  • How to set Bind variable on the action of command link

    I have two tables. One is the list of processes and other one is the details of processes with process name as primary key.
    I want to first display the first table which has the list of processes on one page. When I click on perticular process name this process will pass to the bind variable of another table and corresponding details will be shown on other page. can anyone help how I can do this. My code is as follows:

    public class BpelDetailsViewImpl extends ViewObjectImpl implements BpelDetailsView {

    * @return variable value for bpelnameVar

    * Sets <code>value</code> for variable bpelnameVar.
    * @param value value to bind as bpelnameVar
    public void setbpelnameVar(String value) {

    this.executeQuery();

    Hi Shay..
    Thanx for your help...
    I stuck in one more problem. When I run directly the first list page it works fine. I craeted one more page home.jspx where I added a golink with <af:golink id="gl1" text ="List" destination="list.jspx". When I click on link it opens the list page. Now when I clicking on first column its redirecting to list.jspx not to details.jspx.
    What can be the solution for this.

  • How to Conditionally Render Command link within af:forEach

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to conditionally Display/Hide CommandLink item in af:forEach Loop.And this customization is on the Fusion Compensation applications
    <af:forEach items="#{bindings.RegionalAreaPVO.rangeSet}" var="parent">
    <af:spacer height="10" id="s1"/>
    <af:commandLink inlineStyle="font-weight:bold;" text="#{parent.ItemName}" partialSubmit="true" actionListener="#{backingBeanScope.RegionalAreaBean.launchTaskflow}" id="cl1" rendered="#{backingBeanScope.XXWFCRegionalAreaBean.modelEligibleflag eq true}">
    <af:setActionListener from="#{parent.Code}" to="#{parentNode}"/>
    </af:commandLink>
    </af:forEach>
    I have added a Cutom Managed Bean Class and Returning boolean value to Control Render property which is working. But now i want to add business Logic based on 'parent.ItemName' or 'parentNode' Values in the bean method to return proper Boolean value.
    But i am unable to get the Current Iteration values in the bean method.
    I am using below EL expressions to get the values. But no luck.
    String nameel = (String)ADFUtil.evaluateEL("#{bindings.parent.ItemName}");
    String codeel = (String)ADFUtil.evaluateEL("#{parent.Code}");
    String nodeEl = (String)ADFUtil.evaluateEL("#{parentNode}");
    Also, i have tried getting the Row object like below but i am getting the First row details always. My intention is to get Current row values and use them for Business logic.
    ViewRowImpl row =
    (ViewRowImpl)ADFUtil.evaluateEL("#{bindings." + VoName +
    "Iterator.currentRow}");
    String code = (String)row.getAttribute("Code");
    Third option i have tried is to add a dummy Outputtext and have assigned #parent.Code as Value. Idea is to find Component of OutPut text in managed Bean and get the value of it. If Value is say "Model" i want to add more Logic and return true/false accordingly. In this also, i am getting all occurences of Output text in Managed bean and i a unable to identify Current Iterator Index.
    Any help is highly appreciated on how can i render Command link Conditionally based on forEach Loop values and Index.
    Thanks
    Kaja

    I have used Condition expression in Render Property to resolve this.

  • How to pass parameter onclick of a command link created in a managed bean

    Hi,
    I created a command link in a managed bean using RichCommandLink . I want to pass a parameter on click of the command link like we do using <f:attribute> on the jspx. As i have created a command link using the bean hence i want to pass it programmatically to another method . How should i pass the parameter via the command link. Please help..

    Hi,
    can you please elaborate more on this.
    i am not getting what you are trying to tell.
    following is my actual code in java bean : :
    RichCommandLink remove= new RichCommandLink();
    remove.setId("E"+(rowID-1));
    remove.setText("Remove");
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    MethodExpression actionListener = context.getApplication().getExpressionFactory().createMethodExpression(context.getELContext(), "#{viewScope.test.onRemove}", null, new Class[] {ActionEvent.class});
    remove.addActionListener(new MethodExpressionActionListener(actionListener));
    childrenOfGroupLayout.add(remove);
    Here i have created RichCommandLink in Bean, in this i want to add the <f:attribute>
    how to add this in my current component.
    can you give some example..
    please help..

  • How to make a column as command link

    hi,
    how to make a column as command link.i want to make a table column as a command link so that a popup will come.please let me know.
    thanks in advance

