How to know/predict the HTML IDs generated on the dashboard??

I examined the HTML code for this prompt, and for Year drop down it looks like:

My main point of interest is about the id="saw_22_6"
Now i have 4 questions:
How is it generated?
Is it generated by SAW server?
Is there any way that I can predict that ID?
Is there any way that I can force the server to put my own value into that ID?

Hie.
I launch IE manually, then I launch my application. I know, that's not very effective. But that's the only way I've found to launch specifically IE6 when several versions or browsers are installed. By the way, any suggestions to improve this is welcome !
Thanks for the idea of writing a proxy, I'll seek the web to learn how to do, since it's the first time I'll write such a component but I think that's a very good idea.
This suggestion raised another question in my mind: Is that possible to launch a java application as a service ? I'll look after that seeking the web, but if you tell me it's impossible, that will for sure shorten my job.

Is there any property for that? Or Do I need to compare the Content type Id's at Site collection level and Library level?

Hi Ashok,
For a content type, there is an attribute called Inherits, the value of this attribute determines whether the content type inherits fields from its parent content type when it is created.
If Inherits is TRUE, the child content type inherits all fields that are in the parent, including fields that users have added.
If Inherits is FALSE or absent and the parent content type is a built-in type, the child content type inherits only the fields that were in the parent content type when SharePoint Foundation was
installed. The child content type does not have any fields that users have added to the parent content type.

I just discovered this by mistake.
Select the picture you want as background, and in the Services menu (or contextual menu) choose "Set Desktop Picture". Then immediately switch into the Dashboard while this command is being processed.
I was trying to change my regular desktop but discovered this changed the Dashboard background instead. I presume it is because Dashboard is considered a Space and different Spaces can have different Desktops.

The documentation at http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/deploying/upgrading.html under "STANDALONE (QUICKSTART) UPGRADE" step 3 says that the upgrade process "might take a few minutes". How do we know when the system has been started successfully? When monitoring the error.log file, it looks like that after a while (~20 minutes) an upgrade of the workflow models is started (even though step 4 says that workflow models will be upgraded after a restart). Might there be any problems with stopping the server to soon?
So, to summarize: how do we know when the server has been started successfully?

In the error.log you would see message like "Finished upgrading". Alternatively you would see 5 completed task in crx explorer at location /var/upgrade/status

I don't think this is the easiest way to look at the code around a particular field on the screen. Debugging standard programs also can be very tedious, if not impossbile. So, instead of this question, I would like to find out exactly what you want to do if you know the code.
If you are in a transaction and you want to know where the code of a particular field is, the fastest way to get to it is by pressing the F1 key on the field and then press the Technical info button on the help screen. In here you will typically see the same kind of information but it is very specific to the field you selected.
PROGRAM(SCREEN) tells you which program is manipulating the main screen, in which your field is embedded. Remember your field may be included in a sub-screen and that subscreen may be the one included in the main screen.
PROGRAM(SUB SCREEN) tells you which program is directly responsible for the field on the subscreen it is included in. This is where you should find the code most appropriate for the field, but not necessarily.
PROGRAM(GUI) controls how your push buttons and the menu options in the screen behave and controlled.

How i know if the row inserted in a document is by user or by wizard

I have a trouble to know if the inserted row is by the user or by the draw document wizard? This happens when i´m creating a document and i use 'copy from'.
Exist a way to know this? I see that the wizard typeex is "425". I can catch the event when the finish button is pressed but with that i don´t know how many row pass to document. I can read the lines of the matrix wizard and put a counter but i think this is botched job.

If I have understood you correct, you want to know, whether a document raw is added by using 'Copy from' functionality or by adding individual items to form. if yes, then you can always check the column 'Base type' . make it visible from form settings. it will always have value if it is coming from other document ( or as u said, from 'wizard' or by doing 'Copy from'.)

DMS- How to know that the documents are attached??

Hello Guys,
This is pertaining to DMS,
We attach documents and link it to various object links.
Later when we get into that transaction we retrive the attached documents.
Suppose i attached the DIR to MARA (in object links) , and until i forcely go to document data in T code MM02 i cant know that documents are attached.....??
My question is how any one will know that the documents are linked thru DMS to Various object links in those transactions.
Is my question is valid......just put your comments...

But i think i should be still precise little bit more....
Just consider a situation where u have 2 users ....A & B,both are in different location.just imagine user B dont have any contact to(from) User A
User A: creates the various document info record and attach to Material master .
User B is working in another plant . How user B will know that to this material documents are attached,
He(USER B) should have already got the information that documents are attached else he should go and check document data Tab forcing himself......
I felt that every time user has to check as a practice if any documents are attached thru Tab EXTRA'S but this may be critical...not every one will do that....some time u may forget to check the presence.
Is my question valid......??!?!?
