How-to in Message Mapping?

Hi,
XI is getting data from SAP in IDOC's and sending this data to Database.
Now i want to capture(in XI) how many segments(records) XI has sent to database and map it to a field in database.And i want to send XI creation date&time to DB.
We not using BPM. Have to do it in message-mapping.
Any suggestion/help would be helpful
Thank you
Navin
I think I have to write user-defined function (just like we write to get Message-ID), if anybody can tell me how to write user-defined function for the above requirement it would be great.

Hi,
you can do it with abap mapping for example
add an abap mapping as a second mapping in your interface mapping and inside this abap mapping
check how many records does the message contain
and put it in a normal table (from abap mapping)
then the next message will just add the number
and so on...
later on you can get the number from the table using the abap mapping again

  • How to "get" message mapping from XI scenario

    Hi guys!
    Is there a way, how to export message mapping description in some way from PI? In XI 3.0 it was possible, but what about PI 7.0? Hope you understand me:)
    We need it to save this mm description as documentation.
    Thanx a lot!
    Olian

    Hey Oilan,
    with the message mapping open, hold ctrl + shift and right-click in the data-flow editor (the part of the screen where the function boxes and links go).
    a different menu will pop-up. just follow "export tools, export" or something like that. It is pretty straightforward.
    It will save the mapping in a .mte (or something like that) extension file. It is nothing but an XML. Good thing is that you can also import this .mte file in another message mapping (of course, with same source and target messages, or it won't be able to reference the links).

  • How to monitor message mapping in BPE

    Hello all,
    I use an integration process to do several mapping after each other.
    When I try to check the result of the first mapping in the BPE Log, I get the message "No message available for slection".
    I can open the input message from the Container without any problem. But not the output message.
    For both (Input and Output Message) it shows that there is one message.
    Do I have to increase the trace level of the BPE? How? (Trace level in SXMB_ADM is 3)
    We use 2004s SP12 (new workflow log).
    Any help appreciated.
    Jürgen

    Hi Prabhu,
    Thank you for the reply. I know this document, but it doesn't help.
    As I described, I know how to check a message mapping in BPE.
    But when I try to open the MESSAGE_OUT, as described on page 9
    I get an error message "No message available for this selection".
    Although it shows that there is one message in the table (MESSAGE_OUT <1 Entry>)
    Any other idea?

  • How to test message mapping in XMLSPY if two receive message types exist?

    Hi gurus,
    In our message mapping, we have one send message and two receive messages, the testing is ok in message mapping test tool in ESR. While in XMLSPY, it gave the error because of the reason as follows:
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
       <ns0:Message1>
    Even after we added those statments, the error was still there.
    How can I resove this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    In the source XML message you may find some extra tags being included.
    Just remove those extra tags, then it will work fine.
    For example:
    If your source XML message is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
    <ns0:Message1>
    <ns1:MT_FileToFile_MultiMap_Src xmlns:ns1="http://FileToFile/MultiMap">
    <Input>
    <Name>ab</Name>
    <EmpId>123</EmpId>
    </Input>
    </ns1:MT_FileToFile_MultiMap_Src>
    </ns0:Message1>
    </ns0:Messages>
    remove the extra tags and then it will look like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_FileToFile_MultiMap_Src xmlns:ns0="http://FileToFile/MultiMap">
    <Input>
    <Name>ab</Name>
    <EmpId>123</EmpId>
    </Input>
    </ns0:MT_FileToFile_MultiMap_Src>
    i hope this will help you,

  • How to do message mapping in IDoc or RFC to file transfer ?

    Hello guys. I have a doubt. I know how to do an IDoc to file or RFC to file scenario. But how to do mapping in an Idoc to file or RFC to file scenario ? As I understand mapping is done in the sender. But IDoc or RFhas no interface as its used for SAP. So where do we need to perform mapping ?

    Hi,
    You dont need the Data type and message type for IDOC's, RFC's and for external definitions. so u just create one DT,MT for your File structure and you need 2 message interfaces, one for file and one for the Idoc/RFC. You can use them in your mapping program.

