How to manipulate XML?

Hi guys
I have this XML returned to my app:
<menu>
<categoria nome="cat1">

item 1

item 2

item 3

</categoria>
<categoria nome="cat2">

item 1b

item 2b

item 3b

</categoria>
<categoria nome="cat3">

item 1c

item 2c

item 3c

</categoria>
</menu>
this is retrieved by an HTTPService
<mx:HTTPService id="xmlMenu" url="data/menu.xml"
method="POST" useProxy="false" result="handler()"
resultFormat="e4x" />
How to manipulate the XML data in then result handler using
action script?
- show nodes length
- get the atribute of node categoria
- get to the values of node item
i've tried
xmlMenu.lastResult.menu.length.toString()
xmlMenu.lastResult.menu.categoria[0].length.toString()
xmlMenu.lastResult.menu.categoria[0].@nome
xmlMenu.lastResult.menu.categoria[0].item[0]
nothing happens

A better way to get the result is:
<mx:HTTPService ..result="handler(event)"
and in the handler:
private function handler(oEvent:ResultEvent):void //might
need to import ResultEvent
var xmlMenu:XML = oEvent.result;
trace(xmlMenu.toXMLString())
Now you can use the e4x expressions;
trace(xmlMenu.categoria[0].item[0]); //ashould trace "item 1"

  • How to Manipulate XML message in BPM

    Hi,
    We are running an Async to Sync bridge for our SAP ORDERS ORDERS05 IDoc to CXML order request interface. When we post the CXML order and get a response, we are trying to send a STATUS SYSTAT01 IDoc to SAP. We need to pass in the IDoc number for the orginal ORDERS IDoc in the STATUS IDoc.
    In BPM, we are able to extract the DOCNUM for the ORDERS IDoc using the Container operation. However, we are not able to place this DOCNUM in the STATUS IDoc.
    However, we cannot use a Container operation to put back the value. Any ideas on how to do this? We want to manipulate the STATUS IDoc.
    Thanks,
    Jay Malla
    Genentech SAP XI Team

    Hi Jay,
    Let me summarize:
    1. you have the value somewhere in the "incomming message"
    2. you want to place it in "STATUS IDoc"
    3. both of these messages are in one integration process
    right?
    so why don't you do a simple transformation:
    Incoming message + Response status message -> STATUS IDoc ?

    I believe there's no need to use REQUEST_DOCNUM
    If I misuderstood your problem please tell me:)

    >>I need to know how to get the numbers from the phonebook
    What do you mean by "phonebook", does it mean contact list or contact history.
    Currently, there is no API to get contact history in Windows phone for privacy

    You never delete a Time Machine backup by dragging it to the Trash. You are supposed to use the TM application to manage the backups. What you will need to do now is to simply erase the drive using Disk Utility.

  • How to send XML using UTL_HTTP

    I am trying to workout how to send XML data to a webserver using UTL_HTTP but am not getting any reply
    I need to submit the following XML document to a server "http://api.fastsms.co.uk/api/xmlapi.php" Their instructions are "The XML Document should be posted unencoded, with a UTF-8 character set as parameter 'xml'"

    Hi Billy
    Yikes - how embarassing ! Thanks for pointing out my beginners mistake there. I've fixed my code - and also implemented the substitutions of parameters like you suggested - I like that approach.
    Unfortunately the end result is no better - the line
    utl_http.read_text(resp,response_text);
    Still returns nothing back
    The headers that are coming back are
    Date: Thu, 04 Jul 2013 08:31:56 GMT
    Server: Apache/2.2.16 (Ubuntu)
    X-Powered-By: PHP/5.3.3-1ubuntu9.3
    Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT
    Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0
    Pragma: no-cache
    Vary: Accept-Encoding
    Content-Length: 0
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
    Connection: close
    I guess I will need to try chasing it with the fastsms vendor so see if they can check my incoming request and see if there are any glaring problems. I know the xml is correct as I am now logging the xml string just before I send it and when I take that string and put it in their test form it works perfectly - something else in the puzzle is missing. I've had no experience using utl_http before - perhaps it's no possible to read the xml repsonse using this ?
    Anyway, thanks for your help Billy.
    ps - How do you paste your code into your message to get that formatting ?
    Cheers,
    Brent

  • How to generate xml-file for SAP Fiori (UI add-on) with Solution Manager 7.0.1?

    Hello Guru,
    could you please help with my issue with Fiori Installation.
    We want to install SAP Fiori Front-End (GW+UI) on the Sandbox system with SAP Netweaver 7.3.1. (SP14)
    Gateway component (SAP GW CORE 200 SP10) was installed without any problems.

    But I have Solution Manager 7.0.1 and in MOPZ for this version I do not have option "install Add-on" as it written in Guide for ui add-on installation.
    Could you please help me with advice how to generate xml-file for UI add-on installation on SolMan v.7.0.1?
    If where is no way, but only to upgrade Solution Manager, maybe somebody could give me xml-file for your system (for NW 731) and I will change it to my needs, I will be very grateful!
