How to invoke a popup programatically from adf region

Hi All,
I have included a task flow as a region in my home.jspx page .
My taskflow contains a assets,jsff page where on save button click i want to show some popup message programatically
i mean i want to invoke showpoup code in my save action listener .
I got some code snippet but this is working only incase if popup is invoked from jspx .
public static void invokePopup(String popupId, String align,
String alignId) {
if (popupId != null) {
ExtendedRenderKitService service =
Service.getRenderKitService(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(),
ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
StringBuffer showPopup = new StringBuffer();
showPopup.append("var hints = new Object();");
//Add hints only if specified - see javadoc for AdfRichPopup js for details on valid values and behavior
if (align != null && alignId != null) {
showPopup.append("hints[AdfRichPopup.HINT_ALIGN] = " + align +
showPopup.append("hints[AdfRichPopup.HINT_ALIGN_ID] ='" +
alignId + "';");
showPopup.append("var popupObj=AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent('" +
popupId +
"'); if (popupObj) popupObj.show(hints);");
service.addScript(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(),
showPopup.toString());
*************************************************8
Please let me know what changes i need to do inorder to call thid popup invoke method from jsff.
Thanks with regards ,
Arun.

Hello lucbors, This problem sounds like one I am trying to solve as well.
I have a popup on my jspx page that I want to call from the bean for my jsff.
My problem is in the step "get a hold on to a rich popup instance, which you can do by referencing a JSF component binding"
I cannot seem to find the instance of that popup.
The popup is a property in a managed bean that is registered in the adfc-config as session scope. I found another thread that said to
    //EmployerBean is the name of the managed bean for my jspx
    //  this code is in an event handler in GipsBean, the backing bean for my jsff
    HttpSession session = (HttpSession)context.getExternalContext().getSession(true);
    EmployerBean employerBeanInstance = (EmployerBean) session.getAttribute("EmployerBean");
    if(employerBeanInstance == null)
      employerBeanInstance = new EmployerBean();
      session.setAttribute("EmployerBean", employerBeanInstance);
    }Can you offer some insight? I am new to ADF, so my approach may be very wrong.
Thanks

    Hi,
    To call the RFC in mapping u need to create the RFC lookups...check these links.
    How we have to create the lookups?

    Hello,

  • How to invoke an OSB service from a BPEL process

    I need help, to figure out how to invoke an OSB proxy service from a BPEL process.
    I found a blog which exactly does that; but I am unable to get it to work. I get the following error on my BPEL console. We are on OSB10gR3 and SOA 10134.
    "com.bea.wli.sb.transports.TransportException: Unknown error while processing message for service ProxyService DWIntegrations/ProxyService/PeopleServiceBus"
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    BP

    It really comes down to the proxy service on the OSB. Is it invoked by a WSDL? If so you should be able to take the endpoint defined in the proxy service messaging configuration and use that URL. You also need to use the sb transport type.
    Can you also post the blog you used, then we can put it into context.
    also have a look at this link.

  • How to invoke a proxy service from a java client

    Hi all,
    how could I invoke a proxy service from a java client ?
    The proxy service type is 'any xml service' with http protocol.
    For a proxy with web service type I can export the related WSDL and generate the java client source.
    With 'any xml service' there is no associated wsdl and I'm wondering how to do that.
    Thanks
    ferp

    Hi Ferp,
    I used ClientGEN to generate client files from WSDL deployed in ALSB. You can also use Axis for client file generation.
    You need to know the WSDL URL. Generate Client files from WSDL URL.
    Sample ANT Script
    <project name="simple-web" default="mytask" basedir=".">
    <taskdef name="clientgen" classname="weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.ClientGenTask" classpath="C:\bea92\weblogic92\server\lib\weblogic.jar"/>
    <target name="mytask" description="Generate web service client">
              <clientgen wsdl="http://<hostname>:<port>/URL?WSDL"
         destDir="src"
         packageName="com.client.mytask"
         classpath="${java.class.path}" />
         </target>
    </project>
    Use the following JAVA Code,
    try {
         ActivationService service = new ActivationService_Impl("http://<hostname>:<port>/url?WSDL");
    client = service.getActivationServicePort();
    } catch (Exception ex) {
    // Handle Exception
    client.activateNumber();
    Let me know if you need any more information.

  • How to get edited row values from ADF table?

    JDev 11.
    I have a table which is populated with data from Bean.
    I need to save changes after user make changes in any table cell. InputText is defined for table column component.
    I have defined ValueChangeListener for inputText field and AutoSubmit=true. So when user change value in inputText field, method is called:
    public void SaveMaterial(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    getSelectedRow();
    SaveMaterial(material);
    This method should call getSelectedRow which take values from selected table row and save them into object:
    private Row getSelectedRow(){
    RichTable table = this.getMaterialTable();
    Iterator selection = table.getSelectedRowKeys().iterator();
    while (selection.hasNext())
    Object key = selection.next();
    table.setRowKey(key);
    Object o = table.getRowData();
    material = (MATERIAL) o;
    System.out.println("Selected Material Desc = "+material.getEnumb());
    return null;
    Problem is that getSelectedRow method doesnt get new (edited) values, old values are still used.
    I have tried to use ActiveButton with same method and it works fine in that case. New values are selected from active row and inserted into object.
    JSF:
    <af:table var="row" rowSelection="single" columnSelection="single"
    value="#{ManageWO.material}" binding="#{ManageWO.materialTable}">
    <af:column sortable="false" headerText="E-number">
    <af:inputText value="#{row.enumb}" valueChangeListener="#{ManageWO.SaveMaterial}" autoSubmit="true"/>
    </af:column>
    <af:column sortable="false" headerText="Description">
    <af:inputText value="#{row.desc}" valueChangeListener="#{ManageWO.SaveMaterial}" autoSubmit="true"/>
    </af:column>
    </af:table>
    <af:activeCommandToolbarButton text="Save" action="#{ManageWO.EditData}"/>
    What is a correct place from where save method should be called to get new (edited) values from ADF table?
    Thanks.

