I want to learn JSP to develop website. I am student of NIIT and have very good knowledge about core JAVA to develop desktop application. I have knowledge about fundamental with OOPS. During my course I learn very basic about JSP.
Right now, I am working with web development company as an SEO manager and dealing with websites like eCommerce or big B2B or B2C portals.
I have 3 years and 8 months experience in SEO but want to learn JSP which help me to develop website on JSP.
How can I quick start with it? And, How much time will it take to learn JSP?

I think the best JSP book out there is Hans Bergsten's JSP book from O'Reilly. It has you using JSTL right from the first example, which is the right way to do JSPs IMO.
Tomcat runs on Windows. You don't need Linux.

How to level up ABAP developing?

Dear everyone,
As your seen my subject, I am anxious to level up my ABAP developing skills.
It has passed 5 months since I learned ABAP program developing.
I learned ABAP fundamental skills include type definition,data object definition,control flow,subroutine and function module.
I also developed some reports.
But my major job is not developing R/3 pgm by ABAP.
I will only be demanded to support ABAP developing team when the team lacks of developers or when the programs need be developped are so much.
But I don't know when the time would come.

If you are working in any object oriented language there is nothing much to do for you..Since ABAP is an Event-Driven language you should be thorough with the way of programming.May be you can watch SDN whenever u r getting time to know all the common problems that occuring in ABAP..Also you can find a lot of material to update your knowledge whnever you required.But My suggestion is, at least weekly once you should go through some materials, if no time you can watch SDN.Below you can see some common links..Go through the material according to your requirment whenever get time....

How do I access my iWeb website when I no longer have the original iWeb program it was published with?

Last Fall, my '06 iMac was vandalized and destroyed unexpectedlyl. Since then, I have'nt been able to access my only website, which was published through iWeb. My new iMac does not have iWeb.
How can I access my main website published through the old iWeb? I must transfer my domain name/site to a new web host and build a new site. My website is out of date and must be updated/replaced asap. Please help.

To edit your website, you need the domain.sites file iWeb uses to store its assets.
You also need iWeb.
If the file is missing and you have no backup, you'll have to start from scratch.
Perhaps you still have the iLife install disks.

How do you Design and Develop?
I know this varies based on alot of things such as knowledge, preference, purpose, resources, etc..but I am curious how different (level of expertise) designers actually prefer or implement their websites. I decided to do this post after two different forums discussions regarding 1.Templates and PHP and 2. Backend Development.
1. How do you generally approach a project?--Wireframe, Freehand (as it comes), PSD template, etc.--Do you have a specific 'methodology' or procedure?
2. What are 2-3 of your main resources / sites / applications etc that you use (and for what?)
Specifically: What do you use (and how) to get up a website? (I know again this depends on a variety of things, but in general..) *also if you would like to comment on your expertise or level maybe helpful.
Do you prefer (Pros/ Cons of:) What advice would you give regarding below?
Your own HTML/CSS/Script based site that you mostly (if not completley) built. (More control and original, but harder / tedious for beginner)
HTML Temlplate (tweak the HTML and CSS)--non framework type (Quick and easy, but usually poor quality, outdated?)--but some can servde as good starting point.
Wordpress (And others like Drupal, Joomla) (Somewhat quick and easy access to tweak a quality WP Theme with ability for alot of features--forms, search, databases, etc (otherwise might have trouble with advanced features w/o good working knowledge og PHP and MYSQL, maybe others?)--but kind of a 'workaround' for real HTML design?
Frameworks types like Foundation, Bootstrap, Skeleton
A combination or hybrid of methods? -- or another method I have overlooked?