    Kumar.

  • Hierarchical structure message mapping in PI

    Hello All,
    I have a source and target structure in graphical message mapping
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Material_MT>
       <row>    0..unbounded
          <MATERIAL_ID>1234</MATERIAL_ID>
          <DEL_FLAG>
         </row>
      <row>    0..unbounded
          <MATERIAL_ID>1234</MATERIAL_ID>
          <DEL_FLAG>Y</DEL_FLAG>
         </row>
      <row>
          <MATERIAL_ID>4567</MATERIAL_ID>
          <DEL_FLAG>N</DEL_FLAG>
         </row>
    <row>
          <MATERIAL_ID>1234</MATERIAL_ID>
          <DEL_FLAG>N</DEL_FLAG>
         </row>
    </Material_MT
    Materials can repeat in the source structure but their flags could be different
    Target structure
    <Mat>  1..1
    <Mat_update> 0..unbounded
       <Matid>
               <Matreg>
                     <Matcomplete/>
                     <tuple>
                          <id/>
                      </tuple>
               </Matreg>
         </Matid>
         <recordind>
                <id>
          </recordind>
    </Mat_update>
    Now, the requirement is
    1) For each <MATERIAL_ID>  in the source, map its corresponding flag <DEL_FLAG> value <Matcomplete/ field in the target ,
    2) For each  <MATERIAL_ID> in the source, take its corresponding value and make a soap  lookup call in mdm to get tuple ids (mutiple value per material possible) and map each to <id> (under <tuple>)
    3) For each <MATERIAL_ID> in the source, take its corresponding value and make a soap lookup call in mdm to get <recordind> (single value per material) and map to <id> under <recordind>
    Now, I have done soap lookup for 2)  and getting multiple tupleIDs for a single material
    For 3) also, I am doing a lookup and getting a single ID back
    Both 2)   and 3) are achieved using  udf soap lookup  - 2) will return a resultlist and 3 a single string value
    My main question is how to do message mapping for achieving step1, 2 and 3. Pls help...its needed badly
    Thanks
    mike

    Hi Mike,
    Below is the logic as per my understanding.
    1- Direct mapping from DEL_FLAG> value <Matcomplete/ field in the target
    2- After lookup Map multiple Tuple Id's to Tuble node.
    3-After lookup Map  recordind to Id .
    If you want it in detail let me know the sample output structure with values.

  • Interface Mapping VS Message Mapping

    What is the meaning of Interface mapping and Message mapping in real business?
    I think it is something like the difference between the class and object. object is an instance of class.
    While talking about the mapping, there are the source interface and target interface. Can two source intefaces map to only one interface, and what about the vs verse? And how about the message mapping?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi -
    First, an Interface Mapping is not only linked with "Message Mappings" (which is the XI term for a mapping created with the XI graphical tool), but any other XI supported mapping type (e.g. XSLT, Java, or ABAP).  So basically, an Interface Mapping is used to link a source interface to a target interface via a mapping (of any of the supported types).  At runtime, you can't have an interface mapping without a mapping and a mapping without an interface mapping - they need each other.
    <i>>>>Can two source intefaces map to only one interface, and what about the vs verse? And how about the message mapping?</i>
    Yes, the ratio of source to target interfaces are n:m.  In those multiple cases, Multi-Mappings are typically involved as mentioned in the previous post.
    Also, remember that in one interface mapping, you are not limited to one mapping.  More than one mapping (of any type) can execute in the sequence you have set up in the Interface Mapping.  However, watch out for performance in these back-to-back(to-back) mappings.

    Jin

  • How do I resolve error message "mapi was unable to load aplzod.dll"? Outlook2010 on Win7

    Attempts to open Outlook calendar files (apparently located) on iCloud result in the error message "MAPI was unable to load the information service C:\PROGRA~2\COMMON~1\Apple\Internet Services\APLZOD.dll". Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured."
    I am running Outlook 2010 on Windows 7. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes with no apparent effect. Is this a problem with iTunes or Outlook, how do I resolve it?

