How to open Crytal report deployed in Business Objects 3.1 CMC using C# cod

WE designed the report using Crystal report 2008 and then deployed the reports in Business Objects 3.1
The deployment server has below details
BO: BO 3.1 no fix packs
OS: AIX 5.3
WebSphere: 6.1.0.25
Now we have an Intraday website devveloped with ASP.net 3.5 hosted on a Windows 2003 server. the backend is SQL server 2005. I need sample C# code that can be used to open the crystal report deployment in Business Object 3.1 UNIX server as mentioned above.
Any assistance is highly appreciated.
P:S I didn't find any documentation/sample in this website.

Hi,
I would like to ask around how to increase the number of data Business Object can pull for a report. I have a report which pulls data depending on the date range (ex. From 01/01/2007 - 01/10/2007). But, when the data that is pulled exceeds 5000, the report fails. Is there anyway to increase the number of data that BO can pull?

to my knowledge we can't change that. Let me explain this, we have setting in the source system for DS default Data Transfer. there we will assign the processes. if you want to assign 4 you need to change the setting in the source system. For flat files we can change in BW System. We can maintain the setting in the Infopackage level(wht we are assigned in the Source System), but we can't change the process.
in order to check the setting in source system SBIW--> General Settings --> Control Parameters for Data Transfer.
we need to change here, this will effect to all the Data Sources. Before making changes check with your basis.

Converting crystal reports 10 to Business Objects XI reports

Hi All I am very new to Business Objects XI R2, I have two doubts if any one knows please give reply to me so that it will be helpful for me.First is :Now I am working for a project called Converting Reports which was created by Crystal Reports 10 TO Business Objects XI reports.Is there any specific way for converting .rpt(Crystal Reports) to .rep (Business Objects) or I have to recreate in Business Objects XI. and Second is: Is it possible, Scheduling BO XI report in java based interface, I heard that it is possible but I don't know how?Please give me, How it is possible? you will need access to the CMS DB and FRS from CE10 in order to migrate to XI 3.x, typically this is accomplished via network. If you can restore them to the same computer a side by side (install CE10 and XI 3.x on the same server) may work as well.

Hi Bhaskar,
that ´s not difficult.
Open your Bus.Obj. in SWO1 with CHANGE/EDIT
Click on the "Methods" header line and then use the button for "Create".
If you want to add the method on basis of a function module, choose next in the next pop up. Then the system will offer you the ex/import parameter from the function module. So this is a really simple way.
If you don´t have a FM, it is a little bit more difficult.
Choose No on the quetion about a FM, fill in the next pop up methode name (no blanks allowed).
Dialogue is for user related method (call screen...) synchronous for methods which have to give back a result directly in to the workflow.
After completing the screen the method will be displayed as new method at the end of method list. Now add parameters (first click on the method name, then choose parameter button, same functionality to add program to the method).

PARAM area (button PARAMETER) and here in code.
To use your method, change it to implemented after adding your code.

Looking for a tool to search text fields in about 1000 reports installed on Business Objects Xi R3

Hi,
i am looking for a tool, program that can search all our reports installed on Business Objects Xi R3 for specific content in text fields and formulas.
We used a couple of years ago .rpt inspector, that worked pretty well for our purpose.
Unfortunately this is Win XP & Win Server 2003 only, so we can't reuse it anymore.
(I know there are way of getting WinXP that in a VMware, but that is not an option in our company.)
So i am interested , if there is another tool out there, which can help us?

For some business objects it is showing that No Unicode Errors found Ex: Z00MARA
and for Business Objects it showing the message like : There is no program corresponding to this selection.
Why system is showing like this ?

