How to pass argument to App Process wo using hidden item

Basically if i take this javascript that calls application process:
function get_APP(pThis,pSelect){
var l_Return = null;
var l_Select = $x(pSelect);
var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=get_APP_List',0);
get.add('P1_BA_TEMP',pThis.value);
gReturn = get.get('XML');
// skip
I have ( according to many examples on the web ) to use the "hidden" item over wise it doesn't seem to work.
It seems to be an excessive use of the items. It's just the variable. Right ?
Thank you
Andrew

Andrew,
"doesn't seem to work" is the worst way to describe something not working ;)
1. the name of your on demand process is case sensitive
2. have you tested the on demand code in SQL Workshop > SQL Commands? does it return the expected XML?
3. put an
alert(gReturn);
in your javascript code after
gReturn = get.get('XML');
and see what kind of alert you get.

  • How to pass argument in main function ?

    How to pass arguments in main function of one class from another class ?
    I don't want to pass argument from command prompt.
    I want to try something like this -
    class Test{
    public static void main(String args[]){
    for(int i=0;i<args.length;i++)
         System.out.println(args);
    class Fun{
    public static void main(String args[]){
         Test t=new Test("Hello","good bye");
    when i run Fun class it gives error.
    Suggest me how can i do that.

    In Fun class main method does not take arguments that is fine. In Test class instead of main method you can have constructor to take input parameters as suggested by BalusC
    However, if you want to make your existing code work, you can call (though not appropriate) main() method of Test class from main() method of Fun class (As main() method is static object is not required to invoke this):
    Test.main(new String[]{"Hello","good bye"});Here is your code:
    class Test{
    public static void main(String args[]){
    for(int i=0;i<args.length;i++)
    System.out.println(args);
    public class Fun{
    public static void main(String args[]){
    //Test t=new Test("Hello","good bye");
    Test.main(new String[]{"Hello","good bye"});
    } Thanks,

    Hi Everybody,
    I am using xquery transformation.
    Input: Source payload contains 5 variables.
    Target payload contains 5 variables.
    I have input with payload with multiple instance like:
    <Input>
    <payload1>
    <a>1<a>
    <b>2<b>
    <c>3<c>
    <d>4<d>

    But while testing with multiple line items,i am getting an error as follows.
    *Error executing the XQuery transformation: line 14, column 17: {err}FORG0005: expected exactly one item, got 2+ items*
    So please provide me the steps how to pass multiple records to target side using xquery.
    Regards,
    Jyoti Nayak

    Hi Jyoti Nayak,
    You have to do something like the example bellow, you can not just repeat the inner element, you will need an outer "container" tag. So you will have to change the target element of your xq transformation.
    declare function xf:setToList($set1 as element(ns0:set))
    as element(ns0:list) {
    <ns0:list>
    for $pair in $set1/ns0:pair
    return
    <ns0:entry>
    <ns0:key>{ data($pair/ns0:key) }</ns0:key>
    <ns0:value>{ data($pair/ns0:value) }</ns0:value>
    </ns0:entry>
    </ns0:list>
    Cheers,
    Vlad

  • How to pass data between two internal sessions using ABAP memory?

