How to make image transparent to background in Web Dynpro...

Hi Experts,
IN our web dynpro application, we need to have some fonts and sizes of texts to be displayed on the layout. Since web dynpro has limited options for the design and color of a Textview, we have decided to use the image instead.
This image has exactly the same background color as that of web dynpro and is matching perfectly.
But the problem is, it shows a border surrounding the image. We need to remove that border and make it completely transparent to the web dynpro background.
I have tried different design options for Image element but it did not worked.
Has anyone done this earlier..
Regards,
Anand

Thanks Nitesh,
I have downloaded the MIME image and it doesn't appear to have the border. This border is added by web dynpro application itself.
Regards,
Anand

    It IS possible: Select the image. Open effects (Window > Effects). Switch from "normal" to "multiply". Viola! White background is gone.
    That only works with a white background. In addition, it introduces a transparency effect, with its associated problems.
    With a rather light background: Select the image. Open clipping path (Object > Clipping Path > Options). Select Type > Detect Edges; use Threshold and Tolerance to get as close as possible to the edge of your image. This may be difficult because of a too low resolution image, or too much fringe on the edge -- if all fails, use the Inset Frame value to force the mask "into" the image. Click OK, and the background is gone.
    But that's not the only way: you can always create a clipping path manually, and then you are in total control, not limited by transparency side effects, auto-edge detection, and busy backgrounds.

    Hi expert:
        How to make a form for input in web interface builder?I have already used it to do PS planning, but I don't know how to  draw lines and checkboxes . Thanks in advance.

    WAD:
    Open the WAD and create a new template. On the left hand navigation you will have several Web Items available. Under 'Standard' you have 'Analysis' item. Pull that into your template to the right. Under the Properties tab you need to pick the query [form/layout] that you have built in Query Designer.
    You will also find other items such as Button group, Checkbox, drop down, list box etc available. Pick and drag into the template whatever it is you require. Lets say you want a button. Under the Properties tab select the 'Command' that you require. You could use standard commands that are available there. You could also define functions and commands that you require.
    Query Designer:
    Open the QD and drag the characteristics and key figures that you require into the rows and columns of the QD. You would need to specify restrictions under the Filter tab of the QD based on the granularity of data that you require. You would need to remember that the key figures need to be made Input Ready [do this by clicking on KF and on the planning tab select "change by user and planning functions"].
    This shouldgive you a start. After you've explored it yourself a bit we can discuss further and I can certainly provide you additional details/material on these areas.

    Hi Gurprit,
    A null value is being passed at runtime. Make sure that you enter values when filling in the form.
    Also check for the cardinality of the nodes being used. You can also initiliaze your value attributes as follows:
    In wdDoInit() method:
    wdContext.currentNodeAElement.setValueA("");
    Context is as follows:
    RootNode
      |____NodeA
            |_____ValueA
    Hope it helps.

  • SRM 7.0 find transparent table name from Web dynpro Component

    Hi ,
    I am trying to find the transparent table name from Web dynpro component dictionary structure. I am working in SRM 7.0. Please let me know how to find the transpartent table for a field.
    Thanks,
    Monica

    hi,
    your question is very unclear and does not relate to performance.
    SRM uses webdynpro ABAP so the recommendation will not help.
    Do you need a technical UI element?
    Or the application table where the business data of an UI is stored???
    If it is the later, then you can use the SQL trace, change to element you are interested in, and trace it. The table should appear in the trace in connection which an UPDATE command. Still a bit cimbersome.