Crystal Reports published on Business Objects Enterprise Server

Hi all,
I am having a few difficulties after i save my crystal report to the Business Objects Enterprise Server XI 3.1.
1) for the reports with static parameters the "Crystal Reports Print Control" doesbnot work. It gets stuck and i guess cannot load the print function. Don't know what exactly causes it but i made two similar one field reports and saved them to the server. One with a dynamic parameter and the other with a static parameter.
The report with static parameter could not be printed.
This happens when i use the HTML viewer for crystal reports. I cannot use the activeX or Java viewers as they mess up the formatting of my Arabic reports.
2) For some reports i get one type of parameter screen (like we get while running through the designer) while for other reports i get a different type of Parameter Entry Screen. Sometimes when i view the report first time i get the former type of parameter screen and when i refresh the report i get the later screen.
3) Also my dynamic parameters are not showing all the values when the reports are saved to the above mentioned server. On my desktop i made the LOV registry tweak and it works fine. I did the same tweak on server registry but it is not working.

How to execute a java program in business objects

I am new to java world, we r passing parameters thru java program. The java program passes the parameters(like state) dynamically to crystal reports to generate the reports indivudually for evey parameter(like ca,ny,fl) . what r the things i need to configure in the business objects in order to use java program to pass parameters to the reports which r scheduled in cmc.

How to Set / change the attribute of Business Object

Hi all,
Say I have a Z Business Object -> ZBO
Inside the BO, I have an attribute -> ZA1
And one method -> ZM1
Is there any way in which i can set / update the attribute ZA1 (for any particular instance) outside the Business Object (I mean without writing any code in the program of the Business object)?

Yes.
BOR attribuites are a piece of code. You can see this by hilighting an attribute and clicking on the "Program" button. That code returns the attribute value, usually something from a DB table, something calculated, or a private attribute.
To change what the attribute returns, you need to change the underlying data. How you do it depends on what your attribute code does in first place. This is why we can't give you an exact answer. If your attribute retrieves a value from a table entry then you need to change the table entry. If it is a calculated value then you need to change the data used in the calculation to make your attribute return something else. If it returns a private attribute value then you need to update this via a method.

How to call the method of a Business Object?

Can someone guide me how to call the method of a business object?
For example, I want to use the method SalesDocument.Copy of the Business Object VBAK. How can I do that? If you are familiar with any similar scenario please help.

Business Object export file is UTF-8 Code

recently, we updated our business objects and found all the reports export from business objects will have 3 extra characters in the front of the first row in the Csv file, however our client's Linux system does not recognize these 3 code (EF BB BF), does any one know how to export file from business object change to regular code like ANSI code?

I have activated 0CR_FIAA_M20_Q0007 Crystal Reports from Business Content Ext BW and I have configurated BW_Publisher services in BW but I do´t see reports in /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN.
I check RFC connection and it´s ok
Here I can´t get a role
and here I don´t see reports
Do I have to create special role with especial authorization?
How do I save this Crystal reports in a Rol?
How do I open this Report ?

How to open a report stored in the CMS with the RDC ?

Hello,
With CRXIR2, reports can be stored in the CMS.
Does anybody knows how to open such a report with the RDC (version 11.5) ?
I really need to use the RDC because I have to save subreports on HDD
and it is unavailable with the RAS SDK (neither Java nor .Net).

Why saving subreports ?
- orthogonality reasons... we can import them, why c'ant we do the opposite?
- consitency reasons... we should be able to do the same as we do with the designer, (why this option is available in the Designer ?)
Furthermore, the job is already done in Crystal, it should not be so difficult to port it to the RAS.
- regression reasons... this is something we could do in the past (from Delphi, with the RDC), now the RDC is gone....
Now I will tell you my personal reason:
We have huge reports (about 30 subreports), based on huge business views.
As a result, just loading the report (openClientDocument) takes more than one minute.
In a production environment the custommers do not want to accept that.
So:
- we keep the business views at design time because it's a requirement
- Once the report designed I try to cut the BusinessViews and replace them by SQL commands
I suppose you know the RAS to be aware that it can't do that by far.
I wrote a program to disconnect all the ReportObjects from the BusinessView, it's Ok
Now I need to remove the BusinessViews from the report and all subreports.
I can automate CrystalReports for it, but only at the report level...
This is my particuliar reason for saving subreports.
Am I the only one to have this request ?
If you want, of course, I'm ready to help developing those missing things in the RAS.
I'm serious, tell me if you are interested.
