How to move Portal application to 309

I have a Portal 3.0.8 application and a fresh install of Portal 3.0.9 on another server. How can I move the application from 3.0.8 to 3.0.9 without having to upgrade the existing 3.0.8 application?
Thank You.

If you are moving an application between portal installations, both of the portal installations must be at the same version of Oracle9iAS Portal.
So, in your case, you'll need to upgrade your 3.0.8 "development" installation to Portal 3.0.9, before trying to move your application to your existing Portal 3.0.9 "target" environment. Do that, or if your application is small, just rebuild it on your 3.0.9 environment.

  • How to move mobile applications, artwork, games folders?

    Hi,
I added an external harddrive to my PC today due to my music harddrive (drive J:) running out of space. I moved/consolidated my music/media to the new external harddrive (drive E:) per instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364?viewlocale=en_US This seemed to work fine....all my music and movies are moved to the new external drive.
However, I noticed that my Mobile Applications, Games, and Artwork are still located on my main harddrive (drive C:), within my iTunes folder (same place as my library xml files).
I'd like to move these application folders also, since my C drive is pretty full also. I'm ok with leaving the library files and iTunes folder there, but really need to move the other stuff to the new external drive.
    How can I do this?
    Thanks, Mike

Answers depend on who is logged on, and their knowledge. This is basically a user chat board although a few Apple employees do drop in, sometimes.
The Mobile Apps & Artwork folders are stored wherever the ITL file is stored. If they are still going to your C: drive, then your ITL file is on the C: drive.
If you want those folders on your exHD, then move the ITL file over there while itunes is closed. Then press and hold the shift key while starting itunes and pick the ITL file that is on your exHD. iTunes will start using the new location from then on....but your old stuff will still be in the old location.
To keep things straight, after doing that, you should download a free app and make sure you know where to copy over the apps from your C: drive. You might need to tell itunes where to find your apps since you moved them around using Win Explorer.
You can do the same thing with a free single of the week, to see where the new Artwork folders should be.

  • How to develop portal application connecting to SAP R/3(backend system)

    Hello Everyone,
Can anyone guide me on how to create portal aplication(JSPDYNPAGE), that will connect to backend SAP R/3 system, & it will fetch the data from some table from that R/3 system. Any reference material will be appriciated, it will be of great help.
    Thanks
    Chetan.

    Hi Chetan,
Connection to R/3 systems through Portal can be done in many ways. Since you have mentioned that you are using jspdynpage then its better that you use JCo for connecting to R/3 system.
U can write the JCo code using the jspdynpage component. I hope you have pdfs related to JCO. Incase u dont have then give me you mail id. OK
Another approach could be developing a web dynpro java application that access a r/3 table using a BAPI. You can a dynpro model to easily connect to R/3 system.
Just develop an iview based on this web dynpro application. And finally navigate to this iview through your jspdynpage.
I hope this helps you in some way

  • How to make Portal Application for connecting to SAP R/3(backend system)

    Hello  Experts,
I need to create a portal application that should connect to SAP R/3 & fetch some data in some table according to some input parameters provided at runtime & display the data in TABLEVIEW control.
Anyone can guide me on this i:e- how to go about it. What things i should know or should be aware of before creating this application. Any PDF documents , any help material, any guidance about the same will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Chetan

    Chetan,
Webdynpro & Visual Composer ars EP Development Tools.
If you only display BAPI data then go for Visual Composer with requires no coding So I suggest you to go for Visual Composer.
You can also use Webdynpro Java or ABAP to display BAPI data by creating
      Adaptive RFC model.
You will integrate Webdynpro applications into EP by creating SAP Webdynpro iView.

