How to install Web Auth. Bundle on WLC 2504

Hi,
I need to install a Web Auth bundle and when I download the file from cisco's webpage, its a .zip, but the WLC asks for a .tar file, so I converted it to a .tar and tried again but then it said file was too big.
Can someone please instruct me on how to do it?
Thanks in advance,
Javier

Hi,
   the .tar file size (no more than 1Mb
the filename length of the files (should be no more than 30 characters)
Plus other guide lines while downloading at the below location

  • WLC Custom Web Auth Bundle sample .tar file is not on WCS

    The WLC documentation would make it appear (or maybe previously) you should download a sample web auth bundle code from the WCS Templates. I was never able to find a sample .tar file on the WCS 7.0.172.0 templates.
    However I found on Cisco.com under Support > Downloads > Products >Wireless> Wireless LAN Controller Standalone Controllers> Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers > Cisco 5508 Wireless Controller > Wireless Lan Controller Web Authentication Bundle-1.0.2  > webauth_bundle-1.0.2.zip
    It was updated in June 2011, some pretty good sample html code.
    The readme.html in the sample webauth_bundle-1.0.2.zip file has been very helpful , almost as good as the suppport community web page on custom web auth.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13954

    WCS config guide 7.0.172 is correct
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/wcs/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/temp.html#wp1129979
    The bundle in WCS is downloaded through :
    configure->controller
    "select a command"-> download customized webauth bundle.
    Just tested it and it was there.
    The one on cisco.com is better though

  • WLC 4404 5.1.151.0 - custom web-auth bundle

    Ultimately the user needs to see a custom "splash page" without having to authenticate. I have successfully installed a custom web-auth bundle that appears when the WLAN Web Policy is enabled, but without any authentication, there is no access to the outside.
    Is what I'm trying to accomplish possible in some other way?

    You will not be able to do this unless you use some 3rd party hotspot utility. The main reason you should have an accept button is to be able to display a terms and conditions for users to read if they wish. This will protect you from an legal troubles. You can try to write a script on the html page (you can keep the page blank and hide everything) that will activate the accept button, that way you can redirect them to your web page.
    Try to add this to your html page:
    setTimeout("submitAction()",20);
    Hope this helps... just make sure you keep you html page blank.... by setting the background and text to white or any color of your choice.

  • How to retrieve the webauth-bundle on WLC

    I can see the web auth bundle:
    (Cisco Controller) show custom-web webauth-bundle
    box-bottom.gif
                  box-left.gif
                              image.gif
                                            login.html
                                                      logo.gif
                                                              logout.html
    Now I want to download the web bundle( box-buttom.gif, box-left.gif...logo.gif,logout.gif) to my PC. Is it possible, if so, how?

  • Customized Web-Auth Bundle

    Hi
    I am trying to upload a customized web-auth bundle to a WLC 5508 and having some issues.
    I have downloaded the web-auth bundle from Cisco and used this as a template to create the web pages.
    I seem to recall that there is only a couple of Windows tools that you can use to TAR the file such as TUGZIP and IZARC. Anyway I have tried both and I still cannot get the file to extract. I have tried to strip the file out so that I only send up the login.html page and even this does not work.
    I am using a software release 7.0.220.0
    The error message I receive when I do a TFTP is
    Error extracting webauth files.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Greg

    Hi Greg:
    I hope you find the answer here:
    You can compress the page and image files used for displaying a web authentication login page into a.tar file for download to a controller. These files are known as the webauth bundle. The maximum allowed size of the files in their uncompressed state is 1 MB. When the .tar file is downloaded from a local TFTP server, it enters the controller's file system as an untarred file.
    Note If you load a webauth bundle with a .tar compression application that is not GNU compliant, the controller cannot extract the files in the bundle and the following error messages appear: "Extracting error" and "TFTP transfer failed." Therefore, we recommend that you use an application that complies with GNU standards, such as PicoZip, to compress the .tar file for the webauth bundle.
    Reference: http://tiny.cc/rbqbfw
    So double check the size and tarring utility.
    Try to use WinRar or 7Zip if the tarring format is the issue.

  • How to tweak Web-Auth Policy timeout on WLC?

    Hello,
    Is it possible to change Web-Auth Policy timeout? Currently I am talking about 5508, but it could be WiSM also.
    Thank you.

    You need to be clear on what thing though, the webauth policy timeout has nothing to do with authenticated users.
    This is time we will wait on a client to perform a Webauthentication and move to a RUN state.
    If a user is hitting webauth timeout, they are going to be removed because they aren't a working client anyhow.
    The only exception to this pre-auth ACL I suppose where you want users do webauthenticate if they go outside of a specific webpage, but have unlimited access to that one page.
    Either way, I agree the timer needs to modifiable, but you need to make sure you're fighting for the right timer.
    If your clients are going to sleep and they Dissasocciate, of course they will have to reauth, the disassociate removed them from the enterprise network entirely.
    If they are sleeping though, and timing out because of a normal IDLE timeout (not web policy timeout), that is modifed on the Controller TAB of the GUI for "User Idle Timeout".

