How to install javamail demos

I have tried to install two different Sun javamail demos:
1) From Sun javamail-1_2.zip distribution
javamail-1.2/demo/servlet/JavaMailServlet.java
2) From Sun website: http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/javaserverpages/emailapps
On Red Hat Linux 7.0, I have tried with combinations of the following:
1) jdk1.3.1_01
2) jdk1.2.2
3) Tomcat 3.2.3/Apache 1.3.20/mod_jk
4) iPlanet Web Server, FastTrack 4.1
The JavaMail.html webpage itself shows up just fine with all of these combinations. I am able to start other servlets from the test directories so I believe the CLASSPATH and various paths are set correctly.
For curiosity, I tried just running the javamail1.2 demo separately, knowing that it doesn't have any arguments as set up in JavaMail.html:
# javac JavaMailServlet.java
# java JavaMailServlet
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main
The readme files with the demos just are not specific enough in their install instructions.

Hi, Iam new to Javamail I just tried a simple programme to send a mail to my yahoo Account using Javamail-1.2. I gave the Yahoo SMTP host address as smtp.mail.yahoo.com as suggested by yahoo.
But it throws an exception as follows:
Exception in thread "main" javax.mail.SendFailedException: Sending failed; nested exception is :
javax.mail.MessagingException: 521 Mail not accepted from this domain
at javax.mail.Transport.send()(Transport.java:219)
at javax.mail.Transport.send()(Transport.java:81)
at MailExample.main(MailExample.java:37)
but If I set the smtp host as md3.vsnl.net.in and send a mail to my VSNL (my ISP) mail Account. It works finely. Can any one help me to sending mail to my Yahoo A/c and other mail Accounts using JavaMail programme.

• How to install Forms Demos?

Hi:
I've downloaded the Forms Demos for NT but I cannot install it on my computer which I've installed Oracle 8i on it.
The Installer said that "Oracle Forms Demos does not support multiple installations, and therefore cannot installed on 'DesDev6i'. It can only be installed on 'O8iEE'. In order to install Oracle Forms Demos, please run the Oracle Installer again, and select 'O8iEE' as the target location"
where O8iEE is my Oracle's default home and DesDev6i is the location where I want to install the Forms Demos.
After I run Installer again and selected the O8iEE as the target location for Forms Demos the Installer told me that "The location specified 'O8iEE' is already used as an Oracle home for 'Oracle 816 Production' It cannot be used as an Oracle home for NT".
What should I do?
null

Hi:
Thank you for your help. I tried and it worked for me. But what should be done if the 'DEFAULT_HOME' was used for the default home name already?

• New demos for Forms9i, how to install them ?

How do i have to install the demos which comes with demos9_0_0_0_8.zip file ?
Thanks
Hans

Hans - I have added the README file to the Forms demo page - this should be "live" within the next 24 hours.
Incase you need them now:
1) Download Jinitiator 1.3.1.9 from OTN of you don't have it installed
2) Unzip the file into a suitable temporary folder e.g. c:\temp\9idemos
3) Start OC4J befor installing
4) Start the Universal installer from the Oracle Installation Products start
menu option
5) Point the installer at the (c:\temp\9idemos\)products.jar file and select
your iDS Oracle Home as the home to install into
6) Follow the installer instructions
7) Read the readme file launched by the install
8) Click on the Desktop icon or Start menu option to launch the demos.
Restrictions
This set of demos is only intended for installation into an Oracle9iDS
Oracle Home on Windows NT or 2000
HOpe this helps.

• How can I install the demo of "presidents" on HTML DB in Chinese DB?

How can I install the demo of "presidents" on HTML DB in Chinese DB?
Error occurs:
ORA-20001: This demonstration can only be installed into an Oracle database which has the English preferences loaded for Oracle Text. Please contact your administrator.
NLS_LANGUANGE IS ZHN16gbk.
Thanks for any help.

note 262701.1 on metalink talks about this, but you need to load the "Knowledge Base" used by Oracle Text before you can run that demo. in 10g that's on the companion CD. i'm not sure how that would work with your characterset, but that demo does require that the english knowledge base be installed.