  • How to move an application

Is it feasible to move an application (already properly installed) from one volume, or machine, to another?
I know applications normally require installers.
For istance, I've got iPhoto installed on one of my machines. I can't remember how it got there. I don't have the installer disk and don't feel like buying it.
Has someome described a series of steps I can follow to move an application like this to a different machine? Let's say I'm using a thumb drive to do it. I know other files and folders related to the application would have to be located, copied, and then pasted in the right places on the new volume.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tim
    466 MHZ G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Hi Timothy,
Many applications can just be copied -- drag the application or its folder from Applications folder to Applications folder. More complex apps can install code for themselves in /Library/Application Support. You'd want to check out and probably copy anything named for the application or the company, e.g., both Palm folders if you were moving the Palm Desktop application. DON'T just copy the Application Support folder
Settings in <your home folder>/Library/Preferences, as Kappy notes. While in <your home folder>/Library, look for folders relevant to your app, e.g., iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins.
You might have to move some fonts, if an application installed them and expects them to be present.
A few apps scatter themselves more widely and for all practical purposes have to be reinstalled.
Please be aware of copyright. Some version of iPhoto shipped with all recent releases of the OS, so copying that version to a machine where it had been deleted / lost / deliberately not installed would be fine. But iPhoto version 6 is a pay-for upgrade for most of us. Copying that would be a license and copyright violation.

  • How to develop portal application from scratch

    Hi,
I am on the process of evaluating sun one portal server in windows environment.
currently i am planning to develop some sample portal application from scratch.
can someone help me how to go about in this with some reference materials/links.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Senthil

    portal application means
1- portlets (portlet logic + portlet view)
    or
2- channel + provider (original Sun portal components)
    have a look at
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-1370
additionally you can develop JSR168 portlets in combination with JSF straight with Sun Creater 2
which is currently available as a free beta version
    cheers

  • How to move Mobile Applications folder while sharing an Itunes library

For reasons that would be long and hard to explain, I decided some times ago to open a second user on my Book Pro dedicated to my music collection. The collection required to be stored on an external HDD, so the second user's Itunes folder links to a folder where all music is stored, and I put it with all library files (xml etc) in the Shared folder. Now I have decided to let the primary and mostly used user to share the same music of the secondary one. I easily succeeded in doing this, just simply opening the primary ITunes and ask it to link to the Itunes folder under the Shared folder. I have got my entire library also from the primary user, with covers and so on.
The trouble is that I use to manage an Iphone with the primary ITunes, and since I have not moved the Mobile Application folder (and what more?) into the shared ITunes folder, I cannot see anymore all data and applications into my IPhone section under ITunes, and I do not want to run experiments, doing a sync and just running the risk to lose all. How can I share the same ITunes library between two users, but to allow one of those still to see the IPhone data that was originally managed only from her ITunes, that now addresses to the ITunes folder under Shared folder that addresses to a HDD?.....

Still misspeaking. Further use reveals that while the users iTunes use the shared file, when the phones add new apps their iTunes recreates its iTunes Media directory in the users home folder. This time I can exit iTunes, move the apps to the shared Mobile Applications, delete and empty trash the original apps/ and folder, then the users iTunes will find the app in the shared folder when it restarts. Clearly not very tidy...

  • How to move Aperture Application back to computer, but keep Library on External HD?

Many thanks in advance for your attention.
    1. As my Aperture Library started out of the gate large, I began by putting both the Aperture Application and all of the Library on an External Hard Drive.
    2. How do I move the Aperture Application back to my computer, but leave all the Library (and its photos, contents, etc.) on the External Hard Drive?
    3. I tried opening a new Aperture Library on my computer and then attached my External Hard Drive.  I tried clicking that I wanted to keep all the data on the Eternal Hard Drive (presumably this would just transfer the Reference files to my computer - but leave the 100s of GB of photos and data on the External Hard Drive). But the Import button remains greyed out. It is like the Aperture Application on my computer sees another Aperture Application and Library on the External Hard Drive. One Library is open (on computer), so it can't access photos in 2nd Library - (External Drive). But if I open up External Drive Library, then I can't import in the direction I want.
    4. I don't want to import One Project. I am trying to now have my Aperture App and Reference files on computer, while keeping all my photos, etc. on External drive.
    5. One more question as I have read and heard it both ways. Some people say - One Aperture Library for all photos is the best way. That is the point of it. To organize all your photos.
    6. Others say - One library is absurd. As it grows and grows, it slows down and gets sluggish. Better to have multiple (smaller) libraries.

