How to load multiple (2 or more) target tables simultaneously?

Hi,
I have a requirement where I have to load 2 target tables simultaneously. Reason same primary key value has to be loaded at both the targets.
For eg:
Source table:
col1, col2, col3, col4, col5.... col20
Target 1:
T1C1=unique value from seq1
T1C2=col1
T1C3=col2
T1C9=col8
Target 2:
T2C1=same value as inserted above from seq1
T2C2=col9
T2C3=col10
T2C4=col11
T2C13=col20
Any response is highly appreciated.
Thanks for your time in advance.

Hi, please, call me Cezar! :D
OK, that is a overview guide, are you confident to go thru KM customizing? If not, let me know.
1) For achieve that I figured out to use the UD's (UD1..UD5) fields from interface
2) Create 2 news option at IKM like: TABLE_UD1 and TABLE_UD2
3) change the KM code (C$ and I$) for generate code for each column group (UD1 and UD2 update and insert code). The I$ must have all columns.
4) at Interface level you will drag and drop both target tables at source, right-click on each one and add it to the target as temp table.
5) drop the targets from source area
6) for each group of columns from Target1 and target2 check the columns as UD1 and UD2 respectively and the sequence must be checked as UD1 and UD2 because it is common to the both target table.
7) add the real sources and create all mapping.
8) now just go to the Flow table and put the correspondent table name at each option. You should use an ODI API to get the right schema when change the context to production.
I just describe the general architecture once the technical implementation needs KM customize knowledge.
Make any sense and/or help you?

  • Loading multiple files into a target table parallely

    Hi
    We are building an interface to load from flat files to an Oracle table. The input can be more than one files all of th same format. I have created a variable for the flat file data store. I have created 2 packages
    In package 1
    I have put odi file wait to trigger whenever files come into the directory . The list of files is written to a metadata table table. A procedure is triggered which picks a record from the metadata table and calls the scenario for calls package 2 by passing the selected record as parameter.
    In package 2
    The variable value is set to the parameter passed from package 1 procedure
    The interface runs to load the flat file = to the variable value into the target table
    Now if the directory has more than one flat file , the procedure in package 1 calls the package 2 scenario more than one times. This causes sequential load from each flat file to the target table. Is there a way wherein the multiple flat files can be loaded in parallel to the same target table? At this point ,I am not sure if this is possible as there is only one interface and one variable for the source file

    As per your requirement , your process seems to be always continues like a loop[ reason being as you have mentiond - I dont want to wait for all files to come in. As soon as a file comes in the file has to be loaded.  ] .
    You can solve the issue of file capture using OdiFileWait to let you know when the files have arrived.
    Tell me this what do you plan to when the File loading is complete, will that be in the same folder and when new files come will that update with the same name or different name , becuase irresptive of same file or different if the files are present in the same folder after loading into target , then we might do repetitive loading of files. Please tell me how do you plan to handle this.
    When you have plan to use LKM file to sql , what is the average number of source records coming into each sample files. ?
    Just to add to above question , what is the average numner of parallel loads you are expecting and what is the time interval between each paralled loading you are expecting.

  • How to load data into 3 different target tables usin BODS ?

    Hello Friends,
    I have 5 different source tables with same field definitions, Now I want to load all the records into three/four different target tables (Flat file, SQL Server, XML, and Oracle ) Could anyone please tell me how to do this task ?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Bheem.

    Hello Bheem,
    You can create separated dataflow for each target as suggested by Bala, this is a good choice when evaluating you scenario.
    If you put all targets in the same dataflow you may experience problems if one of them is down (as you have different servers as targets).
    BODS will send the data simultaneously to all targets and when one fails, the load will be break and you may have the tables not sinc anyways (if you plan to use a single dataflow to avoid this situation, it won't do it).
    So the best option is to create separated dataflow and put inside another one so you can run a singe dataflow that will call each one of the target and if onw fails the other will complete accordingly.
    Then if you put them inside a error trapping, you may even make your dataflow to retry the load prior abend the job.
    Think about cascading your dataflows and let the leaf level simple as it can be so it will be easier to schedule and debug your process.
    Pay attention to datatypes and other conversions you might need when working with more than one source/target.

