How to Merge two Characteristics Value and store in third characteristics

Dear All,
We have a scenario where we have Three Characteristics with different value...
E.G.
Char1 = Country (Values: US, UK, IN etc...)
Char2 = State (Values: GE, VA, NY, GU etc...)
Char3 = Country+State (Values e.g.: USVA,INGU etc...)
Please share your expertise for achieving above mentioned scenario...
Characteristic3 should store combined value assigned to Characteristic1 and Characteristic2

Ensure that user has to fill in char1 before char2, set a dependency to hide the char2 field until char1 is set
Then Set a dependency function on char2 characteristic, pass char3 in as an argument to this e.g. FUNCTION zblah (char3 = $self.char3, char2 = char2).

How to take human task values and store them in DB table

Hi, I have a workflow and when I assign the task to someone I want to store some info in a database table that I created.
I have checked the box allow task and routing customization in bpel call backs.
And under the on Assign message, I put an assign bpel construct and an invoke.
in the assign construct I am trying to copy some of the elements from my humantasks_globalvariables to certain columns in my database table.
I have found out you can't copy them directly because the humantasks_globalvariables are of type string and my database columns are anonymous. So I tried using parseEscapedXML(), when I do this I get the error that
oracle.fabric.common.xml.xpath.XPathFunctionException: parseXML() expects the argument to be either a string or an XML element.
The humantasks_globalvariable I am using says it's of type string but it gives me this error.
I am obviously doing something wrong. If anybody know how to take values from a human task and store them in a database table any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the actual database the column types are varchar2. But when I drag an invoke from the bpel constructs I associate it with by DBadapter partner link and click the button automatically create input variables. It creates an xsd and this is what one of the elements looks like.

Hi Experts,
I am using Business Object Edge 3.1 sever & MySQL data base.
Question 1:
I have six date field in my universe and one catergory field.
All dates are used for different purpose.
Ex. I have current account opening & Closing date, Money Market Account Opening & Closing Date and say loan account opening & closing date.
I want to count my no. of Opening account & Closing account according to Category.
So in prompt suppose i am giving date like 5/25/2010 to 5/26/2010, so my report should fetch all the account lying in this range.
In short i want only one prompt and i want restrict my all date field with this prompt value.
Question 2:
Can I add my MySQL query in WebI or Universe like "Add Command" in Crystal Report?

If you give the same "prompt" text for all your prompts/parameters then it will prompt only once. So that's how you can merge the parameters.
The add command is not available. But following workaround may work for you:
Create a query from one of the universe with let's say 3 objects. Now click on the SQL button to view the sql statement. and choose the option for custom sql there. Paste your new SQL ther and save. Just ensure that the number of columns in the SELECT statment mathches with the number of of objects. (3 in this example) and ensure that the data type of the columns and slected objects are matching. I have seen this working, but not gone into very detail.

When syncing my iPhone w/ my Mac laptop, it seems that Apple does not provide an option that allows you to merge the data from two conflicting contacts. For example, you have a contact on your iPhone for Andy Summer and a contact on your laptop for Andy Summers - one contact contains only Andy's name and email address, the other contact contains only Andy's name and his mailing address. I'd like to be able to merge the data from these two contacts into one and save it to both, but the Conflict Resolver in the syncing program (I think it's in iTunes) does not offer an option for merging the two.
Does anyone have any knowledge about 1) how to merge data from two conflicting contacts, or 2) some other way to keep the data from each so that I don't have to choose one over the other?

First of all,You need to make teaming on both the interfaces on the server side.Which mode do you want to use? Active-Active or Active-Standby.
Server side :Active-Active - You need to configure the switch side to be a etherchannel/LACP. It can be done by the commands on the cisco 4006.
Server side :Active-Standby - You need nothing to do at the switch side.
Note: Seems PAGP is a proprietary of cisco. Server shouldn't know that. To be bound with mode "on" of "lacp" should be fine. It depends on the server side as well.

You can!t using af:query. the af:query component comes as is. If you can't do it through the properties, you probably can't do it at all.
As in your other thread, the way to go is to program your own search form. This way you can use a layout and functionality you like.
For this you create a form with input fields for the values you are searching for, put them on hte page in a way you like and in the end by hitting on a button (e.g. called Search) map all inputfields to parameters of a service method you defined in your application module or VO. This service method then executes a view criteria returning all matches in the default iterator (just as if you had used af:query.

CHeck out iTunes Match which has an annual fee of £21 or thereabouts. You can store a maximum of 25,000 songs there and they all become available on your other kit, iPhone, iPad and iPod. I know it works as I have over 23000 songs uploaded of which only a few we're bought through iTunes.
it works by comparing your music to the whole iTunes music dadata base so you access the same tunes that you could get from iTunes. If you have obscure stuff, it uploads your own music to the cloud as a copy.
I Find it incredible that on my iPhone with its 16gb memory I can view almost 200 gb of music (ie my 23000 songs) and play any of them. Anything I add to iTunes becomes available via the cloud fairly quickly from a few minutes or a little longer if adding a lot.
The first time you use it it will take quite a while to match your music if you have a lot, but after that it is all automatic. Read the stuff on the apple site. Your PC needs to be at least running Vista. I recommend it and at less than 50p a week it's good value.

the increement shud start frm ...........5001,5002,5003..................etc
How can I achieve this...........?
I created an numeric Variable and in assigned the default as 5000 nad action as Historize.........
In the target Datastore ......I assigned VAR+1.......
but in the Target column I got 5001 for all the columns........
Which way is the best way to deal with the Variables.......

I have created a sequence........whether I need to mention the schema and table name ,column.........also ( I gave all the information) and Increement column =1 and saved it .......
Then I follwed the procedure as u have mentioned .....
And in the Target field also I gave the same the same.......for tat column I gave choose (target for execution).

What you could do is:
1. do a ontime command line merge of both repository using the nqudmlexec tool
2. In the mergerd repository created two project (sh and paint) and assign one bussiness model to each project.
3. Make this the master repository for your MUD.
4. Check the projects in and out.

1. How are you getting the voices at the same time? Are these signals
coming from the same line, e.g. microphone? Or are you just reading
two audio files from disk?
2. To get the frequency of a audio signal, you'll need to do Fast Fourier
Transform to that signal. You'll propably need a third party library for this,
search for this with google.
3. If your signals are coming from the same source, it's going to be very
hard to filter out one of these voices. If you don't know anything about the
voices in forehand, I don't think this will be possible.
Give some more information about what you're trying to achieve.