    Hi,
    How to pass data between two internal sessions using ABAP memory?
    It would be fine if you could explain with an example.
    And also let me clear about the data passing between two main sessions and two external sessions with specific examples.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
      check the example.
    Reading Data Objects from Memory
    To read data objects from ABAP memory into an ABAP program, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    IMPORT <f1> [TO <g 1>] <f 2> [TO <g 2>] ... FROM MEMORY ID <key>.
    This statement reads the data objects specified in the list from a cluster in memory. If you do not use the TO <g i > option, the data object <f i > in memory is assigned to the data object in the program with the same name. If you do use the option, the data object <f i > is read from memory into the field <g i >. The name <key> identifies the cluster in memory. It may be up to 32 characters long.
    You do not have to read all of the objects stored under a particular name <key>. You can restrict the number of objects by specifying their names. If the memory does not contain any objects under the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is set to 4. If, on the other hand, there is a data cluster in memory with the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is always 0, regardless of whether it contained the data object <f i >. If the cluster does not contain the data object <f i >, the target field remains unchanged.
    In this statement, the system does not check whether the structure of the object in memory is compatible with the structure into which you are reading it. The data is transported bit by bit. If the structures are incompatible, the data in the target field may be incorrect.
    PROGRAM SAPMZTS1.
    DATA TEXT1(10) VALUE 'Exporting'.
    DATA ITAB LIKE SBOOK OCCURS 10 WITH HEADER LINE.
    DO 5 TIMES.
      ITAB-BOOKID = 100 + SY-INDEX.
      APPEND ITAB.
    ENDDO.
    EXPORT TEXT1
           TEXT2 FROM 'Literal'
      TO MEMORY ID 'text'.
    EXPORT ITAB
      TO MEMORY ID 'table'.
    SUBMIT SAPMZTS2 AND RETURN.
    SUBMIT SAPMZTS3.
    The first part of this program is the same as the example in the section Saving Data Objects in Memory. In the example, the programs SAPMZTS1 and SAPMZTS2 are called using SUBMIT. You can create and maintain the programs called using the SUBMIT statement by double-clicking their names in the statement. For further information about the SUBMIT statement, refer to Calling Executable Programs (Reports)
    Example for SAPMZTS2:
    PROGRAM SAPMZTS2.
    DATA: TEXT1(10),
          TEXT3 LIKE TEXT1 VALUE 'Initial'.
    IMPORT TEXT3 FROM MEMORY ID 'text'.
    WRITE: / SY-SUBRC, TEXT3.
    IMPORT TEXT2 TO TEXT1 FROM MEMORY ID 'text'.
    WRITE: / SY-SUBRC, TEXT1.
    Example for SAPMZTS3:
    PROGRAM SAPMZTS3.
    DATA JTAB LIKE SBOOK OCCURS 10 WITH HEADER LINE.
    IMPORT ITAB TO JTAB FROM MEMORY ID 'table'.
    LOOP AT JTAB.
      WRITE / JTAB-BOOKID.
    ENDLOOP.
    The output is displayed on two successive screens. It looks like this:
    and
    The program SAPMZTS2 attempts to read a data object TEXT3 from the data cluster "text", which does not exist. TEXT3 therefore remains unchanged. The existing data object TEXT2 is placed in TEXT1. In both cases, SY-SUBRC is 0, since the cluster "text" contains data.
    The program SAPMZTS3 reads the internal table ITAB from the cluster "table" into the internal table JTAB. Both tables have the same structure, namely that of the ABAP Dictionary table SBOOK.
    Pls. reward if useful.....

  • How to pass BindVariables to External Process (Workflow)

    I build a shell script (unix) which accepts a command line parameter .... a "filename"
    The "filename" is a dynamic name!
    The workflow is build with a custom input parameter "filename" ... which I want to pass to an external process, which calls this shell script:
    How can I do that ?
    ExtProcess:
    Command : Val=/bin/ksh
    Parameter_List : Val=":/home/bin/myscript.sh:${Task.Input}:"
    (Binding ":Filename" replaces the whole value, sorry)
    Succes_Threshold: Val=0
    Script : Val="" , Binding=":Filename"
    ... does not pass the value of ":Filename"
    Script : Val="/tmp/fixed.name"
    ... works only with fixed names
    what I really need is something simple like:
    Parameter_list : Val=":/home/bin/myscript.sh:${Parameter.Filename}:FIXPARAM:"
    or Script : Val=":${Parameter.Filename}:${Parameter.Param2}:${Parameter.Pram3}"
    ... similar problem I had with FTP, I found no way to pass dynamic filenames or other parameters (except LOCATION Parameters)
    ... similar problem I had with EMAIL I found no way to include PARAMETERS to the mail body (except to replace the whole body by 1 parameter)
    Is there a solution or is in current version OWB 9.2 only "static" parameters supported.
    I also was missing to pass OUTPUT-parameters for example of a TRANSFORMation,
    I also was missing some urgent SYSTEM-parameters for self identification of the process(like "SYSTEM.TASK_NAME" "SYSTEM.EXECUTION_AUDIT_ID" "SYSTEM.ITEM_KEY" )
    Thanks for all hints and best regards
    Martin