  • How to load Matrix report data into basic table data using ODI

    Hi,
    How to load Matrix report data into basic table data using oracle Data Integrator ?
    Requirement Description:
    Following is the matrix report data:
    JOB                       DEPT10                DEPT20
    ANALYST                                           6000
    CLERK                   1300                     1900 Need to convert it into below format:
    JOB                             Dept                        Salary
    ANALYST                  DEPT10
    ANALYST                  DEPT20                     6000
    CLERK                       DEPT10                    1300
    CLERK                       DEPT20                    1900
        Thanks for your help in advance. Let me know if any further explanation is required.

    Your list seems to be a little restrictive, you can do a lot more with ODI procedures.
    If you create new procedure, and add a step. In the 'command on source' tab set you technology and schema as per your source database. Use the unpivot functionality as described in the link, please, rather than using 'SELECT *' use the appropriate column names and alias them for eg:
    SELECT job as job,
    deptsal as deptsal,
    saldesc as saledesc
    FROM pivoted_data
    UNPIVOT (
    deptsal --<-- unpivot_clause
    FOR saldesc --<-- unpivot_for_clause
    IN (d10_sal, d20_sal, d30_sal, d40_sal) --<-- unpivot_in_clause
    Then in your 'command on target' tab set the technology and schema to your target db, then put your INSERT statement for eg:
    INSERT INTO job_sales
    (job,
    deptsal,
    saledesc
    VALUES
    :job,
    :deptsal,
    :saledesc
    Therefore you are using bind variables from source to load data into target.
    Obviously if the source and target table are in the same database, then you can have it all in one statement in the 'command on target' as
    INSERT INTO job_sales
    (job,
    deptsal,
    saledesc
    SELECT job as job,
    deptsal as deptsal,
    saldesc as saledesc
    FROM pivoted_data
    UNPIVOT (
    deptsal --<-- unpivot_clause
    FOR saldesc --<-- unpivot_for_clause
    IN (d10_sal, d20_sal, d30_sal, d40_sal) --<-- unpivot_in_clause
    also set the log counter as 'Insert' on the tab where your INSERT statement is, so you know how many rows you insert into the table.
    Hope this helps.
    BUT remember that this feature only came out in Oracle 11g.

  • How to load multiple target tables simultaneously in single interface?

    I have a requirement where I have to load data into two target tables in single interface simultaneously. Reason is to populate parent-child relationship on target side as it is coming from the source side.
    For eg: I have 2 headers and 10 corresponding lines in source. Now I want load 2 headers into T1 and 10 lines into T2 simultaneously.
    Eg. SOURCE_TABLE
    HeaderId HeaderDesc LineId LineDesc
    1 AAA 10 QQQ
    1 AAA 20 WWW
    2 BBB 30 ZZZ
    2 BBB 10 XXX
    TARGET_TABLES:
    TARGET_HEADER
    HeaderId HeaderDesc
    1 AAA
    2 BBB
    TARGET_LINE
    HeaderId LineId LineDesc
    1 10 QQQ
    1 20 WWW
    2 30 ZZZ
    2 10 XXX
    I would appreciate if anyone can provide solution in this scenario.

