How to pass Proxy to index external URLs?

Hi, I like to index a colum in a table which has Internet site URLs,but I need to pass my company's proxy to go to internet.
How can I tell Oracle Intermedia the proxy user name and password when it starts indexing?
Thanks in advance.
Sue

Unfortunately you can't specify a proxy username and password, as this is not supported by the underlying UTL_HTTP package.
The only way to do this would be via a user datastore, which could use a safe-callout program written in C or similar language to fetch the contents of URLs.

    /faces/Details.jsp?personId=#{currentRow.value['PERSON.PERSONID']}&personName=#{currentRow.value['PERSON.PERSONNAME']}
    is not right.

    The '&' character needs to be escaped, lest it be interpreted by the application server as a separator character in the HTTP query string. Instead of '&', try '%26'.

  • How to pass the JCo destinations as URL params?

    Hi,
    I have requirement to pass my JCo names as Url Params.
    jcoParam = "WD_ORD_RFC_METADATA_DEST:MNR "+" WD_ORD_MODELDATA_DEST:MNR";
    how do I combine and sent to URL params
    urlParameters.put("sap-wd-arfc-useSys",jcoParam);
    I am passing like this but the URL will take one parameter
    with one name but I need to pass the same parameter with diffrent Jco destination how to solve this please guide in this.
    I need like this But
    Url will take one parameter with sap-wd-arfc-useSys this name only the parameter sap-wd-arfc-useSys name is not taking once again .
    sap-wd-arfc-useSys=WD_ORD_RFC_METADATA_DEST:MNR
    & sap-wd-arfc-useSys=WD_ORD_MODELDATA_DEST:MNR
    Any body suggest on this.
    Thanks,
    Lohi.

    Hi Lohita,
    The parameter sap-wd-arfc-useSys should be given in the iview properties in the Content Administrator. The portal will be able to read the parameters properly even when you repeat the parameters like
    sap-wd-arfc-usesys = WD_ORD_RFC_METADATA_DEST:MNR & sap-wd-arfc-usesys = WD_ORD_MODELDATA_DEST:MNR in the iview properties.
    You will not abe able to pass it from the application as we would be using HashMap to pass the url parameters.As far as i know there is no other parameter available for the same purpose. Try giving the same in the iview of that applicaiton, it will work.

    </HTML>

    Thanks
    Jay

    The form you use should work when your change
    "hr/your_secret_password" to a valid username, password
    and connect identifier like "hr/hr@MYDB". Don't forget to
    configure MYDB in your tnsnames.ora file on the machine that has
    the iSQL*Plus server.
    What was the error you got?
    The full URL syntax did seem to go missing from the 9.0.1 doc.
    See below for the full syntax. This should be appearing in a
    forthcoming FAQ.
    - CJ
    What syntax can I use to run an iSQL*Plus Dynamic Report?
    You can run a dynamic report by entering the report URI in the
    location field of your browser, or by making the report server a
    link or the action for an HTML form. The iSQL*Plus 9i Release 1
    documentation has examples of these.
    The general syntax for running a dynamic report is:
    {uri}?[userid=logon&]script=location[&param...]
    where uri
    Represents the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI)
    of the iSQL*Plus Server, for example:
    http://host.domain/isqlplus
    where logon
    Represents the log in to the database to which you
    want to connect:
    {username[/password][@connect_identifier]}
    where location
    Represents the URI of the script you want to run.
    The syntax is:
    http://[host.domain/script_name]
    The host serving the script does not have to be
    the same as the machine running the iSQL*Plus server.
    where param
    Specifies the named parameters for the script you
    want to run.
    Named parameters consist of varname=value pairs.
    iSQL*Plus will define the variable varname to equal value prior
    to executing the script e.g.
    ...script=http://server/s1.sql&var1=hello&var2=world
    This is equivalent to the SQL*Plus commands:
    SQL> define var1=hello
    SQL> define var2=world
    SQL> @http://server/s1.sql
    iSQL*Plus, SQL*Plus and SQL keywords are reserved
    and must not be used as the variable names (varname). Note also,
    that since variables are delimited by the ampersand character,
    there is no requirement to enclose space delimited values with
    quotes. However, to embed the ampersand character itself in the
    value, it will be necessary to use quotes.
    For compatibility with older scripts using the &1
    variable syntax, varname may be replaced with the equivalent
    variable position as in:
    ...script=http://server/s1.sql&1=hello&2=world
    Note the & is the URL parameter separator and not
    related to the script's substitution variable syntax.
    Commands and script parameters may be given in any
    order in the dynamic report URI. However, please note that if any
    parameters begin with reserved keywords such as "script" or
    "userid" then it may be interpreted as a command rather than a
    literal parameter.

