How to set Bind variable on the action of command link

I have two tables. One is the list of processes and other one is the details of processes with process name as primary key.
I want to first display the first table which has the list of processes on one page. When I click on perticular process name this process will pass to the bind variable of another table and corresponding details will be shown on other page. can anyone help how I can do this. My code is as follows:
package model;
import model.common.BpelDetailsView;
import oracle.jbo.server.ViewObjectImpl;
public class BpelDetailsViewImpl extends ViewObjectImpl implements BpelDetailsView {
* This is the default constructor (do not remove).
public BpelDetailsViewImpl() {
* Returns the variable value for bpelnameVar.
* @return variable value for bpelnameVar
public String getbpelnameVar() {
return (String)ensureVariableManager().getVariableValue("bpelnameVar");
* Sets <code>value</code> for variable bpelnameVar.
* @param value value to bind as bpelnameVar
public void setbpelnameVar(String value) {
ensureVariableManager().setVariableValue("bpelnameVar", value);
this.executeQuery();
<af:commandLink id="ot3" text="#{row.BpelName}"
action="#{DasboardBean.ot3_action}"/>
public String ot3_action() {
BpelDetailsViewImpl bdv=new BpelDetailsViewImpl();
bdv.setbpelnameVar("#{row.BpelName}");
return "success";
but its not working at all.
Its displaying the errors on click of command link.

Hi Shay..
Thanx for your help...
I stuck in one more problem. When I run directly the first list page it works fine. I craeted one more page home.jspx where I added a golink with <af:golink id="gl1" text ="List" destination="list.jspx". When I click on link it opens the list page. Now when I clicking on first column its redirecting to list.jspx not to details.jspx.
What can be the solution for this.

    You dont need Dynamic SQL. Your Table and Column Name are static in that query. Just use Static SQL
    SELECT SUMTOTAL
      INTO lSumTotal
      FROM tab1
    WHERE BATCHNO = gBatchNo
       AND ATM_ID  = gAtm_id
       AND LOAD_ID = gLoadId
       AND STEP_CODE = 'C_3';

  • How to set a variable value on the BPC Data Manager

    Hello BPC Experts,
    I'm creating a BPC10 NW version demo environment for our prospect customer.
    I made a data manager to import  BW data into BPC model from BW cube.
    I need to import just one month data into BPC from the BW cube that has more than one month data.
    When I run the data package manually, I can select a member of the time dimension prompt and I can import specific month data I want.
    But, in a case where the program (data manager) runs by JOB monthly,
    I can't select a member of the time dimension prompt manually.
    So I want to know how to set a  variable value to the time dimension prompt from a system date etc. automatically.
    Are there any way to set a variable value to the time dimension prompt on the data manager automatically from a system date?
    Or, do you have any other solution to import just one month data into BPC from the BW cube that has more than one month data  by the data manager running on JOB ?
    (without selecting a member of the time dimension prompt of the data package manually)
    Thanks in advance,
    Keisuke

  • How do I set a variable on the main timeline from within a symbol?

    Just getting started with Animate and coming to it from Flash, as may be apparent from my question. How do you set a variable to the main timeline from within a symbol?
    I have 24 pairs of clickable elements, each in their own symbols, and all 24 of those symbols sit inside another symbol. I want all 24 to be able to set the same global variable when clicked. I can't find that this question is addressed anywhere, which makes me think I may be stuck in a Flash mindset and approaching the task in the wrong way. (There are however MANY discussions of how to address objects at different levels in the hierarchy. That's well covered.)
    Relatedly, how do you access a function on the main timeline from within a symbol?
    Adobe should consider putting together a support page (or pages) just for folks migrating form Flash. In the materials I've encountered so far there seems to be a studied effort to refrain from mentioning Flash in any way. I imagine there are a lot of people out there like me who have a deep background in Flash coding, but are just getting started with Animate. We don't need help with most of the basic concepts, but we may still have some pretty basic questions about how to accomplish some things in Animate because our Flash knowledge is getting in the way.