    Hi Giri,
    Let me try to build an example... If I misunderstood your requirement please, let me know!
    1) Source table Tab_S
    create table Tab_S as (cs1 number, cs2 varchar2(10))
    2) Table Parent (P)
    create table Tab_P as (cp1 number, cp2 varchar2(10))
    3) Table Child (C)
    create table Tab_C as (cc1 number, cc2 varchar2(10), cp1 number)
    4) Function F$_Tab_C (create it in a ODI procedure)
    4.1 - step 1
    Create or Replace
    Function F$_Tab_C (p_cp2 varchar2, p_cc1 number,p_cc2 varchar2, cp_cp1 number) return varchar2 as
    begin
    insert into Tab_C (cc1, cc2, cp1)
    values (p_cc1, p_cc2, p_cp1);
    return p_cp2;
    end;
    associate this step to an procedure option like "Create_Function"
    4.2 - step 1
    Drop Function F$_Tab_C
    associate this step to an procedure option like "Drop_Function"
    4.3 - Step 2
    Disable the FK constraint and parent and child
    associate this step to an procedure option like "Disable_Constraint"
    4.4 - Step 3
    Enable the FK constraint
    associate this step to an procedure option like "Enable_Constraint"
    5) ODI interface:
    Source: Tab_S
    Target: Tab_P
    Mapping:
    cp1 ---> cs1
    cp2 ---> F$_Tab_C(cs2, 123, 'abc', cp1)
    6) ODI Package with all flow:
    6.1 - Drag and drop the procedure and put the options:
    "Create_Function" yes
    "Disable_Constraint" yes
    "Drop_Function" no
    "Enable_Constraint" no
    6.2 - Drag and drop the interface
    6.3 - Drag and drop the procedure (again) and put the options:
    "Create_Function" no
    "Disable_Constraint" no
    "Drop_Function" yes (optional, can let as NO if you wish)
    "Enable_Constraint" yes
    These are the necessary steps.... Maybe there is some syntax error because I build all in a notepad and do not compiled it in the DB. It is just to show you the general idea.
    Maybe you can be a little afraid about disable the FK but it is OK because you can guarantee the relationship by logic (funcion).
    The only point is that you must be the only one working at the target tables during the process.
    Make any sense in your case?

  • How to load multiple flat files

    Hi,
    I am new to ODI 10, I have one requirement where I need load flat files containing the folder size11GB.
    I want to load them all in a single instances with using of single data server, single physical schema and single logical schema.
    How can we do this.
    Also to execute this in package what steps and precautions do we need to follow.
    Thx

    Is the data in your files the same format?
    If so, simply follow one of the many guides to looping around files that use a common structure to load them, you can do this in parallel if you want.

  • How to load multiple HTML5 canvas on the same page (the proper method)

    Hi,
    I've been struggling to load multiple canvas animations on the same page. At the beggining I thought that exporting the movies with different namespaces and reloading the libraries in a sequential flow might work, but it doesn't. It always loads just the last animation loaded. More info here: Coding challenge: what am I doing wrong?
    Here is a sample of what I'm doing:
    1st: Publish two flash movies with custom namespaces for "lib" set in the "publish settings": "libFirst" and "libSecond".
    2nd: Edit the canvas tags in the HTML page. One called "firstCanvas" and the other one called "secondCanvas"
    3rd: Edit the javascript like this:
            <script>
                // change the default namespace for the CreateJS libraries:
                var createjsFirst = createjsFirst||{};
                var createjs = createjsFirst;
            </script>
            <script src="//code.createjs.com/easeljs-0.7.1.min.js"></script>
            <script src="//code.createjs.com/tweenjs-0.5.1.min.js"></script>
            <script src="//code.createjs.com/movieclip-0.7.1.min.js"></script>
            <script src="{{assets}}/js/first.js"></script>
            <script>
                function initFirstAnimation() {
                    var canvas, stage, exportRoot;
                    canvas = document.getElementById("firstCanvas");
                    exportRoot = new libFirst.first();
                    stage = new createjsFirst.Stage(canvas);
                    stage.addChild(exportRoot);
                    stage.update();
                    createjsFirst.Ticker.setFPS(libFirst.properties.fps);
                    createjsFirst.Ticker.addEventListener("tick", stage);
            </script>
            <script>
                // change the default namespace for the CreateJS libraries:
                var createjsSecond = createjsSecond||{};
                var createjs = createjsSecond;
            </script>
            <script src="//code.createjs.com/easeljs-0.7.1.min.js"></script>
            <script src="//code.createjs.com/tweenjs-0.5.1.min.js"></script>
            <script src="//code.createjs.com/movieclip-0.7.1.min.js"></script>
            <script src="{{assets}}/js/second.js"></script>
            <script>
                function initSecondAnimation() {
                    var canvas, stage, exportRoot;
                    canvas = document.getElementById("secondCanvas");
                    exportRoot = new libSecond.second();
                    stage = new createjsSecond.Stage(canvas);
                    stage.addChild(exportRoot);
                    stage.update();
                    createjsSecond.Ticker.setFPS(libSecond.properties.fps);
                    createjsSecond.Ticker.addEventListener("tick", stage);
            </script>
    <body onload="initFirstAnimation(); initSecondAnimation();">
    Could someone please reply with the best practice on how to do this? If possible, without the need to reload all the libraries...
    If I only need to show one flash movie at a time, would it be more efficient to cut & paste the canvas tag using jQuery in the DOM and reloading a different lib on it?
    Many thanks!
    #flash #reborn

