How to Obtain taskId of a particular process instance

Hi All
I have a requirement to receive input & feed the received input for approval (through human task). I would like to bypass the login aspect for the human task & directly display the particular instances task details. I don't want to display all the pending tasks (in a worklist fashion).
My flow will be as follows:
Person A initiates the process & feeds input.
The next task is a human task.
Person A/Person B should see the input fed by person A in the human task for this current instance.
Is there a way to pass instance id or task id across the entire workflow? Based on task id, I can display the payload form directly for human task.
Thanks
Badri

  • Obtaining current assignee of a process instance

    Is there an API call that will tell me whether a process instance is currently assigned to a participant? I've tried using ProcessInstance.participant but this returns the 'active' participant, which, if called from an automatic activity returns "Automatic Handler." Clearly not the actual assignee.
    A call that returns a simple boolean would be great. A call that returns the assignee's Participant object would be even better.
    Thanks for any help.

    I am copying a piece of studio docs.
    this is the documentation for "participant.sticky" property
    If set to true, the participant.next is set as the preferred participant. Each time the instance moves to an activity and the participant.next is enabled to work with it (belongs to the role where the activity is), the instance is submitted to the participant.next work queue. In the Split and SplitN activities, all generated copies maintain the participant.sticky value from the original instance. In the SplitN method you can change its value. Note: if the participant.next is changed during the process, be sure that participant.sticky is reset unless the new participant.next is considered the preferred participant.
    and this is for "participant.next"
    The participant to which the instance will be sent next. Note: If the instance is grabbed, the participant.next is cleared. If the instance is sent BACK or SKIP from an Exception flow or from an Interruption, the only way to reset the participant.next is using the Unselect method from the Participant component. See Participant component documentation for further information.

  • GP SP6: Find completion date of a process instance

    Hi all,
       We are using GP SP6. We want to find out the actual completion date of a particular process instance. Something like <i>getActualEndDate()</i> that's available in SP7.
       Is there a way to do this?
    Regards,
    Satyajit.

    Hi Satyajit,
    You can implement it in the following way:
    <code>
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext() ;
    IReportingFactory reportingFactory = (IReportingFactory)context.lookup("/sap.com/com.sap.nw.eu.gp/ReportingFactory") ;
    IBlockReporting reporting = reportingFactory.getBlockReporting(processId, processId, currentUser);
    java.util.Date actualEndDate = reporting.getActualEndDate() ;
    </code>
    If process is running or active the end date is null.
    As I remember it works correctly for completed processes. For cancelled processes it return null too.

  • A few process instances in automatic activity  simultaneously

    Hi
    I am creating and initiating new process instance using Global Creation activity. I have put screenflow in Global Creation. An instance after completing the screenflow in Global Creation activity goes to BeginIn of the process. When I test it many times I get only  from time to time warning:
    Instance '/BackgroundUpdate#Default-1.0/157/0@xxx' is not in activity '/BackgroundUpdate#Default-1.0/doUpdate'.
    Details: Instance is in activity '/BackgroundUpdate#Default-1.0/WaitToProcessNextPackage' and has status 'RUNNING (1)'.
    "doUpdate" and "WaitToProcessNextPackage" are activities (automatic components) placed after Begin in the process ("doUpdate" is subsequent for BeginIn and "WaitToProcessNextPackage" is subsequent to "doUpdate" activity). When I get this warning no logic is executed for the process instance in "doUpdate" activity.
    How to solve it? Only one process instance created with Global Creation activity can be in one automatic activity? If there two process instances simultaneously in automatic activity, then one them won't be processed?
    Thank you in advance
    Regards

    what does they means by service thing here,,,,and how do we specify it? or use it?
    Any application running in Oracle RAC clusterware is considered as a service. What is a service in the windows,its kinda same. If its a part of RAC and an application and running,its service.
    Read from here about services,
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/mgmt_db.htm#sthref2266
    If you don't know RAC yet, better is to leave it.Its the core of RAC if you ask me.
    does resource_consumer_grp and Service name parameter in job class definition are mutual exclusive?or not
    Did you check in the docs for the same?

  • How to get keys of a particular type

    Following are my objects:
    DepartmentKey - primary key is departmentName, a String
    Department
    EmployeeKey - primary key is employeeId, an integer
    Employee
    I have 5 DepartmentKey-Department key-value entries in a cache and 2000 EmployeeKey-Employee key-value entries in the same cache.
    How do I get all the DepartmentKeys from the cache? In general, how to get keys of a particular type (class name)?
    Thanks
    Ghanshyam