  • Show web auth users on WLC

    Hello all!
    I have a Cisco WLC 2500 running software version 7.0.220.0 and one of its WLANs it´s configured to Web Auth with LDAP (Microsoft AD) and it´s working fine.
    Now i need to figure out how to list all the authenticated users, they IP Address, AP Name and some other informations located in the Clients > Detail page.
    Is there any CLI command that will show the information I need? Or even another way to retrieve that information?
    Thanks in advance.
    Valdecir
    São Paulo, Brazil.

    The only way you can see this detail is from the CLI of the WLC:
    show client summary
    Find the mac address of the user
    show client detail <mac address>

  • Loading web auth bundle for pass through

    I have created a web page using the web auth template that I downloaded from Cisco.  Am I just supposed to upload the TAR file that I created from the wap folder or do I have to upload the entire bundle that I downloaded from Cisco created as a TAR file?
    Thank you.
    I have attached the files I am using and cannot get them to load on the web browser when I click on preview.  The login.tar file loads onto the controller with no problem and reports succesful installation.
    Seth

    You need to use a Linux/unix box or else on windows you can use 7-zip, pico zip or power archiver.
    Per this doc
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.2/configuration/guide/cg_user_accts.html#wp1183650
    Note
    If you load a webauth bundle with a .tar compression application that is not GNU compliant, the controller cannot extract the files in the bundle and the following error messages appear: "Extracting error" and "TFTP transfer failed." Therefore, we recommend that you use an application that complies with GNU standards, such as PicoZip, to compress the .tar file for the webauth bundle.

    hi every body,
    how to install tomcat50-jwsdp.zip .

    i read RUNNING.txt but there is one thing i colud not uderstand as folowing:
    (1) Download and Install the Tomcat 5 Binary Distribution
    NOTE: As an alternative to downloading a binary distribution, you can create
    your own from the Tomcat source repository, as described in "BUILDING.txt".
    If you do this, the value to use for "${catalina.home}" will be the "dist"
    subdirectory of your source distribution.
    * Download a binary distribution of Tomcat from:
    http://jakarta.apache.org/site/binindex.cgi
    * Unpack the binary distribution into a convenient location so that the
    distribution resides in its own directory (conventionally named
    "jakarta-tomcat-5"). For the purposes of the remainder of this document,
    the symbolic name "$CATALINA_HOME" is used to refer to the full
    pathname of the release directory.
    (2) Start Up Tomcat 5
    Tomcat 5 can be started by executing the following commands:
    $CATALINA_HOME\bin\startup.bat (Windows)

  • How to install Web Dynpro ABAP on Longhorn Beta 3

    Hello, want to give some hints how to install WDA SP12 on Longhorn Beta 3:
    - Computer name maximum 8 chars
    - set a pw for administrator, not empty (don't know whether necessary)
    - rename image\NTPATCH subdir before starting install, otherwise install crashes
    - at end of installation mmc msi is not found, start manually from \sap\nsp\_installTemp
    - starting sapmmc, converts to Longhorn mmc version, store it, start only new version (old version crashed after some minutes)
    - at end of installation, manually start r3dllcon.exe from former ntpatch dir, make it WinXP conform before. ntpatch must be a local dir to make it conform. I disabled uac before, but don't know whether it's necessary (msconfig, right register, uac disable). r3dllcon copy some C dll files into windows\system32, so uac should be disabled
    - set hostname in hosts file
    - network disable tcpv6
    - add sapmsNSP 3600/tcp, sapdp 3200/tcp and sapgw 3300/tcp in services
    - add dbms/type=sdb in file ...\profile\default.pfl (don't know if this was necessary)
    - start in new sap mmc
    This information is an appreciation to your great forums in sdn!
    Best regards
    Joerg

    Hi,
    You can maintain the clinet side data in session.
    Code to maintain the client side data in session
    String test1 = wdContext.currentContextElement().getTest1();
    String test2 = wdContext.currentContextElement().getTest2();
    IMaintainScope maintainer = Utils.getScopeMaintainer(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE);
    maintainer.getScope().put("Test1", test1);
    maintainer.getScope().put("Test2", test2);
    //Retrieving the data from session
    if(maintainer.getScope().get("Test1") != null)
    String test1= maintainer.getScope().get("Test1").toString();
    if(maintainer.getScope().get("Test2") != null)
    String test2= maintainer.getScope().get("Test2").toString();
    Hoe this helps you...
    Regards,
    Saleem
