How to launch a 2nd browser window

Hi,
Have a Flex application and need to launch a 2nd browser
window that would contain a help system for the application. Then
the application user can view the two browser windows side (the
application) by side (help system).
How can this be done in Flex?

Hi,
If you need to launch the window with certain params (like
x,y and size) you can use ExternalInterface to call a javascript
function that will launch a custom window.
If you just want a new window to open, you can use
NavigateToURL:

Not launching in new browser window?

I have setup a Flash viewer in a HTML Div container. In the Flash I have put a button which, when clicked, launches a new browser window with another site I've done to appear in.
When I test this in Flash its working fine and launches the new window as it should.
But when I go into Dreamweaver where I have placed the Swf. in the Div container, I test it locally in a Firefox browser window. The viewer appears and it works correctly, but when I click the button to launch the new browser window it just opens a window with an error msg 'unable to connect, etc'.
Any idea why this wont work? Is it because it needs to be live (online)?

What is the link that you are trying to open.
Please check if you have placed the protocol - like this http://www.xmy.com" format
and used "_blank" as target in navigateToURL API.

Is your problem resolved or you're still having problem with download BlackBerry world !
If you're having problem then just peform a Battery pull restart by removing the battery while your device is Powered On, wait for a min. then reinsert it back after reboot please try it again.

How can I keep the browser window stretched across my two displays?

I run am trying to run dual monitor setup and have the Firefox browser span the two monitors. Whenever a Firefox dialog opens, such as Preferences or Print, the window zooms to fit the one primary monitor. How can I keep the browser window stretched across my two displays?

I think this is what you mean any way hope it helps.
open the .html file in text edit for the page you want to change. then look for
<title>whatever your title is</title>
and just change the text whatever your title is for whatever you want. the line of code is located at the top of the page under the line that reads
<meta name="Generator" content="iWeb 1.1.2" />

Full Screen mode cancelled by launching PDF in Browser Window

There are quite a few of these posts on here. After Flash 9
the fullscreen fscommand no longer retains its fullscreen display
if you use getURL to launch a browser window to display either a
web page or a PDF. All of the previous posts have been "answered"
by the Flash Jester Jugglor Support Team, unashamedly plugging
JSTART and JUGGLOR to everyone raising this issue. When all we
really need is a response from Adobe on how we can fix this -
because it's obviously a BUG - and serves no real purpose.
I DON'T want to buy JUGGLOR, I tried it years ago and found
it buggy and unfathomable. All I want is to be able to keep my
fullscreen!
The cynic in me wonders whether FlashJester might be owned by
Adobe in some way, and by introducing this bug they're hoping to
raise additional revenue from selling all those copies of
JUGGLOR....?

most likely the example you got has a flaw, I've created a
few flex apps, and the work fine on full screen using ie6 or ie7 or
firefox. Try debugging it so you'll figure out what's the
issue

Safari 3.1 launches but no browser window

Hello there, I accidently updated my safari 3.0.4 to 3.1 during my last software update. When I launched Safari I only got the menubar but no browser window. I've read about 3.1 causing a lot of trouble that's why I never wanted to install it. So far, I've checked permissions, trashed Safari 3.1 and the safari31pkg and emptied cache. I've copied over a 3.0.4 version from another machine but that won't give me back my browser window. How can I fix this without losing all my usernames?
The machine involved is a G4/733 running 10.4.11 and latest security update.

Go to these 2 locations to see if you have any 3rd party extensions and move anything present in them onto your Desktop to deactivate them:
Hard drive -> Users -> YourUsername -> Library -> InputManagers
Hard drive -> Library -> InputManagers
Restart Safari to pick up the change. If it works now, you can try moving the items back one by one until you find the culprit.
If that doesn't work, one quick test you can do to help narrow down things is to try Safari in another user account.
This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+\] to create a test one (and \[-\] to remove it if needed)

How do I get a browser window in firefox

I have just downloaded firefox on my Galaxy note and have no idea how to use it. I expect to open the firefox app and see a browser window so I can just put in a search quickly. I have no menu or search bar, just the start page which has a shortcut to a search bar but not a browser screen.
I don't expect it to be the same as ie but when I open ie it starts in a browser window ready to search.

What exactly should my ' Firefox window' look like? Mine has the Set up firefox sync aswell as bookmarks for firefox help pages. There is also a small link that says 'browse all your favourite sites'

Want to play WOW-how do i make the browser windows fill whole screen??

Have been a pc user all my life and just got a MacBook Pro. When i used to connect to the internet the browser window would fill the whole screen. This may seem like a stupid question but how do i make this happen on the mac? And to do the same for things like iMovie maker etc. My son says world of warcraft needs to be played on the whole screen and not just in a small box.
Have tried adjusting the display etc but that makes things look distorted. Is there another way? Help!

Press Cmd+M if you want to play it in full screen mode. If you want a bigger window for windowed mode just drag the little thngy at the bottom right of your WoW window and you will be able to resize it. Hope this helps

How to open a new browser window without toolbar, location, and menu bars from AIR?

I have the following problem in my Flex+AIR application. I need to embed an ActiveX component that has JavaScript API inside my application. I tried to embed it inside <mx:HTML> component but unfortunately, AIR doesnot support plug-ins or ActiveX controls. So I've decided to open it in a new browser window. I tried navigateToURL(...) method but it has two problems - it is opening a new tab in the existing browser window and there is no way for me to configure the new browser window appearance, like removing toolbar, menu bar, location bar, etc. Then I tried to open a new window from JavaScript running inside <mx:HTML> component using window.open(...) API but it doesn't open a new window at all.
Is there any way for me to open a new browser window without toolbar, location bar, etc. (which will run ActiveX control, so it cannot be AIR window) from inside AIR?