• How to install demo version of Voicedial?

ok, i am perfectly new to iphone. i have downloaded demo version of the Vocedial onto my desktop. i have no idea how to install it onto the iphone 3g. please, be specific in your instructions, i am a total noob.
yes, i do have itunes and can sync. just have no idea how make them find that program.
will appreciate.

well, like i always knew it: WONNA THINGS DONE RIGHT, DO THEM YOURSELF
in order to install application that was not downloaded from itunes store, pop up itunes, then click on file>add file> browse to the file> click on file>add it. now it'll be in itunes library and itunes will recognise it.
go to your phone in itunes>on the top of the window go to applications>you should see your file now. check "chose application to sync" then check whatever application you have in the large pan now>click on sync down at the bottom. of course, you must have your phone connected before you do all this. then it does its magic.
dear apple, how hard and much of an effort was it to put something like this into your manual or into FAQs on your website? as bad as germans are with their product, they are more user friendly on directions.

If it depends upon other oracle components what is that i need to install additionally . And if you could provide links to all the required components, it would be great help.
Also if there is any demo from where i can see what all features CDAA support and how does it compare to other products say IBM commonstore etc , please let me know.

if it is windows 2003 32 bit, then it is supported on X86-64 servers for both database and application tiers
If it is windows 2003 64 bit, then only datatabase tier is supported on x86-64 servers

• Black screen on GDM, how to install xorg-base from grub?

I followed these installation guides to install archlinux in a virtualbox before testing it out on a real machine:
* http://wideaperture.net/blog/?p=3851
* https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Vi … al_Machine
* http://lifehacker.com/5680453/build-a-k … he-process
* http://www.muktware.com/2013/11/how-to- … ed/16825/6
* http://cbopt.com/how-to-install-arch-li … ng-system/
* https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners%27_Guide
It was really all smooth sailing until I finished installing gnome and gnome-extra. These seemed to go well, but then I ran into a problem a lot like this guy's:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=119657
Namely, I now get past GRUB and am greated with a black screen that I seem to have no control over. I can't boot, can't type, can't add my user to a video group, nothing.
So, I have two questions:
* What seems to be wrong? From that thread, I think I need to install xorg-base, possibly? Could it be that I installed the wrong video drivers for a virtual machine? (I assume it's the virtual machine I need drivers for, not my actual video card, right?)
* In a situation like this, how should I properly use GRUB to boot into CLI where I can diagnose, fix stuff, and do things like install xorg-base? I can't find any way to boot to command line.
**Update**
Here's a little more research I've done.
1. I booted up using my installation disk to try accessing my files, maybe I can set something to not use GDM, as per here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/76543/ho … -selection
2. But I didn't know how to access underlying files when on boot disk, so I did this:
$ fdisk -l # told me sda2 was my Linux Filesystem
$ sudo mount /dev/sda2 /mnt
3. From the beginner's guide section on GUI troubleshooting here, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners_Guide, I tried this (prepending my mount point):
$ grep EE /mnt/var/log/Xorg.0.log
4. Well, I can't copy the output because of no GUI, but there were 3 errors:
(EE) Failed to load module "modesetting" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "fbdev" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "vesa" (module does not exist, 0)
Are any of these relevant to why I boot into a black screen rather than something that looks like GNOME?
**Update 2**
Something similar for:
grep EE /mnt/var/log/gdm/:0.log.4
(EE) Failed to load module "modesetting" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "fbdev" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "vesa" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering
** Update 3 **
Discovered I could TTY to another terminal. In virtualbox this is Host + F2.
Re-enabled gdm, restarted xstart, ran gnome, no luck.
$ sudo pacman -S xorg
told me I was out of disk space, uh oh! Of course, I made it only 4 GB since this is a virtualbox demo.
OK, let's resize my sda2 disk. Restart with the live CD.
and now...?

• Where I can find instructions on how to install Sales Forecasting application?

Hi,
I'm looking for instructions on how to install Sales Forecasting application mentioned in this OBE: http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/12c/r1/security/sec_redact/sec_redact.html.
Prerequisite says:
Installed Oracle Application Express (APEX) in a pluggable database, with the Sales Forecasting application created in an APEX workspace
So, i want to read up on how to install this Sales Forecasting application created in an APEX workspace.
Thanks for your help.

