How to not make Tables, Column and Data Available in Excel

Goal:
Not displaying the dimension table and its data in excel
Problem:
I was enable to deny access for the user roles in SSAS about denying access the data from the column but the next thing is that I do not know how dimension table and column not to be available in the excel.
Information:
*The datasource is SSAS
*I have made three user to have access to two tables only.

According to your description, you want the Manager role can see all dimension table and its data column. And the Employee role can't view all table, column and data, right? Currently we don't have a direct option to complete hide the dimensions or attributes
to some roles. However you can use workarounds below.
Using cube perspectives and hide the cube dimension attribute then set the perspectives to role.

    I have to fetch the record_type from a lookup where I can have any of the record type, sometime USES, HOW TO USE, SIDE EFFECTS and sometimes some other set of record types
    In my report I have to get these record typpes as field name dynamically whichever is available in that lookup and record values against them.
    its a BI Publisher report.

    if you have data in db then you can create xml with needed structure
    and so you can create bip report
    do you have errors or .... ?

  • How to fix skewed table columns and rows after re-import XML

    My question is regarding XML Import in InDesign CS3.
    I have a XML that has a table of 5 columns and 5 rows, when I import it into InDesign, the table shows up fine with 5 columns and 5 rows. However when I revise my table to have an additional column, and re-import the XML file, the table gets updated, but instead of with an additional column, it gets 'appended' with an additional row instead (InDesign seems to blindly replace each cell from left to right, top to bottom, and ends up with 6 rows instead). The XML file specifies the number of columns and rows (5 and 5 before, 5 and 6 after), why doesn't InDesign recognize it and automatically add a new column when I re-import the file?  Is this problem fixed in CS5.5? Is there a script to fix this?

    What I mean is, right now there is a "workaround" which requires a user to manually add an extra column before re-importing the XML (with an extra column), otherwise the results get skewed. If by providing a script we can simply ask the user to "run" it, it would be a more "acceptable" solution.  
    Right. So, one solution would be to use Convert Text to Tables. If you find that works for you, then you can script it.
    That's why I asked you...
    Of course if nothing is required from the user other than simply re-importing, then that would be the best solution.
    Well, one could imagine a script that was attached to the re-import command, or to the link update notification, but probably the first step is to get something that works reasonably well without automating it completely. Especially because triggers to run scripts silently can introduce hard-to-debug problems.
    Sure we can switch to use "CALS table and see if this works. The question is, why should we need to? In the 2nd XML there is clearly a different "aid:tcols" value, and yet InDesign seems to ignore it and assume the same # of columns? This sounds like an Indesign bug, can someone confirm? Is there any plans to fix this?
    Not to be snarky, but do you want it to work or not? There are the tools you have and the tools you wish you had, and you can't really do much with the ones you wish you had. I'm kind of assuming you are looking for a solution today, not a solution in 2013.
    Yes,  I believe two of us have confirmed this appears to be a bug.
    Plans to fix? Well, we can't really tell you. You could try asking Adobe, but that's not easy information to get out. But you can certainly open a support case at http://adobe.com/go/supportportal and ask. It's not like we have special information here...
    But you're probably better off filing a bug first, in that same fashion.
    But let's assume no one had filed the bug. CS6 is expected in the March/April 2012 timeframe. That means that they're probably just putting the finishing touches on it right now, and it's going to be very difficult to fix things in it now. So then the earliest you'd likely get it fixed in CS6.5/CS7/whatever which presumably comes out by 2Q2013, and that's assuming Adobe decides to fix it...

    No matter when I add a song or save a document it says it was added/saved on 1/5/2011. It would be great if somehow I could get back the dates and times that things were added, but I know that may be impossible. I just want a way to have the correct time and date stamp from now on. Finally it wasn't always like this, when I first got the computer everything was correct, I just started noticing it.   • Checking table columns and data type before inserting

    I have some data coming from different sources and want to insert the data from those files into multiple tables.
    Before inserting the data I like to perform a check on data type, length, null etc so that I can avoid errors at the time of insert. If there is any problem with the data then I do not want to perform the insert and report the problems.

