How to make domain local to a model

We know domains are stored in \types\defaultdomains.xml. That makes em truly global, every model in the future will see ALL PAST domains.
Sometimes, you need a domain only for a specific model. Is there an option to do this?

I found this solution quite bugged.
DM 3.0 production
pre-condition:
bug1 -------------------
how to reproduce:
- move the defaultdomains.xml to {design}/domains/local_domains.xml
- fix the element <filename> as suggested
- open the design
- Open domain admin
- Add a new domain, testDomain
- Apply
- Save
what happened
- keep in mind you have a local domains file + the global one
- the domain was generated inside the global domains!
- But this design had a local domain in domains/local_domain.xml.
- Now I'm forced to go inside defaultdomains.xml, get the domain in xml and cut-paste it in the local file.
What should happen
- At least, ask me where to save the new domain.
bug2 -----------------
- move the defaultdomains.xml to {design}/domains/local_domains.xml
- fix the element <filename> as suggested
- open the design
- Open domain admin
- select the local file using the DOMAINS FILE option.
- add a domain (this time you're sure to add it locally)
- specify logical type = CHAR
- specify size = 2
- Apply
- Save
- close
- open domain admin
- look at your new domain
what happened
- you local domain get lost. It is arbitrary renamed to "domain_XX"
- the type is lost (now is unknown)
- the size is lost (now is nothing)
what should happen
- do not destroy each new domain that lives in the local file

DNS: Client can't connect because .local domain isn't in DNS. How can I connect over the WAN to server.domain.local?

So my 2012 server is set up on the LAN with a .local domain name.
Remote Desktop Services are set up and remoteapp stuff works fine on the LAN.
I've set up port forwarding so I can connect to the server over the WAN too, but remoteapp stuff is a bit different. I can connect to the server by specifying the correct IP address. Giving a Web browser the address
https://serverIPAddress/RDWeb
lets me get the login screen and see the range of apps for me to run. I select one, the connectoid is downloaded correctly (in Chrome) and I click on the downloaded connectoid.
Unfortunately, rather than pursuing the sensible IP-address approach that I started with, the connectoid has been given the server's name on the LAN: server.domain.local. Clearly, the client machine tries to look this up but DNS hasn't heard of
it because it's a .local address.
I cannot be the only one to have come across this apparent oversight on Microsoft's part. Any ideas as to how this can sensibly be overcome? Obviously, I could put the IP address translation into every client's hosts file (and I've done this and shown it
works) but I've got too many clients to mess about like this. Anybody know 'the Microsoft way' to fix this?

you need to choose the second option .
First option will remove all the domains users from the local administrator group available in all the PC'S .Then local administrator group will only have the users updated on the members list present in group policy.
Note : Local admins accounts on the local administrators groups will not be removed.
Second option will add the newly created group to the local administrator group in all the PC'S and it will not remove the existing members in the local administrators group.
Step 1 : Just try to create one new group for SCCM management .
Step 2 : Then add the SCCM account to that group.
Step 3 : Then please create a new group policy on that just choose the second option.On that option just add the newly created group to be an member of administrator group in all the PC'S
Why i have asked you to create a new group ?
Because in second option , we don't have a option to add a individual user .
Once you have created a group policy it will like below snap.
As an additional i will tell how to find the newly created group policy is applying to computer objects or not ans also i will tell you how to force update the group policy
1.gpresult /r ----> To find the which group policy is applying on user and computer object .
2.rsop.msc ----> There you can able to find the change has been applied or not .
3.gpupdate /force -----> Forcefully updating the group policy in a client machine
4.In gpmc.msc there is one option called group policy results .That option will be used for centralized management to find the policies that are applied to a user and computer account.
5.Just check the event viewer in all the PC'S for group policy related events.
Most importantly you need to make sure all the computer accounts are placed in an ou ,where the newly created group policy is applying and also make sure that OU doesn't contain any inheritance block.

The formula node is similar to C in syntax so I would try to copy it into that. If the code you have is in Matlab you might have to make some adjustments for functions that exist only in Matlab. Of course, if you are running Matlab on the same computer you can use the Matlab interface. Complicated math in G sometime makes more sense when it is put in a formula node.

If anyone know how I can I make visible the attributes of models in Publisher? The problems is that there are no possibilities to visualize standard and free model attributes in Publisher. Of course I created a required filter in “administration module” ( “ configuration ” -> “conventions” -> “Filters”) before import to Publisher in BPA, but it was lack. :(

How can I make a local network without internet?

In Snow Leopard, I was able to make a local network in my home using internet sharing. The network was there even though my dialup modem was disconnected. Now when Lion, the network is only there if my internet is connected. How do I make a local network in my home without having to stay connected. I can click create network in the wi-fi menu, but that goes away every time I put the computer to sleep. Are there any third party apps to fix this?

If you are transfering files, you can use disk sharing instead. All you need is to connect the two computers together with an ethernet cable. For gaming, not sure.

Preparing new Certificate for Exchange - how to cover the .local domain names

I need to plan out our new certificate for our CAS servers. Exchange 2010 SP3. Our current SAN certificate has several names including our Exchange FQDN's which are exserver.domain.local. I know our CA will not let me generate SAN's with a .local anymore
so how do I cover the Exchange internal FQDN's in the certificate?
I did a get-exchangecertificate and the only certificates I have are the public CA with all the SAN's and Services are IP.WS. The other two Exchange certificates are self signed but only for SMTP "S".
You can only have one certificate for web services "W" so how do you get around the Exchange FQDN? Our internal autodiscover, availability and OOF etc....that Outlook uses all use the Exchange internal FQDN of servername.domain.local.
Even if I generate another Exchange certificate for the server FQDN and submit it to our internal CA, I cannot enable web services on this certificate because my public certificate is already enabled for web services.
Need some help here. I am really stumped on this one.

Right click on structure and choose remove reference. Then you can add new fields, and this structure is local.

Calculate KF consists of Basic, restrict and other calculated kFs stored in Metadata repository.
Calculate KF is a replicate of Formula and acts as Global.
Calculate KF acts as Global--you can use Globally.
Formula as Local--you can use as local to Query.
you can create the Calculate KF as follow:
Goto Query Designer>Open/Create Query>Select Key Figures Mode on left side of Query>Select that KF node> right click Select Calculate Keyfigure.
then one popup window dispays, so you make the calculations based on Basic KF, Restirct Kf and Formule. then save it.

I want to use Firefox 4 in a multi tennant environment. On each workstation users of different origine can log on. Ideally of course I'd like to have everybody use the system using his own language. I already found out how to make Firefox available in multiple languages, but at the moment that can only be set manually. I am looking for a way to make FF's locale follow Windows' locale. Anybody that can give me some pointers?
In case FF can't do this by automated I was hoping to find out where about:config stores it's settings (file / registry).

How to make row number in local member dynamic

I have create multiple local member and the formula I the local member is such as
=SUM(row11+row14+row16)
then I add another couple of row before row 11, now the formula should be:
=SUM(row13+row16+row18)
anybody know is there a way how to make the formula in the local member dynamic, which means that if I add rows of drop rows, the formula in local member will automatically change?

Hi Jian,
You can create local my by "Activate Local Member Recognition", but make sure "Use Position in axis" should be unchecked.
Also make sure you have added all required Local members before any insertion of rows.
