 kps mp3 with a few 92 kps mp3s I've downloaded recently. Then while I'm doing?the test, I'm looking at the Zen page to see how they got battery life(sometimes they say half volume at 28 kps mp3 etc) and I noticed they upped it to 30 hours life instead of 25!Now I don't feel so special. :P?So, I just want to know how much juice you get out of your ZEN?And say if you use eq, volume level, bass boost, kps, etc

Hi guys, you will not keep your player on all day long, so you will not get those?playback durations in normal daily use... i tried all the f/w and now i?use my zen?with the .03.04 f/w and it gives me about 4-5 hours (EQ on, Bass Boost and Smart Volume off and i browse the player much)... yesterday, after an approximately 3 days of daily use (4-5 hrs/day) it got down to the final bar... This is better?than the new f/w?s?for me because when I turn it off with the new f/w s it drains quickly because of the hot standby mode... if you have any solutions for this issue (except leaving it turned on ) i will update my f/w too... coz i can not use my SD card as well as i want to especially while watching video...

  • Improve battery life on 10.8.2

After showing much patience with Mountain Lion I've had enough of waiting for a fix for the poor battery life issue.  Yesterday I decided to take matters into my own hands and investiate the issue myself.  I installed the 250Gb hard drive (Hitachi 5400rpm) that was supplied with my 13" Macbook Pro 7,1 (Mid 2010 - you know, the one with the 10 hour battery life ) and performed a Clean install of Mountain Lion, then patched to 10.8.2.  At this point I installed a smart battery monitor, and took notes on the power drain from the battery sitting at idle.  Notes pasted below, not that these are definative proof of what is causing excessive power draw however and are merely notes of what I have tried so far.  Goal was to get the power draw as low as possible when sitting at idle.
Kill Dashboard: Open Terminal.app, Type in: defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES;killall Dock - Hit Enter.
Install ClicktoPlugin and ClicktoFlash Safari Extensions
Turn Off Hibernation. sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
    Install Glimmerblocker
Set noatime flag - sudo mount -vuwo noatime /
    Disable Java in Safari
    Switch to Chrome
Sign out from iCloud Power consumption drops from 15.4w to 8.91w. All NIC's where disabled
re enable bluetooth and plug in eth0 power consumption rises to 10.11w
Sign in to iCloud - 16.01W. Turn all sync off - 14.63w.
Enable Find My Mac - 14.5W.
    Enable Safari - 14.3W
    Enable Contacts - 14.92W
    Disable iCloud.
Shutdown macbook - remove Super Drive
Startup - all NIC's and external devices disabled.
Idle power consumption with Notes,Activity Monitor and Smart Battery Monitor only 6.7W - Baseline
    eth0 enabled - 7.6W
Bluetooth enabled for trackpad - 9.01W
    External USB Keyboard connected - 9.1 W
    Sign Back into iCloud - 14.62 W
Signed into iCloud but idle (after a few minutes) - 9W
Enable location Services and Find my Mac - 13.37 W
    Consumption at idle now 9W
disable all NIC's, remove USB Keyboard and disable bluetooth - 7.15W
So you can see that I managed to get the draw from battery as low as 6.7W.  iCloud and removing the super drive appear to have made the biggest difference so far, but it is inconsistent.  What other steps do you recommend to try next?

There's already a thread discussing the battery issue here.  Have a read...probably starting backwards since it's quite long.  A completely clean install of Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (not an upgrade, patch or combo udpate) has resolved the issue for many folks.  My MacBook Air was suffering severe battery drain after upgrading to ML 10.8 as well.  Performing a fresh install of 10.8.2 corrected it.
My advice would be to wipe the hard drive and perform a fresh installation.  Everything you need to know can be found here:
How to Clean Install OS X Mountain Lion
It's also advisable to do a manual restore...re-download apps, drag other files in from backups, etc. rather than using a full Time Machine restore or Migration Assistant.  That will ensure that if there was a problem it won't migrate back and you'll have a pristine installation.
Hope that helps and best of luck!

  • How to improve battery backup in iphone 3gs

I bought my iphone 3gs a month back. Its performance is very good. However, the battery back up hardly lasts for a day only or even less. My earlier Nokia E52 used to last for 2 to 3 days. I do not use 3G, wi-fi. Push mail is on of course. Please suggest as how to improve the battery back up. Thank you.

  • How long of battery life can you actually get on your U410/U300?

    Hi --
I got my U410 Ultrabook today and thus far have been extremely happy.  The internet isn't spotty, the touchpad and keyboard work great, and it looks beautiful.  The only concern I have is the battery life.  Lenovo advertises 8 hours but I expected five or six realistcally.
I started mine up right off the bat and it was at around 80%.  I did some hardcore downloading and was using it constantly and it died in maybe 2.5 hours (to be generous).  I'm charging it right now and am hoping to get a better result off a full battery.
What's everyone else's actual batery life experience?  What are you usually averaging from a full battery?  I figure if I turn down the brightness a lot and don't download a lot I can probably max out the performance.
Honestly I'd be happy with five hours on a full charge.

    milwaukeephil wrote:
I was the one who reported 5.5 hours of battery.
On the first day, when the battery was dying pretty quickly, I went into Resource Monitor (quickest way to get there is to start Task Manager, go to the Performance tab, and click Resource Monitor at the bottom of that window.)
You can sort that list by the CPU column.
Anyway, I saw Quick Update eating up a large amount of CPU time.... like 25% or more. Quick Update is bloatware, designed to update email and social media in the background. Do people still even use local email clients??? ;-)
After uninstalling Lenovo Quick Update my CPU usage dropped dramatically and battery life went up 2x.
Thanks, battery life has definitely improved after a week now and with brightness settings adjusted and uninstalling Quick Update it's even better.

  • How to save battery life (ipad mini)

When I'm away from home and I don't have my charger. What are some ways that will save my battery life? I know the basics like screen brightness and double tapping the home button to delete history. Are there more ways I can save lots of battery life?

See some of the links below.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night.