    Hi Bill,
    There are plenty of threads on here about scope, but here's one way to create a global variable:
    // code on Stage.compositionReady
    sym.myGlobalVar = 1;
    Then, anywhere in your project, you can check/set that var like so:
    sym.getComposition().getStage().myGlobalVar = 2;
    And here's one way to create a global function:
    // code on Stage.compositionReady
    sym.myGlobalFunction = function(){
              console.log('myGlobalFunction');
    Then, anywhere in your project, you can call that function like so:
    sym.getComposition().getStage().myGlobalFunction();

  • How to get binding variables from request

    We are trying to use html-db to develop an application which need to get values from user request to use in the queries, i.e. we will have pages depend on several binding variables and the value of these variables will be provided by the user through get/post request. Because the request will be initialed by another application so to use a form to collect the values is not an option.
    I am a html-db newbie. Does anyone here know how to do that?

    you're right in thinking this is a bit of a newbie html db question. it's a pretty straightforward matter to set up a report in html db that runs off of bind variables that can be set from a URL. you can see a pretty simple example on the first page of our "Sample Application" that's available to install into your workspace. try taking a look at that to see what i mean. you can install the Sample Application by clicking the "Review Demonstration Applications" link that's available right after logging into htmldb.oracle.com. that resulting screen lets you create (or re-create) the Sample App in your workspace. once it's installed, take a look at how the report on page 1 calls the first report on page 201. that report on 201 is dependent on a bind variable, :P202_CATEGORY, that's set from the URL. this particular URL is generated from the report on page 1, but it could just as easily have been generated from your other application. when you look at this example, the two key points to pay attention to are the 1) syntax used in the URL to set the bind variable (which is explained in our online help at http://htmldb.oracle.com/i/doc/mvl_fund005.htm#sthref357) and 2)the way in which that bind variable is referenced in the first sql query region on page 201. take a look at those when you get a chance, and let us know if you have further questions.
    thanks,

  • How to default bind variable using session variable at run time

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where all VO queries (multiple VOs) produce only records that meet a certain value.
    For example, I have three tables with 3 VOs and each of them has a one-to-many relationship to another table (let's call it ref table and this table has a field called release). One of the 3 VOs is a parent/master table, and the other two are child tables. I created a VO for master table that linked to the ref table and created a view criteria using the release (use bind variable) field from the ref table. The other child tables have their own VO that has view criteria that also linked to ref table using the release field.
    On the UI page, I created a query component and a table from the master table VO. I also dropped the child table VOs in a tabbed panel which partial triggered by the master table. When I ran a query for a 'release' (hint: ref table value), the table for master table was filled the correct records that meet the criteria. Unfortunately, the child tables were not correct due to the query didn't use the bind variable that filter only records for the same 'release' value as the master table.
    The question is how do I 'default' or dynamically set the bind variable on the child tables based on the selection criteria from the query component. I am thinking to set a session variable from the query and use it in the bind variable in the child table, but not sure how to do it.
    Any suggestion how to do it or better solution to achieve the same effect?

    Hi,
    How about creating a custom AMImpl method, that takes parameters as required, and set the bind variables for all the desired VOs and perform executeQuery on them.
    You could expose this as client interface, and then use the method as parameter form.
    Check this thread for ex.

    How to use  v_date and m_id as bind variables in this procedure to avoid hard parsing.
    You cannot avoid hard parsing - as the 1st time a SQL statement (like the SELECT or DELETE statements in your code) is encountered, it does not reside in the server's Shared Pool, and needs to be added into the pool via a hard parse.
    Bind variables does not prevent hard parsing. Hard parsing happens when the SQL statement (with or without bind variables) is a brand new statement encountered by the server.
    Bind variables enables the same SQL cursor to be reused, by simply changing the bind variable value.
    Not using bind variables means that each SQL statement is unique and not shareable - as the value is hardcoded into the statement and cannot be changed via a bind value. This typically means LOTS of different SQL statements (where the only difference is the changed value in the statement) are created - with each statement being a new statement not seen before in the Shared Pool and needing to be hard parsed.
    One does not design one's code not to be hard parsed. There ALWAYS will be a hard parse in order to get a SQL statement into the Shared Pool. One designs one's code to REUSE cursors in the Shared Pool.

    Do you mean to say that you are overriding "execute" in the impl class? If you do this, you should call setNamedWhereClauseParam for each of your named bind variables before you call "super". But if you are doing this, I have to wonder why you are using bind variables at all instead of constants because you wind up setting the bind variables to the same thing every time you execute the query. I'd write a brand new method that CALLS "execute" after setting the bind variables. I've even written a method that sets bind variables with setNamedWhereClauseParam and DOESN'T call "execute" - it leaves the execute for another page.
    I'm also trying to understand what you mean by "all the values i m trying to set are transient variables". Maybe instead of telling us what doesn't work, you should tell us more about your use case. Tell us what it should look like to the user - what it should do, and let us give you some suggestions about how to do it.

