How to make a portlet application using JHeadstart ?

Dose the JHeadstart 10.1.2.x Struts/JSP application can deploy to Oracle portal as a portlet ?Have any document for reference to make this requirement ?

I have the same problem and so far I have found the following out of the doc (Portlet developers guide):
If you want to run your application as a Java (Struts) Portlet, you have to modify at least the generated JSPs. Reasons are e.g. the extension of the struts tags for the URL correction and as I have read there are only HTML tags allowed that you can use in a TABLE tag (no <HTML>, <BODY> and <FRAME> tags).
Another approach is to try the Web-Clipping Portlet. (That's also on my TODO list :-)
To test it, I suggest
- install your JHS app in a separate OC4J
- Use the web-clipping portlet and reference your JHS app entry page
The disadvantage of this approach is, that you can't influence the style of your application as you can do with real portlets.
Open questions are:
- are all JHS URLs redirected to portlet URLs?
- is the Javascript code still working especially for LOVs?
- what happens if the Portal page is refreshed? What page of the JHS application will be displayed?
As I said I haven't done any deeper research or tests but I am also interested in a solution.

Check using transaction RSA6, if there is an node MM-IO in the path SAP - R/3 --> MM
If not, u can create one using the "Create Icon" or using menu path "Hierarchy --> Create node"

You can hide and show portlets of Web providers (OmniPortlet, Web Clipping, and Java portlets) on portal pages dynamically. This functionality is controlled by security managers. The PDK provides a number of security managers. For example:
o Group security manager: The group security manager makes the portlet appear to users who are members of a specified group, while hides the portlet for those who are not members.
o Authentication level security manager: You can use the authentication level security manager to control access to the portlets based on the users authentication level. For example you may hide the portlet from public users, but display it to authenticated users.
In addition to the security managers provided by the PDK, you can build your own security managers.
Although OmniPortlet and Web Clipping do not expose security managers through the user interface, you can apply them by editing their XML provider definition file.
For PL/SQL portlets you can use the is_runnable method to control whether the portlet is hidden or shown.

I have created automatic inbuild ant script using jdevloper and ojdeploy that create a war file into my adf application deploy folder.
Now i want my war to be deploy remotely on weblogic server.
Is there any inbuld functionality provided by jdeveloper for same.
Can any one please share build.xml for adf application for deploying application remotely.
I try to use wlserver but not much success.

i want to make a GUI application for storing and retrieving image data, can i build this application using delphi?
i try using borland delphi 7, but delphi doesnt know object type ORDImage and ORDImageSignature. do u have any reference about building GUI application??
I want my application can do inserting image into database, searching image by matching it's signature, make image signature for query image, displaying image, etc.
Or if i can't make this application using delphi, maybe u can give me another application developer beside Delphi.

I am not too familiar with Delphi.
If it does Object-Relational types, that could work.
Can it interface with PL/SQL procedures? If so, that would be the way to go.
That is what I have done with .NET applications.

How can I distribute an application using Reprot generation Toolkit for MS Office for different versions of MS Office?

I want to create an application which uses the Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office. The office version of the target machine depends on what my customer has installed.
From several discussions I have seen that the installer detects which version I have on my development machine. I'm not able to hold three or four machines with different versions (97,2000,2002,XP).
I decided to do the following software architecture:
I create a LLB MakeReport.llb with a VI called MakeReport.vi. With VI server I will start MakeReport.vi in MakeReport.llb. Over a named queue I will send a command from my application to MakeReport.vi. Then the report will be
printed.
I will create this LLB by saving MakeReport.vi with File>>Save with options...>>Application distribution. All neccessary VIs will be in the LLB.
I will hold different directories for each version. I can create different version of the LLB. During installation of my application the LLB for the right version will be copied from the CD to the application folder.
I know I will be restricted in testing my report in only one version and hoping it will be good in the other versions.
I think that the difference lays only in the word and excel related llbs.
1. Will my software architecture work or is it obviously wrong?
2. How will I get all versions from the toolkit CD?
3. Which is the registry key I must read to get the right version (a minor question, if somebody knows I do not need to search for myself).

Lookout saves the files in .csv form which can be opened in Excel. I did make some progress by using the "append table to report" vi which allowed me to put values into an array and then those values were entered into my template on my report vi.
Where I am stuck now is I want to be able to put values into my template from a .csv file, not from an array I have to manually put numbers in.
Once those values are in my template I want to pull summed values from the template and place them into a final excel file for printing.
I have attached examples of the files I am working with to help you better understand what I am trying to do.