The websites I build are 95% PHP/MySQL. They are heavy on business logic. I sometimes work with designers, SEO "experts" and (rarely) other coders. I almost never work on the content of websites. The clients do that themselves through the CMS I build for them.
I write every line of code myself except for the use of jQuery and a few PHP code classes adapted from others. I can build a complex website in a matter of minutes by reusing the code libraries and patterns I have developed from previous projects.
I don't use a PHP framework because I have developed my own "pseudo-framework" for the particular kinds of sites I build, but I respect the frameworks that are out there. They can teach you excellent coding habits.
In starting the design and logic of a site, the most essential question is: What is the website (or website project) supposed to accomplish? My clients tell me what they want to accomplish, but I usually decide how to get there. This holds for both business logic and design, because design also must serve the business objectives.
My website projects generally take four months to two years to complete. The client usually dedicates one employee to work as a liaison between me and the rest of the company. Because the sites I build are heavy on the business logic, a great deal of time is spent on testing and debugging. I make testing the responsibility of the client so I can't be held liable if, for instance, a terrible accounting mistake is discovered in the code logic.
I like to use Adobe Illustrator for design development because I became an Adobe Illustrator ACE in 2000; however, I can see that Fireworks is probably the better tool. Photoshop is an important secondary tool.
For general site management and code writing I use both Dreamweaver and ZEND Studio; however, I use Dreamweaver less and less.
I now require all my clients to have their websites (and also domain name registrations, since my company is a domain name reseller) hosted on my VPS server. This prevents anyone from stealing code I have worked for years to develop and also establishes a commitment between myself and the client. When you are starting a web development business, you can't demand this kind of commitment from the client. Even a lot of great seasoned developers can't. It depends on your reputation within the specific industry(ies) you service.

How to import jsp file in other jsp file

I am using JSP for a website and my database is in Oracle. I want to connect to Oracle database in one jsp file such as connection .jsp.
Then I want to use this same connection in all the jsp files by importing the jsp file. (I know in Core java we can do this by import statement e.g. import connection.java) but how can I do this in jsp. whwn i am importing connection.jsp using <%@ page import=connection.jsp%> It is showing errors.
Plz help me. It's very urgent.

How to compile JSP in release 12.1.1?

Hi,
We are having this problem currently after upgrading from 12.0.6 to 12.1.1 whereby this jsp page developed in 12.0.6 is not reflecting correctly. After making changes, the jsp was compiled by the following command:
/DV1_u14/appDV1/apps/apps_st/appl/fnd/12.0.0/patch/115/bin/ojspCompile.pl --compile -s '<file_name>.jsp'
However, after the said is done and the oa is restarted, it seems that nothing is reflecting at all when this jsp is evoked.
Can someone please advice??

Can you reproduce the issue with other files?
What if you enable Automatic compilation of JSP files (Note: 458338.1 - How to Enable Automatic Compilation of JSP pages in R12), can you still reproduce the issue?

You need to be a little clearer in what you're asking.
You can't make any web site in SQL Server - it's a database engine, not a website tool.
What you can do is create web sites that pull data from a back-end SQL Server, but the SQL server doesn't handle the client connection at all (that's handled by a web server such as Apache, IIS, or similar).
There are many ways to build such a site including .NET, PHP, Perl and more (although I don't know all the options for Windows servers because they're not as common outside of corporate/enterprise networks).
In either case, given your choice of development language (HTML, plus one of the PHP/Perl/.NET/etc. options), plus your database (SQL Server) plus your web server (IIS, Apache, etc.) you can make any web site you like (or, at least, you're capable of developing).
If you want to opimize that web site for iPhones then there are many references on how mobile browsing differs from the desktop. I'd recommend this book as a reference (and, yes, I understand the irony of linking to a paperback book for web design guidance ). Googling mobile web design (or iPhone web design) might yield more results.

I want to learn as fast as possible, but i really want to learn good JSP... so i give more importance on the content than just learning basics in 3 days.

i don't think you could ever protect the jsp code and it wouldn't do you much good to bother anyway, since anyone with a browser can just "View Source" and see all the HTML on the page anyway.
the only thing you would want to protect is your java source. you don't have to distribute the .java files with your application, just the .class's. you could try and obfuscate the .class files, but a determined person will always be able to reverse it back to a .java program and read it. it would take a bit of work and knowhow though, so figure out how smart the consumer is going to be and if they will be able to figure out how to reverse .class files back to .java

It's only my way of understanding about InDesign SDK : * SDK objects are know as 'boss(es)' and are accessed thru interfaces. * You can imagine object as collection of interfaces. And you can even aggregate new interfaces to existing objects. * When you have a reference to an interface of a boss, you can access other interfaces (of the same boss - or object) using the *amazing* syntax : (here, doc is a probably an IDocument interface on a kDocBoss object, and you want to access it's IClassIDData interface) InterfacePtr<IClassIDData> orgDocFileHandlerData(doc, IID_ORGICLASSIDDATA); * And finally, InterfacePtr has a reference counter, which allows the framework to destroy the interface object - not the boss of course, only the memory used by the object - when it's non mre referenced.