  • Urgent: How to redirect  Portal to an external URL on logoff using iViews?

    Hi,
    Please help me with the below query-
    We need to redirect the Portal to an external URL on logoff.
    i) But, the Portal is a shared service we cannot make use of the exit URL functionality in the Portal.
    ii) Only for one service we need to redirect the URL
    Can it be done by changing the Masthead iView - LogoffConfirmMsg.jsp ?
    I am new to portal, please help urgently.
    Cheers
    Anish

    Hi Anish,
    I was just going through the code:
    You may need to try this:
    In Logoffconfirmmessage.jsp there is a java script function called logoff()
    function logoff()
            if (EPCM.getUAType() == EPCM.MSIE)
                window.returnValue = 'logoff';
            else
                window.opener.logoff();
            closeWindow();
    What you could do here is place that code just before closeWindow()
    Yes, you could try window.top.location.href="http://.......";
    Try this and let me know because I have a feeling that this will change the URL of the confirm message. Not sure though...
    Hope this helped.

  • How to pass mysql query id through url parameter to a detail page

    Hi there,
    I am a newbie to JSP and I am trying to pass a url parameter to a detail page so that it will query a mysql data query to show the details of that query. How can I write the query on the details page so that it will display the query results on the page. eg select * From data Where = "passed_url parameter_ value". Please i need urgent help on this please.

    <Acknowledged>
    which should be strongly cautioned against even for "newbies".
    </Acknowledged>
    Right, but the code you posted will "work" in a very harmful wayNot always, I used normal Statements last year and I had no problems.
    Even with pretty capible code brakers trying to cause $h!t with my application.
    Just check for invalid datatypes, and for SQL Injections remove stuff like ' or replace with `
    But yes PStat... are the better way.

  • How to pass checkbox multiple value in URL as parameter?

    Hello,
    I have a checkbox in two page. The checkbox is based on a LOV and user can check more than one value at a time. The return value of the checkbox is like "ID1:ID2".
    I want to call another page with the same checkbox item and want to pass the checked value via the URL.
    This cause problem because checked value are separated with : that not work in URL.
    So, how can I pass checkbox multiple value in parameter via an URL?
    Thanks
    Jean

    Jean,
    Why pass it in a URL instead of just using what's in session state? On your second page, set the Source Type of the check box item to ITEM and enter the name of the check box item on the first page.

  • How to pass Proxy user dynamically in Toplink proxy authentication?

    Hi,
    I'm using Toplink Proxy Authentication with my ADF JSF application and want to pass the Proxy user dynamically to the preLogin(..) method of mySessionEventListener (Currently proxy user is hard coded).
    This is to make my application user as the Proxy user.
    I have tried to do this in two ways:
    1) In my Login screen Backing Bean, I retrieve the session as
    session = sessionFactory.acquireSession(); and set the application user in it as
    session.setProperty("proxyUser1", inputText1.getValue());
    But,
    session.getProperty("proxyUser1") returns null in the preLogin(..) method
    2) I add a loginUser property to the mySessionEventListener class and create a constructor to set it.
    Then I call the constructor from my Login Backing Bean as
    mySessionEventListener eventMgr = new mySessionEventListener(<proxy_user>);
    session.getEventManager().addListener( eventMgr );
    But, the loginUser property seeems to be transient and does not retain value when retrieved in preLogin(..) method.
    Please indicate if anything is wrong. Also, is there any other way to get this done?
    Thanks in advance.
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas,
    Probably your sessions.xml defines a ServerSession, and acquireSession method returns a ClientSession. ServerSession is the object that connects to the database, it may have any number of ClientSessions associated with it - all of them use connections provided by ServerSession's connection pools.
    So if you'd like to alter the serverSession before login, acquireSession is too late - it triggers login of the ServerSession and returns a ClientSession.
    To get the ServerSession before login:
    // the first param indicates that the session shouldn't be connected
    Session serverSession = sessionFactory.getSharedSession(false, false);Now you have a serverSession on which login hasn't been called yet.
    You can set the property into the session, or directly into its login.
    In fact you may choose to do whatever you wanted to do in preLogin right here - in this case no preLogin event would be required of course.
    Finally to get a ClientSession, call the same api did:
    // the first param indicates that the session shouldn't be connected
    Session clientSession = sessionFactory.getSession();On the first such call the ServerSession will be connected.
    Note that because all the ClientSessions will connect through the connections provided by the same ServerSession they will all use proxyUser1.
    If you are interested in using different proxy users for different ClientSessions http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/doc/1013/main/_html/dblgcfg008.htm#BABDABCF lists several scenarios for that.

