How to list top 10 biggest files?

Hi Friends,
In OEL 5.4
I have seen a script before that will list the top 10 biggest file by size(bytes) in linux. But i forgot where I saved it :(
Can you help me find the link about it please.
Thanks a lot,
Ms K

How to do this -- and many other common system administration tasks -- is listed for both Solaris & OEL in a new OTN Wiki called "OTN Solaris-Linux Command Comparo".
You can access the Wiki at:
https://wikis.sun.com/display/OTNTaskFinder/CommandComparo+Home
Note that you need to register for Oracle Wiki site access first.
As posted in the OTN Garage on Facebook, we're looking for feedback on this site. Please see:

for more info.
Enjoy,
G.

    How to list the JAR files loaded into the Oracle Database ?

    From 11.1 onwards, the below two views are available to identify the jar files loaded into the Database.
    JAVAJAR$
    JAVAJAROBJECTS$
    By querying the JAVAJAR$ view you can know information about the JAR files loaded into the Database and using JAVAJAROBJECTS$ view you can find all the java objects associated with the given JAR file.
    These views are populated everytime you use LOADJAVA with "-jarsasdbobjects" option to load your custom java classes.
    But unfortunately this feature is available only from 11.1 onwards and there is no clear workaround for above in 10.2 or earlier.

  • How to list all the files in a FTP site?

    I am now using LV7.1 and trying to list all the files (with file name, file size and modified date) on both a local drive and a remote FTP site. I can manage to do on a local drive, but is it possible to list the files on a FTP site?
    Thanks,
    Cola

    Listing files on a local drive and listing the contents of an ftp site are two different things. Access to an ftp site uses a totally different protocol. Off the top of my head, you have a few options:
    Use a third-party tool that can map an ftp drive to a local drive letter. WebDrive is one such client. Note: I'm assuming Windows here.
    Use the Intenet Toolkit.
    Use the LabVIEW TCP/IP functions to write up your own ftp client to connect to the server, change to the desired directory, and send the command to list the contents, which you can parse and spit out as a nice little array of filenames. Check the LabVIEW examples, as I believe there's some examples on this. You should also search this board for "ftp client", as this has been brought up before, and samples have been posted.

  • How to list RAW movie files?

    Currently iPhoto is not listing on my Movies smart album all my .mov files. If I click in one .mov, iPhoto shows as RAW. How can I create a Smart album to see all my movies?
    Still, how can I create a Smart Folder on finder that shows my .MOV files that are in iPhoto? I've tried to create one, but even the files are there, they are not listed in the createria.

    Where did the xmp files come from, ie. what app have they already been in?
    What is the file extension?
    Can the files be recognised in preview or any other program.
    Should not make a difference but have your tried moving the folder to anther location other than the desktop, I have imported many images from the desktop so would doubt this, but need to cover all bases.
    Can you drag the folder from the desktop into Aperture?
    Have fiels been renamed since coming from the camera?
    Can you rename a single file and see if AP sees it?
    Took me a few lines but I think I have the answer, given they are from a 20D and 40D are the files Canon sRAW? If so they are not compatible with Aperture!

  • How to list all files in a given directory?

    How to list all the files in a given directory?

    A possible recursive algorithm for printing all the files in a directory and its subdirectories is:
    Print the name of the directory
    for each file in the directory:
    if the file is a directory:
    Print its contents recursively
    else
    Print the name of the file.
    Directory "games"
    blackbox
    Directory "CardGames"
    cribbage
    euchre
    tetris
    The Solution
    This program lists the contents of a directory specified by
    the user. The contents of subdirectories are also listed,
    up to any level of nesting. Indentation is used to show
    the level of nesting.
    The user is asked to type in a directory name.
    If the name entered by the user is not a directory, a
    message is printed and the program ends.
    import java.io.*;
    public class RecursiveDirectoryList {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    String directoryName; // Directory name entered by the user.
    File directory; // File object referring to the directory.
    TextIO.put("Enter a directory name: ");
    directoryName = TextIO.getln().trim();
    directory = new File(directoryName);
    if (directory.isDirectory() == false) {
    // Program needs a directory name. Print an error message.
    if (directory.exists() == false)
    TextIO.putln("There is no such directory!");
    else
    TextIO.putln("That file is not a directory.");
    else {
    // List the contents of directory, with no indentation
    // at the top level.
    listContents( directory, "" );
    } // end main()
    static void listContents(File dir, String indent) {
    // A recursive subroutine that lists the contents of
    // the directory dir, including the contents of its
    // subdirectories to any level of nesting. It is assumed
    // that dir is in fact a directory. The indent parameter
    // is a string of blanks that is prepended to each item in
    // the listing. It grows in length with each increase in
    // the level of directory nesting.
    String[] files; // List of names of files in the directory.
    TextIO.putln(indent + "Directory \"" + dir.getName() + "\":");
    indent += " "; // Increase the indentation for listing the contents.
    files = dir.list();
    for (int i = 0; i < files.length; i++) {
    // If the file is a directory, list its contents
    // recursively. Otherwise, just print its name.
    File f = new File(dir, files);
    if (f.isDirectory())
    listContents(f, indent);
    else
    TextIO.putln(indent + files[i]);
    } // end listContents()
    } // end class RecursiveDirectoryList