Thanks for this link as well.
This person seems to want to illustrate that you can have multiple Libraries, which you can.  The first example given is a good one: one Library for professional work (I was paid to make these, and I sell them), and one Library for, as the author states, "snapshots of family and friends".  The second example is suspect.  That is the author's Library for his Aikido club.  This seems set up simply so that he can show a third Library.  The Library does no appear to be used much, and is very small.  There is no reason such a Library shouldn't be either in his Professional Library (I get paid to take shots of my Aikido club) or in his personal Library (my Aikido friends).
I put both this person and the other person to whose video you linked in the category of helpful people who have knowledge but not much experience.  (And let me here acknowledge that I tend to overstate my case: I'm happy to have my experience improved -- but I didn't see anything in either citation that did that.)
A year ago I stated my general rules for creating Libraries.  I stick by them today:
    My rules-of-thumb are:
    •  One Library for each photographer or group of functionally identical photographers (a company that shoots weddings, for example) when the author/copyright-holder of the image is important.
    •  Separate Libraries for "authorless" images of a specific category (I keep a Library of paintings and drawings; who made the photographs is of no interest).
    •  Separate Libraries for items which need to be handled securely (medical documentation, for example)

    Hello,
Debugging a JSP using a stack trace is made possible by using the keepgenerated element of the jsp-descriptor element in your web app descriptor in WEB-INF/weblogic.xml. The working-dir and verbose elements are also of interest.
You can edit weblogic.xml or you can use the Oracle WebLogic Server console to configure your web app. In the console you would go to "Deployments", find your web app, select the "Configuration" tab, Lock & Edit, and do your thing. The settings you are interested in are "Debug Enabled", "JSP Keep Generated", and "JSP Verbose". I'm not sure which weblogic.xml element the "Debug Enabled" corresponds to, but it might be something like the debug-enabled element of the session-descriptor element.
I can never remember where JSP generated servlet source code files end up if I have not specified a working dir. They end up buried DEEPLY. I just search the file system in my workspace for the generated files. For example, I just found the generated source for my helloOne.jsp in:
    C:\bea_wlp102\user_projects\workspaces\frmwrk\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.wst.server.core\tmp0\frmwrk_domain\work\MyWAR\jsp_servlet\_portlets\__helloone.java

  • How to move between applications in Mission Control using non-english keyboard?

I have recently started using MC and really like it. I prefer doing as much navigation as possible from the keyboard.
I can do most of the things I want to with MC but I have not been able to find out how to switch between open applcations on the selected Desktop while in MC.
I have tried searching for a solution online without success. To begin with it would be great if it is at all possible but preferably, it would be something that could be configured by me in System Preferences/Keyboard.
I would think that other people would want to do somehting similar so hopefully there is a solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    Thor

Hold down the cmd (⌘) key and briefly press the tab key (⇥) then use the left/right arrow keys to select the application you wish to switch to.  When done release the cmd key.

  • How to move FPM applications between packages?

Is there any way to move a whole FPM application, including all of its configurations, from one package to another one? I cannot find any way to do this, neither in the SE80 nor in FLUID/FPM_WB.
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
Select your appl'n in SE80->Click on it->Select Goto(in the top menu)->Select Object directory entry->You will get a object directory entry window
In that window, you can change the package assignment.
Else, you can also achieve the same by executing the program SAPCTS_TOOLS.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks
    KH

  • How to move application from one machine to another..??

    Hi All,
I have developed a application which I want to move it to a server, but when I use export i am getting XYZ.sql. And i tried to import it on server but I am getting some Schema errors.
Please can anybody help me to move my application to other machine with DATABASE structure and Schema.
Is there anyway to covert my application into a installable, as we install Sample Applications which brings Database tables and schema on to our system when we install it.
    Thanks Lot
    Yogesh