    Did you look into the valueChangeEvent?
    It has oldValue and newValue attributes.
    public void SaveMaterial(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    Object oldVal = valueChangeEvent.getOldValue();
    Object newVal = valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
    // check if you see what you are looking for.....
    getSelectedRow();
    SaveMaterial(material);
    }Timo

  • How to invoke a custom adapter from a BPEL process

    Hi guys,
    I've implemented a custom outbound adapter and deployed successfully on Weblogic V.10.3.4.
    My current installation also consists of Oracle SOA Suite 11g / JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.4.0)
    In the Weblogic administrator's console,
    *1.* I navigated to:
    Summary of Deployments -> AdapterName -> Configuration -> Outbound Connection Pools
    *2.* Selected: javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory and added new JNDI name for Outbound Connection Instance: "*eis/HelloWorld*"
    My task is to invoke the custom adapter from a BPEL process.
    I altered the customAdapter-config.xml so as to be able to use custom adapter wizard from JDeveloper's "Service Adapters" palette,
    and fullfilled the custom adapter wizard's fields accordingly. The 3rd step of the wizard requires Connection Information.
    I added: "*eis/HelloWorld*" in the "*Connection Factory Location*" field.
    Deployed BPEL process successfully, but testing failed due to binding.jca-12510 error:
    "The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue: BINDING.JCA-12510 JCA Resource Adapter location error. Unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/> The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/HelloWorld'. The reason for this is most likely that either 1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or 2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/HelloWorld. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR). Please correct this and then restart the Application Server "I tried to apply (just for testing) "eis/FileAdapter" in the "Connection Factory Location" field of the custom adapter wizard,
    and BPEL successfully invoked the adapter.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks,
    George

    George, What deployment do you have this associated with?

  • To invoke bussiness rules engine from ADF

    hi all,
    To invoke the business rule engine running on the SOA server, from the application module. can you please any one help me in this.

    Murali,
    If the business rules are deployed to the SOA Suite as service-enabled rules, they are just web service calls, correct? You can create a web service proxy class in JDeveloper and then just invoke that class from your AM's java code. There's nothing special with respect to an AM in this case, so if you have detailed questions - probably best to ask in the SOA Suite forum - but no need to complicate the issue by bringing an AM into your question - you just want to invoke a business rule from Java.

  • How to invoke Application Module method from entity object methods

    Hi,
    We have an existing Application Module which provides some validation logic. We are using OperatingBinding or getting the Application Module instance from the bindings and then invoking the app module methods in the view controller project.
    But in our current scenario, We need to invoke the application module method from the setAttribute method in the entity object when ever an entity attribute value is changed . I believe we can call createRootApplicationModule method to create application module instance. But this may lead to performance overhead.
    Can you please suggest, if there is any alternative to invoke the application module method inside the business components.
    What is the best way to create

    We have a pricing service, which was developed as a separate application. We need to invoke the pricing service with the change in certain attributes of the entity object and update some of the attributes of the current entity object. At present we are handling these calls to the pricing service in the ui layer in the valueChangeListener.
    But we would like to move this service call into setAttribute method as we are unable to prevent the call to the service if the model validations fail. I am looking for the best possible approach for invoking the service calls from the entity objects.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • How to update data in database from different region of the same page

    Hi,
    I have pepared two regions of tabular form based on the same table,each region is selecting different columns of the same table.
    I want to update the values from different regions in the database using single submit button.
    Regards
    Shashi

    I presume that the two regions are working fine with their individual buttons and your issue is how to make them both save with one button.
    Here is how
    a. You will have 2 ApplyMRU and 1 ApplyMRD processes for each of the regions. Right? Lets say you have 2 "Save" (i.e. label=Save) buttons, one has name SUBMIT and the other SAVE ( SUBMIT and SAVE being the requests that will be sent when they are clicked , respectively)
    b. Make the Display condition on one of the buttons 'Never'. Now it won't show when you run the page. Lets say you made SAVE's conditional Display 'Never'
    c. Go and change the condition on all ApplyMRU and ApplyMRD processes from "When Button Pressed" to "Request is contains in Expression1". In Expression1 enter SUBMIT,SAVERegards

  • How to reset viewScope for a particular ADF region

    I have following usecase.
    I navigate to a page (say cloud home page). while calling this page couple of parameters are set in view scope.
    1. viewScope.keyAttrs.target
    2. viewScope.keyAttrs.type
    The page has a ADF region ( say inventory) embedded.
    For this region I want above parameters in view scope to be null. Can I set a flag or something to make it null?

    My requirement is specific to Enterprise Manager so closing the thread.