    I have a long list of gibberish files, in Preferences, in my Library. What are they? How did they get there? Can I delete them without causing a problem?

    Here is one thing I found googling for WebEx:
    http://www.webex.com/why-webex/overview.html
    (The x64 would most likely mean 64 bit). It may be a Windows based application/plugin, but since I had never heard of either, I'm only guessing there. If you do a search systemwide for it and don't find it plus don't know why it's there, I'd say throw it in the trash (don't empty it yet - make a note of the file path just in case you do have something installed that needs it so you can move it back).
    Glad to hear it's not a torrent; some people use those not realizing that quite often there is a price to pay for downloading stuff for free that costs money elsewhere - the software packages quite often include little "add-ons" = malware which you really don't want.

  • How to list all files in directories

    Here's what I'd like to do, and I know there's a genius on this forum that knows the answer:
    Let's say I burn a disc with lots of folders and files. How could I see a list of all those folders with their included files in one easy to read place? Like, could I go to Terminal and list the contents of the disc in kind of a directory tree sorta layout that could be copied to a text document?
    I have several dozen discs of data I've burned over the years, and when I want to find a certain file, I have to open the disc and manually click thru all the folders to see their contents until I find what I'm looking for. I'd like to make an "index" of each disc so I can find things faster, or better, list the folders/files in a text file I could save, 1 per burned disc. Does this make sense. Is this do-able?

    That works pretty sweet, too. As with other techniques, a lot of output to filter thru, hard on the eyes, might kill a printer, I dunno. As far as the output itself... what is this command asking for, in English, like, "Ms. Terminal application: please list ..." What? (the " -lR part)
    And the results:
    /Users/rob/Desktop/Websites/ARP-new content,May 2008/arp new ens/new vert en:
    total 752
    -rw-r--r-- 1 rob rob 48593 Jun 3 16:28 608v1_en.jpg
    What's the "total 752" mean?
    What's the "1" in front of the "rob rob" part?
    Apparently the date only shows the year if it's other than this year?
    I noticed Terminal doesn't like spaces in path names, like "/Users/rob/Desktop/My Best Folder Ever",
    should I rename everything like "MyBest_FolderEver", or is there a workaround for name spaces? Just some curiosity. Do you know of a concise, easy to digest guide to commands in the Terminal? It's something I'd like to learn more about. And thanks for the DIRECT answer to my original post.

  • How to read list of all files in folder on application server?

    How to read list of all files in folder on application server?

    Hi,
    First get the files in application server using the following function module.
        CALL FUNCTION 'RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL'
          EXPORTING
            name     = loc_fdir
          TABLES
            file_tbl = int_filedir.
    Here loc_fdir contains the application server path.
    int_filedir contains all the file names in that particular path.
    Now loop at int_filedir.
    OPEN DATASET int_filedir-name FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING  DEFAULT MESSAGE wf_mess.
    MESSAGE wf_mess.
        IF sy-subrc = 0.
          DO.
            READ DATASET pa_sfile INTO wf_string.
            IF sy-subrc <> 0.
              EXIT.
    endif.
    close datset int_filedir-name.
    endloop.

    Hi lasersrq,
    What a great question! There is no functionality that allows you to print a list the files you've sent via Adobe Send (or SendNow).
    Please feel free to submit a feature request--it's a good idea! https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&loc=en