How to make url portlet parameter permanent

I have set up a url portlet inside portal.
I put tags in the provider.xml file for an input parameter for my url portlet to use. (I used the <isMandatory>true</isMandatory> so I would be prompted inside portal for the value.)
So, when I add the url portlet to a portal page a window pops up and asks me to submit a value for the portlet to use.
The portlet runs sucessfully.
MY QUESTION: How can I make the value that the page creator enters permanent so that the url portlet automatically picks it up whenever the page is run?
My purpose is to be able to add this portlet to several different pages and have it use the value that was defined for it when the page was created.
I have read several articles, but I must be missing something. Any ideas are appreciated.

You can make the following change in your provider.xml file.
<inputParameter class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.URLPortletParameter">
<name>csz</name>
<isMandatory>false</isMandatory>
<value>Set your value here</value>
<displayName>What location do you want a map for (City, State or Zip)?</displayName>
</inputParameter>
By doing so, it'll pick up the value from the provider.xml and append the value to the parameter in the URL, so that the constructed URL will have the parameter value without having to customize the page.

How to find out which application uses how many Web containers?

Hi everybody,
we are monitoring several JAVA engines via sapccmsr and often get a threshold overflow for SID\Server\...\Web Container\AllRequestsCount
The SAP online documentation tells me how to set a threshold for any web application. But befor that I should know, which application uses up all the Web Containers. How can I find out?
btw: Does the Threshold (1.000.000) make any sense, or is this just a number that may be changed without the fear for any consequences? Is there a serious performance impact?

I have an opinion, that you can take a trace messages from Web Container service, which might give you some more details.

How to make an icon image using Photoshop

I found out how to do this recently so I decided that I wanted to make a tut for those who don't know how to make an icon image. This icon image is for the libraries tab on your computer. Under the libararies tab there is Music, Pictures, Documents, and Photos
First you will need the ICO (Icon image format) Format extension for photoshop which can be downloaded here:

Once you have that all set you can now launch photoshop to create your icon image. Once you have launched it, create a new document with the size as in the image below.

Create the image you want. I used a simple one by using the custom shape tool by pressing "U" on your keyboard and with the
basic blending options.

The reason why the image is pixelated is because it is an icon image. Since the image is only 256x256 pixels when you zoom in on it that will get you the pixely result. The reason why I zoomed in is so you can see it. But don't worry this is no the end result. Just continue reading and you will see.
So once you have created the icon go ahead and press
file>save as>(under format choose the ICO)>and choose the name that you want to name it. And save it in your C: drive. You will see why to save it in your C: drive in a sec.

So now that you have created the icon and saved it now you can create the new library.

Name the library whatever you want I named it "Sample" for tutorial purposes. Notice how it gives you a default boring icon image for your library.

So now once you have created and named your library now it is time to get the icon image into place.
Go to computer/c: Drive/users/YOU/ And now once you have reached this area you will need to access a hidden folder named "appdata" to do so press "Alt" then a menu bar will show. Click
tools>folder options>and view. Find the option to view hidden folders then press apply then ok. Now we shall continue so AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Windows>Libraries
Now you should see all the libraries including the one you just created.

Once you have reached your destination then open a new text document with notepad and drag the library you just created in notepad. The result should look like this:

It is Windows only because all those screen shots are exclusively Windows, the file structure and paths do not resemble those of the Mac in the least. As a Mac user, there's nothing I could take from your tutorial. Sorry,
No drives named with letters like C: on the Mac, for instance. No backward slashes either, ever. No such paths either. No "Notepad" on the Mac, we use TextEdit; but such a text editor is not remotely needed on the Mac to make and/or edit icons. Etc.
Those folders are not even called "Libraries" on the Mac… Nothing resembling your tutorial at all.
The icons in the Finder's Sidebar are not customizable at all in recent version of OS X.

The actual interview portlet is found in the zip you download for Oracle Policy Automation runtime components for Java (Oracle Policy Automation Downloads on OTN).
Any basic rulebase will work inside the portlet. The SocialServicesScreening example rulebase has both portlet and non-portlet projects. The rules and data model are the same in both projects but these projects contain different summary screens because portlets impose a restriction on the use of relative URLs to reference static resources. I was thinking of saving the inputs in variables (starting in a) with previous value 0 following this logic:
if (a==0) {a=36}
else if (b==0) {b=36}
else if (c==0) {c=36}
where 36 is the frame where this button clip starts.
then, when the user is done i would do this at the end frame of each clip
if (a=/=0) {frame=a; a=0; goto frame}
else if (b=/=0) {frame=b; b=0; goto b}
my only problem here would be how do record the video...