    JDeveloper 10.1.3 does not have a popup but a dialog framework that opens a dialog in a separate browse window. As Chris pointed out, the developer guide contains a section about how to launch the dialog. To programmatically launch the dialog from a command link use its action listener property
        public void commandButton_action2(ActionEvent event) {
    // make the clicked row the current
      //Get access to the value binding
       ValueBinding vb = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().createValueBinding("#{bindings.DepartmentsView1Iterator}");
       DCIteratorBinding dciter = (DCIteratorBinding) vb.getValue(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
      //the command link is a child of af:column, which is a child of af:table
      CoreTable ct = (CoreTable)actionEvent.getComponent().getParent().getParent();
      //access the row data, to obtain the Row object and the formatted key string
      JUCtrlValueBindingRef juctrlref = (JUCtrlValueBindingRef) ct.getRowData();
      String rowKey = juctrlref.getRow().getKey().toStringFormat(true);
    //set the current row in the binding
      dciter.setCurrentRowWithKey(rowKey);
    // open dialog
            FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            AdfFacesContext adfFacesCtx = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            UIViewRoot viewRoot = new UIViewRoot();
            viewRoot.setViewId("/yourDialogPage.jspx");
            HashMap properties = new HashMap();
            properties.put("width",300);
            properties.put("height",200);
            adfFacesCtx.launchDialog(viewRoot,properties,(CoreCommandLink)event.getSource(),true,null);
      }If the dialog is based on the same VO then the current row is selected. If not then you may want to pass the value ofthe rowKey in a HashMap as the last argument to open dialog

  • Command Link Issue

    Hi,
    I am using Jdevloper 11g.
    I am facing issue with the following code.
    In brief - I am taking Value from session and want to display those values as Command link on jspx, in af:forEach.
    When I bind that Command Link with Managed Bean that time it displays Last Element only (Code given below).
    When I removed Binding ( binding="#{ManagedBean.schemeName}") at that time it displays all the values on page as Command Link.
    Binding is required for my app to find Link text. Is there any alternative?
      <af:forEach var="item"    items="#{sessionScope.SchemeList}">
    <af:commandLink text="#{item.schemeName}"
                                                    id="cb14" immediate="true"  partialSubmit="true"
                                                    binding="#{ManagedBean.schemeName}"
                                                     inlineStyle="#{item.eligibilStatus eq 'Y' ? 'color:black' : 'color:Red'}"
                                                  actionListener="#{ManagedBean.schemeChangeListener}"/>
    </af:forEach>Thank You,
    Regards,
    Dilkhush

    Hello,
    Thank you,
    The solution you had given that is working.
    Now my issue is I have created Programmatically VO.
    I refereed following link to create Programmatically VO
    http://adfpractice-fedor.blogspot.com/2011/01/adf-bc-programmatically-populated-vo.html
    but My issue is how to set VOs Bind Variable Value.
    Because have to send that value from the bean.
    In above link they took two inputText to set Bind Variable value but in my condition I cannot take InputText.
    I am setting that value in my Managed bean as shown below.
    public void schemeChangeListener(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
          OperationBinding opBinding =
              CommonUtil.getOperationBinding("#{bindings}",
                                             "initParamValues");
          opBinding.getParamsMap().put("custID", customerID.getValue().toString());
          opBinding.getParamsMap().put("accountType", (CommonUtil.evaluateEL("#{bindings.ADAccountType.attributeValue}")).toString());
          opBinding.getParamsMap().put("productID", (CommonUtil.evaluateEL("#{bindings.DMAProductId.attributeValue}")).toString());
          opBinding.getParamsMap().put("entityID", homeEntityID);
          opBinding.getParamsMap().put("schemeCode", linkText);
          opBinding.execute();
    }and I have taken that VO as Table on jspx page.
    Issue is before going to bean method it goes to View object and show NullPointerException because the values never get set.
    The above code is called when the commandLink is clicked code given below.
    <af:commandLink text="#{item.schemeName}"
                                                  id="sName" immediate="true"  partialSubmit="true"
                                                  inlineStyle="#{item.eligibilStatus eq 'Y' ? 'color:black' : 'color:Red'}"
                                                  actionListener="#{MakBean.schemeChangeListener}"/>is there any solution how can I set the Bind Variable value from bean and get Expected result in table.
    Thank you

  • Command Link as a row of a datatable in JSF

    Hi All,
    I am new to JSF. I have a Datatable with n number of rows.
    I would like to have a command Link in each of the rows, so that when i click the command link i should get the data of the entire row in my edit page.
    Can anyone suggest how can i achieve this.
    Regards
    SN

    Hi,
    Do following:
    1- add a datatable in your page and fill it with data comes from database(Assume u have no problem with datatable)
    2- add a column as commandLink in data table. e.g.
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="name" />
    </f:facet>
    <t:commandLink action="editObject" immediate="true" >
    <h:outputText value="#{theobject.name}" />
    <t:updateActionListener property="#{objectForm.id}" value="#{objectDto.id}" />
    </t:commandLink>
    </h:column>
    in this code:
    "name" is header of column,
    "editObject" is defined in navigation rule to navigate to edit page, lets say object form.
    "theobject.name" the value that mouse gets finger over it!
    "objectForm.id" the pointer to an "id setter" of a managed bean (named objectForm) defined in faces-config.xml. In this setter you can load corresponding data from database
    "objectDto.id" the pointer to an "id getter" of a managed bean (named objectDto) defined in faces-config.xml. this getter return the id of the entity row you clicked on.
    3- Clearly, you need to defined all managed beans, and dont forget to have a customized setter for id of objectForm (setId) to load the entity from database and fill all editable properties(as you like) in this function (setId).
    4- you need a JSF page to redirect to it for editing properties and feed by objectForm
    5- Thats it :)