  • How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro & Database table

    Dear friend,
    I am a beginner of Web Dynpro. I want to develop my simple project like these:
    1. Create my own database table via Dictionary Project such as TAB_USER and have 3 fields: USER_ID, USER_NAME, USER_POSITION and I have already deployed & archived it.
    2. Create my own Web Dynpro Project, and create the input fields as User ID, User name, User position and icon 'Save' on the selection screen and I have deployed it already.
    For the process, I want to input data at the screen and save the data in the table, please give me the guide line like these:
    1. How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro and Database table ?
    2.  Are there any nescessary steps that I will concern for this case?
    Sorry if my question is simple, I had try  to find solution myself, but it not found
    Thanks in advances,
    SeMs

    Hi,
    You can write your own connection class for establishing the connection with DB.
    Ex:
    public class  ConnectionClass {
    static Connection con = null;
    public static Connection getConnection() {
    try{
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/TSPAGE");
    con = ds.getConnection();
    return con;
    }catch(Exception e){
    return null;
    You can place the above class file in src folder and you can use this class in webdynpro.
    You can have another UserInfo class for reading and writing the data into the DB .

  • How to Implement Sort, Filter funtinality in Normal web dynpro ABAP Table

    Hello,
    How to Implement Sort, Filter funtinality in Normal web dynpro ABAP Table ?
    Thanks

    hi,
    Check out this link for sorting in Table.
    Sorting option in WebDynPro ABAP UI Table
    steps to follow :
    ->Have the data in internal table (itab).
    ->Now use sort command for the particular column which ever you want to sort.
      e.g sort itab descending by <Column>.
    ->Now you can bind the internal table with the Context Node which is binded to Table.
    I hope it helps.
    Thanx.

  • Spherical Photo Gallery how to make a transparent background

    http://www.flashandmath.com/flashcs4/spheregallery/index.html
    http://www.flashandmath.com/flashcs4/spheregallery/spherical_gallery.zip
    I am pretty new to the world of flash, a flash newbie.
    Please check link above my question is related to making this sphere gallery.
    I am trying to make the background transparent, and i can , when i make it transparent
    the navigation for the sphere doesnt let me navigate throught the pictures.
    If you look at the code i made it transparent by removing the drawboard function or the fills in the function.
    As i said when i do this the navigation seems non functional.
    if download link does not work try the other at the top.

    Hi,
    Since you had written event handlers on 'board' and board is transparent (without drawBoard function), there will be no events triggered and navigation is not possible. Workaround is to create board with fill = minimum alpha value (0.01).
    board.graphics.beginFill(0x0, 0.01);
    Let me know if you need more information.
    Regards,
    Karthikeyan R.

  • How to make treetable transparent

    hi,
    Does anyone have idea how to make the treetable transparent so that the background image can be shown?
    Pls provide sample code if possible,thanks!

    I don't know if I can come up with some code example
    for you since I don't know what treetable your are
    using... but... Transparency is always going to relate
    to the whether your components are opaque or not.
    Opaque = Not Transparent, so setting opaque = false
    will hopefully make your table transparent. You may
    need to do this on your CellRenderer's as well.
    Hope this helps,

    * An editor that can be used to edit the tree column. This extends
    * DefaultCellEditor and uses a JTextField (actually, TreeTableTextField)
    * to perform the actual editing.
    * <p>To support editing of the tree column we can not make the tree
    * editable. The reason this doesn't work is that you can not use
    * the same component for editing and renderering. The table may have
    * the need to paint cells, while a cell is being edited. If the same
    * component were used for the rendering and editing the component would
    * be moved around, and the contents would change. When editing, this
    * is undesirable, the contents of the text field must stay the same,
    * including the caret blinking, and selections persisting. For this
    * reason the editing is done via a TableCellEditor.
    * <p>Another interesting thing to be aware of is how tree positions
    * its render and editor. The render/editor is responsible for drawing the
    * icon indicating the type of node (leaf, branch...). The tree is
    * responsible for drawing any other indicators, perhaps an additional
    * +/- sign, or lines connecting the various nodes. So, the renderer
    * is positioned based on depth. On the other hand, table always makes
    * its editor fill the contents of the cell. To get the allusion
    * that the table cell editor is part of the tree, we don't want the
    * table cell editor to fill the cell bounds. We want it to be placed
    * in the same manner as tree places it editor, and have table message
    * the tree to paint any decorations the tree wants. Then, we would
    * only have to worry about the editing part. The approach taken
    * here is to determine where tree would place the editor, and to override
    * the <code>reshape</code> method in the JTextField component to
    * nudge the textfield to the location tree would place it. Since
    * JTreeTable will paint the tree behind the editor everything should
    * just work. So, that is what we are doing here. Determining of
    * the icon position will only work if the TreeCellRenderer is
    * an instance of DefaultTreeCellRenderer. If you need custom
    * TreeCellRenderers, that don't descend from DefaultTreeCellRenderer,
    * and you want to support editing in JTreeTable, you will have
    * to do something similiar.