  • How to pass session variables via the URL in CF10?

    Hi
    I have a client with some old Flash functionality (AS2). The SWF allows the user to upload an image. However a new session is being started when the upload script is called. I have added the CFID, CFTOKEN and JSESSIONID to the URL as I did in the past to maintain the session but I believe you cannot do this anymore with CF10, if this is correct can anyone point me in the right direction of how I would accomplish maintaining the session for the upload?
    This has a note about CF 10 - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1178420

  • How can I forward to an external URL from within a DataAction?

    This is a very simple question I'd guess -- but what I thought was the obvious answer turned out not to be. Keep in mind I am using struts, and the URL is constructed dynamically, so I cannot place a struts forward action in the struts-config.xml file. Here is what I tried from within my DataAction's prepareModel() method:
    actionContext.setActionForward(newURL);
    actionContext.setRedirect(true);
    This didn't work -- nothing happened. Anyone have any ideas?
    Brad

    In our application, we had a forward named Cancel, but for it to work properly we wanted a Redirect to occur to another page. The redirect was not working until we created a new actionforward and set th action forward to it as seen below. You can't programmatically change the forwards at runtime without error, from what I remember.
    DataActionMapping mapping = ctx.getActionMapping();
    ActionForward af = mapping.findForward("Cancel");
    ActionForward afNew = new ActionForward();
    afNew.setPath(ctx.getHttpServletRequest().getSession().getServletContext().getInitParameter("rootURL") + af.getPath());
    afNew.setRedirect(true);
    ctx.setActionForward(afNew);

  • How to pass APEX_UTIL.COUNT_CLICK parameters in the url

    Hello,
    I have to count clicks on the List items:
    There is a Click Counting option in the definition of each List item,
    and you can add Click Count Category there.
    However, I also need to add Click Id parameter - p_id.
    This parameter (p_id) suppose to pass a value into CLICK_ID column of the APEX_WORKSPACE_CLICKS view.
    I am constructing a url for that.
    The url without p_id works perfect:
    z?p_url=f?p=&APP_ID.:43:&APP_SESSION.::NO:::&p_cat=Common&p_company=&WORKSPACE_ID.&p_user=&APP_USER.But the url with p_id does not work at all:
    z?p_url=f?p=&APP_ID.:43:&APP_SESSION.::NO:::&p_cat=Common&p_id=Profile&p_company=&WORKSPACE_ID.&p_user=&APP_USER.Do you know how to pass p_id parameter in the url, so that it would be inserted in apex_workspace_clicks view?
    Thank you!

    CLICK_ID column of the APEX_WORKSPACE_CLICKS is a Number, so you have to pass a number, ex:
    &p_id=1
    So your url should look like:
    z?p_url=f?p=&APP_ID.:43:&APP_SESSION.::NO:::&p_cat=Common&p_id=1&p_company=&WORKSPACE_ID.&p_user=&APP_USER.You can use a page number to associate with a click, to be more descriptive

  • How does the Autodiscover service select EWS URLs to present to clients?

    I have two DAGs.
    DAG1 has three members, two in DataCenterA and one in DataCenterB.  DataCenter A and B are in the same AD site, SITEA.
    DAG2 has  two members.  The primary member is in DataCenter C (different AD site, SITEB) located overseas and the second member is located in DataCenter B with the other DAG1 members and thus shares an AD site membership (SITEA) with them.
    DAG1 members are configured with the same external URLs for Exchange Web Services.  We'll call it ews1.company.com.
    DAG2 members are configured with the same external URLS for EWS.  We'll call it ews2.company.com.
    This is where they funny business starts.
    Our public Autodiscover URL is configured to point to one of the DAG members in DAG1.  So I would expect it to return all external EWS URLs (UM, ECP, OAB, EWS) for one of those servers in that DAG.  In this case, ews1.company.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx,
    etc.
    However it seems to also randomly return external EWS ULRs that are configured for the CAS members in DAG2 also which is not what we want.  I don't want external users getting sent to our overseas CAS for web services.
    My questions are, is this happening because I have one DAG member in DAG2 in the same AD site (SITEA) as the other DAG members in DAG1?  Either way, how can I control which EWS external URLs get returned to the client so they are always for SITEA.
    Thanks!

    What are you using for a load balancer? Whatever CAS Role nodes are in the load balancing pool will be what users connect to based on the URLs.
    If you have a DAG2 node in the same AD site as DAG1 CAS roles, then yes it can be returned to the client. In that case, set the URLs on that server to the ews1.company URLs or remove it from that site definition.