    That's part of my problem - I was getting the error message when I tried to click on iCloud in the Calendar portion of Outlook 2010. I don't know where it was generated (iCloud, iTunes, or as an add-in to Outlook).
    After my original post I tried restoring my computer to a date when I knew this worked, the restoration worked, and I can access my calendar. So that problem resolved itself.
    I do have another question, but I'll post it separately. Thanks for your response.

  • How to use the variables used in the message mapping

    Hi ,
    In the message mapping we can declare variables in the JAVA section , these variables could be used across the mapping .
    I have tried using it but I am unable to retrieve the values assigned to the variables in one UDF into the another UDF .
    Please guide me how to use the variables declared in the JAVA section in the message mapping .
    Thanks
    Anita Yadav

    Anita,
    I have worked on the Global variables and i found no issues. Make sure that the variable is declared in the Declaration Section and then initlaized in the Initialization section.
    If you declare a variable in the Declaration Section ,
    int i;
    then in any udf you can use if directly. No need to re declare  the variable in the UDF. If you do this, then it becomes a local variable.

  • Multi Mapping : How to get Message count after splitting

    Hi all,
    I am following below blog.
    /people/narendra.jain/blog/2005/12/30/various-multi-mappings-and-optimizing-their-implementation-in-integration-processes-bpm-in-xi
    Can any body please tell me how to get the count of messages generated after splitting in the message mapping.. I have created the message data type but not aware what is needed to be done.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Kulwant Singh

    Multi mappings r done in order to split the messages to the number of messages required by the user. So for 1:N mapping, the details about "N" is based on ur requirement. So its not like - when u split, any number of message could get created. The count would be dependent on u.

  • How to validate a date in message mapping

    Hi experts,
                    how to validate a date in message mapping. For ex:  if date comes as 2008/02/31, then file it shold not get processed.how to achieve this in message mapping. Please help .
    Thanks&Regards,
    Reyaz Hussain

    Hi,
    There are few simple ways for date validation as follow,
    1.If you would like to handle it in XI only, then in message mapping you could verify about it with the help of generating smart exception.
    For e.g in mapping there is one Date conversion API i.e. somthing DateTransformation It converts the incoming date format to required format. Here give the date format i.e expected from Sender File.
    If in case the format miss-matched then it will create the exception.
    You could handle this exception with the use of [Alert notification|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2c/abb2e7ff6311d194c000a0c93033f7/frameset.htm] and could be even able to notify to sender system about it.
    2. The another solution is easy for SAP synchornous communication --If you are passing the file data to SAP, then you could use below function modules to verify date format in receiver RFC/BAPI or inbound IDOC program. If the sy-subrc is not 0 then don't process further.
    CONVERT_DATE_FORMAT
    ISU_DATE_FORMAT_CHECK

  • How to find length of integer elements using message mapping

    Hi all,
             How can I find the number of digits in an element using message mapping
    XIer

    Satish,
               Cause I have to write the code for 100 elements, I have decided to have a AUDF with two inputs;
    1) for the element
    2) for the length of the data type (I am passing length using Constant message mapping func).
    Now when I change my UDF and try running it I get the following error:

    if(i==Element_Name.length())

  • How to implement validations in message mapping?

    Hi experts,
    I have a simple requirement:
    I have a simple synchronous scenario:
    SOAP -> XI -> RFC
    In a message mapping, one of the fields in the source message is of type String.
    However, the target application (RFC) does not expect a non-numeric characters in this string.
    My question is how can I perform the validation in XI and tell the sender that this field contains Non-numeric characters?

    Hi Jai
    I already have alerts configured.
    But what I had in mind is to send a response to the sender (The sender is waiting for a reply since this is synchronous), instead of telling the sender through an alternative means such as email, sms, etc.
    Is this possible?