  • HOW TO MAKE IMAGE TRANSPERANT

    Hello All,
    I have two images one as background and another one is to
    place on background image.
    Upper one I need transperant. How to write code to
    make image transperant?
    CAN ANY ONE HELP?
    Sharmila.

    If you want to do on the fly image transparencies then you want to look in the java.awt.image package. There is are some pretty powerful image filters in here and after the initial learning curve, it isn't terribly complex to create your own image filters. For a school group project we created a logic puzzle game based on a shareware program alreay out there. The shareware program had a tileset format that we wanted to use in our application, but the transparencies weren't set up correctly. We ended up adding the transparencies on the fly. I wish I had the piece of code handy but I can remember enough to point you on the right path.
    If you subclass java.awt.image.ImageFilter and override the two setPixels() methods, you can provide any manipulation you need to. Basically the image producer will pass in the pixels in one huge byte (or int) array top left to bottom right order. What we did, was get the color out of the first pixel and make that our transparency color. The byte method has two bits per color while the int method has 8 bits per pixel. The color is divided into r(ed), g(reen), b(lue), a(lpha) (I can't remember if alpha was first or last, a little expirimentation will tell you). The alpha is opaque at one extreme and fully transparent at the other extreme. Loop through the array and if the color is the same as your first pixel then set the alpha to 0 (or was it 15/255?).
    Good luck!

  • How to make a transparent header?

    Hello everyone,
    Im a beginner in photoshop, so excuse me if this is not a very smart question.
    I did a bit of editing with the header on the site http://www.amazingplacelist.com but i want to make the header a little bit transparant.
    Is this possible and how do i achieve this/wich settings do i use in photoshop?
    thank you!

    Hi there
    It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot of your layers panel if that is possible. However, I've posted a few tips below on using opacity with layers.
    Below is the layers panel for my re-creation of your image. It may not look similar to your layers panel, but if you'd like, I can provide instructions for how I created my image. Essentially, I have a colored background layer, the island image with an opacity mask, and a basic text layer.
    To change the opacity of the island, click on the thumbnail of the image in your layers panel. In the top right area of the layers panel (shown below), there should be a slider labeled "Opacity". This will allow you to change the transparency of the image.
    Now, since you're using this image on a website, it will be helpful to use Photoshop's Save for Web function. Choose File > Save for Web... from the menu bar.
    This function will allow you to save images for use on the web, and will also allow you to preserve any transparency. Note that below I've selected PNG as my file type and checked the box for "Preserve transparency".
    I hope this helped you out, if you need additional explanations or instructions, please don't hesitate to ask
    Good luck!

  • Is there a way to make images transparent in Photoshop Elements 12?

    I just purchased the new software and don't have any experience with this program.  I'm trying to find out if I can make the background of images transparent.
    Does anyone know?

    Yes. First you must double-click the background layer to convert it to a regular layer. Then use whatever selection tools are appropriate to select your background and press delete. Unless you've you've changed default settings you should see a grey & white checker pattern - this denotes transparency.
    When saving you must save it to a format that supports transparency. For GIF and PNG use the File> Save for Web and make sure the transparency checkbox is ticked. For TIF use File> Save As and select the TIF format. On the same dialog that offers compression options, there is a transparency checkbox.