    Actually... After further investigation this may not be needed. I'd be interested in the answer, to understand what is possible.
    The concept of passing parameters in the OWB workflow designer is rather limited, in my humble opinion. Sure, you can designate a "start" sequence that takes a parameter and you can pass that to mappings/transformations but there is no chance for feedback. Ie, if I manually (or through some rigged script) execute the flow with the "PARAMETER" then it will be able to bind. What about mid-flow. IE, select the record to be "processed", then call a "flow" with that as a parameter.
    Am I mistaken? Is there a way to expose the "out" parameters of a mapping, or the return of a "transformation function" as "OUTS" in the process flow.
    Of course, in a world where everything is OWB and in the DB one can leave data in tables, and pick it up on the other mappings. HOWEVER, most BI systems involve external retrievals, etc. that need a bit more "intelligence" then "run and return 1,2,3" . :)
    Hope this is helpful for product feedback. If I'm mistaken on the WF capabilities please clue me in. :)
    btw, I'm an OWB fan, certainly. The progress over the past two years has been excellent.

    I am not knowing how to pass the output of the SQL query to the parameter of the Exe file. Can you please let me know how to pass the sql output data as parameter to the exe.

    Hi,
    you can use the following tutorial fr more information.
    http://www.sqlis.com/post/The-Execute-SQL-Task.aspx
    After getting the data in the variable, you can easily pass the variable in as a parameter for the "Execute process task".

    You can pass parameters to a shell script executing sql commands just like you would any other shell script.
    I have a script called test_os_variables.sh:
    sqlplus -s "/ as sysdba" << EOF
    select '$1' from dual;
    EOF
    Now I execute my script passing SHAWN as a parameter.

  • How to pass arguments from command-line to Point(x,y)

    Hi guys, I'm a beginner. i'm trying to figure this out 'how to pass the arguments from command-line to Point(x,y)'. See below is the code that i have written. But it appears eror. Is there anyone can help me to figure this out?
    class day5FourDPoint {
    int a = 0;
    int b = 0;
    int c = 0;
    int d = 0;
    day5FourDPoint rect(Point AB, Point CD) {
    a = AB.x;
    b = AB.y;
    c = CD.x;
    d = CD.y;
    return this;
    void printout() {
    System.out.println("Four Dimension : " + a + b + c + d);
    public static void main(String[] arguments) {
    day5FourDPoint FD = new day5FourDPoint();
    FD.rect(arguments);
    if (arguments.length > 1 & arguments.length < 4) {
    for (int i=0; i < arguments.length; i++) {
    FD=Integer.parseInt(arguments);
    FD.printout();
    }

    I don't use VBS so this is just a guess based on what I have read in this forum. I think when you are passing an 'array' to javascript it needs to be a variant data type. My guess your arguments are not making it to the javascript because it it the wrong data type.

  • How to pass argument to the Java Plugin JVM w/o using the Control Panel?

    I want to deploy an applet to be loaded by the Java Plug In
    and fix some settings of its Java Virtual Machine.
    The JPI Control Panel offers two ways to pass arguments to the JVM,
    none satisfactory.
    1. while interactive via the Control Panel Window.
    This cannot be a solution for a deployed applet.
    or
    2. by editing the system generated file that stores
    the settings of the Plugin Control Panel, using a property
    named javaplugin.jre.params.
    The problem with this method is that if forces to access
    and edit this property file which is stored at various locations
    depending the client platform. Then, it may collide with other
    settings for other applets.
    Is there a way to pass the arguments to the JVM
    from within the html file?
    Has anyone found a solution to this question?
    JPS

    I am interested in this issue as well.
    Did anyone find a reliable way to specify the runtime parameters that should be used by the Java Plug-in in order to execute a given Java applet?
    I believe a good place to specify these runtime parameters would be the applet's JAR manifest: only digitally signed applets should be able to set the desired runtime parameters...
    Any comments / suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Marco.