    I guess I am deeply off track regarding the general approach towards storing items in the cache.
    Following is my problem domain:
    A Merchant is any establishment that accepts credit cards. (It could be the local Subway down the street or Macy's, etc.). A Transaction is a credit card transaction.
    public class Merchant implements Serializable{
    private String merchantId; // primary key
    private double averageTxnAmount;
    private double totalTxnAmount;
    private long totalTxnCount;
    public class Transaction implements Serializable{
    private String merchantId; // merchant that originated the txn
    private double amount;
    private Timestamp txnTime;
    private String txnType; // sale, return, etc.
    public class MerchantKey implements Serializable, KeyAssociation{
    private String merchantId;
    public Object getAssociatedKey{
    return merchantId;
    public class TransactionKey implements Serializable, KeyAssociation{
    private String merchantId;
    private Timestamp txnTime;
    private double amount;
    public Object getAssociatedKey{
    return merchantId;
    I want to update a merchant's average txn amount as transactions come in.
    Let's say I have a million merchants in a partitioned cache cluster spread across some machines.
    Transactions come into the cluster quite rapidly, say tens in a second. The process that inserts the transaction into the cluster must also update the merchant to which the transaction belongs, as follows:
    Transaction t = ...
    cache.put(tKey, t); // store the transaction into the cache
    MerchantKey mKey = new MerchantKey(txn.getMerchantId());
    Merchant m = (Merchant)cache.get(mKey);
    // update the merchant's avg txn amt
    m.setAverageTxnAmount((txn.getAmount() + m.getTotalTxnAmount())/m.getTotalTxnCount() + 1);
    m.setTotalCount(m.getTotalCount() + 1);
    // store the updated merchant back into cache
    cache.put(mKey, m);
    OR
    Transaction t = ...
    cache.put(tKey, t); // store the transaction into the cache
    MerchantKey mKey = new MerchantKey(txn.getMerchantId());
    Merchant m = (Merchant)cache.get(mKey);
    MerchantUpdater agent = new MerchantUpdater(t);
    cache.invoke(mKey, agent);
    public class MerchantUpdater implements AbstractProcessor{
    public Object process(Entry entry){
    Merchant m = (Merchant)entry.getValue();
    // update m's avg txn amt, total count using t
    entry.setValue(m);
    The basic idea is to store all merchants and all transactions (which could be tens of millions in a day) for a day in memory and to update the merchant objects as transactions come in throughout the day. The above example shows updating just the merchant's average txn amount, but in reality, it could be updating a number of things about the merchant.
    Am I using the api in the right spirit or is my approach seriously whacked? Can you please comment?
    Thanks
    Ghanshyam

  • How to change the status of a process chain

    Hi,
    I went through Siegfried's blog and knew how to restart a process chain at a failed step which doesn't have "Repeat" option.
    But is there any other function module through which we can change the "Actual State" of the process chain, in siggi's method we can change only the "i_state" of a particular process but not the "Actual State"(refer to RSPCPROCESSLOG table) of the process chain.
    Please do give your suggestions if there is any way to change the "Actual State" of a process chain.
    Regards

    hey Vamshi,
    We can directly change the status of the process chain.
    there is a specific way to do it, you can go in se38 and change the status from one to another ...go to se38 .... type....rspcprocessmonitor*.........presss f4...
    you will get a standard program ..
    now go to this program ...and give the set of inputs .... like PID and all from RSPCPROCESSLOG table ..
    and in the state give the state you want and press f8.
    this should work.
    Assign points if it answers your queries.
    Thanks,
    Dennis

  • BPM11g How to customize the title column of a BPM process instance?

    Hi, everyone.
    In the process track panel of Workspace there is a table with process instances in it.
    Users shall look into this panel and find information about their processes.
    One of the columns of this table is named "title" and the content of this column is like "instance #" + process instance number + process type name.
    This title is of little use to end users while they are trying to find a certain business process.
    I want to customize this column so I can put some key business word in the content but I do not know how.
    Anyone can help? Thank you.
    Edited by: Matt Wang on Apr 19, 2011 10:32 PM

    Hi Matt
    1. For Flex Fields, please see the below link. Basically you login into bpm/workspace as Adminstrator and then you can do this.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_worklist.htm#CHDFDHGD (Latest version 11.1.1.4)
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_worklist.htm#CHDFDHGD (Older version 11.1.1.1)
    2. As admin user only you can create a new custom view, by clicking + icon on left side. For this new View, you can define the name, columns you want to show in this new view, any particular sort order etc etc. Then you can set some privleges also for this new View. After this, this View should now be visible for all the normal regular uses (non admin user). I guess there may be a way to make these custom views as the default views also for a specific user or role. I have not explored this though.
    In the above links see the section: Section 30.3, "Customizing the Task List Page"
    3. In EM Console, we may not be able to do any customizations. But if your intention is to search for list of tasks with specific criteria, in EM console itself for your process, on right side, there should be a tab like Intances. There you can specify your search criteria and Search. I am not aware of how to show the data in the Name column for the instances listed.
    Thanks
    Ravi Jegga