    If you have 10gR2 (10.2.0.4) you could use DML_ERROR_LOGGING.

    In short: it avoids errors during your transactions, afterwards you know which records failed and why.
    It's more or less the same functionality:
    your goal:
    check before transactions and avoid the insert of 'bad' records. (extra code, extra maintenance, more chance of bugs)
    dml_err_logging:
    insert 'bad' records during transaction automatically into a dedicated error table including error message.

    Audit Trail is used to track the record changes.
    The report RPUAUD00 gives all the changes done to the masterdata by any user anytime.
    But, before using this audit trial, please ensure that the system hardware is well equipped as the audit trials activation would later become a performance issue as this would occupy a lot of space in the coming time.

  • In XI pro, exporting PDF to Excel problem.  Excel columns and data are not properly aligned.  Help?

    I used 30 day trial of Acrobat XI and all the functions work perfectly.  But, when I buy the program (either download or disk) my PDF that export to Excel is not working.  The excel columns and data are not properly aligned as they should be.  The Trial version aligns everything perfectly.  What is happening?  I use a MAC 10.9.5.  But this shouldn't matter because the trial version works perfectly.  Can anyone help?

    The easiest thing to start with is to reset the Eraser Tool.
    Right click on the Eraser icon in the tool options bar and then click on Reset Tool.

    I have a long list of 8760 numbers of which I need to take the sum (and store in a column) of each 24 numbers.

    Here's one way. I've reduced the example, taking groups of five numbers from a set of 20. I've used 3 as the data number in all cases to make the sum easily recognizable.
    Original column of numbers in Data::column A.
    Data::B2 (and filled down): =QUOTIENT(ROW()+3,5)
    This adds 3 to the row number, then divides by 5, returning the quotient and ignoring the remainder.
    The result is a 'group number' for each group of five rows.
    Sums of each group are reported in the Sums table.
    Sums::A2 (and filled down): =ROW()-1
    Sums::B2 (anf filled down): =SUMIF(Data::$B,A2,Data::$A)
    For your example, assuming the 8760 numbers are listed in column A of a table named Data, starting at cell A2:
    Add a second column to the table (column B).
    In B2 enter the QUOTIENT formula above, with these two revisions:
    =QUOTIENT(ROW()+22,24)
    Fill down to all cells in the column.
    Provided you have named the first table "Data", both formulas in the Sums table will be as written above. You will need to extend the Sums table to 366 rows (including the Header row) to accommodate all 365 groups of 24.

    I use, Jdev 11.1.1.6, Oracle 10g XE.
    For this, I created the following
    1. A table as MyFilesTab(ID Number, FileName Varchar2(80), File BLOB)
    2. An Entity Object MyFilesEO on MyFilesTab.
    3. Generated a default view object: MyFilesVO
    4. Application Module : TestAM with view instance "MyFiles"
    But When I run TestAM, I see MyFiles as an Input textbox. So I cannot able to add a file that will be stored in my Table.
    Please help me out.

    1) Whenever you pivot rows to columns, no matter what version of Oracle and no matter what method you use, you have to decide in advance how many columns you are going to have and what the names of the columns are. This is a requirement of the SQL standard.
    2) I use the WHERE clause to get just the data for this year
    3) With EXTRACT, I get just the month without the year.
    4) Using DECODE, I put every month's data into the correct column
    5) Once I do all that, I can just GROUP BY order_code while SUMming all the data for each month.

    Those annotations are called "Labels", and they are only visible during editing when a cell selection is made within the table. If you need to have the labels on your final output, you can create labels in Text Boxes and position them adjacent to the table.

    PS: You can try parallelism but this is not performance improvent as far as resource are concerned, it is just instead of one thread parallel thread would be working, so it just reduce the time the query takes to complete