  • Command Link : Backing bean setters/getters always invoked

    I am trying to understand how to the setters and getters of a request scope managed backing bean are invoked through the navigation flow when using a command link.
    It seems that no matter where the navigation rules redirects the page as a result of the action, both the setters and getters of any field bound in the originating page are called.
    For example if the originating page has a field name referred by "#{UserBean.name}" to input a username. setName() and getName() are always called as a result of a click on a command link
    This behavior is easily seen in a simple JSF example such as http://www.netbeans.org/kb/articles/jAstrologer-intro.html.
    If the jsp pointed by "to-view-id" is changed to have no reference to the backing bean or is changed to a jsp with just text, both setters and getters are still invoked.
    I could understand why the setters would be invoked (doesn't know ahead of time if the bean will be used?) but at least why the getters?
    Last, how to prevent this behavior? The problem is that the backing bean might have complex logic where it will fetch data if a getter is called.
    Thanks.

    I guess this article might be interesting to get some insights http://balusc.xs4all.nl/srv/dev-jep-djl.html
    The setters are invoked to set values and the getters are invoked to get the eventually presetted default values or the previously submitted values.

  • Output Link and Command link problem

    I have this command link that I want to redirect to a certain url, a complete one with the Http://www.webpage.com.. and its value is Goto This Page..
    lets say I want it to pass through a certain backing bean before redirecting how am i supposed to do it...?
    before it was this simple:
                   <h:outputLink  value="http://www.wepbage.com">
                        <h:outputText value="Go to this page"/>
                   </h:outputLink> but this could says that the action attribute is not valid for an outputLink..
    thanks in advance.. :)

  • ADF command link problem

    Hi All,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g. I have a master-detail relationship tables Order and OrderItem. I have an Order edit page which has editable Order information and a ADF read-only table which contains a list of items associated with the current order. I have a ADF command link on the column LineItemId in the table. When I click the link, it will take me to the item edit page. The problem is, whenever I select any item in the table, I always got the first item loaded in the item edit page. Does anyone has any ideas what I did wrong?
    Here is the portion of the code related to the command link,
    <af:column sortProperty="LineItemId" sortable="false"
    headerText="#{bindings.OrderItemsView2.hints.LineItemId.label}"
    id="c4">
    <af:commandLink actionListener="#{bindings.setCurrentRowWithKeyValue.execute}"
    text="#{row.LineItemId}"
    disabled="#{!bindings.setCurrentRowWithKeyValue.enabled}"
    id="cl1" partialTriggers="::t1"
    action="goOrderItemDetail"/>
    </af:column>
    Thanks in advance,
    John

    Hi Gurus,
    On a seeded page say Page1 one link is availabe which is specific to one Learning Path.
    When i click on that Learning Path's link it is redirecting me to a page say Page2 where it gives the list of different Learning Paths (including Learning Path of Page1) with a link for each Learning Path.
    If i click on that Learning Path's link it takes me to a page say Page3 where it gives the details of that perticular Learning Path.
    The requirement is , If I click on an Learning Path's link on Page1 ,it should redirect me directly to Page3 ( Skipping Page2 ).
    How can it be achieved?
    Please help!!!
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    That is what exactly I am trying right now. I am binding each of my page fragment outputText item in to backing bean and by that way trying to populate the values.
    But the issue here is, the backing bean method doesn't getting any value until I hit any of the link or the button in the fragment. While loading the page the bean set and get is null. If i hit any link or button it is filled up with the vaule. As per my design, I would like to populate the bean method along with page load before any user action. But cant able to do this!! :(
    Below is my sample code what I am trying right now
            <af:panelLabelAndMessage label="#{uiBundle.NETID}" id="plam13">
                      <af:outputText value="#{bindings.netid.inputValue}" id="ot4" binding="#{UserDataBean.netId}"/>
           </af:panelLabelAndMessage>
    backing bean ex:
    private RichOutputText netId;
    static String netidVal;
        public void setNetId(RichOutputText netId) {
           netidVal= netId.getValue() == null? "":netId.getValue().toString();
           this.netId = netId;
        public RichOutputText getNetId() {
           return netId;
        public String getNetIdVal() {
           return netidVal;

  • How can I add links to open xml and csv files stored in another location? Please advice how to place links in my frame maker document?

    Hi,
    I would like to know as to how can I add links to open xml and csv files stored in another location? Please advice how to place links in my frame maker document?
    Kindly advice.
    Thanks
    Priya

    Special > Hypertext > Command "open document" will do its best to open the target document inside FrameMaker, which may not be much help; Special > Hypertext > Command "message …" will use the application you specify. The user guide for 7.0 says this about absolute links, and I don't think anything has changed since:
    For example, to start PaintBrush and open the Ship.pcx file on drive C you would use the command message system pbrush.exe C:/Ship.pcx
    I've not often used a relative link, and not recently: the same source says
    folder levels are separated by a slash / even in Windows and Mac
    [relative links] FrameMaker searches for a relative pathname beginning in the folder that contains the current document
    [absolute links] FrameMaker searches for an absolute pathname beginning at the top of the file system. In Windows, the absolute pathname begins with the drive specifier, a colon and a slash.