    Hi,
I'm not sure if your situation is the same as mine but here is how I move my application between computers.
    Comp1: @WORK
    Comp2: @HOME
    1. Export the database on comp1:
At command prompt type: exp system/password file=db.dmp full=Y
    2. Export the application on comp1:
From inside ApEx go into your application, select Import/Export and export the following:
    - Application (i use file format DOS, owner override is the application owner and Run and Build Application)
    - CSS (export all css files)
    - Images (export the image files)
    3. Create a user in comp2 to receive the application:
Log into ApEx as SYSTEM and create a user with full privileges (I use the same username on comp1 and comp2)
Note: If the user already exists in comp2 I will delete (including all applications) and re-create (basically to start fresh)
    4. Import the database on comp2:
    At command prompt type: imp system/password file=db.dmp fromuser=MYUSER touser=MYUSER
Note: MYUSER is the user you have created in step3, therefore only database objects from the export file for that user will be imported.
(Now all my tables, packages, procedures, triggers etc are in the database).
    5. Import the application on comp2:
Log into ApEx as MYUSER. Go into applications and select Import/Export and import the 3 files that were exported earlier
At this point everything for me is working.
BTW - I'm using the same version of XE on both machines.
    Hope this helps.
    Richard.

  • Calling portal application via it 's url from R/3 (with authentication)?

    Hello,
how to call portal application by its url from R/3 (using ABAP)? How to avoid authentication screen?
    Best regards,
    Josef Motl

<i>What I want is to call portal application on background (not to call browser).</i>
you can use CL_HTTP_CLIENT class or HTTP_GET or HTTP_POST function modules for the same. (but you need to pass the user id /pwd in the program) (ITS doesnt fit your case)
    check out the demo programs.
    for CL_HTTP_CLIENT
    RSHTTP01
    HTTP_GET/POST
    RSHTTP20
    RSHTTP70
    RSHTTP90

  • Accessing portal application through NWBC (EhP5)

Can anyone shed some light on how are the portal application accessed if we want to use portal application through NWBC?
What portal applications are available... we are on EhP5...
    Regards,
    Harshal

    Note that
The business client does not need a portal (it can but does not have to)
but NWBC can connect as well (by using the sapgui in the background-
hence sapgui needs then to be installed as well on the same client as
the NWBC) directly against the backend.

As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 you can choose from the
    following deployment options for ESS:
Deployment Option 1: WD ABAP-Based ESS on NWBC
Deployment Option 2: WD ABAP-Based ESS on SAP NetWeaver Portal
Deployment Option 3: WD Java-Based ESS on SAP NetWeaver Portal
Activate the switch HCM_ESS_WDA_1 to use WD ABAP services

  • How to use  ADF application functionality in Webcenter Portal

    Hi,
We have an separate ADF application with bunch of functionality that are been using in others applications. We have to use these functionality in the WebCenter portal.
In this ADF application, each jspx page used for implementing different functionality(for example Calendar for one page, subscriptions for one page like that) and there are no bounded task flow used.
Challenge here is, need to some how import the ADF application as reusable component (section) and yet to use different functionality (I mean accessing each jspx page)
So, what are the ways we can utilize these ADF functionality in WebCenter portal? Let me know your thoughts?
    Any help really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    San.

    All,
if you have WebCenter in place the best way is to use the ADF portlet bridge. You can create portlet entries at design time in JDev on each JSPX as well as on any TaskFlow definition (right click as mentioned above). That's quite convenient if you stay in the WebCenter / ADF world. You'll get the standalone as well as the portletized application so the standalone version will still be working. Mind that if you portletize an ADF Application you need to deploy it in a portlet runtime. That means you need to extend your ADF container with the portlet runtime. That requires a WebCenter license for the server since the portlet runtime is a part of the WebCenter product stack.
In respect of SSO, after deploying your Portlet Producer App you'll get WSRP Webservices on application level for which you can apply OWSM policies (Enterprise Manager) so the identity of the portal will be propagated to the Portlet Producer App. Details can be found on WebCenter Portal Developer's Guide.
Just to let you know that these portlets can be only consumed on Oracle's portals (be that WebCenter or Oracle Portal 11g). That's caused by some Oracle specific WSRP additions to the ADFPortlet Bridge.
Jiri, what do you mean with "enhance it with portal features"? Oracle's portlet aproach is fully based on WSRP, means decoupling. So you cannot add portal features to the portlet. Everything has to be packed in request and response. There's no direct access to portal /portlet resources to interact with.
