How to make a validation for a field?

Is any possible to make input value
validation for a field?
E.g. Force the user enter ItemCode in a
correct format with proper prefix XX-BB-.... .
If SDK is a only solution, how to do it?

You can't realy do it with out sdk. You could always try to right a query that will clear the code when it isn't in the correct format. then if they press add it will give an error cause there is no item code. But you'll struggle to get this right and it won't be full proof.
In sdk in your item event you'll test if the specific edit box lost focus and before the action, if that is true then check the value. If it is not correct then bubble the event and give an error. when you bubble the event it won't do the action they wanted to do.

How to exclude Required Validation for some fields?

Hi,
I have a page in a form with some fields that are set as required like this:
Field 1 Field 2

Field 3 Field4 "Add" button
Field 5 Field 6
"Submit" button
There are two buttons in this form. The "Add" button is PPR allows adding Field 3 and Field 4 to the table. The "Submit" button is for the actual submission and processing. When "Add" button is pressed, I only want the require validation to be done for Field 3 and Field 4, but not Field 1/Field 2/Field 5/Field 6.
Currently, if I press "Add" button, the required field validations are triggered for all six fields. How can I only limit the require validation to some required fields only for this button?

subform is a great idea and kinna what I needed in this situation, but there is another challenge.
In my case, I tried to put table, Field 3 and Field 4 in subform:
Field 1 Field 2
<af:subform>
table
Field 3 Field4 "Add" button
</af:subform>
Field 5 Field 6
"Submit" button
When I press "Add" button, Required validation still triggered for all fields. Only if I put Field 1 and Field 2 in another subform, and Field 5 and Field 6 in a different subform. Then it works like this:

Field 1 Field 2
</af:subform>

Field 3 Field4 "Add" button
</af:subform>
<af:subform>
Field 5 Field 6
"Submit" button
</af:subform>
But in my case, I need Field 1, Field 2, Field 5, Field 6 and "Submit" button to be in the same subform, as the "Submit" button applies to these four fields. In the UI design, Field 3 and Field 4 are between Field 1/Field 2 and Field 5/Field 6 though.

I have created a table in which i have date field of format MM/DD i.e char 5.
i want validation that if user creates a entry in date field then if he enters first two digit more then 12 then validation must be their that please enter first 2 digits from 1-12.
similarly for last two digitsi.e it must be from 1-31
so how can i provide this validation.

Declare 3 variables
DD(2) type char
MM(2) type char
Temp(2) type char
Date(5) type char
Get the DD and MM value from your date field
if MM > 12.
    temp = MM.
    MM = DD.
    DD = temp.
endif.
Then concatenate MM & DD into date and save

ID , AccomplishDate ,cancelDate,Status
I want to make a validation on the Status attribute , which is:
if status = "CAN" then the CancelDate attribute value will be current date and the AccomplishDate attribute value be null.

How to create a validation for version in planning

Hello all,
i would like to create a validation for the field 'version'. I have defined 8 different versions, one of them just for planning in orders.
How can i create a sustitution in order to validate that always that they are going to plan in orders, only they are going to allocate the plan in the proper version?
Is there another different way to do this?

For planning transactions (except for planned settlement), the validation OKC7 (or substitution OKC9) won't work.

Hi, I am not sure of the table though for the budget, but I have one suggestion.. I'm not sure if you already know the F1-F9 button. Firstly, just put your cursor somewhere in the screen where the budget/field is located then press F1 and F9, you will see the table name, go to t-code SE11 and type in the table you've found, then go to attributes and copy the development class, open a new session using t-code SE80(Object navigator), pull down the arrow/F4 choose the development class and press the ENTER button, you will see all the related tables, function modules, transaction, programs, etc., that is related to that development class.

How to create a validation for the project coding mask

Hi,
Would just like to ask how to create a validation for the project coding mask wherein the WBS elements hierarchy will be checked against the template saved. For example,
project coding mask is XXXX-XXXXX-XX-X-X-X-00-X
mother WBS should be XXXX-XXXXX-X and lower level WBS would be XXXX-XXXXX-XX.
The validation should not allow a mother WBS to be XXXX-XXXXX-XX.
How can we go about this?

You can use validation with the combination of the level and the coding mask.
In the validation:
Pre requisite: WBS level = 1
Validation: Prps-posid = prps-posid :1-12:
Message : Error
If required you can give the parameters for your detail error message.

It seems you have created Address Location DFF in self service in OA Framework.....
I have created a Address Location flex in OA Framework . It dipslays the segments properly but i dont want to display the segments if they dont have any value.
I only want to display segments with values . The segments with null values should not display at all...
i.e , if Address Line 2 value is null , it should not display Address Line 2..
If you have done this, pls let me know how to go abt it.

WAD:
Open the WAD and create a new template. On the left hand navigation you will have several Web Items available. Under 'Standard' you have 'Analysis' item. Pull that into your template to the right. Under the Properties tab you need to pick the query [form/layout] that you have built in Query Designer.
You will also find other items such as Button group, Checkbox, drop down, list box etc available. Pick and drag into the template whatever it is you require. Lets say you want a button. Under the Properties tab select the 'Command' that you require. You could use standard commands that are available there. You could also define functions and commands that you require.
Query Designer:
Open the QD and drag the characteristics and key figures that you require into the rows and columns of the QD. You would need to specify restrictions under the Filter tab of the QD based on the granularity of data that you require. You would need to remember that the key figures need to be made Input Ready [do this by clicking on KF and on the planning tab select "change by user and planning functions"].
This shouldgive you a start. After you've explored it yourself a bit we can discuss further and I can certainly provide you additional details/material on these areas.

Hi,
Create one Search Help in the SE11 for the particular Field that u want to display. In the Screen(Transaction SE51),For that Text Box in the Attributes,in Dict Tab ->Search Help Field give that Search Help Name.
For Eg,
If u want Purchase Order Numbers in that F4 Help.Create one Search Help by giving Table Name as EKKO & Search Help Parameter as EBELN with Lpos & Rpos as 0 & 1.Save & Activate it.
Give this Search Help Name in Dict Tab ->Search Help Field of that Screen Attributes.

Hello Jacky,
To combine all the answers above and have a topic-based reply please go through the below steps:
#1. Inactivate the current extension field Company (I see it is actually a String value and this is not what you want to have)
#2. Go to Setup -> System Setup -> Extension Reference Types
Check if you already have a Company reference type
If not, create a new Extension Reference Type for Class Company. Fill in all required information.
#3. Create a new Extension Attribute
Select Data Type: Object Reference
Now you can add the Company type as reference