    I was able to fix it. At the end, it was easier than I thought. Just have to publish using a different "lib" namespace for each movie, load all the scripts at the end of the <body> and then add the following to the onload or ready events:
    $(document).ready(function () {
            var canvas, stage, exportRoot;
            // First movie
            canvas = document.getElementById("firstCanvas");
            exportRoot = new libFirst.first();
            stage = new createjs.Stage(canvas);
            stage.addChild(exportRoot);
            stage.update();
            createjs.Ticker.setFPS(libFirst.properties.fps);
            createjs.Ticker.addEventListener("tick", stage);
            // Second movie
            canvas = document.getElementById("secondCanvas");
            exportRoot = new libSecond.second();
            stage = new createjs.Stage(canvas);
            stage.addChild(exportRoot);
            stage.update();
            createjs.Ticker.setFPS(libSecond.properties.fps);
            createjs.Ticker.addEventListener("tick", stage);
            // Third movie
            canvas = dument.getElementById("thirdCanvas");
            exportRoot = new libThird.third();
            stage = new createjs.Stage(canvas);
            stage.addChild(exportRoot);
            stage.update();
            createjs.Ticker.setFPS(libThird.properties.fps);
            createjs.Ticker.addEventListener("tick", stage);

  • How to load multiple .wrl (VRML) files?

    Hi all,
    I need to load four components of a coffee table into the virtual universe, the four components are top, base, left leg and right leg. I use four parts not one whole single object because in this way when I change the size of this furniture, I can make the thickness of the edges fixed, which is a must. The four parts consist a table correctly in the design software TopSolid, but when I load the four .wrl ojbect files seperately in the application, they cannot compose a table correctly. I guess the reason is the four components have been resized and translated automatically in the VRML loader. I have reviewed the source code of the VRML loader and some related source code but not be able to find where the auto resize code is.
    I have used four Wavefront .obj files instead to do another technical demonstration, if I disable the ObjectFile.RESIZE flag, and just scale the four parts by myself using the same scale factor, I can get a perfect coffee table, with every part in correct location. But my supervisor insist on using VRML .wrl files in our project.
    I hope someone can give me some kind instructions or advises on how to do it in VRML97 loader (https://j3d-vrml97.dev.java.net/).
    Any help will be highly appreciated.

  • How to create multiple segments on the target structure of an IDOC

    Hi All
       I am working on the Shipment Confirmation Interface( Message Type SHPCON ) which is FILE to IDOC Scenario. I have a segment called E1EDL18 which occurs only once on the target side of the idoc. Now I have to created multiple E1EDl18 segments for the Qualifiers ORI, PGI and PCK. I treid to send a constant ORI,PGI,PCK and then used an user defined function which splits the constant at COMMA and then I am assigning to the target field QUALF. In the display queue for QUALF I see three values with context but still only one E1EDL!* segment is created. Please let me know how to create multiple E1EDl18 segments for three qualifiers.
    Thanks
    Naga

    In message Mapping, just right click on the segment and click on duplicate subtree. now it will create you another segment with same name and fields in it..
    you can hard code the Qual, or you can map the required source field into it.

  • How to Load file name in to Oracle table column

    hi,
    I am loading data from flat file(TEST_GRET.DMP) to oracle table.
    while the Target Oracle table has four coloumns, in which one is File_name.
    I want to load the FILE NAME into that table too. as there is no ????
    how it can be done???
    Regards,

    If you are loading multiple files using a single interface, using variables, Bhabani's first solution and my solution are good.
    If you only have one interface with your datastore, you know the file name and it won't change, you can use Bhabani's second solution or mine.
    I did not test my solution but it is quite simple to test.
    Just put the code provided for the mapping of your target column.
    This solution has the advantage it should always work.
    Regards