I believe that was an older sample apex application that is no longer available. At least not available in the set of sample and demo applications that ship with APEX..
Thank you,

• How to install eLearning Suite silently without the license agreement prompt

I was able to install the eLearning Suite 1.0 by following the guideline "How to install Captivate Silently". I used the "setup --mode=silent --deploymentFile=install.xml" method, and that worked except one thing. Adobe Air prompted for a License Agreement, and I also got a demo screen pop up. How do I supress these two pop ups when using the silent mode setup? I know how to do this for Captivate, but folder structures are different in eLearning Suite.
Thanks.

Bob,
Let me know if this summary is correct:
1. If possible allways let Vista install apps in default directories.
2. Adobe apps and their newer versions are by default installed in new directories (except for Acrobat). For example CS4 MC would be installed as a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. Another example, eLearning Suite 4 would be installed as a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. Therefore all settings in each newly installed application need to be set up. Does each application then have its own unique data directory structure?
3. Since each Suite is a separate entity each license is seperate. This avoids cross license issues between different Suites.
4. If a user allways wants the same (latest) version of an application to load then one must manually uninstall old versions in the other Suites.
For example, as a default install eLearning Suite 4 would be a completely seperate entity from CS 3 MC. The user would then delete the following older CS3 applications (as the newer versions are in eLearning Suite 4):
Photoshop CS3 Extended
Flash CS3 Professional
Dreamweaver CS3
Soundbooth CS3
Except for Acrobat as the default install would have updated the CS3 version.

• How to Install/Access HANA Academy Workshop Exercise Solutions and Templates

In Thomas Jung's HANA Academy tutorial on "Native Development Workshop", solutions and templates are cited in the "Simple "Hello World"" video...
HANA Academy - HANA Native Development Workshop: Simple "Hello World" - YouTube
Where are there intructions on where to access and/or how to install/import these workshop resources?
Thank you.

Thanks Thomas.
I've been provided with a departmental, on-premise instance for the purposes of demo and educational sandbox, so will not be using a Developer Edition via one of the cloud providers.
I'm searching for a tutorial path that has kept prerequisite configuration to a minimum.
At first glance, your native HANA development HANA Academy series seems to fit that bill.
In that these are the first hours of my exposure to HANA, I'd love to be able to keep pace with your videos step-by-step. I'd prefer to use the solutions and templates that you begin to use in the second video (Hello World) of that series. As a noob, avoiding the translation from the SHINE doc would preserve my train of thought and prevent me from going into the weeds by taking missteps due to the translation.
Is there a way to access the solutions/templates depicted in your video series other than having to install/use/access Developer Edition?
...or is there another, more recent video tutorial with a close matching set of solutions/templates that you would recommend?
Thank you.

• Unable to install mapviewer demo's

I have installed the mvqs10_1_2_0_2 quickstart version of mapviewer from technet and am trying to install the demo's. The import fails due to a lack of the mdsys schema. We have an enterprise edition license of the database server but not the extra spatial option. From what I read we should be able to use the Locator resources for free.
What appears to be happening is we do not have the required objects for Locator in the database (e.g. mdsys schema).
We have updated to 10.1.0.4 database using the migration tool to migrate from an 8.1.7 database. It appears that using the migration tool rather than creating a new 10G database seems to have missed adding the required objects for Locator.
How can I install the resources needed for locator? Using dbca I can install spatial but we have not licensed spatial. Is there a way to just install Locator? -quinn

Hi,
Locator is free, but it is part of the interMedia option.
You should check your install to see if interMedia is installed or not.
If not, you can use DBCA to install interMedia.

I do not remember does Apex 2.1 that is coming with XE have any sample application.
You can upgrade Apex if you like, and then you get like this (exuding Other Demos) app
http://actionet.homelinux.net/htmldb/lspdemo
And you can install e.g. these sample applications
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/packaged-apps-090453.html
Here is instructions to upgrade Apex.
Please read document completely before starting. As it say you will lose database management features
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/upgrade-apex-for-xe-154969.html
And of course those links I did post earlier do not apply anymore, as those are talking about Apex 2.1