    Hi All,
    Requirement is to set the value of bind variable of the recursive view object(DynamicTreeMenuVO1) on which my af:tree is based at run time. The value of the bind variable is coming from DynamicMenuVO1Iterator view object at run time("#{rows.displayVal}"), when I am iterating the DynamicMenuVO1Iterator using af:forEach.
    Following code is there on my jspx page:-

  • How to update bind variable and restrict values in a Model Driven LOV?

    Hi Guys,
    Using JDev 11.1.1.2.0
    I've recreated an excellent Frank Nimphius article about restricting values derived from a model driven LOV (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/44-restrict-lov-169186.pdf)
    But my bind variable isn't updating. Deleting the bind variable gets me the entire LOV. Activate the code below and insert a bind variable into the where clause like Frank says and I get nothing back. Bind variable is blank. Any ideas? Code wasn't supplied with the article. It seems simple enough but the bind variable isn't updating in the SQL, even though the updated value shows up here...
      public void onLovLaunch(LaunchPopupEvent launchPopupEvent)
        BindingContext bctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
        BindingContainer bindings = bctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
        FacesCtrlLOVBinding lov = (FacesCtrlLOVBinding)bindings.get("DepartmentId");
        lov.getListIterBinding().getViewObject().setNamedWhereClauseParam("deptId","60");
        System.out.println("lov name: " + lov.getName().toString());
        System.out.println("lov Param Attrs: " + lov.getListIterBinding().getViewObject().getNamedWhereClauseParams().getAttribute("deptId").toString());
        System.out.println("lov View Object: " + lov.getListIterBinding().getViewObject().getName().toString());
        System.out.println("lov IterBinding: " + lov.getListIterBinding().getName().toString());
       }Gets me ...
    lov name: DepartmentId
    lov Param Attrs: 60
    lov View Object: _LOCAL_VIEW_USAGE_lov_model_queries_EmployeesView_DepartmentsView
    lov IterBinding: DepartmentIdList_2

    That's a good idea, but it's still not working. Here is how I implemented it. It might be different from your suggestion as I'm still pretty new to this.
    I have a recursive tree table. You select a node. You then click a button which calls the listener below. "findParents" is a method call to the AppModuleImpl class and it finds all parent nodes of your selection. "restrictPartBomLOV", also of the AppModuleImpl class, then modifies the model driven lists' View Object (partBomLOV) to exclude those parent node values.
    The resulting model driven LOV on the popup should be updated, yeah? But it still isn't udpating. If I manually type in the updated Where clause in PartBomLOV.xml query tab, it works, but it doesn't programmatically.
      public void insertPopupFetchListener(PopupFetchEvent popupFetchEvent)
        BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
        OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("findParents");
        parents = (List)operationBinding.execute();
        operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("restrictPartBomLOV");
        operationBinding.execute();
       public void restrictPartBomLOV(List parents)
          ViewObjectImpl vo = getPartBomLOV();
          String wcl = "";
          Object[]   p = parents.toArray();
          for(int i = 0; i < p.length; i++)
             if (i == 0)
                wcl = wcl + "PNUM <> '" + p.toString() + "'";
    else
    wcl = wcl + "AND PNUM <> '" + p[i].toString() + "'";
    vo.setWhereClause(wcl);
    System.out.println(vo.getWhereClause().toString());
    vo.executeQuery();

  • How to set a variable in portal session using web dynpro java.

    Hi,
    I have created a web dynpro application, which is running inside portal. I have created a role called "R1". Inside role R1, i have created 3 workset W1, W2 and W3. and inside each workset i have some pages and iviews.
    My requirement is when user logins to the portal , and when he clicks on role R1 for the first time, a login page should come (so that we can do revalidation), and when he enters his password again in that login page , then only workset W1, W2 and W3 should be visible/accessible to him and after successful revalidation, if he clicks again on role R1, in that particular portal session, than that login page should not come.
    for this, i thought i will set a variable in portal session, whenever user successfully revalidated himself, and if after successful revalidation he clicks again on role R1, i will check in doinit method of webdynpro whether variable is set or not (which i already set on successful revalidation), and if it is set then i will do Donavigation else i will present login page to the user.
    Can anyone tells me how to set a variable in portal session using web dynpro java.
    thanks
    Arush

    Hi,
    Try this:
    WDScopeUtil.put(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE, key, value)
    WDScopeUtil.get(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE, key)
    Ex:
    WDScopeUtil.put(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE,"Key1","Value1");
    String value1=WDScopeUtil.get(WDScopeType.CLIENTSESSION_SCOPE,"Key1").toString();
